My Fave TV Station For The Netizen's Choice Award

12:32:00 AM

Over the years people get addicted to things that he or she loves to do and at present one of the most prominent thing for a person to do while in the house is none other than watch TV.   Slouch on the sofa, get the remote, press and start choosing a channel.  That's it and we're hooked!

For me, there are certain aspects or criteria to like a TV station.  One must have a good set of programs enticing enough to get me fixated, right timing or schedules of the programs, and perhaps relevance of the programs to the viewers. Hahaha! I'm sounding like a professional TV viewer! But I'm not. Well, it's just my own opinion.

TOFARM, An Award Giving Body for Pinoy Farmers

10:33:00 PM

Have you been to a Farm? Have you tried working in a Farm? Well, I'm sure lots of the present generation would scratch their heads and wonder what's a farm really looks like. Perhaps most of the present generation have seen farms in online games like Farmville, in which at least helped in informing the young ones of how Farms works. In my part, though born and raised in a city life, I get to experienced living in the province with my grandparents. Getting your hands and feet dirty when farming.

A few weeks ago my correspondent Jefferson Montas was able to attend and witness the media launch of TOFARM, it is the search for THE OUTSTANDING FARMERS of the Philippines. An award giving body that recognizes the hard work of Filipino farmers, men and women. Today's farmers or the modern farmers includes those in the agri-business, fisher folk, animal raisers, co-ops, farm communities, scientists, the academe, Gus, both urban and rural.

Junior Chamber International, Philippines and Universal Harvester, Inc. joins together in a dream of reviving the glory of Philippine agriculture by promoting farming as noble, lucrative profession, especially for the youth. This is because the agricultural sector plays the most crucial part in our survival as a people.

According to them, most of today's generation are no longer interested in tilling their fathers land and they prefer to pursue city jobs or become doctors, lawyers and engineers. Just like our National hero Jose Rizal said, not all can be doctors. Some will have to stay and cultivate the land. That is why the JCI and Universal Harvester's mission and vision is to make agriculture attractive for the next generations and for the entire country once again. And for a long term goal JCI and Universal Harvester, Inc. wants the Philippines to excel in farming, to be competitive on the world stage, to produce more so that we can feed our own and not to rely on importing crops and produce.

According to TOFARM Project Chairman Rommel Cunanan they will give out 11 awards for this year, six for the individual category and five for the group category. They'll be looking for the awardee from Farmer, Fisherfolk, Livestock, Agri-Entrepreneur, young Farmer, Agricultural Innovator and Urban/City Farmer for the individual category while on the group category will be from Agriculture Cooperative, Family Farmer, Local Government unit, Agricuture Initiatives and People's Choice.

The nomination period for Outstanding Farmer candidates begins August 1 and will end on September 30. Validation and Judging of nominees will take place in October and November, while the Awarding takes place in December.

Nominations may be submitted as hard copy or sent online to www.tofarm.org. Nomination forms may be downloaded from the website.

For more information, call the TOFARM Hotline 709-5001 to 54, fax 709-5006 or email info.tofarm@gmail.com.

Christian Bautista Gets Back-To-Back Awards

8:12:00 PM

Kwento Ni Toto has always been featuring Christian Bautista and his achievements, so for this time around Christian Bautista was able to nabbed a back-to-back awards. He is undeniably one of the top male singer of the country and to prove that just recently he received two awards.

One from the Tambayan 101.9 as Male Recording Artist of the Year besting some of the biggest names in the recording industry. While the other one was his Platinum Record Award for his First Class: Outbound Expanded Edition album during ASAP 2012. He was awarded by Universal Record's General Manager Kathleen Dy-Go.

First Class includes the hit singles Beautiful To Me, In Love With You (with Angeline Quinto), Sasabihin (with Neocolours), Rescue You (with Sam Concepcion), and new recordings of The Way You Look At Me, and Hands To Heaven.

In the soon-to-be-concluded Yahoo OMG Awards, Christian is also a frontrunner in the Male Recording Artist of the Year. Hopefully, Kwento Ni Toto will be there to catch that moment.

Also, Christian’s TV special The Way You Look At Me, which celebrates his 10th year in showbiz, will be aired this July 8 on ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best, which airs after Gandang Gabi Vice.

2X Victory for Universal Records

6:26:00 PM

Here's an update on the pinoy music industry.  Know what's up with your favorite singers and artists.

It was a big day for Universal Records as two of its prime artists Noel Cabangon and Christian Bautista were presented record awards for their respective albums. Noel’s Byahe was given a Double Platinum Record Award, while Christian’s Outbound was awarded a Gold Record Award.

“At this day of piracy and downloading, it is really an achievement that albums still sell,” says Universal Records Kathleen Dy-Go. “We are so proud to have the bestselling artists in our roster.”

Noel is currently working on a follow-up to the successful Byahe album and is now currently promoting his latest album Panaginip.

“Mabuhay ang lahat ng nagmamahal sa OPM,” declares Noel. “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta.”

Christian, on the other hand, has just released an expanded version of his Outbound album called First Class.

“What a fitting way to start the celebration of my 10 years in showbiz,” shares Christian. “I am so blessed to have everyone supporting me and my music.”
