A Little Bit of Lovin, Zia Quizon's Sophomore Release

One of Kwento Ni Toto's favorite voice, yup it's none other than Zia Quizon.  She is one of the many Pinoy Singers that I love to listen.  Grateful and thankful that I was given a chance to see and hear her sing in person.  She looks more likely of her mother in person.

Her first album was great and that's why I was eager to hear more from her.   The first album launch was the propeller that shoots her right on top by balancing the sound of jazzy and folky voice.  She indeed prove herself that she could breath life to the OPM industry.   So, now she's back with her sophomore album to entice more Pinoy listener to enjoy more of the OPM.  Completing her track are eight original cuts including Zia's own compositions and two classic revivals.  Her album is released under PolyEast Records.

Zia's sophomore album is now out in the market which is titled "A Little Bit of Lovin" with her carrier single "Pasakalye" written by Jungee Marcelo.  I like how she plays with the tone with her voice.  The "Pasakalye" have hit the radios already giving good vibes of the jazzy tone and rhythm.  This will also have a music video soon on MYX Channel.

The new CD includes a remake of white Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" and OPM classic "Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran" which is borrowed from the 70s Pinoy folk rock band Asin.

We all know that Zia sings and her voice is extraordinary, so aside from singing this bubbly, sweet and bluesy jazzy singer hone her craft of songwriting that shows from "Under and Over", "On The Run", "A Little Bit of Love", and "Sweet Memories".  This only shows that she has indeed embraced the legacy of both her parents, ZsaZsa Padilla her mother's signing prowess and her father Dolphy Quizon's funny charm.

As Zia continues to dabble in different sounds and styles, also included in the album are collaborations with talented songwriters and signers like "Katulad ng Iba" featuring Gloc-9 which was made in support to "NOT IN OUR SCHOOL Anti-Bullying Campaign"; a soulful "Kung Away Mo Sa Kin" composed by Francis Salazar; and the song "Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" became an original soundtrack of the same movie title also written by Jungee Marcelo.

"A Little bit of Lovin" is Zia's follow-up to her self-titled debt in 2011 with the chart-topping and award-winning songs "Ako Na Lang", "Dear Lonely" and "Simple Girl", has sold more than 10,000 copies.  This 22-year old acoustic Jazz singer brought home her first Awit Awards trophies for Best Female Recording and Best Recording by a New female Artist in 2012.

"Ako Na Lang," the same song which proclaimed Zia as one of this generation's rarest commodity, also won the 2011 Awit Awards "Song of the Year" for songwriter Jungee Marcelo and Zia's single "Simple Girl" for Best Engineered Recording for Nikki Cunanan.  In 2012, Zia also recieved MYX Music Awards 2012 as Favorite New Artist.
