Women Indirectly Described in the Husband Store Story

11:28:00 PM

I really forgot when and where did I heard this story, but this story will surely give a good laugh, but in reality this will make us realize that all of us, not only the women, are not easy to satisfy or insatiable. We always long for something better (negatively) that most of the time leads to greed.

My take on this story is that God has a master plan for all of us and all we need is align with what and where God leads us, then everything will follow. In simplest term “contentment”, be contented on what we have and be thankful that is given to us.

So, since I don't know who the author of this story is, we give credits to whom it is due.

Here’s the story and it is entitled “The Husband Store!”

A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE!

There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is however, a catch …. You may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

On the first floor, the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 – These men have jobs and love the Lord.

The second floor sign reads:

Floor 2 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids.

The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking, “Wow,” she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:

Floor 4 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and help with the housework. “Oh, mercy me!” she exclaims, “I can hardly stand it!”

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 – You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

At the end of the story there's a notice that says, "Please do send this to all men that you know for a good laugh and to all the women who can handle the truth!" It may be truth for the women but let's take it in general. We all like the subject of the story. Our longing for something better tends to make us obsess of what we want that which is the first sign of greediness.

We have to learn to be grateful for what we have. Most of the time when we are ungrateful we end up with nothing.

"Experience JR De Guzman's Music and Comedy Fusion in the "Later That Evening" Show"

7:47:00 AM

On June 3 (Friday) at 7 pm, MYX Global will present "Later That Evening," a comedic and musical performance by JR De Guzman, an internationally acclaimed comedian who was recently recognized as one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch in 2022. The event will take place at The Theatre at Solaire, promising an evening filled with humor and entertainment.

One of the most effective way to engage the audience is music and humor. So if you're fond of this two, well you can actually enjoy both in JR De Guzman's show.

Joining the “StandUp NBC” 2016 winner are his fellow Filipino comedians Red Ollero and Ryan Puno for the opening acts.

Ryan, a comic-writer-actor-director who started the online comedy channel Solid OK, is a headliner of Comedy Manila. He was also featured in “Comedy Central’s Stand-Up, Asia!” alongside JR.

Red has been doing stand-up shows for 16 years and has led sold-out shows in the Music Museum, PMC Spotlight Blackbox Theater, and Samsung Performing Arts Theater. He has also opened for international comedy stars like Jo Koy.

JR is “super excited” to reunite with Ryan and Red whom he has worked with previously in stand-up shows almost a decade ago.

“Later That Evening” is JR’s hit show that has been on tour across the United States and will be on its first-ever Asian leg next month. Audiences love JR’s knack for musical comedy while he talks about his experiences as a Filipino growing up in America and his take on racism. Now, he is ready to bring all the fun to the Philippines.

In MYX’s virtual media conference for “Later That Evening,” JR shared one of his favorite jokes that represent his Filipino upbringing but at the same time seem relatable to most audiences.

“I just talk about how I learned how to sing and play music in the church cause my grandma took me to church like twice a day growing up,” he jested. "Everyone kind of relates to having sort of strict, conservative grandparents. Like every problem you have they tell you to pray.”

The fast-rising comedian also said that there is no limit to the topic that he would consider for his shows. “There is not really anything that I wouldn’t touch if I could make it funny. If it’s a topic that I genuinely think I can have a funny perspective on then I would do it,” he affirmed.

Born in the Philippines and raised in California, JR was also named ‘New Face’ in “Just for Laughs 2017” and got featured in the Netflix special “The Comedy Lineup” and Comedy Central’s “Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City.” He also previously released an album called “Dual Citizen.”

The Manila leg of “Later That Evening” was made possible by MYX, which advocates for Asian music and is on a mission to create a culture that showcases Filipino and Asian talent on a global scale.

Be part of JR’s “Later That Evening” one-night show happening at the Theatre at Solaire on June 3 (Saturday) at 7 pm. 4 Reasons To Watch Jodi Sta. Maria's Latest iWant's "My Single Lady"

2:23:00 PM

iWant features a lot of series and movies these days, and it's releasing one series or film after another. One of its upcoming releases is "My Single Lady," which is produced by the star of the series herself, Ms. Jodi Sta. Maria.

This iWant series features a charming and enlightening take on the life of a single mother with a romantic twist in a modern family comedy setting. The comedy series stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Ian Veneracion, and Zanjoe Marudo. My Single Lady will start streaming on January 22, 2020 (Wednesday).

The comedy series will give you four (4) reasons why watch it and not miss its stream.
  1. Ian Veneracion - yes, his character Mayor Chester will sure get your attention. Not only the hunk dad actor but the role that he portrays. Intriguing assumptions as to why he left Chona.
  2. Zanjoe Marudo - perhaps you have seen him paired with other stars and played the role of a father, which is, by the way, a great addition to this series. It creates a more complicated situation for the lead character Chona. He plays the role of BG, who is a sweet, reliable electrician.
  3. Ynigo Delen - plays the role of Red. The son of Chona who takes much of the attention and the main reason of Chona's being a working single mom.
  4. Jodi Sta. Maria - of course, the main character of this comedy series Chona. An intriguing title to why it is called My Single Lady.
To have a brief background. Jodi is a hardworking and devoted single mother to a six-year-old Red and an avid Regine Velasquez fan.

My Single Lady

Amid various jobs and PTA meetings, a spark starts when she meets sweet, reliable electrician BG, who then vies for her affection. The situation becomes more complicated as running mayor Chester - Red's Missing In Action (MIA) father - returns to the picture and wants to be involved in his son's life. Although adamant at first, Chona eventually allows father and son to bond upon seeing how Red wants to get to know his dad.

Chona further becomes conflicted as Chester also attempts to woo her back. In her confusion, she finds comfort in her three best friends.

My Single Lady

Torn between two handsome men, how will this single mother choose?

The six-part original series features original Regine Velasquez songs and is directed and co-written by Carlo Catu, written by Janina Gacosta, and produced by Jodi Sta. Maria, B617, and Dreamscape Digital.

"My Single Lady" is the comeback project of the well-received Jodi-Ian tandem since "achy Breaky Hearts," and is the first team-up of Jodi and Zanjoe.

The Cast also includes Iyah Mina, Brenda Mage, Vitex Paguirigan, and Carla Martinez.

My Single Lady

Find out how Chona's love life unravels in "My Single Lady," streaming for free on iWant starting January 22, 2020 (Wednesday).

Return of the Comeback Andrew E., Janno Gibbs, and Dennis Padilla in Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo

11:56:00 PM

The trio's return of the comeback, Andrew E., Janno Gibbs, and Dennis Padilla brings back the old-school comedy with their latest movie "SANGGANO, SANGGAGO'T SANGGWAPO". The movie is produced by Viva Films and is under the direction of Al Tantay.

Remember that the three are known for their characters si Astig, si Mokong at si Gamol, which is a bunch of wacky antics.

The movie "Sanggano, sanggao't Sanggwapo" plays the story of Andy, Johnny, and Dondon whose torubled-filled lives get more complicated because of deceit.

Upon the death of millionaire tycoon DonRobert Endrinal, Andy and Dondon (Andrew E. and Padilla) find out that their friend Johnny (Gibbs is actually the son of the departed businessmann, and naturally has the right and responsibility to take over his father's business. But when they arrived at the mansion, the indolent Johnny tells everyone that Andy is Johnny to free himself from any responsibility. The hardworking andy and the cunning Dondon play along with this charade.

Now that the three friends are thrust into a life of affluence and pwoer, flirtatious women are not far behind. They also have to deal with a certain Mr. Russel (Eddie Garcia), a land developer determined to acquire Johnny's hacienda, turn it into a casino complex and make the whole province a gambling capital.

To what lengths will Andy, Johnny, and Dondon go to protect the hacienda and keep their secret at the same time?

"Sanggano, Sanggago't Snaggwapo", with the tradition of the trio, will not be complete without the leading ladies or love interests of the characters which are played by Louise delos Reyes, Cindy Miranda and Vanessa Wright.

Julian Trono, Vitto marquez, and Andrew Muhlach appear as the young versions of Andy, Johnny, and Dondon.

As what they have mentioned during the press conference, it is not the comedy of the actors but the way how viewers see the story and the patterns.

If you're one of the batang 90's well you'll definitely love the trio and bring back some old memories watching them.

"Sanggano, Sanggago, and Sanggwapo" will make your tummies on September 4.

Amnesia Love, Paolo and Yam's Love Team You Should Not Forget

12:36:00 AM

Amnesia is trauma experienced by the brain that tends to forget certain memories and that's what Amnesia Love is all about. The mind can forget but not the body. As the month of February ends and for the bitter ones or those who tends to be single or the ones left behind, perhaps it's about time to forget the past and move on but before forgetting it all, Viva Films invites you to join in the fun as award-winning actor Paolo Ballesteros plays a guy trying to discover his true identity in “Amnesia Love”.
Found unconscious by the beach in a remote island in Zambales, the character of Paolo Ballesteros is taken in by a compassionate couple (Lander Vera-Perez and Maricel Morales ). When he wakes up, he cannot remember his name nor anything else. The couple’s daughter (Yam Concepcion) is skeptical about this guy’s condition, but is left with no choice but to let him stay in their home. Romance starts to brew between the two, but this amnesia patient displays some acts that are not exactly manly, and finds himself distracted by the sight of attractive men. When somebody from his past comes to shed light on who and what he really is, will the answers bring him peace or mayhem?

With a Best Actor award each from Tokyo Film Festival and Metro Manila Film Festival under his belt, Ballesteros said in an interview that he wants to keep making movies that would make people think. “Mapag-iisip yung tao…I want a good film na worth yung pagod.”
This outlook is shared by director Albert Langitan, who has worn different hats in the world of local production. He started out as a scriptwriter, then went on to direct reality shows and teleseryes such as Impostora and Super Ma’am. It is interesting to see how Langitan’s creative eye and Ballesteros’ passion for his craft work together to bring viewers a laugh-out-loud movie that’s hard to forget.

Adding spice to the film is Viva’s versatile actress, Yam Concepcion who was first launched to stardom via Erik Matti’s adult drama “Rigodon”. “Amnesia Love” is Paolo and Yam’s reunion film. They worked together in the 2016 Blockbuster movie, “Bakit Lahat Ng Gwapo May Boyfriend” with kapuso star Dennis Trillo and the Princess of All Media, Anne Curtis.
Joining Paolo, Yam, Lander and Maricel in the cast are Polo Ravales, Vandolf Quizon, Geleen Eugenio and Sinon Loresca.

“Amnesia Love” is showing in cinemas nationwide, starting February 28, 2018.

3 Reasons Why "The Revenger Squad" is A Hit for Kids

5:25:00 PM
Well aware that movies created by Star Cinema is a hit and much more is when its actors are known to be a box office hit maker like Vice Ganda, for this yuletide season a reason to hit cinema and a new reason to be fun and merry with the adventure-comedy film "The Revenger Squad".

From the Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda with Daniel Padilla, and introducing 2015 Miss Universe Ms. Pia Wurtzbach in her comeback film role after her win, "The Revenger Squad" is one of the movie entry for the 43rd Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) under the label of Star Cinema and Viva Films.

The Revengers Squad marks the coming together of Vice Ganda, Padilla, Wurtzbach, and director Bb. Joyce Bernal – a certified dream team composed of talented members who are individually considered as four of the country’s biggest entertainment icons.

There are 3 reasons that we have realized why "The Revenger Squad" is a hit with the kids and I'm sure you would want to know it.

First reason, "The Revenger Squad" implores a vey vibrant colors that kids are easily attracted with. They show much attention when they are given a photo of video with vibrant, warm and active colors.

Second reason, Vice Ganda is a hit maker and idolized by kids, Daniel Padilla is also an idol and lastly Pia Wurtzbach is a beauty queen idol. Now who wouldn't want to see them together as they play they funny antics, drama and adventure. Kids love to see their idols and when they watch the movie it is not just them that will watch but the whole family as well.

Lastly, Kids easily laugh and their innocence make it more convincing to encourage others to watch the movie. No money is not an option when it comes to the little ones. Parents would love to see their kids happy, especially during the holidays and to add "minsan lang sila bata."

Adding color to the lineup of stars is Wurtzbach, who created international headlines when she was crowned Miss Universe in the historic Miss Universe 2015 pageant. She snatched the coveted title and brought a well-deserved honor to the Philippines and to every Filipino in the most dramatic of fashions, transcending her status from celebrity to the exhilarating level of both national hero and national treasure.

Under the helm of Bernal and written by Danno Mariquit, “The Revenger Squad” marks a lot of firsts for Vice, Padilla, and Wurtzbach. This is the first time that Vice Ganda and Padilla will be doing a superhero film, with the latter also trying his hand in comedy the first time. Meantime, this is the big screen debut of Wurtzbach after her big win.
The story of “The Revenger Squad” revolves around makeup and rags reseller Emy (Vice Ganda) who, despite his faulty memory, never forgets to guard his younger brother Chino (Daniel Padilla) from harm – to the point of becoming overprotective of his younger brother. The fun begins when Chino turns 21 and Emy remembers the truth about them – that he is the superhero Gandarra and that Chino’s super abilities will soon activate now that he is an adult. Wanting to shelter Chino from the dangers of being a superhero, Emy keeps the truth from his brother and becomes even more protective.
This, until a new superhero emerges, Rapiddo, who Emy discovers is his younger brother Chino. He then decides to become Gandarra again to secretly help and protect his brother. Together with Emy’s super best buddies, Gandarra and Rapiddo become a squad of superheroes who treat each other as family.

The conflict begins when the eccentric superhero Kweenie (Pia Wurtzbach) enters their lives and drops the truth that could break their family.
Completing the team of Gandarra, Kweenie, and Rapiddo are the motley group of lovable super heroes namely Barna (Carla Estrada), Higopa (MC Calaquian), Flawlessa (Lassy Marquez), Pospora (Wacky Kiray), and Enrique Heal (JJ Quilantang).

What makes a hero super? Is it special abilities and superpowers? Or is it the innate ability of the hero to love? Will love, laughter, and joy save the day from the forces of evil?

Woke Up Like This, Vhong Navarro and Lovi Poe Switched

9:11:00 AM

Today's news, Vhong Navarro and Lovi Poe switched bodies!

As of the moment, no one knows how it happened and why it happened. No one even knows how long they will be like that. So, if you want to know more about them, hit the cinema and watch the movie "Woke Up Like This" that brought back together prime comedian Vhong Navarro and prime actress Lovi Poe. This is their comeback movie together, a funny hilarious, riotous and wackiest movie from Regal Entertainment. It is directed by Joel Ferrer and the story is written by a wackiest duo, Jeff, and Joma. They are some of the writers who do great comedy scripts in the industry.

Vhong and Lovi last paired in one of the episodes of "Shake, Rattle, and Roll XVI" where they brought a spine chilling experience to movie goers. This time it is something different, something refreshing and very millennial. Though the story of body switching is not new, the writers, director, and casts assured that this is something different. Funny, hilarious and crazy, this film brings out the funny side of Lovi and the feminine side of Vhong.

Vhong also shared that the movie is somewhat similar to the film Hot Chick, where body and soul of the main characters switched.

In "WULT," Vhong made sure that the audiences would be even more entertained with his comic antics. He plays the role of Lando, dubbed as the king of the Basketball Court. A hardcore cager, he is a dutiful son who takes on the role of the head of the family after his father (played by Joey Marquez) meets an accident and injures himself on the court.

Unfortunately, Lando can be unsportsmanly at play and his dream of being part of a big basketball league is sidelined when he wakes up one day being in the body of a woman he doesn't even know.

Lovi plays the character Sabrina, tagged as the Ramp Queen. Beautiful, sexy, and very competitive.

Her fate as a most sought-after model vying for the Supermodel of the Whole Wide Philippines title will change when she finds herself trapped in a man's body.

The switch of Lando and Sabrina's body is a mystery that made the "WULT" movie an endless turn of comic situations.

Also this the "WULT" movie is also the comeback partnering of Vhong and Bayani.

"WULT" is helmed by new director Joel Ferrer. He is an actor, writer, and director best known for his projects like "Baka Siguro (2015), "Blue Bustamante (2013) and "Hello World" (2013). His works have been cited for their clever dialogue and conversational comedy. "WULT" is his directorial debut for mainstream cinema.

"WULT" is also cast by some of the best comedians like Joey Marquez and Bayani Agabayani.

Sexy Pinoy Big Brother alumnus Cora Wadeell is being introduced in the film while Dionne Monsanto, Ynna Asistio and child actor Raikko Mateo plays some of the important roles in the film.

Teaser has already made everyone laugh and it will definitely spread belly laughs in cinemas nationwide on August 23. "Woke Up Like This" is the latest offering of Regal Entertainment, the same company that produced Ai-Ai de las Alas' blockbuster hit, "Our Mighty Yaya."
