4 Fresh Songs Perfect for Your Listening Habit This New Year

11:03:00 PM

The best way to put your year in rhythm is to listen fresh songs from different artists. Let this be your listening habit to make you in tune with your goals and resolutions. These new music will accompany you as a listener to a journey of reflection, healing, and new beginnings.

Here are some of the freshest tunes to blast in welcoming the new year:

1. Zion PH x KZ Tandingan – “Bagong Yugto”

The new year often connotes a new chapter, a fresh start, and shying away from the pain of the past year by moving forward with life. But moving on from the hurt is not easy, and uncertainties abound especially with opening oneself to another person again. This is explored in KZ Tandingan and Zion’s collaboration “Bagong Yugto,” which despite voicing doubts on entering a new relationship, also hints that it may, indeed, work out just fine.

2. Leila Alcasid – “Better Weather”

Leila Alcasid’s chill new record is basically a love letter about meeting someone new who has made a positive impact in your life. Perfect for someone who needs to have faith again in the beauty of love, it expresses the fresh yet intense emotions of wanting to cherish a relationship that has just begun, but could also possibly last a lifetime.

3. JMKO – “Aahon”

This emotional ballad by emerging singer-songwriter JMKO will surely resonate with couples who have been separated by fate, since it talks about a person’s unrelenting desire to rise up and weather any challenge just to be reunited with a special someone. “Aahon” will also be used as the theme song of the Chinese drama “Story of Yanxi Palace,” which will soon be airing on ABS-CBN.

4. “Agsunta - Hayskul Hits”

Even though it’s inevitable to enter the new year with the urgency to forge ahead and leave terrible memories behind, it’s also important to preserve all the wonderful moments of life that are worth reminiscing. Agsunta’s nostalgia-filled track “Hayskul Hits” takes listeners back to their high school days, and talks about relatable topics such as forgotten friendships, classroom bullies, kikay classmates, and of course, undying first loves.

Moira's “YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE” Cover Used In U.S. DRUG AWARENESS VIDEO

2:43:00 PM

An interesting news about Moira dela Torre and her song cover. It isn't just been known locally but will be reaching more ears. Moira’s “You Are My Sunshine” rendition gave a touching accompaniment to a high school video that won in the Elks Drug Awareness Program in the United States because of its throbbing depiction of how drug use affects families and leads to loss of loved ones.

The “Sunshine” video—featuring a progression of a precious baby girl into a rebellious teenager who got entangled in drug use—received the National Award for Best High School Video Public Service Announcement in August this year.

Moira’s heartwarming recording, released as part of the soundtrack of the 2018 Filipino film “Meet Me in St. Gallen,” was used in the “Sunshine” video directed by Sandy Beach (EMHS ’19) representing El Modena High School in California and produced by EMTV.

The contest organizer, Elks Drug Awareness Program, later partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice and a popular YouTube channel, FBE (19M subscribers), to produce a reaction video which features the winning video, “Sunshine,” as well as some former drug addicts talking about their painful journey and recovery.

Listen to Moira’s touching rendition of “You Are My Sunshine” and check out the “Sunshine” video here. For more details on the Filipina singer’s latest music, follow @Starmusicph on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Yeng Embraces Pop-Rock Origins in Her Latest Single "SANA NA LANG”

6:13:00 AM

Yeng Constantino, one of the female artists, I consider a rock not only with her music but with her personality as well. It's great to hear another songs from her again as she goes back to her roots in her newest song “Sana Na Lang,” a pop rock track which she recorded with her bandmates and longtime friends, Gray Sky Sun.

Reminiscent of her sound during her early years in the music industry, “Sana Na Lang” is effortlessly complimented by Gray Sky Sun’s impressive musicality and the pop rock princess’ unique tone.

Produced under Star Music, the single explores a person’s yearning for another’s love and affection, despite the hopelessness of their situation. It expresses the person’s desire to be seen by the object of her affection and for fate to be on her side in her quest for romance.

The first Grand Star Dreamer of “Pinoy Dream Academy,” Yeng is one of the most versatile singers in the country. Her albums have consistently been awarded gold or platinum statuses, apart from making surefire hits like “Hawak Kamay,” “Salamat,” “Chinito,” and “Ikaw.” She’s also part of the rich roster of talented artists under ABS-CBN Music—home to many of the best OPM music of today from the country’s leading media and entertainment company, ABS-CBN.

Listen to Yeng’s “Sana Na Lang” single on Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music and watch out for its music video on ABS-CBN’s Star Music YouTube channel. Her upcoming album is slated for release in March next year. For more details, like Star Music on facebook.com/starmusicph, and follow it on Twitter and Instagram @StarMusicPH

“We all have gifts or skills or talents and whatever it is that you feel you like to do, yun ang kapalaran mo”, Glaiza said as she wants to encourage her listeners not to be pressured to what the society tells or dictates you to feel, keep pushing to what you want because whatever it is, it is your destiny.

Aside from its unique melody and range, adding spice to the music is singer/songwriter and spoken word artist Juan Miguel Severo’s spoken verse-- making it more soulful and heartfelt. Glaiza has always admired Juan Miguel for his words, sincerity, and power to communicate.

"Perfect siya sa song kasi I wanted to convey a strong message and it's impossible not to listen to him when he says something,” Glaiza added.

3 Things To Know About Karencitta's Cebuana

4:10:00 PM

Another Pinay blooded artist raves the internet waves as she makes everyone dance and sing along with her music. Karencitta or Karen Ann Cabrera is a Pinay Cebuana based in Los Angeles who went viral with her music entitled "Cebuana". It is really prevalent that singing is innate with most of us Filipinos and it just couldn't stop Filipinos to go head to head with everyone when it comes to singing.

Karencitta's song "Cebuana" is first thought to be an international or foreign music because of the upbeat sound and different rhythm that is not particularly noticed in the local beat. Now what's more surprising with the music is that it is a mix of English and the local language Visaya or particularly Cebuana.  For our foreign readers Cebuana can be interpreted in two ways the one is for the native women of Cebu while the other one is the language spoken by the locals of Cebu. Cebu is one province in the Visayan region of the Philippines.

There are three (3) things to know about the "Cebuana" song why it became hit and viral.
  1. The created song, which is the Cebuana, has an international sound and beat quality that surpassed territorial music patterns. In simpler term it got an international appeal that the present generation would love to hear.
  2. The song is not only bilingual but almost multilingual because the writer of the song used different languages fused into one music. This made it even more foreign but still good to the ear music.
  3. The singer, Karencitta, show so much passion in singing the song and dancing with the beat of the music, just like any other known Filipino singers who sung out with their soul.
One more great and interesting singer to watch out for. In case you haven't heard and watched her music, check out the video below and comment away what you think of her and her music.

Girls Described in Ex-Battalion & O.C Dawgs Song "Hayaan Mo Sila"

1:58:00 AM
One of the trending videos on youtube is spreading its rhythm on the local scene. Ex Battalion & O.C. Dawgs' "Hayaan Mo Sila" - Bosx1ne, Jnske, King Badger, Brando, Bullet-D, Flow-G, and Skusta Clee. This rap song will truly make you go with the flow. Released and produced under Ex Battalion Music. The music describes the different type of girls that hurts or will hurt men.

Naturally, men are always on the limelight of being the F...Boy but on this music he is the broken-hearted one and the music is what his friends advises to him which is "Hayaan Mo Sila" (Leave Them Alone or Let Them Be).

In the music girls are described and differentiated accordingly - a user and a digger. One that fools around when they don't need you anymore or will leave when you can offer no more. They may be right or they may be wrong but hey it's their song.

Listen to the song and enjoy!
