27 November 2012; Manila, Philippines: The Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology has announced that the country has recently won the bid to hold the 3rd Biennial Scientific Meeting, one of the most prestigious medical events in Asia. Slated on November 27 to 29, 2012 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel Manila, the country is expected to welcome over 400 key delegates from the United States, Germany, Italy, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, China, Singapore, India and Thailand. Among the topics to be discussed are the globalization of eye banking, eye infection and the use of contact lenses, LASIK for vision correction, new treatment for dry eye disease and stem cell therapy for ocular surface reconstruction.
