Dynamic Duo: Kathryn & Min Bernardo, AIA Philippines' Newest Brand Ambassadors

5:26:00 AM

AIA Philippines, the leading life insurance company in the country, has just revealed that popular actress Kathryn Bernardo and her mother, Min, have joined the company as brand ambassadors.

Kathryn and Min Bernardo were officially introduced to the public through a reveal in the company’s social media assets, giving AIA followers a first peek into Kathryn and Min’s very special vlog.

The mother and daughter duo gave viewers a glimpse of their personal lives, which have not been previously shared publicly. They stopped by a local ube halaya vendor which made Min reminisce her pregnancy with Kathryn. “Not sure kung alam ninyo ito—kaya ganyan yung skin ni Kath ay dahil pinaglihi ko sya sa ube!” revealed Min. Min also shared their regular after school trips to the bookstore, where Kathryn asked her Mama to buy little trinkets, which she indulged as gift giving is one of her love languages.

Coincidentally, Min was once a Cabanatuan-based financial advisor of AIA Philippines—a decision she made after experiencing a life-changing event which prompted her to protect her family with life insurance, and finally say yes to becoming a financial advisor. “Out of that bad experience came something good. Kumuha ako agad ng life insurance. Then it became a career. Nagtatop ako sa branch namin at the same time, nakakatulong ako sa ibang tao. Natulungan ko sila to understand kung ano ang life insurance at kung gaano ka important ito,” Min shared. The experience made Min an ideal person to encourage people to get the protection they need so they can enjoy a secure future no matter what happens.

Min’s short-lived career with AIA Philippines allowed her to better contribute to the family, and help her clients become worry-free with the protection products she was able to offer them. In her one year as an advisor, she became a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a select group of financial advisors who are considered at the top of their field. Unfortunately, she could no longer continue after a few years, with Kathryn’s career starting to flourish in Manila.

Kathryn and Min Bernardo are great examples of how AIA Philippines has been instrumental in helping families save lives and protect dreams, despite untoward life events. This is why Kathryn and Min are the perfect duo to represent how AIA Philippines can help Filipinos.

“We at AIA Philippines are excited to welcome Kathryn and Min Bernardo to the AIA family. Through them, we will be able to reach more people and communicate the importance of our mission of racing against risk to protect every Filipino family and empower them to live healthier, longer, better lives,” said Kelvin Ang, AIA Philippines CEO. “As someone who has first-hand account of what happens to a family who was not protected, I can’t stress enough the value of life insurance as an expression of love to those who matter most to us—our families. And Min has experienced it too. This understanding of our mission makes Kathryn and Min the best people to help us spread the word on how love can be better said with AIA.”

Kathryn and Min Bernardo join other influential figures in the Philippines—Gary Valenciano, Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico, and Wil Dasovich—as AIA Philippines ambassadors, individuals who help bring to life its brand Purpose of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives.

Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo in An Action Themed Commercial of PayMaya with their Balikbayad Campaign

2:43:00 AM

Dressed in green and blue, Kathry Bernardo and Daniel Padilla appeared in a media launch of PayMaya in a James Bond themed event. It was more than a year when the two are seen together on screen, fans were very much delighted seeing the two together partnering to bring campaign to the public. “Teen Royalties” Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla played in this action-packed project that sees them sharing the many perks and rewards of going cashless through PayMaya’s “BalikBayad” campaign.

Serving as a follow-up to PayMaya’s widely successful “Don’t Pay Cash. PayMaya!” campaign last year which gave birth to a catchy video and jingle set to the tune of the hit ‘90’s Eraserheads song “Ligaya,” the “BalikBayad” campaign sees Kathryn and Daniel in action-packed scenes teaming up to beat a common foe–cash.

Set as a typical ‘90’s action movie complete with guns, goons, and even the penultimate “Pinoy Kontrabida” in the form of Rez Cortez, the campaign video features the two young celebrities using the powers of PayMaya to tackle everyday transactions that are typically paid with cash, such as grocery shopping, paying bills, buying load, and online shopping, among many others.

“We’re very excited to have KathNiel representing the ‘BalikBayad’ campaign, because just as these two big celebrity icons have made a comeback for PayMaya this year, our users can also expect something to come back–in the form of cashback–every time they use PayMaya instead of cash,” said Mark Jason Dee, Head of Growth and Marketing of PayMaya.

“PayMaya is a young and fun brand and we’re definitely lucky to have collaborated with Kathryn and Daniel in this campaign, because they represent the exciting and energetic lifestyles of most of our users,” Dee added.

Filipinos can get in on the most rewarding mobile wallet experience by downloading the PayMaya app on their iOS or Android devices and using the code PAYMAYAKATHNIEL upon signing up to get an instant reward, apart from the many other cashback and discount perks they can get by being a PayMaya user.

In February alone, PayMaya users can get as much as P6,000 in cashback when they participate in the mobile wallet’s various promos for bills payment, buying load, paying for goods and services via QR, online shopping, and sending money, among many others.

PayMaya has also expanded the list of merchants and establishments under its PayMaya Preferred program, which gives additional cashback to users who scan to pay with PayMaya QR on top of the regular cashback that they usually receive. Some of these new partners include Landers Superstore, Mercury Drug, KFC, Robinson’s Department Store, Total Alabang and Valenzuela, and Toys ‘R Us, among many others.

Bringing back time and convenience

But aside from getting monetary rewards in the form of cashback every time they pay, users are also able to make more time and experience greater convenience when they use PayMaya.

With PayMaya’s virtual card, for example, users can instantly gain access to a payment card which they can easily use for online shopping and other digital payments for a faster, more efficient payment experience.

PayMaya also recently introduced the ability to transfer money from users’ PayMaya account to other bank accounts, eliminating the need to wait in line at bank branches in order to make a bank deposit.

“PayMaya users can definitely look forward to even more features and services that will give them more convenient ways to pay as well as awesome rewards in the months to come,” Dee added.

5 Ways To Say Hello

10:25:00 PM

The first word that we usually initiate when we meet friends, family or relatives. It's a five letter word that greets and make connection. Sometimes it's an ice breaker, a way to tear down that wall between two persons. It's entertaining and sometimes interesting that there are different ways how the word hello is conveyed to each person but there are some that commonly used to establish that link.

Though we differ in culture and means of communication, still, the heart of being human tops everything. So, to give you some few details about saying hello, well, I've listed down my categories and some few different ways of saying hello.

1. The General Hello. Perhaps the best introduction and the easiest way to break silence and start conversation. Commonly an introduction starts with hello and the rest is history.

2. The Sexy Hello. Probably work on different genders. An interesting way of triggering the erotic and sexy side of a person. A way to strike the opposite gender that you're in for something interesting to happen.

3. Angry or irritated Hello. Though it's really rare for people to greet angrily, it still varies on the mood of the one saying hello. Sometimes irritated for some circumstances that might have affected the individual.

4. Concerned Hello. This show both sympathy and empathy, the person saying hello does nit only communicate but also links his or her emotion to the person. Making sure that they are on his back in times of trouble.

5. Shocked or startled Hello. Just like the angry hello, shocked or startled shows surprised about the situation.

The list are just some of the different kinds of hello that we give to people we meet. Often, these are the day to day greetings that we share. In the movie "HELLO, LOVE, GOODBYE", which starts in hello, tells about the story of two Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Hong Kong who bought seeks different reasons why they are working abroad, one is the character of Joy which is played by Kathryn Bernardo, who is a domestic helper who dedicated her life to provide for her family while the character of Ethan is played by Alden Richards who is a guy who relentlessly pursuing Joy.

Their story starts with hello and the rest is for us to discover on July 31!
