It’s a Thursday afternoon and Kwento Ni Toto is up for a melodic beauty of the female survivor of the artista search in the country. Perhaps this day can be called as a throwback Thursday for Jennylyn Mercado as she shares in the blog conference her career right after winning as the Ultimate Female Survivor of the reality artista search, StarStruck. Her humble beginning and up to now sums up to her first decade in the entertainment industry and to mark that she releases her latest album “Never Alone” under GMA Records.
It’s a fun, loose and non-formal conference with Jennylyn Mercado at Mom and Tina’s Bakery Cafe. Everyone shoots their questions at her and she answers them instantly. She’s single, loveless but definitely happy and does great in her career, that’s according to her and she even adds up that it’s great that she can do all the things that she’s doing now.
“Never Alone” is her 6th album since she started her career. Her previous releases are “Living The Dream” which is her first album, “Letting Go,” “Kahit Sandali,” “Love Is…,” and “Forever By Your Side”. The album contains 11 songs, three of which are revivals and duets with fellow Kapuso artists. This includes “Never Gonne Let You Go,” a duet with the King of Soul Janno Gibbs, “After All,” a duet with Dennis Trillo and “Till My Heartaches End,” an Ella May Saison Original.
The album contains songs that will forever immortalize love stories of GMA teleseryes. The carrier single, “Basta’t Nandito Ka” is being used as the theme song in the Koreanovela “Return of the Wife,” while the song “Kaya Ko Na” is the secondary theme song in the primetime teleserye “My Destiny.” The famous song from “Rhodora X” entitled “Sa Hatinggabi” is also included in the album.
The two songs “Basta’t Nandito Ka” and “Kaya Ko Na” were both penned by premier composer Vehnee Saturno, the same composer who made Jennylyn’s biggest hit “Kahit Sandali.”
The album “Never Alone” is available on digital format via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Deezer. It is also available on CDs at Astroplus, Astro Vision, Odyssey Music and Video, The Landmark, and SM Music and Video outlets nationwide.
