THE OFFSPRING TALK ABOUT THEIR NEW ALBUM ‘DAYS GO BY’

2:24:00 PM

Here's another readings for the avid followers of the music industry. Check the whole details about The OFFSPRING's latest album entitled "Days Go By".

Press Release
"We want to offer something new with every album," says Dexter Holland, frontman of THE OFFSPRING.

After nine records, that's certainly not an easy task for any band. However, THE OFFSPRING have more than a few surprises up their sleeves, and their ninth studio album, DAYS GO BY, is staggering proof. Produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Mötley Crüe, The Cult), the record sees the group embracing every side of their sound, while simultaneously blazing new trails.

The Huntington Beach, CA quartet—Dexter Holland (vocals, guitar), Noodles (guitar), Greg Kriesel (bass) and Pete Parada (drums)—once again break all the rules in true punk fashion. The title track and first single glides on an irresistible riff and arena-sized hook. Meanwhile, "OC Guns" swings from swaggering SoCal reggae into a mariachi breakdown, and "Cruising California (Bumpin' in My Trunk)" hilariously recounts an afternoon rolling around the beach with nothing but time to kill and scantily girls to flirt with. Then, there's the final speed punk death march of dual salvo "Dividing by Zero" and "Slim Pickens Does The Right Thing And Rides The Bomb To Hell." It's unique, unpredictable, and undeniably THE OFFSPRING.

The band's last album, 2008's Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace, featured the alternative and rock radio staples “Hammerhead” and “You're Gonna Go Far, Kid.” Also among their best-known hits are the rock anthems “Self Esteem,” “Come Out And Play (Keep ‘Em Separated)” and “The Kids Aren't Alright." They've performed over 1100 shows across the globe and sold more than 36 million albums worldwide. Their 1994 release Smash remains the highest-selling album of all-time on an independent label.

In 2010 after a successful touring cycle behind Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, the four musicians regrouped in their Orange County studio to begin carving out ideas for their next offering. Holland took a trip to visit Rock in Hawaii. After collaborating with the producer on the previous record, it was like they'd simply picked up where they left off.

"The last album turned out really great, so we wanted to work with Bob again," Holland explains. "When you go with a producer for the second time, it can go one of two ways. Either, since you've gotten to know each other, everything gets a lot better. Or, sometimes, you've gotten too comfortable with each other, and it stops being professional. The producer becomes too much like a buddy. Luckily, it didn't go that way. Bob encouraged us to throw all of our ideas out there." The title track actually ignited the entire process. They began working on that song first, revisiting it throughout the entire process, and actually finishing it in the last batch. For Holland, the song remains emblematic of a pervasive overarching theme.

"It tied everything together and was the most representative of what I was trying to get at," he reveals. "Time marches on. We have to get through life and pull ourselves up by our boot straps. No one is going to do it for you. At the same time, there's a message of hope, and I wanted that to come across. The last few years have been really tough on a lot of people. You can see it on TV or in the news. The song doesn't simply say, 'Let's revolt.' It's about the spirit that things can get better."

There's nothing quite as cathartic as seeing the band live though, and that's where the material on DAYS GO BY will burn the brightest. It's because even after all this time, the group's reason for being on stage hasn't changed. It's as pure as it's ever been. "We share a love of this music that we got into at such a young age," declares Noodles. "It meant the same thing or a very similar thing to all of us back then as it does now. We love recording. We love hanging out backstage. We love giving each other shit and taking the piss out of each other. We love playing."

It's no surprise Holland feels the same. "We still do it because it's what we love. We feel inspired to make the best music we can and try to make the world a bit better in the process. When the audience sings back to you, there's nothing like it." There will be a lot more of that to come with DAYS GO BY.

Fall in love once again with American rock band, Lifehouse, as they take Manila by storm in an evening of extraordinary musical pleasure this May 26th at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lifehouse’s leap to mainstream success started with the release of their international hit single “Hanging by a Moment” which became the Most Played Song in 2001. Written by Jason Wade, the song catapulted the band into commercial recognition. This was followed by other chart-topping hits such as “You and Me” and “Blind” from their self-titled album “Lifehouse” as well as “Whatever It Takes” from the album “Who We Are” all under MCA Music. Their latest album, “Smoke & Mirrors”, debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 marking the highest chart debut of their 10-year career. It sold 500,000 units in the United States and over two million worldwide, owning the charts for twenty consecutive weeks.

Most of the band’s songs were featured on TV series and motion pictures in the United States. “Everything” was used in the series Smallville, “All in All” in Scrubs while “Good Enough” was played over the end credits of the Disney film “The Wild”. The band’s ability to evoke emotions and effectively translate it into a song was what gained them their massive fan base over the years. Tracks like “Sick Cycle Carousel”, “Everything”, “Breathing”, “First Time”, “You and Me” and more, were played over and over again by loyal listeners worldwide. These songs captured the hearts of millions and left them wanting more.

Lifehouse is composed of Jason Wade on lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Ben Carey on lead guitar, Rick Woolstenhulme Jr. on drums and Bryce Soderberg on bass guitar.

Their albums are now out in CDs at leading record stores and online via www.MyMusicStore.com.ph under MCA Music.

THE STYLISTICS Serenades Filipino Fans

10:02:00 AM

Celebrate the music of best-known Philadelphia soul group of the 1970s as That's Ntertainment Productions, in cooperation with ABS-CBN, present THE STYLISTICS Live in Manila happening today, April 12, 2012, 8 pm at Smart Araneta Coliseum.   Here's a treat for mom and dad, grandma and grandpa with an unforgettable night from The Stylistics with special guests Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

The Stylistics have been recording and touring for almost forty years and enjoyed twelve straight Top 10 hits from 1971.1974.  These include their stellar debut "Betcha by Golly, Wow", "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and the shimmering sweet soul ballad " You Make Me Feel Brand New".  Their early 70s work with producer Thom Bell and his collaborator, lyricist Linda Creed yielded some of the most popular love songs of that era.

Known for their sleek, soulful Philadelphia sound, this quarter has been performing for nearly 40 years and became a worldwide-favorite for their showmanship, harmony and style.  Formed in 1968, The Stylistics was originally comprised lead Russell Thompkins, Jr., Herbie Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith, and James Dunn.  After the original group disbanded in the 80s, Love, Murell, and Thompkins continued to tour until 2000 and brought in two new members from one set of the Delfonics - Harold Eban Brown as lead singer, and tenor Van Fields who also sang wit an a cappella group called A Perfect Blend.  In 2011, Fields departed and was replaced with Jason Sharpe (formerly with Heatwave).

In 2008 they recorded their latest album, That Same Way.  The new album marks as their first album of new material this century but still filled with sweet soul spirit that initially made The Stylistics famous.  Their song, "People Make the World Go Round", was used by Spike Lee in the soundtrack for 1994 film Crooklyn, as performed by Marc Dorsey.

As the concert's special guests, two of our OPM icons will also be performing their classic hits infused with comedy.  Rico J. Puno's funny-naughty charm and rich, earthy voice--popularly known as Mr. Suave -- will definitely sway you with his signature hits from "Macho Gwapito" to ballads "Kapalaran" and "May Bukas Pa".  With a career of more than 40 years in showbiz, comedienne-singer Elizabeth Ramsey will also feature heart-warming renditions of OPM and oldies hits.  Being the country's Queen of Rock & Roll, Elizabeth is still in her prime and continues to do what she loves to do best -- singing and making people laugh.

As That's Ntertainment PRoductions brings one of the finest acts of the 70's, The Stylistics -- consisting of founding members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell and newer additions Van Fields and Eban Brown - will definitely spark fond memories in an amazing night for fans of Soul and R&B genres decades ago.  This is a treat for mom and dad, grandma and grandpa and an unforgettable night from The Stylistics with special guests Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

Tickets available at ticketnet.com.ph or you may call 911-5555.  Ticket Prices: PATRON A (Reserved Seating) - P4770; PATRON B (Reserved Seating) - P4240; LOWER BOX (Reserved Seating) - P3180; UPPER BOX A (Reserved Seating) - P2120; UPPER BOX B - P1060; and GENERAL ADMISSION - P530.  Brought to you by That's Ntertainment Productions and ABS-CBN.

LMFAO RELEASES “SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING” CD+DVD TOUR EDITION

12:35:00 PM

LMFAO, together with the Party Rock Crew, are ready to take their party rock anthems on the road as they conquer Manila this April 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. But before all that happens, the group comes out with a special tour edition of their album “Sorry For Party Rocking” this month.

The album, which has reached Platinum in the Philippines, has produced two #1 singles, “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” while the third single “Sorry For Party Rocking” is climbing the Top 40 radio charts. The Tour Edition features a DVD of music videos of the said hit singles plus “Champagne Showers,” “I’m In Miami Trick” and “Shots”.

“Sorry for party rocking is a party person’s excuse for having fun,” explains Redfoo, LMFAO’s member known for his gravity-defying afro. “It’s the excuse you give when someone complains,” he continues. “Let’s say your parents say ‘stop shuffling upstairs you’re waking me up!’ You can now just say ‘Sorry for party rocking, Mom…sorry for having fun.’”

Redfoo’s nephew, Sky Blu, echoes the sentiment, minus the apology. “We rock the party and lead by example,” says LMFAO’s lyrical wordsmith. LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” has surpassed 10 million units in total sales worldwide! “Party Rock Anthem” was the #2 top selling song of 2011 on iTunes in the U.S. behind Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” and it was the #1 selling song on iTunes in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The video has seen over 360 million views on VEVO. Jules even asked KC for a “date” on National TV when they met in ASAP.

Jules pleads, “We really hope you can grab a copy of our first album to be released in the Philippines Together. It has our versions of some of the most romantic songs.”

Together boasts of having an interesting mix of traditional songs and more modern pop tracks, carefully chosen to further highlight the immense talent of the group. It includes U2’s With or Without You, Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, Elvis Costello’s She, among others.
