I was invited to witness the opening of the store and try this newest craze in town, the sponge cake. The store that is going to open in this side of the metro is the traditional homemade egg sponge cake brand, Ah Mah, which begun in Malaysia. Later on it reached Singapore and became the biggest brand fueling the cake craze in the country. From there it expanded to China, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, and now here in the Philippines.

So what does "Ah Mah" means? Well, it is a term for grandmother in different Chinese dialects.

Just like the love of our grandmothers, "Ah Mah" brings the freshness of cakes made from high quality flour, milk, corn oil, fresh eggs, and sugar. Take note that there's no water included in the ingredients and in the process. This is to be bring the authentic egg sponge cake for their customers. This extremely soft, bouncy and moist cake is baked without preservatives and on the spot, which means fresh and all natural.
