8:23:00 PM

It's the invasion of Thai heartthrobs, yes some of the known Thai stars are gaining the hearts of Pinoy fans. After the success of “2gether” and its sequel in the Philippines, streaming service iWant TFC is serving up another Thai series that fans of the boys love (BL) genre will definitely get hooked on. This time, however, the series titled “I’m Tee, Me Too” will take it easy on the romance front and will instead tell a story of friendship between six guys, played by six popular Thai actors known for their BL roles.

“I’m Tee, Me Too,” which has started it stream on iWant TFC premium and standard subscribers last September 18, will follow six university students who end up living in one house as they face life’s challenges while having to deal with each other’s own quirks. Will they be able to get along and endure one another or will their clashing personalities be too much to handle?

Here are a few interesting facts you should know about the six Thai stars and their characters in the series:

1. Krist Perawat as WaTee
PersonaliTEE and unique traits: As someone dealing with trust issues, WaTee hates seeking help from others but is willing to sacrifice in order to keep his childhood home and the happy memories that once lived in it. Now dependent on the five tenants to be able to pay his mortgage, all while dealing with the recent loss of his mother, he remains reserved and refuses to open up to his new housemates.

Where you might have spotted Krist: Viewers must be excited to see Krist in another Thai series as he has already held two fan meets in the Philippines back in 2018 and 2019.

2. Singto Prachaya as MaiTee
PersonaliTEE and unique traits: MaiTee is someone who is scared of receiving good news and getting disappointed. He is also a neat freak germaphobe who loves to cook but ends up getting on the nerves of his housemates because of how organized and clean he wants everything to be.

PersonaliTEE and unique traits: TeeRex is the ever-reliable housemate who is always willing to lend a helping hand to others. As much as he loves the company of others, you will not really hear much from him since he is a cellphone addict who only likes to communicate through social media messenger apps.

Where you might have spotted Gun: Viewers can also look forward to more of Gun, who visited the Philippines in 2018, as he stars in “Theory of Love” where he plays filmology major Third. It streams soon on iWant TFC.

Where you might have spotted Tay: Pinoys are already familiar with Tay since he joined the iWant original Japanese game show “Find the Wasabi in Nagoya,” where he competed with Filipino actor Khalil Ramos. He visited the Philippines in 2018 for a meet-and-greet with fans and he also starred in “Dark Blue Kiss,” which will soon be available for streaming on iWant TFC.

6. New Thitipoom as TeeDet
PersonaliTEE and unique traits: TeeDet is easy-going, just not around beautiful women because he suffers from gynophobia, an intense fear of beautiful women. Another thing about this forestry student is he declines to take part in certain activities because he is afraid of failing and being criticized afterwards. He is also the type to nag everyone around him even if he himself cannot get the job done.

Where you might have spotted New: New also starred in “Dark Blue Kiss” and has also brought joy to his fans when he visited Manila in 2018 for his fan event with Tay.

5 Friends Portray Millennial Characters in iWant's "Manilennials"

2:38:00 PM

Talk about Millennials, they are the ones born after Generation X. They  are often labeled as lazy, self-entitled, and conceited by older generations. If they’re not asserting their opinions online, they could be writing an essay’s worth of feelings for all too see. It has been said that they’re notorious job-hoppers who seem to always want more and are easily offended. That's how they are stereotyped, so what do you think are they too optimistic, too cynical, or too “woke”?

Whether they’re true or not, these so-called characteristics have been the subject of many thinkpieces and practical jokes. But is there more to these stereotypes than meets the eye? What does it mean to be a millennial living in Manila today?

Enter iWant’s ~unfiltered~ dark comedy original series “Manilennials,” which depicts the challenges and social issues that millennials in Manila get to face on a daily basis. Here, Fifth Solomon, Chai Fonacier, Nicco Manalo, Mela Habijan, and Ria Atayde star as five friends navigating their ambitions, identities, and values while finding themselves, with the busy and colorful rollercoaster ride that is Manila as their backdrop.

Written and directed by millennials for millennials and even produced by an all-millennial team, “Manilennials” is sure to enlighten viewers and will give you five new friends to root for.

Here are “Manilennial’s” five unique individuals that will make you say “ravern!” (“laban” in normal-speak):

1. FIFTH SOLOMON AS KIKO, THE BROKE BUT ENTITLED BUM

Kiko, 29, is an openly gay man, frustrated with his career, and has a hard time motivating himself. He knows that he hasn’t amounted much in life, especially being almost 30 years of age. Always cash-strapped as he keeps refusing jobs he thinks are “below” him, Kiko doesn’t have a stable relationship and can be quite dishonest with himself.

Although he is a sweetheart on the inside, he uses anger and bitterness to hide his weaknesses and shortcomings and defend his point of view.

2. CHAI FONACIER AS YEYE, THE PRIVILEGED, WOKE ARTIST

The anti-hipster hipster. Yeye may be a pansexual, drunkard chain-smoker, but she is also a talented artist full of wit. She tries hard to be politically aware but often forgets to factor in her privileges. And even though she seems self-assured, Yeye also secretly yearns people’s affection and approval.

Aside from her poetic slangs and philandering, her eclectic and quirky outfits are also to watch out for.

3. NICCO MANALO AS ART, THE AMBITIOUS AND LOYAL WANNA-BE RAPPER

Empathetic and unassuming, Art is the one of nicest guys you will ever meet. He works in a call center and finds stability in his job, but on the side, he aspires to be known as a rapper online. He tries his best to improve his performances, but comes off as “trying hard.”

Regardless, he is a reliable and loyal friend, who surprisingly is also a romantic.

4. MELA HABIJAN AS RUTH, THE HARDWORKING, NO-TIME-FOR-LOVE GO-GETTER

Conservative and old-fashioned Ruth is a pre-op transwoman who is a caterer by profession and always strives to be successful. Her driven attitude stems from her need to prove to other people her self-worth. This makes dating just an unnecessary distraction to her.

Self-motivation fuels her, but this trait also makes her susceptible to disingenuous influences.

5. RIA ATAYDE AS MISSY, THE BUBBLY AND UNAPOLOGETIC ASPIRING LAWYER

Although she is the kikay-type, perky, and social media savvy, Missy is also vain and insecure about her looks. Although a brilliant pre-law student, she has this idealistic views on relationships and life in general, and the parameters she sets hinders her from fostering a healthy relationship. She’s at ease, unapologetic, and even protective of her “burgis” status.

In truth, she is haunted by the death of her dad, which affects her relationships, especially with her mother, whom she still lives with.

Grab your friends and binge-watch “Manilennials,” now streaming for free on the iWant app (iOs and Android) or iwant.ph.

Yam Concepcion and Joseph Marco in an iWant Series about Separated but Living Under One Roof entitled "Uncoupling"

1:56:00 PM

What can go wrong when timing is a bit unfriendly? Well, just got into a media conference of this new series that will air on iWant this coming December 20. The iWant series stars Yam Concepcion and Joseph Marco in a story of failed relationship while living under one roof, "Uncoupling".

According to its director Dwein Baltazar, they got the idea of the story after hearing and learning that some of the big foreign actors and actresses revealed that they are uncoupled already. Thus, creating this light, funny but realistic story that revolves around the story of Alex played by Yam Concepcion and Carlo portrayed by Joseph Marco who decides to become friends after their marriage crumbles - all for the sake of their only son.

This is husband and wife who have fallen out of love and have been struggling, for years, to save their marriage. On the eve their anniversary, they mutually decide to "uncouple" and live their separate lives while figuring out how to keep their family intact. Probably, one setting that is uncomfortable and uncontrollable.

Their plan is all set and all is well until reality sets in. It does not take too long before their devoted in-laws enter the already complex picture and try to get them back together.

As they go into an uncharted territory, will Alex and Carlo be able to protect their son from the grief over their complicated setup? Is it really possible for two parents and former lovers to move on from each other while being together?

Sincere and sprinkled with lighthearted comedy, "Upcoming" tackles the reality of married couples' struggles today.

Co-produced by iWant and Big Reveal Entertainment, "Uncoupling" is directed by Dwein Baltazar, who also directed the acclaimed iWant original series "Past, Present, Perfect?," wrote the blockbuster movie "Exes Baggage," and won Best Director and Bes Screenplay for her movie "Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus" - also named Best Picture - at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Science (FAMAS) Awards 2019.

Watch and stream "Uncoupling" for free starting on Friday, December 20 on the iWant app or iwant.ph.

5 Point Process of How Arjo Atayde Creates An Effective Character Specially Benjo Malaya in Bagman's New Season

11:03:00 PM

I'm not an actor and not even a very known movie critic but I'm just a blogger who loves movies and series very much. I'm not very keen on remembering the names of the stars and directors, but when heard of the movie title or a plot of the story that gives me the idea of what it is or what it was. I like seeing artists create effective different characters or different personas. Knowing how they were able to do that is something that ordinary people or fans would love to know. Me, I'm really eager to know their process on how they do it.

One of the best parts of being an entertainment blogger is that you get to come to press conferences and interviews that are somehow exclusive. Glad that I, together with some other bloggers, were scheduled to have an interview with one of the interesting actors from the Kapamilya Network, Arjo Atayde. So, it's a great opportunity to ask the question that has been lingering in my head.

How does an actor like Arjo Atayde be able to create an effective role without seeing any traces of nuances and other personalities in his previous characters, knowing that he moves from one teleserye to another? This is my piece that I was able to ask from Arjo and he gladly gave his reply.

So here are some of the points that he does to make sure that the nuances and personalities of the previous roles he played are not be seen in his current character and how he does his acting so good.

1. He doesn't watch himself on the monitor or doesn't watch the preview during the shooting.
2. He tries to remember the established nuances of the character that he plays and he does that after watching the pilot episodes.
3. He firmly holds on to the character together with the nuances and personalities throughout the season of the teleserye.
4. He doesn't read the script and watch himself through the monitor during the shoot. He watches everything after and tries to learn his mistakes.
5. He studies and tries to have a deeper understanding not only himself, his character, but everyone around him.

In the new season of Bagman, Arjo Atayde continuously plays the character of Benjo Malaya. Still, a bagman but this time it comes with a different level of being a bagman, it now comes with power, being the governor of the province. From 'barbero' to 'politiko'. This is one good example of Arjo's transition of characters. Though the character that he plays is the same, it somehow changes in appearance and personality. From a barber with less knowledge about politics to a governor that stirs everyone possible loopholes in the government system just to make a project be done.

Arjo, having no knowledge about how politicians or politics go around made an interesting portrayal of a governor that rose from the lower class of the government to a more honorable and respectable politician.

If he has convinced you with his character Benjo Malaya then you'll probably be more hooked on his new personality.

Like I mentioned earlier I'm not a good reviewer or critic but I find Bagman comparable with the series in that are flourishing online. It's dark, interesting, eye-opener, and something to be proud of, not only with Arjo but with the whole casts of Bagman. It wouldn't be a good series if it wasn't for the actors who played their characters very well. Like what Arjo said in the interview, he doesn't only study his character but also the characters of his co-actors in order to understand deeply their roles.

If I made you interested in this simple review about Arjo and the series Bagman, better have iWant on your phone and watch it. It is now streaming on iWant.

7 Interesting Facts to Know About Stephen Rong, The New Taiwanese Heartthrob to Look Out For

7:09:00 AM

Is it going to be Jerry Yan's replacement or just simply another heartthrob to look out for? Well, whatever it may come, the good news is that we have an interesting story to watch. Yes, this Taiwanese actor-heartthrob, Stephen Rong, is one of the lead stars of iWant’s original romantic comedy-fantasy series “Taiwan That You Love.” In the digital series, Stephen plays Wei-Ting, the brooding bad boy who falls for Barbie Imperial’s Ivi and clashes with Paulo Angeles’ Eric – a love triangle whipped up by a magical book and destiny.

So for those drooling already of his Instagram posts. Here are some interesting facts to know more about this “Taiwan That You Love” star:

1. He’s also an avid fan of the hit “Meteor Garden” series.

Stephen eagerly shares that—like the rest of us—he grew up with the popular F4 series. “I watched it in high school, and that was one of the things that influenced me to go for acting,” says the Taiwanese actor. He even relates to the character of Hua Ze Lei, claiming he is also ‘the quiet one’ who jokes around with people he chooses to open up to.

2. Like most Filipinos, he loves Jollibee.

“I love it! That was the first thing I told them I wanted to eat when I got here. They got me the box with everything,” he excitedly declares. When it comes to Taiwanese food, however, he has a hard time choosing a favorite dish or delicacy, but would totally recommend a comforting bowl of beef noodle soup.

3. He’s single.

Yep, you read that right. Good-looking and physically fit as he is, the Taiwanese cutie isn’t seeing anyone right now. Stephen openly shared that he finds Filipinas attractive. If he were to date one, he claimed that he would probably bring her to Taiwan’s night market or explore the beautiful beaches in Cebu. With his singing chops, he would most likely be serenading the lucky girl with songs from his favorite artists such as Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry.

4. He’s an all-around multi-talented guy but was supposed to be a dentist.

The now actor, singer-songwriter, DJ, model, and the host was born in Virginia, United States, and was a Biology major back in college. But after one wakeup call, he flew to Taiwan by himself and started joining singing competitions. He admits he wasn’t great at it at first, but started getting better and was then offered hosting and acting jobs. Once, he was even challenged in a stage play by performing 18 different characters.

5. He experienced tragedy before realizing he wanted to start acting.

At 19, in his third year of college, Stephen lost a friend to the Virginia Tech shooting. “Because one of my friends was the first one to go… I realized that there are a lot of things that I wanted to do. After his passing, I kind of woke up and decided that I wanted to try entertainment. That’s why I flew to Taiwan by myself and try from scratch to try to find myself in an artistic way,” shares Stephen.

6. He was initially nervous about #PauBie shippers.

Stephen knew he was coming in as another element in Barbie and Paulo’s relationship in the digital series and didn’t want PauBie shippers to hate him. But when he finally met the two, he found himself bonding with them during their eight-day shoot in Taiwan. He only has good things to say about his co-stars, who, he shares, were really helpful and extremely easy to work with.

7. He wants to star in a horror movie.

He doesn’t want to be the last survivor though. “I really want to be the second to the last person who dies. That person doesn’t live, but he sacrifices himself for that last person,” he explains. He also wants to try out Kung Fu movies, as “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” was his favorite movie growing up.
