Way Back Home on Big Screen

After the hit remake of “Mara Clara”, Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are once again reunited on the big screen. Paving way for the clamor of their fans and constant televiewers of Mara Clara, the two young stars are on to a more challenging role in this new movie from Star Cinema. The “Way Back Home” is a heartwarming story about family relationships, enduring love and forgiveness. Stars in this powerhouse cast movie are Tonton Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, Enrique Gil, Sam Concepcion and Agot Isidro. This is directed by nonetheless Jerry Lopez Sineneng of the teleserye hit “Imortal” and 1999’s “Soltera”.

“Way Back Home” is a poignant story of two sisters, Jessica and Joanna, whose path get separated and after many years were once again reconnected.

The lost of the other one had lead the family to spend an emotional abyss and unable to cope up with the loss. After many years Joanna was once again reunited with the family and situation makes it hard for Jessica. Leading to an emotional turns.

Words from the two young stars, Ms. Agot Isidro and from Direk Jerry Sineneng.

Kathryn and Julia feel very blessed to be given a very important film. Kathryn says, “Sobrang thankful po kami at Masaya dahil binigyan kami ng chance na maipakita naman ‘yong iba naming side.” (We were so happy and thankful because we were given a chance to show more of our other side)

Julia, who describes this break as an “extremely big opportunity,” is still amazed even as they have wrapped up shooting and are already promoting the movie. “Hindi kami makapaniwala. Nagpapasalamat kami and may halong pressure talaga.”(We were amazed.  We're so thankful though there's pressure)  She declares that she and Kathryn are challenged to please the discriminating movie audiences. “Sa TV, buksan mo lang ang TV mapapanood ka na. Sa pelikula, talagang mag-e-effort sila na maglabas ng sariling pera,”(On TV shows, viewers will just open it and they can already watch you unlike on the big screen they will surely shell out their own money to watch.)  reasons Julia. “Kaya kailangan worth it ‘yong mapanood nilang pelikula,”(That's why the movie should be worth it.) Kathryn points out.

The young actresses need not worry because Direk Jerry is more than satisfied with their performances. “Kahit anong ibato mo, a-absorb nila nang a-absorb (You can throw anything and they will just absorb it). They are very eager and passionate about the project,” he says of his two leads. Agot, who returns to making films for Star Cinema after long time, says that one of the reasons she immediately accepted the offer was because of the material and because of Julia and Kathryn. The acclaimed recording artist and star says, “Alam kong maganda ang project at brilliant ang dalawang young actresses”(I know the project is good and the two young actresses are brilliant).

Catch how the story will end on cinemas on August 17, 2011.
