Bilyonaryo News Channel Revives the Art of Business Reporting on TV

Bilyonaryo News Channel, a new player in the broadcast television scene, is expanding its reach by bringing its popular business news reporting to a larger audience. With signature programs designed to cover every aspect of the business world in the country, the channel is set to become a go-to source for business news.

The channel is rolling out a series of programs tailored for its Bilyonaryo followers, offering a strong mix of business and corporate shows. Airing from Monday to Friday, these programs will highlight news and important stories that impact businesses and the economy. Viewers can also expect in-depth analysis and discussions with industry leaders and experts, providing valuable insights on corporate and public policy.

Maiki Oreta, the veteran business broadcaster and the founder of the socially oriented organization dedicated to empowering Filipino youth in business and entrepreneurship, Kiddo-preneur,hosts BASIS POINTS, 9:30AM to 10:00AM, and INDUSTRY BEACON, 11:30AM to 12:00PM. Oreta lends her proficiency in business journalism and entrepreneurship to keep investors in the loop on the market’s movement and the events affecting it. The Basis Points provides a timely update on the equities market’s performance and the latest news on business and the economy. While the more candid 30-minute business talk show, Industry Beacon provides industry experts a platform to talk to various business chambers and leaders for insightful discussions.

Returning to Philippine television is Raine Musñgi, a distinguished business news journalist and presenter, who will anchor and produce FOLLOW THE MONEY from 10:30AM to 11:00AM. This half-hour program offers a masterclass in personal finance, equipping viewers with essential strategies for saving, earning, and growing wealth through diverse investment avenues. Follow the Money will also feature the top wealth and fund managers, providing invaluable insights and guidance on navigating investments with confidence and success.

Seasoned news and public affairs anchor, Mai Rodriguez headlines PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS, Mondays to Fridays from 11:00AM to 11:30AM. The show sheds a spotlight on various industries to offer a fresh perspective on the big players that shape the way businesses operate as well as the MSMEs and social enterprises that are changing the game.

The channel will also air previous episodes of news and broadcast icon Ces Drilon’s USAPANG BILYONARYO as it prepares for a new season of the innovative program.

To ensure maximum exposure of the key programs that are most relevant to the Bilyonaryo News Channel's core audience, the business block programs are replayed from 4:00PM to 6:00PM and 8:00PM to 9:00PM on the same day of broadcast.

ANC’s Cathy Yang is Hailed as Asia's Best TV News Presenter

Another day to celebrate as ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) anchor Cathy Yang brought honor to the Philippines anew at the start of the new decade after being named as Best News Presenter at the 24th Asian Television Awards held recently here in Manila.

Cited for her work in the ANC business news program “Market Edge with Cathy Yang,” Cathy said the award ‘takes her full circle’ as a journalist, during an interview with ABS-CBN News after her win.

“From being a Kapamilya where I learned all the ropes and then I went abroad from Manila to Tokyo to Hong Kong and back, here I am again. Thank you, ANC and thank you, Kapamilya for all the support,” she said.

In her acceptance speech, Cathy talked about the great honor of telling the remarkable story of Asia’s growing economies from her homeland.

“As a financial journalist I am so proud to be the storyteller of that narrative and to be doing it with my Kapamilya at work and my family at home.”

The anchor of “The Boss” and “Business Nightly” on ANC is now a four-time winner in the Asian Television Awards, after bagging the honor thrice for another regional news network. This year, she bested fellow broadcasters from the Philippines, China, Japan, India, and Taiwan.

The award also comes on the heels of her recognition as Best News or Current Affairs Presenter at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore last December 2019.
