It's the second time that Kwento Ni Toto participates in Robinsons Supermarket's Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run. This year is their 8th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run in which yours truly run 5K together with my better half Angie of www.mommysmaglife.com. It was truly a fit and fun run though I wasn't able to have a thorough run it was still good because I managed to boost my wife to finish the 5K run for the very first time. But of course it's more of a jog-walk-jog thing, still, she was able to finish it, no shortcuts and had every kilometer for 15 minutes.
The run just achieved its purpose of running with a buddy as it helps in boosting each other to run and finish it. Well it really helps very much and enjoying running with your best buds or your teammate for life. The 8th Robinsons Supermarket Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run made an overwhelming turnout as thousands of people, running enthusiasts, celebrities and including the CEOs ran in pairs at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig which proves a consistent increase in number of health-conscious individuals actively seeking healthier lifestyle.
There are really a number of participants this year and our starts was more of a walk because of the scarcity of space to run. Truly Robinsons Supermarket is keeping to its commitment of health and wellness. According to them participants of this year's run is around 4,500 both on 5KM and 10KM run and there were athletes like triathlete Nikko Huelgas, Volcanoes captain Jake Letts, who participated in the run as well. James Reid and Jessy Mendiola were also present in this event as they promote a healthier lifestyle with Century Tuna.
According to Supermarket General Manager Jody Gadia, “While eating healthy is at the core of a healthy life, we cannot discount the immutable contribution of exercise. And running is always better when done with a partner hence, the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy run.”
Of course in every competition there's always the winner and the winner bags the prizes. So for this particular run top pair finishers received prizes from Robinsons Supermarket officials. 5K winners won a trip for 2 to Coron, Palawan while 10k winners bagged a trip for 2 to Yangon, Myanmar. 2nd to 5th place finishers received Robinsons Gift Certificates as consolation prizes. Aside from the major prizes there were also Special awards from event sponsors that were given away. Outstanding pairs were awarded the following: Close-up Couple award, Rexona Do More Buddies, Breeze Sige Mom-child Tandem, Nestle Best Shape-up Buddies, Milo Energy & Milo R2 Twin Buddies, and the Johnson & Johnson Active Fresh Award. All in all whether you win or not what's important is achieving the purpose and that is a healthy lifestyle.
