GIN IS IN: Ginebra's White Celebration for World Gin Day

2:38:00 PM

Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI), the maker of the world's number one selling gin, geared up to commemorate World Gin Day (WGD) with "cool, clear, and versatile way of celebration. The festivities will unfold with a media launch on June 8 at The Westin Manila in Ortigas, followed by a series of events throughout June that will underscore the significance of this month as World Gin Month.

The World Gin Day (WGD), a worldwide event held on the second Saturday of June, is led in the Philippines by GSMI, the organization responsible for introducing the initial WGD festivities to the Asia Pacific region in 2014. In that particular year, GSMI commemorated the 180th anniversary of its flagship brand, Ginebra San Miguel. Presently, enthusiasts of gin eagerly anticipate GSMI's month-long series of events, not only honoring the enduring impact of gin on our drinking customs but also acknowledging its significance in festivities, fiestas, gatherings, and even our daily accomplishments.

“We join gin enthusiasts worldwide in celebrating World Gin Day. As pioneers of this event in our country, we aspire to ignite the spirit of greater appreciation for more Filipinos to know gin’s outstanding qualities, as it is a drink that is ‘Cool, Clear, and Versatile,’” says GSMI Marketing Manager Ron Molina.

‘Cool, Clear, and Versatile’

This June 8, GSMI once again reinforces that “Gin Is In,” highlighting gin’s “Cool, Clear, and Versatile” qualities that elevate it from the rest.

Gin has been around since the 17th century, and remains popular to this day, especially in Europe, and of course, the Philippines. It is loved by many, and its popularity can be attributed to its taste—the flavor of Juniper and a variety of botanicals—allowing gin to exude that classic yet “Cool” vibe.

The gin’s “Clear,” pure quality is derived from a rigorous distillation process that brings out its best flavor. Since it is unpretentious – with nothing to hide – it is a drink known for its “Versatility,” as it can be enjoyed straight or mixed with other ingredients in a cocktail.

In a new campaign supporting the appreciation for Gin, GSMI features three exciting and authentic personalities who perfectly embody these unique characteristics of gin.

Gin Is Cool.

The actor and model Zanjoe Marudo likes the cool and refreshing gin experience to punctuate the day. For him, being cool is more than style and moves; it is being calm, too. “Alam niyo kung anong totoong COOL sakin? Yung pagiging kalmado ko (You know what’s truly cool for me? It is my being calm),” says Zanjoe. His choice of gin is popular to this day – Ginebra San Miguel, which has been his favorite since his days growing up in Batangas.

Gin Is Clear.

Basel Manadil’s choice is GSM Premium Gin, a distilled gin made with natural ingredients and fine botanicals. Popularly known as “The Hungry Syrian,” the Syrian-born Filipino vlogger’s viral posts have made him a clear favorite among millions of netizens. As he would say, “always be CLEAR with your intentions no matter where you go. Because everything you do, can make an impact to others.”

Gin is Versatile.

Actress comedian Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol likes her gin to be versatile, a drink she can enjoy in many ways. This love for versatility in drinks is something that she also carries in life. The fact that this comedian was able to transform herself into a serious pageant contender truly is outstanding and admirable. Herlene has won over Filipinos with her charming wit, down-to-earth personality, and of course, her remarkable versatility. “In life, dapat VERSATILE (In life, one should be versatile). If you are good at one thing, you can also be good at anything! Stay true while learning many things.”

The three of them – Zanjoe, Basel, and Herlene – will not only grace the WGD celebration but will also be present at various events of GSMI during “Gin Is In” celebrations starting in June.

“We are proud to say that they truly embody the best qualities of gin: Zanjoe is ‘Cool like Gin Is In.’ Basel is ‘Clear like Gin Is In,’ and Herlene is ‘Versatile like Gin Is In,’” Molina added.

GSM Bar Academy graduates ‘mix’ back

One of the highlights of the WGD event is the presence of three mixologists who are scholar-graduates of the Ginebra San Miguel Bar Academy, a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) that gives Filipinos a chance to change their lives through education – training students in bartending, flairtending, and basic entrepreneurship.

With the goal of producing globally-competitive and job-ready graduates, while elevating the quality of the bartending profession in the process, the GSM Bar Academy is proud to say that it has produced an astounding 100% immediate employability for all its graduates in 2022.

During WGD, three graduates of the GSM Bar Academy – Jhyrus Denver A. Domingo, Angela Felarca, and JP Peñaflor – who are all employed in top bars in Metro Manila, will showcase their mixology skills in a friendly competition with the theme, “Gin Is In, ” which will feature the world’s most popular and bestselling gin Ginebra San Miguel and other brands, GSM Blue and GSM Premium Distilled Gin.

The success of the GSM Bar Academy in transforming the lives not only of the students but also of their families and the community has not gone unnoticed. In fact, the program will be a recipient of the prestigious International CSR Excellence Award, to be formally awarded on June 16 in London, UK.

‘Gin Is In’ Nationwide

Part of the WGD celebration will be the launch of the second season of G-MIX Nation Online Series, hosted by Luis Manzano, which will be shown for the first time and will feature new cocktail recipes. Alongside is the Home Bar Kit that features Ginebra products and tools for mixing different kinds of cocktails, which is sold online and at select supermarkets.

To ensure gin enthusiasts across the country can partake in the “Gin Is In” festivity, Ginebra San Miguel Inc. will also host mini events in around 50 bars nationwide, including those in Pampanga, Naga, Cebu, and Cagayan De Oro. These bar activations will offer consumers exclusive promotions, raffle giveaways, and outlet merchandising, providing an opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in the celebration.

To sustain the momentum of the “Gin Is In,” there will be various activities in hundreds on-premise outlets from July to December. Participating outlets will receive exclusive benefits, special “Gin Is In” stubs for consumers to support their patronage.

GSMI's World Gin Day celebration is just the beginning of a series of exciting events, allowing enthusiasts to declare their love and support for the vibrant local gin culture. In the country, gin is synonymous with Ginebra San Miguel. It is the country’s pioneering gin and the oldest consumer brand still in the market, but still remains cool, clear and versatile, a timeless classic yet still in tune with the times.

Each bottle of Ginebra San Miguel undergoes a stringent production process to ensure optimal quality. As a testament to the strength of its brand name, variants such as GSM Blue, GSM Blue Flavors, and Ginebra San Miguel Premium Gin, have been introduced to cater to different market segments. Just launched last year, its 1834 Premium Distilled Gin has now become a sought-after drink among those with sophisticated taste, as they are enamored with its infusion of classic juniper berries and unique Philippine botanicals such as Sampaguita and Calamansi.

GSMI is the producer of Ginebra San Miguel, the world’s largest-selling gin, according to leading global drinks journal, Drinks International. GSMI’s other quality distilled spirits include GSM Blue Light Gin, GSM Blue Mojito, GSM Blue Margarita, GSM Blue Gin Pomelo, GSM Premium Gin, 1834 Premium Distilled Gin, Antonov Vodka, Añejo Gold Rum, Primera Light Brandy, the Philippines’ no. 1 Chinese wine Vino Kulafu and the newly launched G&T Ultralight Spirit Drink.

Gatorade No Sugar fuels Filipinos forward this summer

7:49:00 AM

Summer beckons an array of vibrant activities beneath the radiant sun. Amidst scorching temperatures, an increasing number of Filipinos wholeheartedly embrace the vast expanse of the outdoors, cherishing moments with companions and venturing into novel avenues of skill acquisition and sportsmanship. However, the oppressive heat exacts a toll beyond mere dehydration, depleting essential nutrients crucial for maintaining fundamental bodily processes at an accelerated pace.

Medical journals and health experts warn that the likelihood of getting dehydrated is high during summertime. If not addressed immediately, the effects of dehydration may be irreparable and require lifelong treatment. Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) reminds everyone to hydrate regularly and pay close attention to how much sugar is consumed during the dry season.

Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI), the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country, supports this call by encouraging Filipinos to fight dehydration while staying fit and active with Gatorade No Sugar. This electrolyte drink helps recover the body’s lost minerals without the unnecessary calories from sugar.

Electrolytes are key to one’s physical performance and overall well-being, as they help balance the amount of water and nutrients in the body. They regulate nervous, motor, and cardiovascular functions so that mind and body perform as they should. “We lose more than water when we sweat, and we must take the necessary steps to continue nourishing our bodies to keep healthy. Gatorade No Sugar is packed with electrolytes and essential nutrients to replenish our bodies’ supply especially during the humid Philippine summer,” said PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick D. Ong.

Gatorade No Sugar helps ensure that more Filipinos get to enjoy being active this summer without compromising their health. It is available in leading convenience stores, supermarkets, and drug stores nationwide.

Aside from Gatorade, PCPPI also manufactures and distributes well-loved brands such as Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Mirinda, Mug, Sting, Tropicana, Lipton Iced Tea, Milkis, Chum Churum Soonhari, and Premier Purified Water. For more information about PCPPI and its products, please visit

16 Reasons to Enjoy Chicken at RedHead Chicken

8:20:00 PM

Sumptuous meals are delightful to pair with excellent quenching drinks. When you're into discovering dish for your hungry palate, you'll land to a meal that you will try over and over again. The reason? Well, they have good food, but for this place, they have 16 flavors that you'll want to try and eat all. Just like the tag line of Pokemon, "you gotta catch 'em all!" For this restaurant, RedHead Chicken, it already says on their billboard, "you gotta try them all."

It's not a new concept, but it brings a unique and exotic flavor. RedHead Chicken presents an impressive number of tastes to try together with their unlimited take of chicken wings, drums, and lollipops. If your palate is adventurous, then you'll definitely love its number of flavorings. I did try almost half from their list, and I enjoyed it very much. It's satisfying and it is an answer to your cravings. If I can alphabetize this, I would, but it seems that most of the names of the sauces start with the letter "S."

This newfound place of chicken haven is located, in one of the oldest cities in the Metro, Las Pinas. It is famous for its extraordinary instrument that produces a melodic and enchanting sound called the Bamboo Organ. Since I was in Elementary, this part of the city, has always been part of every itinerary of school tours.

So, enough with the brief history of the place and let us get it on with the food. Oh, by the way, one of the owners is JC Valdepenas. He's the one who entertained us, the bloggers.

So, where do we start? Let us start with the chickens. Yes, the chickens! Served in a wooden bento box style, it makes the dish stands out of the picture. It gives more emphasis on the chicken's golden brown color, rather than the plating, making it more enticing to eat. With today's adventurous taste, restaurant owners tend to make the food experience memorable, and for RedHead Chicken, it's their rooster of flavors that pops out. 16 different relishes are your reasons to go back.

The restaurant has levels of tastes, from sweet and tangy zest up to their extra hot level. The following flavors are:

The Sweet Level
  • Sweet BBQ - we all know it's an all-time favorite and it is loved by kids.
  • Sesame BBQ - your regular BBQ flavored even more with sesame.
  • Lemon Sesame - with a squeeze of lemon.
  • Teriyaki - Japanese style of sweet grill sauce.
  • Salted Egg - which, by the way, I find it not sweet but salty instead.
  • Creamy Cheese - it's sweet but salty because of the cheese.
  • Parmesan - it is the same with the cheese.

The Hot & Sweet Level
  • Spicy Garlic - just make sure you bring along your mint-flavored candies.
  • Spicy Honey - a spicy-sweet taste for someone who loves to mix sweet and spicy.
  • Hickory BBQ - not really sure of its taste, probably will try it once we dine back again very soon.
  • Honey Sriracha - I think this kind of spice is from India. A different kind of spiciness.
  • Spicy Garlic Butter - just like the garlic butter for shrimps.

The Extra Hot Level
  • Sriracha Flame - which is more of the sriracha flavor.
  • Pinoy Diable - this one is interesting because this the first time I tasted something like this. It's actually a spicy bagoong mixed with the chicken as its flavoring.
  • Blazing Hot - which for me is not that too hot.

Take note that if you order the Eat All You Can Chicken, you are given a 2-hour time limit to consume as much as you can. Of course, you need to finish it all without any leftovers. If you feel that you'll be needing something to drink to ease off the spiciness, well, you're in luck because they also have their Milktea, the Snowriffic Tea. It is an interesting pair for your spicy chicken, that's food and drinks in one store. Their drinks too have varieties of flavors to choose from. From your usual milktea flavors down to their fruit teas. More flavors to enjoy with.

Aside from chickens, they also have pasta, fries, and burgers, some variant for you in case you're needing something new other than chicken.

So, are you enticed with the 16 different flavors? Well, if you are, you can visit their stores in Las Pinas, that's beside Bernardo College or the other branches in Makati Area, one in Filmore St. near Cash and Carry and at Dian St near Arellano Ave. Or if you're into business and you find it interesting to have the business in your place, all you need to do is contact their FB Page just click Redhead Chicken. Don't forget to use our code when you decide to push through with the franchise #KWENTONITOTO!

That's it for now and more food and drinks to come!

Mang Inasal Brings a Busog sa Ihaw Sarap Meal

11:44:00 PM

Settling for meals that don't satisfy your hunger, when you can enjoy an affordable meal that gives satisfaction? Just like what Coco Martin asks in his latest Mang Inasal TV Ad "Sinong matutuwa sa laman-tiyan lang?"

The leading branded grilled chicken communicates anew its value-for-money proposition through an entertaining 15-second TV commercial featuring Mang Inasal’s long-time celebrity endorser.

For only P99, one can already have a satisfying meal of Mang Inasal Chicken Inasal that combines delicious thigh and juicy leg parts. It’s like having two orders of chicken served in one flavourful meal, making Coco Martin blurt out at the end of the TVC, that the Mang Inasal Chicken Inasal is truly a “Busog sa Ihaw Sarap!”

Busog sa Ihaw Sarap puts together Mang Inasal Chicken Inasal’s positioning of bigness (2-in-1 sa Laki) and craveability (Nuot sa Ihaw Sarap) given the product’s delectable taste that seeps through the chicken fibers.

For about a decade now, customers flock to Mang Inasal’s to grab a bite of its Chicken Inasal, making the enterprise one of Jollibee Foods Corporation’s fast-growing business units.

5 Different Salads from Jar'D In Salad House That's Good For You

2:09:00 PM

Stress and high blood pressure are just some of the health problems that we are experiencing nowadays, specially me. Yes, I'm already into that line and my food in take is now controlled, unless it comes from our garden or jardin. I'm not a picky eater but because of the condition it's really time to get something healthy to prolong not only life but the enjoyment of sharing it to others.

Just yesterday, I was able to see a post from Sir Migs (my wife Angie of is the one who knows him) that he was looking for bloggers to cover and review this new food establishment along Congressional Avenue. Fortunately, I was included and invited. Another reason that I took the chance is that it's about food, a healthy food that is great for my diet. The name is Jar'd In Salad House.

"Jar'd In" according to one of its owners, Paul Gan, it can mean two things - jarred in or the spanish term for garden which is jardin. All in all the concept is to bring fresh salad that is in a jar. So whether jarred in or jardin the sole purpose is to bring fresh salad to everyone.

Jar'd In Salad House just recently opened its door and are welcoming guests who would love to enjoy their salads taken at home or simply enjoy it freshly served inside the store. Their store can accommodate around 20 to 25 persons and it is located at MC2 Bldg. along Congressional Avenue, Quezon City and to be precise it's beside BPI Congressional Branch.

So, what's really interesting of this salad house? Well, what else but it's different kinds of salad to choose from. Honestly some of these salads are new to me and I haven't tried it at all. So let me share about the salads.

The Cowboy Crispy Chicken Ceasar Salad
Composed of Romaine Lettuce topped with different ingredients like the Cherry Ttomato in halves, hard Boiled Egg and a piece of Chicken Finger, plus bits of Corn and flavored with its Bacon Ceasar Dressing. It is also garnished with Croutons, Parmesan, and Bacon bits. Lettuce are really fresh with no bitter taste. Sliced in a portion that is just right for your mouth. The amount of chicken and the egg are just right not to over power the lettuces. And of course the dressing may go more or less which depends on your taste.

Cancun BBQ BurritoBowl (Mexican)
Its based vegetable is fresh Romaine Lettuce with different enticing and colorful ingredients like the Black Beans, Cherry Tomatoes in halves, sliced Red Onions, Corn, Red Rice, Roasted Chicken Breast tossed in BBQ sauce, Crumbled Nacho Chips, some Cilantro and of course with different choices of dressings like Pesto Yogurt, Bacob Ceasar dressing, or Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette. Appetizing and appealing to eye, one serving is just right to fill your hungry tummy.

Green leafy fresh Romaine Lettuce mixed with Arugula, Roasted Chicken or Tuna that's which ever you like. There are also Brown Sugar Walnuts,  Bell peppers (not really sure of this one) , Red Onion, Cherry Tomato, Grapes or Watermelon, which makes it colorful and inviting to eat. Plus it is garnished with feta cheese and flavored with Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette.  Now wouldn't you enjoy this fresh and juicy vegetables.

Vietnamese Banhmi Pomelo Salad
Another new salad variant that I haven't tried before but thankfully I was able to munch, taste and capture the flavor. This kind of salad doesn't only have Green Ice Lettuce but it also comes with red and green cabbage which I didn't felt that it was a cabbage. To add more color into it, it includes Cucumber, Carrots, Radish/Turnip and Pomelo. It is also garnished with crushed peanuts and crispy noodles. Drizzled with Hoisin Sauce.

Amazonian Grain PowerBowl (Peruvian/Brazilian)
This one is I don't have much experience with this but based on what I have seen and based on the line up salads I have tried well I'm sure it's another flavor to enjoy if you have a very adventurous taste buds. It's base vegetable is Lettuce with Black Beans, Cherry Tomato, Roasted Red Almonds, crumbled Feta Cheese with Basil Pesto Yogurt. Will try to have a full serving of this soon.

So, how will I rate Jar'd in Salad House offerings and concept? Well, first I like the concept of putting salad in a jar, it makes it easier to carry around when you have it for take out. The salad's ingredients are all fresh, nice and crisp, plus it's enticing and appealing just looking at those mix of colored veggies. With regards to its price range Php200 to Php300 per serving is competitive enough knowing that all are fresh. Over all, it's all thumbs up. I just hope they can have branches that is very near to our house so I can have that fresh salads from time to time.

Jar'd In Salad House is owned by three individuals who are into different business industries - Ed Paras who is the owner of the countries leading alter stations, Paras Alter Station and some other businesses; Paul Gan and Edmil Chan who are into franchising business. The three venture together after a meeting in a franchising convention.

Jar'd In Salad House is still in its early stage so they are placing bits of things to include in the business like the online food grabs, delivery options, other menus to offer and of course some of its branding collaterals like the differently mixed drinks they offer I love very much their Chili-Lemonade, the other two are Orange-Carrot-Ginger and Mango-Ampalaya.

To know more of what are coming to their stores and what they'll be offering you can check out their FB Page or their Instagram
