STATEMENT On ANGEL LOCSIN Released by ABS CBN

9:47:00 AM

Just recently, Angel Locsin celebrated her birthday, and as kindhearted as she is, she wanted to share the blessing to people that she can reach. Life is uncertain and thankfully there are individuals like Angel who is not only a Darna on-screen but more than a heroine in real life. Because of her personality, people admire her for who is.

Here's a statement released by ABS-CBN on Angel Locsin

ABS-CBN believes in the goodness of the heart of our Kapamilya Angel Locsin, who in her personal capacity has tirelessly helped our countrymen in times of crisis.

We admire her commitment to continue serving the Filipino people with selfless dedication and love.

We stand by her and thank her for being a shining example of generosity, accountability, and compassion.

Angel Locsin and Jane De Leon: Clash of the Old and New Darna

12:47:00 PM

Darna has been one of the iconic heroine comic characters that transcend from a number of generations already. It has moved from one actress to another, highlighting the very personality of the artist playing the role. Looked upon by not just the kids but even the grown-ups who are grasping for hope, inspiration, and strength. Topping it all, Darna is the heroine that is a symbol of woman strength, hope, and compassion.

In our current situation, the pandemic COVID-19 crisis, and the issue about press freedom, we truly need an icon to be our inspiration to move forward. An inspiration that will lead us all as we live with the new norm of our life.

Currently, two of the stars who have been allowed to play the iconic character, Darna, are in a silent online dispute. Are they?

If you can recall that last week after the announcement of the denial of the franchise of the ABS CBN Network, Angel Locsin, coined as the real-life Darna, made a call to her fellow actors to rise and speak up about the shutdown of the network.

“Yong mga Kasamahan kong artista na hindi pa rin nagsasalita. Ano tatahimik na lang kayo? Wala na kayong network? Ano magpapacute na lang kayo sa Instagram?”

With this act, celebrities and personalities expressed their gesture of support. Some went to the rally to join the noise barrage, and others made their way of support on social media. And one of the celebrities who take their support online is Jane De Leon, who is the current bid to play the role of Darna. The gesture is there, but and unfortunately, some lines are a bit off for the netizens.

“My support to the current crisis that the network is facing right now is not just measured by going out in the streets in this time of pandemic. Alam kong para sa nakakarami sa atin, masakit ang closure ng ABS-CBN. Nakiki-isa at nakikisimpatya rin po ako sa mga kapawa ko Kapamilya na nawalan ng kabuhayan.

…. Dadagdag pa ba tayo sa lumolobong bilang at patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID cases sa ating Bansa?....”

In my opinion, the reason that Jane made is a bit out of line. Knowing that the old Darna, Angel Locsin, has been doing her charity works at the start of the COVID-19 spread, even though she knows the risk is high. Jane should have made her statement simpler.

There's a rumor circulating that Angel made a rebut against the statement, and it's unpleasing. Will this be the start of the cold war between the two Darnas? For whatever will be the outcome of the silent or cold war between the two Darna, let us understand that playing the role of Darna is a privilege, and it comes with great responsibility - to give hope, inspiration, and strength.

The General's Daughter Family Bids Farewell and Angel Locsin to Prepare for the Wedding

2:00:00 AM

Mixed emotions, as the crew, directors, and casts of The General's Daughter bid their farewell to everyone. Right before the last week of the teleserye, a press conference was held in Dolphy Theater in ABS CBN where the directors and casts made a Saber Arch entrance.

Present during the press conference were Director Mervyn Brondial and Manny Palo; Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte (LoiNie); JC Devera and Ryza Cenon; Maricel Soriano and Arjo Atayde; Albert Martinez and Eula Valdez; Janice De Belen and Tirso Cruz III; Paulo Avelino and Angel Locsin. It was a magnificent Finale where the casts shared their experiences and what they will miss.

It was clear that each of the casts has truly developed camaraderie or what they really say that it was a family they had made!

It was also shared during the press conference that the directors and casts were always giving their contributions to make the TV series good, entertaining and a must-watch every night, which they did.

As the show ends this coming October 4, Angel Locsin also shared that she'll be prepping for her wedding that's why she'll be taking some time before getting another project. It was also asked if she will still continue to do teleserye something similar with the TGD and her reply was she's still into it and will continue entertain.

It's the last week of The General's Daughter, catch the ending plus the twists and turns until the very end.

Check Your Status in UnOfficially Yours

9:30:00 PM
I'm sure there will be more "kilig moments" this coming February 15, after the celebration of Valentines Day and also lots of couples will be checking their relationship status as well.

Does relationships need labels?  What defines a relationship?  Romance?  Intimacy? Sexual compatibility? honest-to-goodness love? are all just question lingering in every couple.  Relationship does have lots of meanings and reason it's just a matter of how we may define it.

This is the theme for one of the newest movie form Star Cinema, the "UnOfficially Yours"!
Under the direction of the box-office director, Cathy Garcia-Molina, the story of "UnOfficially Yours" starts out with a one night stand of the two lead characters!  "Ito na ang pinaka-matapang kong pelikula as fas as theme is concerned!"  says Director Cathy, "Basically it's a sotry about a guy who believes so much in love then falls in love with someone who doesn't want to fall in love.  Nagkataon kasi na the girl practices casual relationship, non-committal, no ties, ayaw n'y ng boyfriend-girlfriend, basta for fun lang!  Then the character of the guy, gusto s'yang paniwalain ulit sa love, na better pa din pag pormal na relasyon than a casual relationship!' she explains.

Aside from the brave theme, what makes "UnOfficially yours" extremely exciting is that it stars two of the country's most loved and admired actors, John Lloyd cruz and Angel Locsin! "Madaming firsts sa pelikulang 'to!" says John Lloyd, 'First time namin ni Angle sa big screen, first time namin pareho sa ganitong klaseng roles, first time ng Star Cinema na sumabak sa ganitong tema na masasabing taboo pero nangyayari naman talaga sa paligid natin pero hindi lang komportable ang marami na pag-usapan.  It's a bold step to tackle this theme, pero s'yempre with the touch of Star Cinema, talagang puso, 'yung pinaka-puso ng mg acharacters ang mapapanood dito.  This is really something new!  Something  very different!" he tells.  As the movie's theme dictates, the two will be seen in a "hot" love scene, "But that's not the movie's point!"  John Lloyd excliams and furthers, "it will be portrayed pero ang pinka-importante sa kuwento eh 'yung magiging learning ng mg acharacters namin - 'yung tama ba o hindi na i-define ang isang relationship!" he closes.

Angel Locsin, on the other hand has this to say, "gusto naming ipakit asa mga tao kung ano ba ang casual relatioship.

Extremely exciting indeed! "UnOfficially Yours" may just make us all think and rethink our relationships! It's highs and lows, joys and pain, fun and no fun, casual or formal.  "It's still a love sotry! Iba man ang paraan ng pagkukuwento namin dito, at the end of the day, it still talks about love, it talks about how beautiful lov eis!  How better it is to love than not having love at all!"  Director Cathy beams as she closes.

Now, do we really need to define relationship at all?

"UnOfficially Yours" opens on Feburary 15th, 2012 in over 100 theaters nationwide!
