Sa Ngalan Ng Ama, Ina, At Mga Anak, Shows a Strong Family Bond

Kwento Ni Toto shares an amazing experience with one of the pillars of the action genre and considered as the Bad Boy of the Philippine movie industry, Robin Padilla, but of course that's in movies only. Anyway, the day with him and his lovely wife, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla gave an interesting learning for me as both of them shares what they have unraveled as they go through the making of the film, "SA NGALAN NG AMA, INA, AT MGA ANAK."

Robin Padilla shares that the movie was three years in the making and putting up together the Padilla clan was really hard, the main reason was their schedules. The movie was put into life with the intention of seeking some folklore stories in the south and what Robin Padilla uncovered was a story of a guy named "Ongkoy" and his family who is very well known in Ozamis. As we all know, most of Robin's movies are like the Robinhood stories, robbing the rich and greedy for the benefit of the poor. Thus, the movie came about.

One of the learning that Kwento Ni Toto got was the exact meaning of the name "Kuratong Baleleng". If you search the internet ,it is very few that you can find what it means and mostly were the negative ones. We all know what it is already. "Kuratong Baleleng" or Darling Bell is a kind of bell that were used in towns to signal other people of any danger that is coming. According Robin which is much more clearer kuratong is a male term while the baleleng is a female term and both are needed to make a sound that's why it is called Darling Bell.

Family ties were the main thrust of the movie. The bond of the family. And as evident of that is how they were able to put the Padilla clan together in this action-packed family drama of the year. Also the love for the country were also present.

The movie "SA NGALAN NG AMA, INA, AT MGA ANAK is about Ongkoy, played by Robin Padilla, who was once the leader of the very first incarnation of the anti-vigilante group 'Kuratong Baleleng' that gained much notoriety in the City of Ozamis amidst the political turmoil that the city was going through in the 70's. With his radical views on politics and governance helped redefine patriotism in the Philippines and to that his regarded as the "Robinhood" of Mindanao.

Lead by by the action superstar, Robin Padilla, who just won the Best Actor award for his stirring performance in 10,000 Hours in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)  ABS CBN's Primetime Teen King Daniel Padilla (whose successful MMFF entry Pagpag was named as the highest-grossing horror flick of the history of the annual festival) on the other hand gives a fine display of his versatility as one of the country's most promising young actors as he embarks on the genre of action for the very time.  It should be noted that this is the very first big screen collaboration between Robin and Daniel.

This groundbreaking film also boasts of powerful and unforgettable performances by the beautiful TV host and actress Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, two of GMA 7's top teleserye stars Kylie and Bella Padilla, and young actors RJ Padilla and Matt Padilla.

Also included in this movie are Christopher De Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Rommel Padilla, Karla Estrada, Pen Medina, Lito Pimentel, Dennis Padilla, Aljur Abrenica, and Bugoy Carino.  SA NGALAN NG AMA, INA, AT MGA ANAK is showing in cinemas starting January 29.   This is film is still part of Star Cinema's on-going 20th anniversary celebration.
