SM Supermalls Celebrates Filipino Art with ‘Art for Everyone’ Exhibit

7/05/2025 08:15:00 AM

SM Supermalls is once again championing Filipino creativity with the nationwide launch of Art for Everyone, a month-long celebration of art, culture, and community taking place in 18 malls this July.

Following the success of the 2024 Art Market—which earned a Gold Stevie® Award for Innovation in the Use of Events—SM Supermalls continues its commitment to supporting the local art scene. Last year’s event featured over 1,200 Filipino artists and more than 4,000 artworks, offering both established and up-and-coming artists a platform to showcase their talent and reach wider audiences.

The overwhelming success of the event sparked renewed enthusiasm within the community, with many of last year’s participating artists eager to return, a testament to the event’s impact and SM’s growing role as a catalyst for Filipino creative expression.

Now, Art for Everyone expands that vision. This year’s initiative transforms participating malls into vibrant art destinations, where both well-known and budding local artists can exhibit to sell their works, engage with new audiences, and contribute to a flourishing creative community.

The Manila Hotel Showcases Manuel Baldemor’s Vibrant ‘Flowers of May’ Exhibit

5/14/2025 04:53:00 AM

The Art Gallery of The Manila Hotel is featuring Flowers of May, a new exhibit by renowned Filipino artist Manuel Baldemor. The show celebrates the Flores de Mayo festival, a long-standing tradition that honors beauty, faith, and the spirit of renewal.

Shifting from the reflective tone of his recent Kuwaresma series, Baldemor takes on a more vibrant and joyful approach in this latest collection. Flowers of May highlights the colorful blooms of the season, using his signature style to showcase the richness of Philippine flora both as visual subject and symbolic theme.

“One can achieve tranquility by recognizing themselves as part of nature and finding their core or soul. Flowers are a perfect example as they represent peace and love. They have their own language of diplomacy that speaks straight to our hearts,” shared Baldemor.

The exhibit invites guests to experience joy and serenity, reflecting the essence of Flores de Mayo. Through this collection, Baldemor offers a visual journey that connects viewers to both cultural heritage and the quiet beauty of the natural world.

Flores de Mayo is on display at the Art Gallery until May 31, 2025. Admission is free. For interested buyers, email r.lo@themanilahotel.com.

My Kwento of San Jose Del Monte'S Artworks About Tanglawan Festival

9/12/2019 07:11:00 PM

My kwento or story of the Tanglawan Festival's Art pieces that showcase the beauty of the City of San Jose Del Monte and Mayor Arthur Robes and Congresswoman Florida Robes. Read more and learn about it.

Today's main attraction of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan is it's Tanglawan Festival that is becoming one of the anticipated events in the city every year after winning over from Singapore the World Guinness Record for the biggest Lantern Parade. To elevate more of the festival, the city government tapped different art organizations to come up with a visual representation and interpretation of SJDM's Tanglawan Festival. And the result was inspiring. Of course, all are through the leadership of Mayor Arthur Robes and the love of Congresswoman Florida Robes for the people of San Josenos.

Last September 10, the actual date of SJDM's cityhood, is the culmination of the 10-day celebration. As part of its activities, the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Tanglawan Festival 2019 Art Gallery Exhibit started. The said artworks were mounted at the Basement 2, the Government Service Express area inside SM City San Jose Del Monte. The opening ceremony was graced by Mayor Arthur Robes and Congresswoman Florida Robes. The couple gave their appreciation of the artworks and praises to different artists who participated. Mayor Robes, who loves art, disclosed during the event that they are pushing for the construction of the Culture and Art Building that will cultivate the different talented children of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

The strive to change the city's image has become more visual and firm. The works of the power couple, Mayor Arthur and Congresswoman Florida is becoming the strong foundation of their aim of changing the people's view about, from relocation to destination.

Watch out for the next projects that will bring the City fo San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan to the World-class scene, a highly urbanized city with a world-class destination.
