See, Smell and Savor International Flavors At The Mall Of Asia

Just recently, Kwento Ni Toto experienced another gastronomic event held in a mall far south of Metro Manila area, where else but none other than the SM Mall of Asia. Mall goers and foodies will definitely have an exciting trip around the world through their taste buds. Yes, Mall of Asia holds its International Food Festival which starts from September 5 to 30, 2014. It's a see, smell and savor event tour, as Kwento Ni Toto got a taste of the special treat of three of the many restaurants that joined the food festival as a teaser. SM Mall of Asia festivity or the "MOA Eats Food Fest" includes an exciting lineup of activities that will sure to whet the appetite for great food discoveries, awesome prizes, and special treats!


Like what we've mentioned there are over 50 participating restaurants will showcase dishes prepared exclusively for this month-long celebration of world-class cuisine. Photos of the "Special Eats" will be exhibited at the Main Mall Atrium, Main Mall Entrance. What's more is that MOA Eats diners will get to taste the gustatory delights for themselves at the participating restaurants! These dishes are truly special and unique, as they will only be available for the duration of the food fest, and only at their dining outlets located a the Mall of Asia.

So what are the three restaurants that Kwento Ni Toto went to ad got the delightful taste of their Special Eats?

Well, our first one is the family-oriented restaurant named ARISTOCRAT which got plenty of tasteful dishes to return to but what's intriguing is their Special Eats for the food fest. It's a fusion of two Filipino favorites, the Crispy Pata and the Kare Kare. The Crispy Pata Kare Kare is heaven for those who love meat. The crispiness of the Pata is still there while enjoying the exquisite taste of Kare Kare. It's a delightful and tummy filling experience. Not only their Crispy Pata Kare Kare was served but a whole bunch of dishes. I can say that it is truly a restaurant for the family to enjoy not only the bonding but of course the tasty treat they can offer.

The Torta Delos Reyes, another must try.

According to the owner, the Crispy Pata Kare Kare is their dish for the Special Eats Promo and is only available at their restaurant in SM MOA for only Php799 which is great for 4 to 5 persons.

The second restaurant in the tour is the NEW ORLEANS which offers their Blackened Chicken Roulade and Bourbon Tower Ribs. It's Kwento Ni Toto's first time to try at New Orleans and so far we've loved their dishes. The Blackened Chicken Roulade is not the ordinary blackened chicken but the chicken is presented in a cordon blue style of preparation that comes with Andouille Sausage,  Jambalaya Rice, Crispy Onions and Pickld Okra, this dish is around Php345. While the Bourbon Tower Ribs is a Pork BBQ Spareribs with Bourbon Chili Sauce and comes with Dirty Rice, Corn on a Cob and Potato Salad. The Bourbon Tower Ribs costs around Php799.

They've also served the Sauteed Shrimps with Spinach Fettuccini and Pimiento Cream Sauce which we love very much. The spinach fettuccini was great and we're sure that this will be love by health conscious foodie. It's quite different from the ordinary but of course there are dishes that you should try.

The last on this gastronomic experience was the Krispy Kreme. Just in time for dessert! But of course before having that treat we were toured first at their production room. This gives us the know -how everything is prepared. Plus there's a bit of information that we've learned from them, only 3 branches got their own production room and serves a freshly baked doughnuts namely Krispy Kreme MOA, Krispy Kreme Greenhills and Krispy Kreme BGC.

Another activity of the food fest is for those who want to try preparing the Special Eats, they can try it at home but of course they need to participate first in the live cooking demonstrations to be conducted by the top chefs of four select restaurants. The cooking demos will be held at Tempura and Sbarro on September 5 and Claw Daddy, New Orleans and Vikings on September 12 at 5:30 onwards.
