8 Reasons Why You Need to Watch A Soldier's Heart

1:40:00 AM

Giving honor to our country is one the highest way a person can declare his nationalism, and there are lots of different ways to show that love for the country. You can give honor by winning in athletic events or other competitions. There is also the easiest way to serve the country, become a soldier.

No one knows much how hard it is to become a soldier, especially now that Citizen's Army Training (CAT) and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) are not part of the school curriculum. While others view it as irrelevant to be part of the training in school, others see its importance - the value of leadership, the bond of camaraderie, and the need to be resourceful.

Interestingly, TV networks now are showcasing Pinoy Soldier themed TV Series. It's not only to let viewers know their struggles and hardship but also the worth of what they are doing. Of course, there are always two sides of the coin, the good and the bad, but we'd rather see the good part than the evil one.

Here are our eight (8) reasons why you should watch A Soldier's Heart.
  1. Gerald Anderson - aside from being the lead star of this TV series, let us see him as the character of Alex. Without spoiling much, Alex perceives the military men as heroes who are risking their lives so that others may live.
  2. Yves Flores - playing the role of Benjie who's brother died in action has set his mind to be like his brother. To serve and protect the country.
  3. Carlo Aquino - portraying the role of Abe is probably challenging. Abe is a Moro who wants to be a soldier to protect the country. With this, we can all learn a different view about life.
  4. Nash Aguas - gave everyone a bit of a scare during their training. He almost quit playing the role of Michael, aka Striker. Yes, according to them, all of the lead stars undergone a three (3) day training to familiarize them with the military. His character enlists in the military to have a decent job.
  5. Jerome Ponce - plays the character of Phil. Not much background yet about him, but he'll be one of the soldiers wanting to prove something.
  6. Vin Abrenica - playing the role of Elmer, the brother of Alex. The first to become a soldier just like their father. He's always competing with Alex, especially with their parents' attention.
  7. Elmo Magalona - Mistah or body of Elmer, just like Elmer he's seeking the attention of his father, who's also in the military.
  8. Sue Ramirez - played the character of Lourd, the sole woman in the group who is out to prove that serving the country is genderless.

These are your weeknight's reason to watch A Soldier's Heart. Expect each character to unravel their stories and their reasons for joining the army.

1:47:00 AM

One of the strongest love team in showbiz, the onscreen love team and real life sweethearts Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla remained Kapamilyas as they sign their respective three-year contracts with the network yesterday, January 15.

After working on projects separately for more than a year, the phenomenal box office couple shared their sentiments on what people should expect, now that the sought after KathNiel tandem will be back on TV this year with an upcoming teleserye, “Tanging Mahal.”

“It’s going to be something fresh, especially that we have waited for this to happen again. I think that the fans are really excited to see us work together again, and personally, we are excited for this, too,” Daniel shared.

Aside from his project with Kathryn, Daniel also mentioned his excitement about his movie titled “Whether the Weather is Fine” with ABS-CBN executive and veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio.

“I’m hoping that people would watch out for this film because this is really different, this is something new. The attack is different, the feel of the movie is different, that’s why it’s exciting.” Daniel mused.

Kathryn, on the other hand, shared her happiness about the support she’s gaining from her YouTube channel, “Everyday Kath,” which garnered almost a million subscribers in just two weeks after its first vlog release.

“I’m happy. More than the subscribers, I’m more delighted towards the comments that we receive because we do not know that a simple glimpse into our personal lives would have a positive effect on them,” Kathryn shared.

KathNiel fans should also watch out for a comeback movie that the love team will be cooking for this year.

When asked about how they feel towards staying a Kapamilya, Daniel answered “Very happy and very thankful that ABS-CBN still trusts us the same way we trust it. We’re very happy, blessed, and excited for the things in store for us.”

Present in the signing were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN president and chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak, chief operating officer of broadcast Cory Vidanes, TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, Star Magic head Johnny Manahan, and head of treasury Rick Tan.

MAJA, GEOFF, JANELLA, and JOSHUA Fight For Their Lives in “THE KILLER BRIDE” | Is It Near The Finale?

11:30:00 AM

It feels that it was just yesterday when I published my blog post about the 5 Reasons How Viewers Are Lead To Think Camila Is A Ghost in Killer Bride, I even coined that "nabudol tayo ni Camila". Now, The Killer Bride is nearing its finale and the series made an interesting impact to its viewers. A kind of TV series that is comparable to other international TV Series.

During the Media Thanksgiving Day of The Killer Bride it was shared that the series has its time frame and it will end on that specific date. But of course, the directors and writers assured that more plots of the story will unfold. One of which, is Camila (Maja Salvador), Vito (Geoff Eigenmann), Emma (Janella Salvador), and Elias (Joshua Garcia) will face the biggest battle of their lives as they take down Alice (Precious Lara Quigaman), who disguised herself as the feared killer groom, and make sure she finally meets her demise in the gripping remaining weeks of “The Killer Bride.”

The speculations behind the true identity of the killer groom finally ended last Friday (December 13) after Alice was revealed as the person behind the masked murderer. But being exposed will not hinder Alice from putting all her evil ploys to work, especially her plans of revenge against Camila.

Meanwhile, a darker side of Las Espadas will unravel now that viewers can uncover the town’s most gruesome and controversial secrets in the series’ extended version “The Killer Bride: Killer Cuts,” which exclusively streams on iWant.

“The Killer Bride: Killer Cuts” shows the primetime series’ unrated and uncensored scenes, hinting answers to some of the most mind-boggling questions while taking everyone to the characters’ last moments before their horrific end.

Adding to the terror are the sky lanterns, which fly every time a person meets their untimely demise. Viewers should take note of the episodes with the sky lantern logos on iWant as these are the ones that contain the “Killer Cuts.”

As the series nears its finale, “The Killer Bride” remains as one of the most watched primetime series in the country. It hit an all-time high national TV rating of 25.6%, according to data from Kantar Media.

Don’t miss the “The Killer Bride,” weeknight on ABS-CBN. For more information, follow ABS-CBN PR on Facebook (fb.com/abscbnpr), Twitter (@abscbnpr), and Instagram (@abscbnpr).

6 Interesting Kapamilya Teleseryes With Characters That Show Sacrifice is the Ultimate Act of Love

9:12:00 AM

A kwento or stories of sacrifices, we give you the meaning of sacrifice for love as we delve into the different characters in different kapamilya shows that are all about the ultimate act of love. For us Filipinos, we never think twice when we are talking about sacrificing for our loved ones, for their happiness or even risking the lives for the families.

In Kapamilya teleseryes, we get to watch characters whose lives mirror our own – whether it’s prioritizing our loved ones’ needs above our own, giving up our own life to save someone else’s, or putting our dreams on hold.

Here are six examples from Kapamilya characters that show real love is an ultimate act of selflessness:

1. MIKMIK IN “NANG NGUMITI ANG LANGIT”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-qRwTbYJSw

Despite her young age, Mikmik has already had a taste of the cruel life. But all her hardships only made her stronger, and her pure heart has always been her weapon in facing all obstacles head on. She even risked her life for her father Michael (RK Bagatsing) when she took the bullet to save him from Katrina (Cristine Reyes). Though she has all the reasons to hate on her enemy, Mikimik still found it in her heart to forgive Katrina and be thankful for having another chance to be with her family.

2. CHICO IN “PAMILYA KO”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0Y2q9oB4Ck

Chico (JM De Guzman) is a dependable brother to his family, especially to his siblings as he tries to attend to each of their needs. However, the tragic death of his brother Jack, which his mother Luz (Sylvia Sanchez) indirectly blames him for, has caused him to be an outcast in his own household. However, this did not hinder Chico from reaching out to his family as he continues to endure the pain of not belonging just to be with them. He learned about his father Fernan’s (Joey Marquez) infidelity, but chose to bear the pain himself instead of revealing the well-kept secret in order to keep his family intact.

3. FABIO IN “THE KILLER BRIDE”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEwD_QgD-nY

Blood may not always thicker than water. Fabio (Miko Raval) is a great father to Emma (Janella Salvador), despite the two not being related by blood. He made her feel the love that Emma did not get from Camila (Maja Salvador) and became her source of strength. When Fabio discovered Camila’s plans of using Emma to seek revenge on Las Espadas, he instantly confronted Camila and tried to take away their adopted daughter from the forthcoming danger. However, as he listened to Camila’s plea, he decided to stay in Las Espadas, putting his life on the line not only to ensure his family’s safety, but also to help Camila finally close the darkest chapter of her life.

4. TERESA IN “STARLA”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh8JBiOG0yA

While her father Greggy (Joel Torre) was doing time in prison for saving the life of a stranger, young Teresa (Heaven Peralejo) was left to take care of her sick mother. Struggling with balancing school and working to earn money for her mother’s treatment, Tere had to give up her life as a normal teenager for the sake of her mom’s well-being. While she pleaded for help from neighbors who shunned her away, Tere learned to stand up on her own and sold ‘balut’ even during school hours. Even with blooming feelings for kindhearted Philip (Brace Arquiza), she instantly told him off and explained that her time was only dedicated to her dear mother.

5. CARDO IN “FPJ’s ANG PROBINSYANO”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKDs3OE4fxU

Cardo (Coco Martin) is a symbol of patriotism, having sacrificed his life countless of times to save people in need. He became a police officer who busted the biggest gangs and modus operandi that victimized the public, a member of the vigilante group Vendetta who seized some of the most corrupt officials, and now the leader of Task Force AGILA who just ended the life of one of the country’s most wanted criminals. It is a tough job, but Cardo never once lost his fire to be of service to his fellowmen.

6. JOAN AND CORDELIA IN “SANDUGO”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jzJV-HZTR0

To what lengths can a mother go just to provide for her child? “Sandugo’s” chaotic story began when Joan (Cherry Pie Picache) gave up her son Aris in exchange for money to save the life of her other sickly son, JC, who was running out of time and was in dire need of an operation. Her heartbreaking decision did not sit with her well, and she came to regret what she did and ran after Aris. But in “Sandugo,” the story of parents sacrificing even their values and principles to give their kids a better future is the outstanding theme – Cordelia (Vina Morales) even got into stripping and entertaining just to make ends meet and send her son to school.
