Bridging the Gap Between Play and Pay: Exploring the Fun of Financial Management Games

10:58:00 AM

Gaming and finances, a match made in heaven, is it?

If you're from the 80s or 90s, I'm sure you have witnessed the transition of 2D games to what we now have, the 3D, the 4D, and virtual. But, if you're one of that old soul with a thing for 2D games, well, great for you because we will be talking about 2D games.

The only catch in today's topic is that our 2D games are more into financing. Yes, we will be playing and learning as well, per se.

Since we're maturing, or shall I say, matured already, adulting is something we should do. That is probably what most of us didn't care much when we were younger.

Okay, so let's start with getting to know more of the site. What it is all about, and what does it offer, aside from knowing that it is a financing game. So let's test our skills, challenge ourselves, and have fun.

If you have been reading my blog, there are entries about financial matters. So, something like this is quite a usual for us. The website is Mortgagecalculator.org, with the mortgage is all about the finances and expenses. With the term calculator added, it simply tells that it's about computing your expenditures and finances. But we will not dive into that much. What were going to check is the game section of the website.

It has a long list of game categories, and all are playable. The games in the website are practically about financial management. The concept was intriguing, mixing the game part and managing your finances.

So the gamer in me kicked in and tried it. Here are a few of my personal favorites:

  • Stocks or Investing Game: This game is a simulation of the stock market, allowing players to buy and sell stocks and see how their investments perform over time. It's a simple game that shows the rise and fall of every businesses. When to buy the stocks, and the time to sell them for a higher value.
  • Running a Business Games: This games teaches players how to do business, and there are plenty in the website like Pizza Shop, Chocolate Shop, Cooking Street, and many more, these games mainly teaches the basic, but it will sure help handling multifunction.
  • Crypto Currency Game: This one is intriguing, since cryptocurrency is the thing now a days, I believe this game is a bit of an eyeopener about the cryptocurrency.

These are just a few of the games that I tested out, and I have to say, I was impressed with how it looks. They are entertaining, and teaches a thing or two about finances, business, and financial management.

Oh, before I forgot, one of the annoying thing about online games is the ads running while you're in the zone, but for the games in Mortgagecalculator.org, it is fortunate that playing just goes well without distractions.

So, the next time I get bored and needed some inspiration well, I'll be visiting this site and had a few games.
