The Importance of Medicard HMO

There are 28 and more great reasons to celebrate life but there’s only one way to keep you celebrating life and that’s keeping your life safe and healthy. To ensure that a regular check up of your body’s condition is needed and that’s where most Filipinos fail, including me. Most of us, Pinoys, thought that doctors are only needed when we’re sick but what we didn’t know is that they are there to provide their expertise for prevention of illnesses as much as possible. And I learned that the hard way.

For me, Kwento Ni Toto, work is very much essential to earn a living since I have a family to raise I even go beyond working hours just to provide what is necessary but as we all know but keep on neglecting is that our bodies isn’t the body of Superman. Its health goes down and as we age it deteriorates. Overdoing the body that does the work would entail expenses on medicines and worst hospital bills and that happens to me. Stress and over fatigue stricken me for a week, the worst addition is my kidney problem in which I was confined to the hospital for a week. The relieving part is that the company I’m working with got HMO and as company policy all employees are entitle to that. Hospital bills are taken care of.

HMOs offer different coverage for their members and I have been enrolled to different HMOs already and have researched most of them because of the moment that our HR is looking for great HMO coverage and Medicard topped it all. Unfortunately when our company was about to enroll, the management suddenly cut it off for some reason. But of course that doesn’t stop there because we’re planning to have this to keep me and my family’s health on check.

Why did I mention that Medicard topped it all. Well, here are just some of the reason why.
  • Medicard is one of the companies who started the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) industry.
  • Medicard has been in the industry for more than two decades.
  • Medicard is one of the founding members of the Association of Health Maintenance Organizations of the Philippines or AHMOPI.
  • Medicard is the only HMO that is run and founded by doctors.
  • Medicard members have access to more than 40,000 accredited doctors, specialists and dentists in almost 1,000 accredited hospitals and clinics nationwide
  • Medicard is the first HMO awarded with ISO certification in the Asia Pacific Region
  • Medicard offers a comprehensive healthcare coverage to its members from hospitalization, outpatient, preventive, emergency, member’s financial assistance and dental services.
Now, we’ll be celebrating more of life and health each year!
