PMAP's Stand : on Labor Laws, Other Issues and the 56th PMAP Annual Conference

Earlier this July, People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) held a press conference at Astoria Plaza to share what organization stands for with regards to the work force and labor laws. Present during the press conference are practitioners and experts in the people management industry namely Mr. Efren B. Alberto, Jr., DPM is one of 2019 PMAP Board of Trustee with 45 years of experience in all facets of human resource management and corporate relations; Atty. Rey Destura, is an active Committee Member of PMAP labor Policy reforms and Industrial Relations Committee; Ms. Ellen Fullido is the Vice President for HR & Administrative Services of the FJ Elizalde Group of Companies, for more that 25 years of work experience in the field of Human Resource Management and Office Administration gained from manufacturing, sales and service, pre need, healthcare, real estate, petrochemical and media/entertainment industries; Mr. Jesse Francis Rebustillo is the 2016 PMAP President who have previously served as the AVP for Industrial Relations & Corporate Human Resources Head for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, now a Management & Human Resource Consultant, Seminar Facilitator, and Speaker; Ms Lousa Mila V. Echevarria, FPM, the 2019 PMAP Vice President, a seasoned HR practitioner and consultant with over 35 years of experience in general management and various facets of human resources in different industries particularly in manufacturing; Mr. Leo Gellor, AFPM, 2019 PMAP Board Secretary, is an experienced leader with experience in different industries like food service, media and general management.

Members of the media present during the conference were given bits of information about the current labor laws and policies that affects both the work force and the business. As what was explained it needs to have a balance to make the businesses and employees coexists in the industry. Also, there were issues raised like the endo and contractualization. As part also of the annual event of PMAP where matters about human resource and people management are discussed and uplifted, the organization will be having its 56th PMAP Annual Conference on July 17-19, 2019 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino where over 1,500 people managers will gather together for this biggest and preeminent HR event in the country.

PMAP Brings Dr. Peter Senge on Its GMM

The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) welcomes Dr. Peter Senge, Ph.D. as one of the guest speakers on its 633rd General Membership Meeting (GMM) at Shangri-la Hotel the Fort, BGC on Februrary 23, 2018 , 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM . One of the world’s widely known innovative thinkers about management and leadership, he will talk and share thoughts about his book “The Fifth Discipline.’ This is a great opportunity for Filipino People Managers and individuals to learn more from him.

Dr. Senge is a Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management and the Founder of the Society for Organizational Learning (SOL). He received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford University and later earned an M.S. in social systems modelling from MIT as well as a PhD in Management. His book “The Fifth Discipline” in which he  identified the notion of a learning organization was recognized by Harvard Business Review as one of the seminal management books of the last 75 years. With his work, he was dubbed as “Strategist of the Century” by the Journal of Business Strategy. Other works are The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook (1994); The Dance of Change (1999); Schools That Learn (2000) and Presence (2004).

PMAP Project sHaRe: Strengthening Human Resource Management

PMAP Holds HR Innovation Summit on July 19

The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), the premier organization of people managers and HR practitioners, will hold the “HR Innovation Summit” at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria (Ortigas Center) on July 19, 2017 (9:00 am to 5:00 pm). This momentous event will feature industry experts and distinguished practitioners here and abroad to share their knowledge and innovative ideas that will equip organizations in developing employees to thrive in the opportunities and challenges today and in the future.

PMAP Holds Asia Pacific HR Best Practices Forum

Learn More with PMAP's Industrial Relations Forum On ANTI-AGE DISCRIMINATION in Employment, OSH, AND CBA Negotiations

Here's your chance to learn more about the recently passed Anti-Age Discrimination in Employment Act. If there's an anti-bullying, this one is about age discrimination in employment.

The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), the premier organization of people managers and HR practitioners in the country, will hold an Industrial Relations Forum on the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Anti-Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Issues on Occupational Safety and Health Inspection, and CBA Negotiation at the Meralco Multi-Purpose Hall in Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City on March 15, 2017 (9:00am to 5:00pm).

The distinguished resource speakers of this timely and relevant event are Dr. Ma. Teresita Cucueco, Director of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Bureau of Working Conditions; Atty. Emerico de Guzman, DPM, 2006 PMAP President and Managing Partner of Accra Law; and Atty. Noel D. Balsicas, CPA, Chairperson of the PMAP Labor Policy Reforms and Industrial Relations Committee.

Topics to be discussed are the IRR of Anti-Age Discrimination in Employment Act; Issues on OSH Inspection; Fundamental and Legal Framework of Collective Bargaining; Best Practice Cases of Collective Bargaining Negotiations; and Red Flags to watch out in Collective Bargaining Negotiations.
