Over the years, he has released deluxe editions, fan exclusives, and international tracks, now curated into one collection that highlights the range of his music. To mark the announcement, Josh shared his new song, “The Constant,” a collaboration written with acclaimed songwriters Pasek and Paul (The Greatest Showman, La La Land). The track adds something new while honoring the songs longtime fans have cherished.

“AFAM Wives Club” Delivers Unfiltered Stories of Filipinas in Global Relationships

11/28/2025 12:57:00 AM

“AFAM Wives Club” arrives on iWant as a new reality series offering an unfiltered look at Filipinas navigating cross-cultural relationships. The show presents real, raw moments filled with humor, conflict, and genuine connection — and it stands out for showing a side of modern love rarely seen on local television. Here’s why it deserves a spot on your watchlist:

  • The series offers a rare look into the lives of Filipinas in cross-cultural relationships, following Nathalie Hart, Keylyn Trajano, Mari Fowler and Julia Chu as they share their experiences with their foreign partners. The show explores identity, migration, cultural clashes and the unpredictable ways love can thrive or unravel. It’s a perspective not often highlighted in Philippine reality TV.

  • The show’s appeal lies in its honesty. The four women open their lives to the camera without filters — revealing the highs, struggles and laugh-out-loud moments that define their relationships. Their candor and unpredictable dynamics give the series its heart and make every episode both relatable and entertaining.
  • Instead of promoting rivalry, “AFAM Wives Club” leans into sisterhood. Mari, Keylyn, Julia and Nathalie support one another through motherhood, career changes, relationship hurdles and fresh starts. It’s messy at times, but the bond they build creates a refreshing contrast to the competitive nature of most reality shows.

  • The cast reflects the many faces of the modern Filipina. Mari Fowler embraces the realities of motherhood, Keylyn Trajano breaks boundaries as a transgender beauty queen, Julia Chu balances ambition with self-growth, and Nathalie Hart rebuilds her life after divorce. Together, they present a portrait of a Filipina identity that is diverse, resilient and continually evolving.
  • The series delivers elevated storytelling with JP Habac directing, Antoinette Jadaone producing and Rodina Singh serving as showrunner. The team brings a cinematic touch to reality television, pairing strong visual style with thoughtful narratives that give depth to each woman’s story.

“AFAM Wives Club” airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. on iWant. The first episode, available for free, is packed with humor, surprises and the kind of candid chaos rooted in authentic sisterhood. Viewers can unlock the remaining episodes for ₱35 per month in the Philippines or $4.99 per month internationally via the iWant app or iwanttfc.com.

Tyla’s new feature, directed by Aerin Moreno, is a masterclass in elegance - from its fashion to its subtle theme and choreography. Her message is both metaphorical and simple: “You say you love me? Put me in Chanel.” Tyla’s creative method of making sure the girls get their flowers, the song pays homage to the centering and empowering of the women that make our worlds turn, with the inimitable Tyla leading the charge.

Tyla’s Amapiano roots, which have been the foundation of her rise to stardom, are unmistakably baked into the song’s production—courtesy of Ian Kirkpatrick & P2J —which confidently lures Tyla’s loyal fanbase out onto the dance floor.

Tyla’s new single event follows the release of her first-ever mixtape, WWP, which was released in July. The project spawned the successful and hotly coveted collaboration with WizKid, “DYNAMITE,” which generated over 10 million YouTube views and gave fans a taste of what to expect from Tyla’s publicized return to the studio. The project also spawned the undeniable summer anthem, “Is It,” which created a disruptive event with its own music video, amassing over 20 million views. Tyla has remained active and impactful on the feature circuit, supporting Cardi B’s chart-topping comeback album on “Nice Guy,” and linking up with hotshot Ghanaian singer-songwriter MOLIY on the new collaboration, “Body Go.”

Next month, Tyla will hit the road in Asia for a string of headlining dates starting with Tokyo on Nov. 11. The “Chanel” singer will perform live in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manila and Singapore during the brief trek, which will run until December 5. Tickets information is available here. She will also be performing at this year’s annual Global Citizen Festival in NYC, beside some of the biggest names in music, including The Weeknd and Shakira.

On Wednesday, Tyla was announced as one of GLAMOUR Magazine’s Women Of The Year honorees. The coveted award also showcases Tyla on the cover of the November GLAMOUR Magazine in multiple global markets including US, UK, Spain, Germany and Mexico/Latin America.

Tyla has continued to climb the ranks of stardom. She has illuminated Vogue and AdWeek headlines with her multi-faceted dominance, including scene-stealing appearances at the Met Gala, and a viral Coca-Cola campaign. She’s become a renowned brand ambassador, including an extensive relationship with Pandora that produced a limited-edition charm earlier this month, the “Tyla Tyger," named after her beloved fanbase. The charm, etched with Tyla’s trademark “tiger” insignia, is available exclusively via Pandora online retailers in North America.

Tyla has also been a reliable source of iconic pop culture moments, including her recent victory at the MTV VMAs, where she took home the award for “Best Afrobeats” for the second year in a row. This time for her critically acclaimed single “PUSH 2 START” and accepted the award draped in vintage Chanel and adorned with layers of Pandora medallions and necklaces.

The precision of her creative vision makes the arrival of “Chanel” even more urgent. Stream and watch Tyla’s latest single today.

Ten Filipino Actors Who Captivated Audiences as Vampires

10/25/2025 11:23:00 PM

Okay, so it’s Halloween! When it comes to costumes, one classic always stands out — the vampire.

No one really knows why, but vampires have a strange way of captivating people everywhere. Their charm and mystery never seem to fade, making them one of the most recognizable figures during the spooky season.

In Philippine cinema, vampires have taken on many forms — some terrifying, others tragic, but always fascinating. Filipino actors, known for their emotional depth and powerful screen presence, have brought these creatures to life with unforgettable performances.

Here’s a look at some of the Filipino actors who sank their teeth into vampire roles that continue to haunt, thrill, and entertain audiences, along with the stories and films that made them legends of the night.

1. Richard Gutierrez in La Vendetta and La Luna Sangre

Richard Gutierrez took on a dark transformation in La Vendetta, a horror-thriller series that aired on GMA Network in 2007. Portraying the elusive and brooding vampire character, he captures the essence of revenge with a deadly allure, driven by a bloodline curse that drags him into the underworld. This haunting storyline revolves around family secrets and brutal betrayals, with Gutierrez’s intense performance adding to the chills. Directed by Gil Tejada Jr., the series achieved success with its mix of horror and suspense, leaving viewers captivated by Gutierrez’s spine-chilling portrayal.

Also, in the 2017 ABS-CBN fantasy series La Luna Sangre, Richard Gutierrez played Sandrino Villalobo, also known as Supremo, the powerful and ruthless leader of the vampires. As the main antagonist, his character sought to dominate both humans and supernatural beings, driven by vengeance and a twisted sense of destiny. Gutierrez’s portrayal of Sandrino was both menacing and magnetic — a villain with depth, pain, and humanity buried beneath his monstrous nature. His commanding presence, cold demeanor, and emotional intensity made him one of Philippine television’s most memorable vampire characters, embodying the eternal struggle between power, revenge, and redemption.

2. Angel Locsin – La Luna Sangrea

That’s absolutely correct — Angel Locsin played the mysterious and powerful Jacintha Magsaysay in La Luna Sangre (ABS-CBN, 2017–2018), a continuation of the Lobo and Imortal saga. Angel Locsin’s portrayal of Jacintha captured both mystery and strength. Dressed in striking red gowns and speaking with calm authority, she carried an aura of elegance and danger reminiscent of a vampire queen. Her presence added depth to the story’s supernatural politics, symbolizing balance and destiny in the war between vampires and werewolves.

3. Eddie Garcia in Batuta Ni Drakula

Eddie Garcia did, in fact, play a vampire — specifically Dracula himself — in the 1971 film Batuta ni Drakula. Garcia’s performance as Drakula stood out because of his commanding screen presence and impeccable timing. Even in a comedic setting, he gave the character a sophisticated menace — blending elegance, fear, and laughter in one act. Batuta ni Drakula (1971) remains a rare gem in Philippine cinema, highlighting Garcia’s incredible versatility as an actor who could jump from serious drama to dark comedy — even while playing the most iconic vampire of all time.

4. John Lloyd Cruz in Imortal

ABS-CBN’s fantasy-drama series Imortal (2010) stars John Lloyd Cruz as Mateo, a vampire born into a fated war between werewolves and vampires. As he meets Lia, a werewolf, love complicates their worlds even further. Directed by Chito S. Roño, Imortal showcases Cruz’s impressive ability to bring depth to the vampire character, torn between duty and desire. His journey in the series is packed with thrilling battles and haunting moments, leaving audiences mesmerized by his dark, conflicted portrayal.

5. Anjanette Abayari in Halik ng Vampira

Anjanette Abayari famously played the lead role in the 1997 Viva Films horror-fantasy movie Halik ng Vampira (translated as Kiss of the Vampire), directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes, known for their mastery in gothic and fantasy storytelling.

Abayari’s portrayal brought a mix of sensuality, sadness, and fear — she embodied the archetype of the tragic Filipina vampire, both victim and predator. Her character was haunted by her curse, often expressing deep emotion and loneliness, themes that made the movie stand out from typical horror flicks of the era.

Halik ng Vampira became one of the most memorable Filipino vampire films of the 1990s, thanks to Abayari’s commanding presence, stunning visuals, and the film’s gothic atmosphere. It showcased her versatility as an actress — blending beauty, horror, and drama in a single, unforgettable role.

6. Gloria Romero in Takot Ako sa Darling Ko

Gloria Romero appeared in the 1997 horror-comedy film Takot Ako sa Darling Ko. While Romero’s role wasn’t the central vampire character, she added her signature elegance and humor to the movie, grounding the film’s fantasy elements with warmth and wit.

7. Jomari Yllana in Imortal

Jomari Yllana played a vampire role in the ABS-CBN fantasy series Imortal (2010–2011).

He plays Mateo's father. He is the founder of the community of righteous vampires, who only drink animal blood. He attempts to reach out to Lyka to begin peace talks between vampires and werewolves as he believes they can peacefully coexist. He believes vampires don't need human blood to survive and his community proves this possible.

8. Vic Sotto in Vampire ang Daddy Ko

In this fantasy-comedy series, Vic portrayed Count Victor Ventura, half-human, half-vampire, a vampire trying to live a normal life with his family in modern-day Manila. His character was both funny and fatherly — a vampire dad dealing with ordinary household problems while hiding his supernatural identity.

The show gave a lighthearted twist to the vampire myth, showing that even creatures of the night can have family issues, quirky neighbors, and comic misunderstandings. Vic Sotto’s comedic timing and charm made the role entertaining and relatable, especially for younger viewers.

Vampire ang Daddy Ko became one of GMA’s most popular fantasy-comedy series during its run, proving that Filipino audiences enjoy both the spooky and the silly sides of vampire stories.

9. Maricar Reyes in Imortal and La Luna Sangre

Maricar Reyes (now Maricar Reyes-Poon) played the vampire Samantha "Sam" Imperial in the teleseryes Imortal and La Luna Sangre. Her character is the adopted daughter of the vampire leader Magnus and the adopted sister of Sandrino. She is a powerful vampire who is in love with Mateo, the father of the protagonist Malia.

10. Rod Navarro in Drakula Goes to RP

od Navarro was an actor in the 1973 Filipino horror-comedy film "Drakula Goes to R.P.". In the movie, he played the role of the vampire Drakula, which is noted for a scene transitioning from comedy to horror.

The Legacy of Filipino Vampires

From the cursed lovers to vengeful spirits, Filipino actors have embraced the vampire character with distinct takes that keep audiences enchanted and spooked. Their performances delve deep into the complexities of these creatures, merging myth and human experience to deliver unforgettable, spine-tingling portrayals. As Philippine cinema continues to evolve, the vampire legend endures, breathing life into new stories that will surely keep viewers captivated by the thrill of the undead.

“Meet, Greet & Bye” Portrays the Pain and Strength of Filipino Families

10/20/2025 11:21:00 PM

A story that mirrors the everyday life of many Filipino families is coming to theaters soon through Star Cinema’s newest film, Meet, Greet & Bye. Starring Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano, Juan Karlos, and the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, the film brings to life a heartfelt tale of love, laughter, togetherness, and pain that promises to touch the hearts of audiences everywhere.

Opening in cinemas worldwide on November 12, the film is directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, one of the country’s most respected and successful filmmakers. Known for her ability to blend humor and heartbreak, Garcia-Sampana once again delivers a story that hits close to home.

A Familiar Story That Feels Real

Meet, Greet & Bye follows the Facundo family, led by Mama Baby (Maricel Soriano), who faces cancer for the second time. This time, however, she refuses to undergo chemotherapy, losing hope after years of battling her illness. Her four children — Tupe (Piolo Pascual), Brad (Joshua Garcia), Leo (Juan Karlos), and Geri (Belle Mariano) — must come together to search for an alternative treatment before time runs out.

The story feels familiar because it’s the kind of struggle many Filipino families know all too well — facing sickness, financial challenges, and emotional strain, yet never losing love for one another. Beneath the film’s simplicity lies a truth that reflects countless Filipino homes: we may not always have much, but we have each other.

Its trailer, released on October 8, showcases moments of joy and tears — the kind of mix that defines the Filipino family experience. Viewers can expect to laugh, cry, and reflect as they see bits of their own family stories unfold on screen.

“A Film Made for You”

During the film’s media conference, Maricel Soriano proudly expressed her excitement for the project.

“Talagang pinagmamalaki namin ang pelikulang ginawa namin para po sa inyo na handog ng Star Cinema at ABS-CBN. Sana panoorin nyo, hinding-hindi kayo magsisisi,” she said.

Belle Mariano hopes the film’s message resonates deeply with audiences. “Sana yung mensahe umabot sa manonood natin. It will give so much importance to the people you love in your life,” she shared.

Meanwhile, both Piolo Pascual and Juan Karlos admitted that making the movie was emotionally difficult because of how relatable it was.

“It was really hard to do because, I don’t wanna say personally, but it hits close to home, especially for Filipino families, and it’s something we have to face inevitably no matter who we lose as long as he’s part of the family,” said Piolo.

“Especially with what I personally went through in life, it’s also way too close,” added Juan Karlos, echoing the emotional weight of the story.

A Love Letter to Parents

According to writers Jumbo Albano and Patrick Valencia, Meet, Greet & Bye was inspired by a universal truth — the fear of losing one’s parents.

“What really pushed us to tell this story is that this is our love letter to our parents, the same way kung paano siya naging love letter din ni Direk [Cathy] sa kanyang mga anak,” explained Albano.

“It’s a universal fear for everyone to lose yung mahal nila sa buhay so yun ang naging focus namin while writing this story na sana maraming tao ang maka-relate. Gusto naming ikwento ‘to kasi kwento natin itong lahat,” added Valencia.

Their words reflect what makes the movie special — it’s not about grandeur or fantasy, but about reality. It’s a quiet, powerful story that mirrors our fears and celebrates our love for family, no matter how imperfect it may be.

A Story That Feels Like Home

Meet, Greet & Bye stands out because of its honesty. It’s a simple story, yet it captures the depth of Filipino family life — the laughter at the dining table, the silent sacrifices, and the shared pain when one member falls ill. Every character feels real, every scene feels lived-in, and that’s what makes it so easy to relate to.

It’s not just a movie about saying goodbye; it’s a story about holding on — to love, to family, and to hope. Because even when life brings hardship, the Filipino spirit endures.

With its strong cast, heartfelt storytelling, and emotional truth, Meet, Greet & Bye has all the makings of a blockbuster hit. It’s the kind of movie that stays with you long after the credits roll.

The film also revealed its official poster last weekend, lighting up ABS-CBN’s ELJ Building with the letters MGB, a symbol of the touching story it represents.

Where to Watch

Meet, Greet & Bye opens in cinemas worldwide on November 12. Visit meetgreetandbye.com to get tickets and learn more about the movie.

Janella, Sue, Kaila, and Charlie Lead ABS-CBN’s New Thriller What Lies Beneath

10/16/2025 11:14:00 PM

ABS-CBN has unveiled its latest suspense thriller series, What Lies Beneath, a gripping tale of friendship, betrayal, and secrets that refuse to stay buried. The series stars Janella Salvador, Sue Ramirez, Kaila Estrada, and Charlie Dizon.

The story centers on four women — Alice (Salvador), Mel (Ramirez), Erica (Estrada), and Beth (Dizon) — whose lives unravel after a single lie and an irreversible act. As hidden truths resurface, trust begins to crumble, alliances break, and survival becomes a test against both danger and guilt.

During the media launch, creative producer Arah Badayos and head writer Benson Logronio shared that the series explores the moral gray areas of injustice, delving into how choices made in desperation can change lives forever.

“It’s clear in the trailer that there was an injustice done,” Arah shared. “Pero mapapakita rin na it was not simple — the people who caused the injustice are victims of injustice themselves.”

The lead stars also opened up about portraying emotionally demanding roles that balance fragility and resilience. Janella, Sue, Kaila, and Charlie revealed how their characters are pushed to their limits as they confront both external threats and their own inner demons.

Joining the ensemble are Jake Cuenca and JM de Guzman, who expressed excitement over portraying roles that challenge their previous screen personas, alongside Yves Flores, Race Matthias, and Jameson Blake. The series is directed by Froy Allan Leonardo and Dado Lumibao.

"What Lies Beneath" premieres October 17 on Netflix, followed by October 18 on iWantTFC, and October 20 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.

J-pop Icons Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada Collaborate on New Track “Jane Doe”

9/27/2025 06:40:00 AM

Japanese pop star Kenshi Yonezu has teamed up with singer Hikaru Utada for the new track “Jane Doe,” the ending theme for the upcoming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. The collaboration, their first together, was written and composed by Yonezu with Utada on vocals.

The official music video, directed by Tomokazu Yamada and featuring both artists, premiered last September 24.

The release comes on the heels of a busy streak for Yonezu. His song “Iris Out,” another theme for Reze Arc, debuted at No. 2 on Spotify’s Top Songs Debut Global Chart. Meanwhile, his earlier hit “Kick Back,” the opening theme for the Chainsaw Man TV anime, became the first Japanese-language track to earn RIAA Platinum certification.

The “JANE DOE” music video features the two artists, dressed entirely in black, sitting apart on benches on a train station platform. It depicts a station platform where passengers heading in different directions briefly cross paths only during boarding and getting off. While waiting for the next train, two passengers who happen to sit on the same bench exert a light gravitational pull on each other, like invisible, large circles. Directed by Tomokazu Yamada, known for music videos including Kenshi Yonezu's “Lemon,” “Uma to Shika,” and “Sayonara, Mata Itsuka! – Sayonara.” Hikaru Utada’s “Mine or Yours,” “A Flower of No Color,” and “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-,” as well as directing last year’s “SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024.”

Of the track, KENSHI YONEZU says, “I started working on the song without giving too much thought to who would sing it. However, as the song began to take shape, it became evident that no one was better suited to it than Utada-san, so I reached out to them. The moment Utada-san’s voice—melancholic, yet sweeping like a gust of wind—came in over the track, I remember being so moved that I let out a sharp gasp. As a songwriter, I feel truly honored to have been given this opportunity.”

HIKARU UTADA adds, “I knew I had to give it a go when I received this offer. Both of us being uncompromising singer-songwriters, we knew better than anybody else where the other comes from, but also faced the challenge of meeting halfway where our styles, as we found in the process, contrast. I hope everyone can feel the new sides that were brought out in us, as we remained true to ourselves and each other.”

Music video director TOMOKAZU YAMADA says, “We spin endlessly in the darkness of the universe, exerting light gravitational pull upon one another. Even when we are close enough to touch, we are all distant stars. Each with its own rotation, each gazing upon its own night. This is truly a collision of galaxies. BINI vs. Xian Gaza: Rumor Sparks Legal Action and Online Backlash

8/20/2025 09:05:00 PM

Social media personality Xian Gaza recently sparked widespread buzz after posting a vague but provocative comment implying that a member of the P-pop girl group BINI was overly sexually active. Gaza's remark—framed as a “friendly reminder” to Gen Z about practicing safe sex—prompted public backlash and legal consequences that remain unfolding.

On Aug. 13, Gaza wrote on Facebook:
“Gen Z, it’s okay to have sex as long as you use condoms to avoid getting pregnant. Especially to that member of BINI who likes to have sex.” He added that the said member had “made it a hobby” and warned that such behavior could jeopardize her career.

Netizens swiftly responded. Many decried the post as sexist and invasive, arguing it perpetuated harmful stereotypes and violated the privacy of young women in the public eye. Fans and concerned observers pushed for accountability. One user remarked:

“This guy has crossed far too many boundaries. Calling on [BINI’s] management to take legal action and file criminal charges…”.

In response, celebrity lawyer Atty. Joji Alonso shared on her Instagram Story on Aug. 14 that BINI members had filed a legal complaint against an unnamed individual. The filing included the full names of the eight members—Gwen, Aiah, Sheena, Mikha, Maloi, Jhoanna, Stacey, and Colet—but offered no details on the specific charges.

Who’s Telling the Truth?

Gaza’s history as a provocative online figure is well-documented. Known for generating headlines—from billboard date proposals to controversial ventures like the now-flagged “Xian Coin”—he has earned a reputation as “The Pambansang Marites,” a moniker reflecting his penchant for gossip and sensationalism Wikipedia . His minimized disclaimer about safe sex did little to offset the undertone of the message, which critics slammed as moralizing and defaming.

On the other hand, BINI’s management appears to be treating the matter seriously, choosing legal recourse over public rebuttal or media confrontation. The legal filing signals that ambiguously phrased yet potentially damaging statements can have real consequences—even when no direct names are given.

What’s in It for Gaza?

Observers speculate that Gaza may benefit from the uproar—publicity, engagement, and visibility are key currencies in the social media age. His pattern of feeding rumors or cryptic commentary aligns with a strategy of maintaining relevance through controversy. Yet without confirmation or evidence, such content may backfire—both in public perception and through legal channels.

The Stakes

The incident highlights a deeper tension in modern media ecosystems: the right to free expression versus the potential harm of unverified gossip. It raises important questions: To what extent should public figures be protected from insinuation? And how should courts and society weigh personal privacy against so-called “harmless” internet banter?

What We Know vs. What Remains Unclear

Known Facts
  • Gaza posted a social media message on Aug. 13 implying a BINI member was sexually active.
  • BINI filed a legal complaint via their lawyer Atty. Joji Alonso on Aug. 14.
  • Public sentiment largely condemned Gaza’s remarks as invasive and misogynistic.

Outstanding Questions
  • Which specific legal claims are outlined in the complaint (e.g., defamation, invasion of privacy)?
  • Who is the unnamed respondent, and what is their connection to Gaza?
  • Will there be criminal charges or out-of-court settlement?

Bottom Line

As it stands, Gaza’s credibility is questionable—his dramatic online persona, legal controversies, and past fingerpointing suggest this may be less about dialog and more about drama. Meanwhile, BINI and their camp are asserting their rights, seeking judicial protection against potentially defamatory content.

Without definitive evidence backing Gaza’s claim, the truth remains ambiguous. What’s clear: in a digital era where rumors travel fast and reputations are fragile, the line between public interest and irresponsible speculation has never been thinner.

‘Marty Supreme’ Brings Underdog Spirit to Christmas Day Release

8/13/2025 10:38:00 PM

Timothée Chalamet is returning to theaters this Christmas in “Marty Supreme,” a sports dramedy from filmmaker Josh Safdie that’s set to be one of A24’s biggest productions to date. The film opens nationwide on Dec. 25, a slot often reserved for movies with broad emotional appeal or strong awards-season potential.

For Safdie, known for the gritty chaos of “Uncut Gems” and “Good Time,” this marks his first solo directing effort in over a decade. But unlike his earlier, darker work, “Marty Supreme” leans into warmth, humor and perseverance, the kind of story that resonates with audiences during the holiday season.

The film follows Marty Mauser (Chalamet), an aspiring ping-pong champion whose dream is dismissed by nearly everyone around him. The story isn’t just about sports; it’s about resilience, proving self-worth, and finding validation in unexpected places. The release timing seems deliberate, arriving at the end of the year when themes of hope, determination, and starting fresh ring especially true.

The cast is as unconventional as Marty’s journey: Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, Tyler, the Creator, Kevin O’Leary, Penn Jillette, Abel Ferrara and Odessa A’zion join Chalamet in what the studio calls “an original work.” Behind the camera, cinematographer Darius Khondji and composer Daniel Lopatin, both Safdie collaborators from “Uncut Gems,” bring an expansive visual and sonic style to the $70 million production.

Early footage hints at a crowd-pleasing mix of offbeat humor, high-energy sports action, and heartfelt moments. Viewers can expect to see Marty claw his way through setbacks, endure eccentric training, and face opponents who seem unbeatable, all while holding onto a dream no one else believes in.

Why stick around until the end? Because the real question isn’t whether Marty wins the championship, but whether he earns the respect he’s been chasing all along. It’s that emotional payoff, the triumph of spirit, that could make “Marty Supreme” a holiday favorite.

“Marty Supreme” opens in theaters Dec. 25.

All of Us Are Dead' Season 2 Officially in Production — 3 Years After the Initial Announcement

8/13/2025 09:43:00 PM

After more than three years of silence, Netflix has officially confirmed that Season 2 of All of Us Are Dead is finally in production.

The long-awaited update was revealed through a special behind-the-scenes video showing the cast at a table read — both the familiar faces from Season 1 and new actors joining the highly anticipated second installment. Returning stars include Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon. New cast members such as Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, Roh Jae-won, and Yoon Ga-i are also set to breathe fresh life — and likely more chaos — into the zombie-infested world.

Originally released on January 28, 2022, All of Us Are Dead quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched Korean dramas, following the global phenomenon Squid Game. The show combined teenage drama, survival horror, and emotional storytelling, earning a massive fanbase. It left viewers with a cliffhanger that hinted the zombie outbreak might be far from over.

Fans React: “Still in Production?”

Despite the hype, many fans online weren’t exactly cheering — at least not right away.

“Wait, wasn’t this announced three years ago?” one comment read on X (formerly Twitter). Others chimed in, echoing the sentiment that Netflix had already said the second season was “in production” as early as 2022, only for nothing to come out years later.

“Three and a half years and it’s still a table read?” another fan joked.

But not all reactions were negative. Some netizens expressed renewed excitement after seeing the returning cast and learning about the newcomers. “The wait might just be worth it,” one fan posted. “The new cast looks solid — can’t wait to see what kind of characters they’ll bring.”

Why Season 2 Could Be Even Better

While plot details are still under wraps, there are plenty of reasons to be excited. For one, the surviving characters are expected to return to a world still grappling with the aftermath of the outbreak. Season 1 ended with some of the infected developing unusual abilities — a hint that the zombie virus might have evolved.

With a bigger budget, a fresh storyline, and new characters, fans are hoping for more action, suspense, and perhaps even a deeper dive into the origins of the virus. Rumors suggest that Season 2 may explore how the government handles the outbreak long-term — and what happens when the infection spreads beyond Hyosan.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director Lee Jae-kyoo hinted that the next season would focus more on the “survivors and the evolved zombies,” giving the story a darker and more action-packed tone.

A Korean ‘High School of the Dead’?

All of Us Are Dead has often been compared to the Japanese anime High School of the Dead — and for good reason. Both series revolve around high school students trying to survive a zombie apocalypse while society collapses around them. The similarities in tone, pacing, and setting have led some fans to call the Korean series a live-action, spiritual cousin of the anime.

In a feature by Collider, critics noted that while All of Us Are Dead drew inspiration from its anime predecessor, it brought a uniquely Korean perspective — one focused more on social dynamics, bullying, and youth resilience.

Sure, it’s been a long wait — and yes, fans have every right to be skeptical after three and a half years of anticipation. But with Netflix officially confirming production and teasing a fresh batch of chaos, Season 2 is shaping up to be one worth waiting for.

Whether you're in it for the thrills, the emotional drama, or just the zombies, it looks like All of Us Are Dead is finally coming back from the dead — and this time, it’s going to bite even harder.
