Southern Cities with a Strong Beach Culture

7:04:00 AM

Beaches have such an amazing effect on people, leaving us excited to play in the sun and surf or lay down and soak in the rays on the warm white sand. Although the West coast has its popular beach towns: what about the south?

These are three southern cities with iconic beach culture, and why so many people are excited to vacation there!

 Why Have a Beach Vacation?

Beach vacations are the best chance to get away and leave your stress at home. Not only do you get to explore the sandy shores, but you also get to spend time outside taking in the fresh air with loved ones.

Taking a beach vacation can boost your serotonin and mood, will allow you to get rid of some of the stress that comes from daily life, and can inspire you to be more creative during your time at work.

Beach vacations may feel like a cliche at this point: but they’re worth the travel!

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is one of the most stunning beach towns in the country and possibly the best-known southern one! From the countless beaches that surround this city to the fun surfer-town vibes this low-wave area has, you'll fall in love with Myrtle Beach instantly. There are countless resorts, fun entertainment, attraction options, and endless delicious restaurants to stop in while you're here: it's worth a visit!

Tampa, Florida

Although most people think about Orlando when they consider traveling to Florida for a vacation, it's time to get your mind on Tampa! Tampa is an amazing city that offers a little bit of everything for anyone who wants it, from gorgeous beaches to incredible nightlife and more. Tampa apartments for rent are affordable, so you could even make this into an extended month-long vacation!

Galveston, Texas

One of the most beach-city cities of all time is Galveston! This beachy city offers the chance to cut loose and enjoy sunlight, southern comfort foods, and the gorgeous weather that the gulf coast offers.
Galveston is an island that’s entirely dedicated to beachy vacations, so it’s worth visiting if you get a chance!

What to Pack for a Southern Beach

When packing for a vacation on a southern beach: sunscreen is king. Get the strongest that you need for your skin, and invest in a good beach hat and sunglasses. Although drinking in the sunlight can feel nice, it's bad for your skin if you're exposed to it for too long. A great beach hat and sunglasses will stop any fine lines forming on your face and will protect your eyes from damage as well!

Flip-flops are still king in the south, so make sure to bring some sandals that make you excited to think about running up and down the southern coastlines!

There’s Nothing Like a Beach Vacation!
Whether you're traveling from a landlocked state or a different beach area: there's no beach party like a southern beach party. Consider visiting some of these southern cities and having the vacation of your life!

5 Reasons to Experience and Enjoy Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort's Brunchin at the Beach

8:17:00 AM

If you're an owner of a seaside property, Saturday brunchin at the beach is your casual weekend thing but for someone who grew up in a city, this is something that we would look up to. A different experience where sea air breeze unto your skin while having your preferred cuisine in the morning.

Yes, the possibility of experiencing brunch at the beach and probably a good weekend getaway as well. Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort located in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas revolutionize your usual morning food experience. A few hours of travel from Manila isn't bad because the destination is a good place to have to your weekend and your brunch as they have launched their "Brunchin at the Beach" through their restaurant called the Mingle. They offer a brunch buffet for only Php699 per person that opens from 6:00AM to 12:30PM. The buffet comes with a variety of cuisines to choose from. Brunchin at the Beach is not only for resort guests but also for walk-ins who would just want to enjoy a good brunch in a morning and most probably on a weekend.

In my opinion, for someone who works 8 hours a day and 6 days a week, excluding overtime, will enjoy something like this. As I have enjoyed myself together with the other invite bloggers during our visit. So to give more about the experience I'm sharing my top 5 reasons why you should try.

1. Like I mentioned earlier, this is (as far as I know and as of the time I am writing this blog post) the first time a resort offers a brunch buffet not only for their guests but also for walk-ins who want to enjoy having their brunch at the beach.

2. Saltitude's Brunchin at the Beach will offer different cuisines each week, this is to give guests a different experience every time they visit. When we, together with some invited bloggers, visited the opening they offered an Intercontinental theme, which is a wide variety of food selections like American, Japanese, Chinese, Italian and of course the Pinoy dishes.

Japanese Maki Rolls

3. Interesting flavors. As to my experience, well, since its an Intercontinental theme, I made sure to try the ones that I like most but also took some pinch of a taste of almost everything. I'm a pasta guy so I dig-in first with the pasta dishes, the Lasagna and Aglio olio, it is great that I have to come back for another round of serving. For the Lasagna, it is perfectly baked that the sauce and the pasta fused the flavor. The Aglio Olio deserves praise for the firm texture of the pasta with the flavoring and ingredients.

But of course they have more than the pasta, and I did taste other dishes. So what are the cuisines laid on the buffet table? Well, they have All American, Mixed Asian, Mediterranean, and of course all-time favorite the Pinoy cuisine.

4. The selection of food in every cuisine. Another interesting thing to know with Saltitude's Brunchin at the Beach is that they didn't over-packed with dishes they just laid a selection, perhaps 4 to 6 dishes per category. Like, for example, the Mixed Asian, they just put in some Japanese Maki rolls, Pancit, and siomai. And that's it. Not too many that you'll end up undecided on what to eat.

Hotdogs, Eggs, Bacons and Pancakes

5. A rare experience to have your brunch at Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort. We all know that the area of Anilao isn't a sandy beach area but more on pebbles that sometimes they other resort owners put more emphasis on the activities rather the beauty and value. For Saltitude, Brunchin at the Beach is created for guests to fall in love with nature and value the beauty of the surroundings. It may be pebbles but with few tweaks and a little bit of personal touch, Saltitude makes the experience more valuable.

In totality, the food experience was great, sumptuous, tummy-filling and satisfying. If you really enjoy food and you're a total foodie then you might don't want to miss visiting this part of Batangas, more particularly the Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort.

Aside from the mouthwatering food they serve they also have different amenities that you'll definitely enjoy. Their rooms are intriguingly cute with its personalized names with personally handpicked decors and designs, the cottages, the benches and the hammock where you can spend the day admiring the beauty of Balayan Bay. There are also activities that you can do like swim, dive, kayak, sail, surf, and snorkel.

I would really like to come back and see the view at sunset or even at night time. I believe they also have their Barbeque Nights during summer.

So, if you're planning to have your weekend getaway, you can check out Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort located at Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. Waze or google map will do to get their or just simply take the exciting commute trip Jam or Alps Bus going to Batangas Grand Terminal, then a jeepney ride going to Anilao Port and lastly a tricycle ride from Anilao Port to Saltitude. Take note that the tricycle ride only cost Php35.00 per person. So enjoy!

Enjoy Saturday Brunch Buffet at Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort

2:21:00 AM
If you're tired of your usual weekend breakfast or you want something different and want it somewhere interesting and scenic, well, there's a place somewhere in Batangas that you'll for sure love, Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort. The resort just launched its "Brunchin @ the beach" last August 17, 2019. It is a dining experience that is expected to happen every Saturday and it is themed per cuisine each time. So, there would be some Saturdays that would be Spanish, other Saturdays it will be Asian, yet another time would be Mexican or All American, etc. For its launch it was an intercontinental spread from Pinoy, to samplings of Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and American cuisines.

Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort is situated in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. It offers not only unique dining experiences but also everything that one can do in the beach. For the more adventurous soul, Scuba diving is on top of the list of things to do around here. However, those who are seeking plain beach bummin' pleasure may just swim, snorkel or chill around the huge ground gazing at the sea ordering a cocktail or reading a book. There is simply so much to do around at Saltitude.

The quirkily-decorated themed rooms can't be ignored either, as the rooms are named after an activity that you can do in the beach and each one is decorated according to its name. Cool concept isn't it!

Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort also offers Saturday night beach BBQ during Summertime. The success of the summer beach BBQ pave the way for the Saturday bruchin' @ the beach.

Eat. Drink. Swim. Dive. Snorkle. Windsurf. Do all of that at Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort.

Call, email, text or DM Saltitude when you are planning to stay in Anilao.

Boracay, Pangarap Ka Na Lang Ba?

9:30:00 PM

As what the phrase of a song says "pangarap ka na lang ba o magiging katotohanan pa?", will it be just a dream or will it come true. That is what I'm expressing with the situation of Boracay. I have never been to Boracay and it is one of the places that I am longing to visit. It is one of the top places to visit on my list.

When I was a teenager it is one of my dream places to visit. I remember seeing it in one of the postcards that I always submit when my Philippine History teacher would require us to submit pictures of the places or tourist spots in the Philippines. So from there on I admired the island. Also knowing that most foreigners spend their vacations into this place, beautiful place, white sand, great beaches and enticing water.

With the recent news about Boracay, establishments that are not compliant, paradise island turning into a not so paradise at all, and the closure of the island makes me worry if I will still be able to visit the place. Not the pristine island that I used to known but at least and still the island with the white sand beaches.

Perhaps my answers will be addressed once the six-month long closure of the island is over. So let's just hope that they have cleaned the place and made every establishment compliant with the laws, particularly environment laws, to preserve the place.

Boracay, pangarap ka na lang ba? Who knows?
