PIZZA HUT PUSHES FOR JUAN TIME IN PRE-NEW YEAR COUNTDOWN

3:07:00 AM

Last night was an on time event that made most of the by-standers, viewers, media and guests synchronize their timepiece with the Philippine Standard Time as Pizza Hut pushes for Juan Time in celebration of the coming New Year.   Of course yours truly did the synchronization as well so prayerfully this coming year there will be no more tardiness for me.

The Juan Time Pre-New Year Countdown was initiated by Pizza Hut with the partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Discovery Channel.  The synchronization was led by Pizza Hut's Brand Ambassadress' Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj viewing the Philippine Standard Time on a giant timepiece of Timex.   After the synchronization, the much awaited countdown for the fireworks commenced and everyone enjoyed the fireworks display.

The JUAN TIME encourages everyone to set their timepieces to Philippine Standard Time you can visit www.pizzahut.com.ph or the DOST site www.dost.gov.ph.   Let's all set our time JUAN TIME!

Read more about Pizza Hut's Juan Time

To unite the 7,100 islands in one time.

This was the main objective of the recent pre-New Year countdown at the Araneta Center launched by Pizza Hut with beauty queens Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup.

A day before the fireworks erupted in the metro to usher in 2012, Pizza Hut, together with partners Discovery Channel and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) emphasized the need for Juan Time, the new and more productive concept of Filipino time that espouses punctuality. The campaign aims to synchronize all timepieces in the country’s more than 7,000 islands to Philippine Standard Time. DOST’s “Juan Time” (a word play on one time and Juan), shows that keeping to the Philippine Standard Time prevents the difficulties of having unsynchronized and confusing time.

Established decades ago, Philippine Standard Time is set by DOST’s Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the country’s official timekeeper since 1978.

“Juan Time” is an advocacy that is very much in line with Pizza Hut’s own “Hate Late” campaign that focuses on being on time, all the time. This is the reason why Pizza Hut deliveries are always on hot on the dot, reaching a near perfect 99.8% of on time deliveries. With this, Pizza Hut has helped reverse the previous negative connotation of Filipino Time and has upgraded this to “Juan Time” which is synonymous with punctuality and productivity.

Even international beauty queens appreciate the value of being on time in their lives.

Venus Raj says, “Pizza Hut is Philippine Standard Time or Juan Time. Dapat iisa lang ang reference natin ng oras para lagi tayong on time. If we all have the same time, there is a better chance for us to be punctual in our commitments.” Shamcey Supsup on the other hand enthuses, “Time is a resource that is very important but oftentimes overlooked. In order to reach our personal and professional goals in the coming year, we have to be more conscious of our time and to use it productively. One minute wasted is one minute gone forever.”

The “Juan Time” advocacy in Pizza Hut is not a one-day affair. On the contrary, this is targeted at being a continuing campaign among Filipino people to be always on time.

The pre-New Year countdown and synchronization of timepieces took the mold of a New Year’s party with simultaneous performances of chorales, marching bands, drum beaters and dancing delivery rider performances. The festivities started with the Magical Parade of Lights that circled the Araneta Center. After this, Venus and Shamcey led the countdown to setting everyone’s watches in sync with Philippine Standard Time. This was followed by much fanfare, dancing and a spectacular fireworks display.

Pizza Hut’s Marketing Manager Raymund Nobleza says, “we hope that Juan Time encourages all Filipinos to junk the habit of being late and making excuses for this. As we embark on a brand new year, we wish champion this mindset of being on time so that we all have a better chance of reaching our goals in the coming year.” Nobleza also assures Pizza Hut customers, “you can be sure that Juan Time is Pizza Hut Time and that we will always be hot on the dot.”

Pizza Hut is home to the country’s Pinaka-Pizza, serving awesome food with fast and friendly service. For more awesome dishes, check out Pizza Hut’s website at www.pizzahut.com.ph , dial 911-1111 for deliveries in Metro Manila or be a fan of Pizza Hut on Facebook.

My Househusband: Ikaw Na! A Good Movie To Watch

10:11:00 PM

Metro Manila Film Festival or MMFF has always been anticipated by most Filipinos, especially this holiday season.

Last week was a great chance to be part of few chosen bloggers who attended the conference made by OctoArts Films.  The movie was something that is in time and practical.  It reaches the depth of a family who's the bread winner becomes the keeper of the house.  The movie was entitled "My Househusband: Ikaw Na! a family oriented movie that tackles the life of a husband who becomes the light of the house.

The movie was starred by none other than the great couple Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos together with the other great stars Eugene Domingo and other more, this movie is directed by one of the great director Joey Reyes.

The event was solely made for bloggers which provided a chance for the attendees to ask questions about the movie and of course about the actors lives as well.  Great questions were given by most bloggers and of course truth and honest answers were provided by the cast of the movie.

A little bit about the characters of the movie.  Ryan Agoncillo plays the part of Rod, a man who is a bank manger one day then househusband the next;  Judy Ann Santos, who plays the role of Mia, a mother and wife who is the sole breadwinner of her family; and Eugene Domingo as Aida, a mistress who happens to be Rod and Mia's neighbor.

I have seen the trailer of the movie and I find it interesting to watch and perhaps a lot of things to learn in life.  So for those who want to watch the movie visit the cinemas on December 25 and of course watch the other movies in the MMFF too.

Pinoy Homecoming, A treat for Pinoys Coming Home

3:12:00 PM

Last week, I was able to attend an event at Diosdado Macapagal International Airport or commonly called in Clark as DMIA. The highlights of the activity are the unveiling ceremony of the DMIA Hospitality Counter and Pinoy Homecoming Program Presentation to Region III.

The event was attended by different agencies inside Clark, different media not only local but Medias from nearby countries as well, and of course bloggers were there too to witness the unveiling.

Before the unveiling, guests were entertained by the local folk dancers while waiting for the program to start. It is sure that Pinoys coming home will have a smile in their face seeing these folk dancers dancing with great joy.

The Pinoy Homecoming Hospitality Counter in DMIA is a Project of Department of Tourism partnered with Globe Telecom and other participating merchants.

The unveiling was headed by ASec Domingo Ramon C. Enerio III together with the other partners and managers. Learn more of the story…

Press Release...
Balikbayans arriving at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) in Pampanga, will experience their warmest welcome yet with the opening of the Pinoy Homecoming Hospitality Counter at the airport on November 29.

Spearheaded by the Department of Tourism (DOT), the homecoming counter is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to boost visitor arrivals from the balikbayan market by 25 percent in the next five years. Dubbed as the Pinoy Homecoming campaign, it primarily targets Filipinos based overseas, not only in the United States and Canada but worldwide.

A result of Presidential Proclamation No. 181 “Declaring the Years 2011 to 2016 as the Pinoy Homecoming Years” signed on June 3, 2011, the campaign supports Republic Act No. 6768, as amended, or the “Balikbayan Program.” Under the Balikbayan Program, overseas Filipinos (OFs) are given special privileges and benefits in recognition of their contribution to the growth of the Philippine economy in terms of foreign exchange inflow and remittances.

“This is a campaign that recognizes three things: the invaluable contributions of Filipinos overseas, our urgent need to develop and promote Philippine tourism further and how much can be achieved when government agencies work together,” shares DOT Secretary Ramon Jimenez. “We also have to tap into the market of second and third generation Filipinos abroad and encourage them to discover their roots.”

To reach this set of younger Filipino abroad, the campaign also has a digital marketing component. Through the website www.pinoyhomecoming.ph, Pinoys abroad can easily access Philippine news portals, tourism products and services, practical balikbayan tips, Philippine holiday and festival calendars, as well as a directory of industry partners and the contact details of DOT’s international offices.

The campaign is supported by Globe Telecom, Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) and the over 700 partner-merchants nationwide. For more information on the campaign and balikbayan benefits, contact the Pinoy Homecoming Secretariat at (632) 525-1255, (632) 525-9318 local 268 or 244; fax to (632) 521-6165, or e-mail at tts@dotpcvc.gov.ph .

Ducati's Monster 795

8:31:00 AM

I think mos to of us guys have always wanted to have those cool big bikes.  The sleek style, the jagged designs, and the roaring sound of their mufflers.  That's an ideal big bike!

I remember during my teenage days I get to know those motorbike brands and models through the game called Super Tramp which showcase the different types of airplanes, cars, battle tanks, missiles and motorbikes.  That's where I first read about the term "cc".  Not really sure about it but all I know is that the higher the number the greater the speed.  I don't if that game is still played today.

There are different brands of big bikes but there is one brand that is considered luxurious and well known, that is the Ducati.

Ducati is founded in 1962, Ducati has been producing sport-inspired motorcycles since 1946.  Their motorcycles are characterized by "Desmodromic" performance engines, innovative design and avant-garde technology.  Covering several market segments, Ducati's range of motorcycles are divided into model families which include: Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster, Multistrada, Streetfighter and Superbike.  These authentic icons of "made in Italy" are sold over 80 countries around the world, with concentration on the European, North-American and Asia Pacific markets.

Knowing Ducati as silent moving giant, they are introducing one of their model that would target the yuppies market.  They wanted more younger generation to own a Ducati.  Introducing the Monster 795!  This is an 800 cc bike, good speed that is rightfully good to run in an expressway.  The Monster 795 is an addition to the line-up that combines the user friendliness of the 696 with the sport character of the 796.  Delivering 87hp (64 kW), with a dry weight of just 167 kg (368 lb), the stylish new Monster 795 adds the magic of mid-range to the Monster family for our enthusiasts in Asia.

With the Desomodue 796 engine at the heart the machine, a double sided swingarm and revised ergonomics, the Monster 795 perfectly balances lifestyle performance with everyday functionality to enhance the original Monster spirit.

Dressed in Ducati red, with a bright red Trellis frame, the Monster 795 can be further personalized with an additional 10 colour scheme from the innovative Monster Art program, which features the latest collection "Logomania".

So what are the features of the Monster 795?  Here it is...

Ducati has continued to listen to its passionate Monster owners, using their valuable feedbacks for the designs of the new Monster 795.  The riding position has been revised by reducing the 796's height from a full 800mm (31.5inc) to 770mm (30.3in).  The combination of redesigning the seat shape and raising the handlebars by 20mm (0.8in) has improved posture and increased comfort.  With a dry weight of just 167kg (368lb), thanks to the lightweight engine, the new naked inspires confidence, making life simpler in the crowded cities all over Asia.

In pure Monster style, the entire chassis set-up is unified into a sturdy, great handling package by a bright red Trellis frame.  Lightweight, with incredible torsional stiffness, the large diamater tube construction flows into the cast aluminium rear sub-frame matches the matte black rear swingarm.

Twin 320mm semi-floating discs are gripped by radially mounted 4-piston Brembo callipers to provide powerful and progressive front-end braking with rider-friendly "feeling", while the rear is equipped with a 245mm disc and 2-piston calliper, also by Brembo.

The 17" wheels are in the 3 spoke style and produced in lightweight aluminium to keep the unsprung weight  low and handling, braking and acceleration performances high.  They roll on the 120/60 and 160/60 Pirelli Angel ST tyres.

To know more about the specification of the Monster 795 just visit it here Ducati Monster 795 specs.
Whew! Quite good features.  For sure even the not-so-bike-enthusiast would understand it clearly.

Diamond Records Awards for Christian Bautista & Sponge Cola

4:18:00 PM
It was really quite a feeling for a blogger to have been a part of the success of different people.  Though it was indirectly and virtually, at least I get a share of their success through my writings on this blog.  Specially that it is about the success of OPM Artists.

I was able to watched the awarding in ASAP and together with the other OPM Artists they received recognition like the Platinum Records Awards.  Yes!  Two of OPM Artist whom I have attended their blogger's night event and also written something about them have made it to receive a Diamond Records Awards.  Congratulations to Christian Bautista and Sponge Cola for their Diamond Records Awards.

It was double victory for Universal Records when two of its flagship artists Christian Bautista and Sponge Cola received Diamond Record Awards for their albums A Wonderful Christmas, and Tambay, respectively.

Christian’s A Wonderful Christmas includes Christian’s heartfelt renditions of Nakaraang Pasko, Gloria, Little Drummer Boy, Christmas Shoes, What A Wonderful World, among others.
“I feel so blessed with this recognition,” says Christian. “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this possible. I will be eternally grateful.”

Sponge Cola’s Tambay, on the other hand, is one of the year’s biggest hits.

Because of their achievement, Christian and Sponge Cola were also elevated to ASAP’s Elite Platinum Circle, alongside music legends Sharon Cuneta, Freddie Aguilar, Jose Mari Chan, among others.

A Wonderful Christmas and Christian’s latest album Outbound, which includes the hit All That’s Left, are still available. While, Sponge Cola’s newest album Araw. Oras. Tagpuan., which contains Tambay, is also available.

BonPen Festival Experience: Kulinarya

9:00:00 PM

One of the highlights of the BonPen Festival was their culinary activity which was dubbed as Kulinarya BonPen, featuring the meat of the Guinea Fowl (Bengala) and the Goat's meat.  The aim of this culinary event is to showcase other alternative meats for cooking and they have chosen the Bengala and Goat meat which are now commonly raised in the district of the Bondoc Peninsula.  The local government wanted the Bondoc Peninsula to be known also for these meat products and different dishes out of it.

Different culinary schools and agencies participated in this competition.  Of course, they have divided the competition into two categories, one is for the amateurs and the other one is for the professionals.  For both the amateur and the professional they have three members in each team and they have a specific span of time to finish their chosen dishes.  Of course, prizes await for the winners and the prestige to be known as the first champion of the Kulinarya BonPen.  I'm not really sure if the BonPen Festival organizers will sure the winning recipe as the official dish of the BonPen Festival.

Of course, an event would not be complete without a celebrity chef and for this event, they have invited Chef Tristan who we commonly see in commercials endorsing food products.  His quite more appealing in person.  Chef Tristan made a simple cooking demonstration of the goat meat which made most of the ladies go loco.

Since we, bloggers, are invited they choose five among us to be their judges for the Kulinarya BonPen.  Unfortunately I was not chosen but fortunately because some of the remaining bloggers get a chance to roam around first and get a chance to know some part of the history of the place but of course, we did enjoy first the cooking event.  I did get some great shots of foods as well.  Seeing those dishes makes me crave to taste more of it.  This makes my tummy really full.  They are all mouthwatering! Most of us got our picks and bet of who will win and luckily my bet wins and bagged the first prize.  The dish got a distinct taste and an exquisite plating.  I'm not much of a cook but I can say what my tongue can taste and my eyes can see.  It's like a dish made in some of the great cooking shows.

The winning dish
It's a great experience and hopefully next year I would be invited again and perhaps by that time I get a chance to judge them.

Experiencing the Race for Life

9:00:00 PM

My 2nd run after the unanticipated first official run in Quezon Province.  I think I'll be starting my running enthusiasm again.  Though this event is annually celebrated, this is my very first time to join the Race for Life event.  Thanks to Chris Sports for having us join this running event.

For some reason or perhaps due to the physical fitness program of the office where I'm working with some of my officemates were there also at the event.  At first I didn't know that the running event they are joining was the Race for Life.  Most of my co-workers are surprised that I was there and they've thought that I joined the run through my own means.   For the record since it was the fitness program of the company most of the employees who will join are covered by the office.  Well, good for those who truly and did run.  For me, I was delighted because Chris Sports were gracious enough to include me in the running event through the great effort of Jeman and Ms. Arlene.  Thanks to those wonderful people!

Waking up and traveling early dawn was something that I have missed.  It's been rare that I do travel at a very early dawn.  So for this specific day it was really an effort.  Aside from the venue is totally far away from my place, I'm not sure and familiar also with the transportation schedule, especially at early dawn.

I got to the place, relaxed and was able to met some familiar face whom I have not met for quite some time.  Also I took time to chat with some of the bloggers and my officemates as well.  Few minutes before the run I prepared myself with the notion of breaking my first 35 minute run.

Bang!  The signal for the 10k run echoed, afterwards 5k runners were called to the starting line.   I was still waiting for Ms. Arlene for the shirt when suddenly another bang boomed and people from the starting line commenced with the run.  Since I'm on the moved to break my record I hurriedly join the runners and run.

The path was flat, no uphill and downhill, and good that I was running on shoes this time.  So basically I got the advantage of break my 35 minute run.  I did get to the half mark and got the loop tag as proof that I did get to the first half of the race track.  Though I was running as much as I can there were times that my stomach weren't cooperating, causing some gastric reactions that hinders me from running more and slowing me down.  I feel bad about it.  A few more minutes and I'm near the finish line.  Looking at the clock... I got disappointed with the time.  It's 42 minutes!  Way too slow compared to my previous run.

Though disappointed I still get a relief that I was able to finish the run.  Lesson learned don't do anything foolish a day or night before the run it will really cause you problem.  Perhaps next time I need to prepare more.  I just hope to get a time to join more running events.

Holiday of Love from the Prince of Soul

9:54:00 PM

Christmas is really in the air the Prince of Soul JayR is in for the holiday season as he produces his own Christmas album entitled Holiday of Love.  So I'm sure a lot of music lovers will get a hold of this newest album from the Prince of Soul.

Get more of the story here with the press release...

Platinum Prince of Soul JayR’s Christmas album Holiday of Love may be one of the projects closest to the singer’s heart. Aside from admitting that he is certainly a “Christmas person,” this album features how gifted he is not only as a singer, but also a musician and a music producer.

Holiday of Love was produced by JayR himself for his own Homeworkz label, and distributed by Universal Records.

“This album is very special to me, and I am very proud of it,” says JayR. “I hope everyone grabs a copy. I hope you’ll let me be a part of your Holiday of Love.”

Classic Holiday tunes like Holy Night, Do You See What I See?, Give Love on Christmas Day, Sleigh Ride, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, White Christmas, Into (O Christmas Tree), Winter Wonderland, The Christmas Song, This Christmas, Santa Baby, and The Little Drummer Boy are given the updated, R&B, groovy feel.

Wrapping up the entire album are two original songs close to Jay-R's heart. There's Spread the Love written by his sister, Jing. But the most special song found in the album is track number 11 intriguingly titled, Tito Remy—the same person cited by Jay-R as the man who inspired the entire project.

"He's a very close Tito sa akin po, uncle ko po," Jay-R confessed, "he died before the holiday so I wrote him a Christmas song." After the Holiday Season, JayR is all set to start working on his new album under Universal Records which will further highlight how extremely versatile he is as a singer.

JayR is being managed by Carlo Orosa of STAGES, which handles the careers of Christian Bautista, Karylle, Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil, Zia Quizon, Krista Kleiner, Tippy Dos Santos, Mikel Campos, Fred Lo, among others.

Experience A Taste of Tokyo Café

3:14:00 PM

Hearing the name Tokyo Café gives me the idea that it is somewhat associated with one of the known Japanese Restaurant , unfortunately it is not. After attending one of their blogger’s event I get to know and realized that Tokyo Café is another Japanese Restaurant that will provide good food and great eating experience.

Info about the restaurant …

Tokyo Café is currently rising as one of the sought after Japanese coffee shops in the country. The restaurant provides a cozy ambiance, delicious food, and unique Japanese beverages. With the guidance of a Japanese consultant, the café exudes a unique Japanese image effortlessly.

Coming from a reputable Japanese coffee shop, a native of Tokyo, Mr. Atsushi Yoshizawa found potential in the Philippine market. With his background with restaurant operations he adapted the same method and ventured into the food business here in our country. At the same time Ifoods Exchange Incorporated with its growing brands was able to partner with Mr. Yoshizawa that provided him a team that was able to develop and conceptualize the dishes, the restaurant look, and the entire brand.

Differentiating itself from a regular coffee shop and a Japanese restaurant, it offers first-class fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine. This is backed with a wide array of beverages and desserts. An unlike the rest, the restaurant is family friendly. Groups made up of office people, friends, and families frequent the café. The place does not brood with stiff old men or young rowdy yuppies but provides a laid back environment for any age to those who desires to have a delightful dining experience and a relaxing time.

Tokyo Café started with its first branch in SM Mall of Asia, it consistently has reported as one of the highest selling restaurants in the whole mall. After a year of successful operations, the second branch opened at SM The Block, gaining more popularity with its target market. The third restaurant is found in posh and hip McKinley Piazza wherein thriving call centers and businesses are starting to appear. While the fourth and fifth restaurant are located at Go Hotel and SM Megamall. Aside from local branch they also extend their branch in China.

Tokyo Café has proven to be the goose that lays the golden eggs for Ifoods Exchange Incorporated. The restaurant is eyed to increase in number in the years to come.

Check out some of their menus, their value meals and their promos.  It can be for a single person with a huge appetite or it can be for the whole family.

To experience a taste of exquisite Japanese foods just visit Tokyo Café!

Thor The Soul RnB Sensation

3:13:00 PM

I was once also a choirboy and singing to churches and other occasions can really help out especially if you're pursuing a singing career.  Just like Thor who is a choirboy from Davao and who is by the way as one of the most promising Soul R&B singers in the Philippines today.  Thor took a lot of perseverance, a strong faith in God and, of course, a wonderfully rich singing voice that puts to mind the vocal prowess of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and Brian McKnight to get into this singing career.  Aside from being a singer in a Davao vocal group, he also did join and win in some singing competitions, even uprooting himself and performing in countless bar gigs in Manila in which are sure signs to his successful musical career.  Yet there were a lot of thorns in his path: "A lot of people told me I wouldn't make it.  That I won't record an album and could never go solo," shared Thor.  These negative opinions made Thor question the sacrifices he made, but with the help of his dedicated family and best friend, he pushed on despite other people's letdowns.

It is really indeed that peoples notion is to put you down when your dreaming something big and they would always tell you that you wouldn't make it.  But if we all let that hindrance fail us and we stop from achieving our dream then that's the time that they are right.

At the age of 19, he started getting into professional singing together with his band Myxtreme, which also meant doing backup vocals for various artists, singing jingles and doing sessions for other bands.  At the age of 24, Thor released his self-titled album THOR under Evolution Music distributed by Warner Music Philippines.  On 2007, Thor released his second studio album entitled "Soul Obsessions" Duets with Thor under Ivory Music Philippines, conceptualized from his radio segment on Wave 89.1.  The album was Thor's collaboration with the Philippines greatest artists like Jay Durias of South Border, Luke Mijares, MYMP, Nina, Amber Davis, Jinky Vidal of Reestyle, and a lot more... All of these led Thor to various awards including, Most Promising Male R&B Performer (Awards and Recognition Association of the Philippines), Awit Awardee (Best Performance by a Duet on the song "The Closer I Get to You" with Nina) and the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Theme song "Kasalanan Nga Ba" from the movie KUTOB.

While having gig at a bar here in the Philippines, international Soul Jazz musicians Marcos Sainz and Juan Galiardo were impressed and approached Thor after his set.  The two asked him to sing some racks in their album.  They flew him to Spain to record and asked him to become a part of the band.  Their album was released in some parts of Europe last 2008 entitled, "Shine a Light".  Now, Thor is one of the lead vocalists of the international Soul Jazz Funk band SATYA PROJECT while still pursuing his solo career here in the Philippines.

BonPen Festival Experience: Fun Run

7:00:00 PM
The first experience always marks the spot.  Just like in our love lives, the first crush, first kiss, and first love they all linger into our memory.  Of course, it should be because it is the first and for this event in my life, it will surely mark the spot because it's another first time for me.

So why am I saying things about first time well, to be honest, this specific fun run in the BonPen Festival was actually my first ever official run.  My supposedly first was impeded by a typhoon which caused me to stay in and let the chill of dawn lullaby me.  This fun run themed as Takbo at Padyak BonPen Para Sa Kalikasan in Quezon will sure be a memory to keep because aside from my first official run it also got a lot of first in it.  So what are they?  Well, I'll try to list it down so that it will be remembered as well.
  • First official 5k run.
  • First provincial BonPen Festival 5k run.
  • First time to run on a Sandugo Sandals (I hope Sandugo will invite me or make me a model for their great quality sandals.  Hahaha!) and take note it is a 5k run (I could really attest to the durability of Sandugo Sandals).
  • First time to actually finish the run and take note it's a 35 minute run time on a Sandugo Sandals (hehehe another endorsement of Sandugo Sandals).
Now, isn't it exciting jotting down all those firsts in one event?  The good news... the Sandugo Sandals is still in one piece and I think it only loses a few millimeters of its thickness.  The bad news... I got body aches and lots of cramps on my legs because of that run.  Perhaps that's the reason why other runners prefer barefoot rather than running on slippers or sandals.  I wonder if I can run barefoot?  Nah! That sandals run is enough experience already.

It's yours truly while making my run.
This photo is courtesy of JL Aquino of blog-ph.com
Maybe you were wondering why I run on Sandals during that fun run in BonPen Festival?  Well, I didn't come prepared and I actually don't have any plan on joining the Takbo at Padyak BonPen Para Sa Kalikasan running event but because most of the bloggers are going to run I decided to join as well.  It's a fun run after all.

First times are always remembered and this one will sure be a memory to last.

Witness BUM's Grandest Fashion Show

8:11:00 PM

We always have known BUM for their unique fashion trends and they have been one of the clothing lines that most of the teens wear around.

BUM will be having their grandest fashion on November 25, 2011 6PM at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. To learn more about the event read more...

Press Release

Local clothing brand BUM brings the Cosplay trend to the fore with a one-of-a-kind fashion show at the SM Mall of Asia.

If you have a story to tell, don’t keep it to yourself. Flaunt and let the world know through fashion.

This has been the youth’s battle-cry these days. Not only are they daring, wearing their colors on their sleeves proudly, they are pushing the envelope when it comes to dressing up, as well.

Even the term “costume play” or “cosplay”, which is the act of dressing up as a fictional character inspired from an anime TV series, or a character they idolized, has found its way into the youth’s wardrobe. Cosplay is no longer a style but it has become a “trend” that is normally seen and worn on the streets.

To underscore this “daring” and “experimental” style philosophy, BUM is putting together a fashion show on November 25 at the Music Hall of the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Called Reveal Your Darkside, this fashion celebration is the culminating event of an ongoing nationwide contest. Since August 8, BUM has been receiving through its website (http://www.bumequipment.com.ph) countless entries from young stylistas who want to share the world their passion for the brand and the cosplay trend.

Interestingly, the fashion show will also showcase BUM’s new collection for the Holidays. So cosplay and BUM fanatics can expect a one-of-a-kind fashion event that would inspire them to express their angst, passion, and identity more freely through BUM Collections. Mall goers will enjoy BUM’s treats as early as 1pm with live games on screen. Shoppers can play live video games at the Music Hall venue and win fabulous prizes courtesy of our sponsors Netopia Internet Café and Ideal Vision. Register as early as 1pm and get a chance to win prizes in our event raffle such as NOKIA C1 cellphones, five (5) pieces of P500 GLOBE prepaid loads and BUM gift packs. Raffle draw will be held at exactly 6:30pm. BUM products are available at BUM Boutiques and leading Department Stores nationwide. For Show details, visit www.bumequipment.com.ph and like us at www.facebook.com/bumequip .
