Observation: Is the Viral “Jollibee Paperbag Story” Real or Just a Marketing Stunt?

5/18/2025 07:40:00 PM

The story of a woman giving birth in harsh conditions at a public hospital, only to be neglected by both the medical staff and her husband—who later brings food only for himself from Jollibee, has captured the attention of thousands online. But as emotional and heartbreaking as it sounds, some elements of the story are raising eyebrows. Could this be a fabricated story designed to stir emotions, and maybe even promote something?

THE JOLIBEE PAPERBAG STORY

"Went through a traumatic experience giving birth at a public hospital. Alone for 16 hours of labor and in pain every 5 minutes. The nurses were nice, but the doctors were the opposite and would get mad at me for reacting to the pain I felt. Had IE checked 5 times and it was the worst pain ever, while laying on an uncleaned delivery bed, with bloodstains of other people. All this while another woman 5 steps away from me is screaming in horror giving birth, no curtains or anything to divide us."

"The doctor did a splinting to move my stool out, didn't wipe me or offer a napkin, but she just placed my old diaper back on. I gave birth where there were at least 10 students standing in front of me, one holding a phone which I noticed was taking a video without my consent. Afterwards, one nurse gave me a bad look and told me to go take a bath. 1 was forced to take a cold bath after literally just giving birth because they said there was no hot water available anymore. Feared I could die because it might not have been safe to take a cold bath. I felt I lost all my dignity

Told everything to my husband, and all he said was "Ok lang 'yan. Tapos naman na." He gave no eye contact, no comfort, just those plain words.

And the next day, he comes back to the hospital holding a paperbag of Jollibee. My eyes light up and say, "Hala Love, sarap nyan! And he says, "Sorry Lab, sakin lang 'toh. Gutom na kasi talaga ako. Alam mo naman na puyat din ako naghihintay sayo. May libre naman na hospital food dyan, yun nalang sayo."

Why It Feels Staged

Let’s break down the points that make this story sound a little too polished for a simple online rant:

1. The Story Is Told Like a Written Page in a Novel, Not a Rant
If someone is really traumatized and ranting, would they take the time to write with a clear structure, dramatic buildup, and even a catchy ending? The narrative is too well-crafted. It feels more like a piece of creative writing or a script than a raw personal outburst.

2. A Public Humiliation of the Husband
Most people argue or feel frustrated with their partners, but not everyone publicly shames them with such detailed accounts. The husband is portrayed as uncaring to an almost cartoonish level. No eye contact? Ate Jollibee in front of her? Ignored her pain completely? It seems designed to make him look as bad as possible, while her as sympathetic as possible.

3. Jollibee in the story
Why choose Jollibee paper bag and not the other brands.

Could It Be a Soft Launch for Something?

Some are speculating this could be a setup for a campaign—possibly related to mental health, women empowerment, introduction of a new book or even... of a certain brand. Brands have previously used viral “real stories” to later launch ads or awareness campaigns. With the Jollibee paper bag featured at the emotional climax of the story, it’s hard not to see the product placement potential.

Balanced Reactions

Positive Reactions:
  • Many netizens feel seen and validated by the story. They relate to the poor treatment in public hospitals and the emotional neglect from partners during vulnerable times.
  • The story serves as a wake-up call for men to be more emotionally supportive.

Negative Reactions:
  • Some people believe the story is too dramatic to be true, with too many “perfect” emotional beats.
  • Others feel uncomfortable with how the husband was publicly shamed, without hearing his side.
  • A few suspect this is an emotional setup for a future campaign or product placement.

What can we say?

Whether it’s real or a clever piece of fiction, the story clearly resonated with many. And perhaps subliminally injected a notion to let husbands think of their partners when buying Jollibee. But it’s also important to pause and ask: Are we reacting to someone's real trauma or falling for a well-written post designed to go viral?

If this turns out to be part of a campaign, it wouldn’t be the first time emotion was used to market something. In the meantime, let’s keep our empathy but also our critical thinking intact.

"Life-Altering Moment: SM Scholars Reflect on Their Journey's Start"

4/28/2024 02:33:00 PM

Atty. Marmie Deniega and Amanda Hora’s journey through the SM scholarship program is one of those tales that stick with you. It's not just about getting an education; it's about how that opportunity changed their lives forever.

For Amanda, becoming an SM scholar was more than just a chance to attend college—it was a groundbreaking moment for her family. As the first member to pursue a degree, she was breaking new ground, carving out a path that would shape the future for generations to come.

The first to obtain a degree in the family

A family legacy, SM scholar Amanda Hora becomes the first in her family to earn a degree.

Amanda’s story started with a simple Facebook post. She stumbled upon information about the SM scholarship application and decided to give it a shot. Little did she know, that single decision would alter the course of her life in ways she couldn't have imagined.

“It has always been my dream to pursue a quality education without the burden of tuition expenses. I enrolled in a university in Senior High School because of a scholarship, and I know that the only way to continue my college years at the same university is to obtain another full scholarship. That is why I never hesitated to apply for the SM scholarship, hoping to be accepted,” she said.

In the quiet hours of the night several years back, an email from the SM Foundation lit up her phone’s screen, informing her that she had been selected for their scholarship program.

The acceptance was a mark that she was a few steps away from fulfilling another goal: “I pursued college because I wanted to become the first in our family to get a college degree.”

“My parents did not finish their studies due to financial difficulties, but they’ve always been supportive of my dreams and aspirations. Also, I believe in the importance of quality education. It is something that nobody can take away,” she added.

Amanda snaps a photo with her family as she graduated cum laude with a degree in BS accountancy in 2023.

The scholarship opened doors throughout her college years. Beyond the academic realm, she had the opportunities to join competitions, intern at prestigious firms, and build a network that extended far beyond the classroom.

She shared: “As a scholar, the foundation’s programs and webinars allowed me to hear inspiring stories from other scholars, mentoring and motivating us to pursue our goals. When COVID-19 affected the country and whenever there were calamities, the SM Foundation looked after us. They provided us with tools that are essential for remote learning. It made me feel that I am part of a bigger family and that I am not alone in this journey.”

These experiences paved academic and personal growth. As she graduated cum laude with a degree in BS accountancy in 2023, she aims to contribute to the community by creating a ripple effect of kindness.

“I would use my knowledge to find ways to provide livelihood programs, especially in areas or communities where it is much needed. I would also advocate for financial literacy to help people effectively manage their finances and build resilience, especially during unpredictable life events. I would also use my story to inspire the youth, especially the current and future scholars, and remind them to never give up on their dreams,” she shared.

Scholar makes an impact on the community

Atty. Marmie Deniega (fifth from left) with her colleagues from IBP-Cebu Chapter.

Much like Amanda is CPA-lawyer Marmie Dyan Deniega.

Raised by a single mother amid financial struggles, the pursuit of a college degree seemed like an unattainable dream until she chanced upon a TV commercial that introduced her to the SM College Scholarship.

Recalling vividly the moment, she shares: “My mother and I were watching the television. The commercial for SM Foundation came in, and the application deadline was flashed through the screen. Coincidentally, it was on that day itself, so I rushed and submitted my application at the nearest SM Mall."

The scholarship became the cornerstone of Marmie's academic success. She graduated with cum laude honors in Accountancy from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, crediting the scholarship for providing not only financial support but also the freedom to focus on her studies.

The scholarship not only shaped her academic journey but also fueled a sense of responsibility, which proved valuable when she pursued a law degree with the help of her aunt and part-time jobs.

Now successful in her field, Atty. Marmie travels and enjoys various leisure activities. Beyond this, she is thankful to have the capability to support her family.

Now, she proudly serves as an Attorney III at the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of Mandaue City, actively contributing to her community's development. She is one of the people who played a pivotal role in streamlining business permit processing in their city, making it more accessible to constituents.

As a firm believer in spreading social good, she finances the education of her siblings while actively engaging in community-based projects. She also stands as a resource speaker in schools for several crucial topics, such as the Anti-Bullying Law.

Apart from legal aid work in far-flung areas in Cebu, through the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter, she also volunteers with Law Inc., an organization helping victims of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). She conducts seminars across various locations in Cebu, shedding light on the intricacies of VAWC.

In the confines of her office, clients naturally turn to her for legal advice, seeking guidance on various matters: “It cannot be helped that clients will also seek legal advice from me, hence I also make it a point to help them, to the best of my ability, and within the boundaries set by law."

Amanda and Marmie's stories are not just individual triumphs but testaments to the impact of education. Each year, countless dreamers like them are empowered to pursue their academic aspirations and chart their paths to success through the SM College Scholarship Program.

As the application for the SM College Scholarship Program opens from Feb. 1 to March 31, 2024, countless more lives stand to be touched.

Diwata Pares Overload, a humble street food stall tucked away along J.W Diokno Blvd., has been causing quite a stir in Manila's culinary scene. Helmed by Deo Balbuena, better known as Diwata, this unassuming eatery has garnered attention not only for its delicious offerings but also for its ability to attract influencers and vloggers alike.

The heart of Diwata Pares Overload's success lies in its signature dish: pares, a Filipino braised beef stew. Priced at just Php 100, customers are treated to a hearty serving of pares accompanied by unlimited rice, soup, and a bottle of beverage. It's a budget-friendly option that has struck a chord with locals and visitors alike.

However, it's not just the affordability of Diwata's offerings that has drawn attention. The stall's strategic online presence, curated by Diwata herself, has played a significant role in its popularity. With content creators flocking to feature Diwata Pares Overload on their platforms, the stall has become a hot spot for those seeking to explore Manila's street food scene.

Yet, with fame comes scrutiny. Recently, a video surfaced on social media showing a dissatisfied customer expressing her disappointment with the taste of the pares she had purchased. While the incident sparked debate online, with some criticizing the customer's behavior and others defending her right to voice her opinion, Diwata remained unfazed. In response, he emphasized that he welcomes the attention and views it as free marketing for his business.

Diwata Pares Overload's rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed by industry experts. Richard Thaddeus Carvajal, a prominent figure in the Philippine business community, attributes the stall's success to several factors. Using the VRIO framework, Carvajal highlighted the value, rarity, imitability, and organization of Diwata Pares Overload as key drivers of its competitive advantage.

Despite the attention from influencers and the media, Diwata remains committed to providing quality food to her customers. Located near GSIS along J.W Diokno Blvd., Diwata Pares Overload operates 24/7, ensuring that hungry patrons can satisfy their cravings at any time of day.

In a city known for its vibrant culinary culture, Diwata Pares Overload stands out as a testament to the power of delicious food, strategic marketing, and a touch of online stardom.

Unraveling the History of New Year's Eve

12/29/2023 10:51:00 PM

As the clock ticks towards midnight, people around the world eagerly anticipate the arrival of a new year. The celebration of New Year's Eve is a global tradition that transcends cultural boundaries and brings people together in a shared moment of reflection and anticipation. Have you ever wonder when and how New Year's Eve started? Well, let's uncover the origin, the time, and the evolution of this time-honored celebration.

Our story begins in ancient times, where the concept of marking the passage of time was intertwined with celestial events. The Babylonians, over 4,000 years ago, are credited with one of the earliest New Year celebrations. Their festivities were linked to the vernal equinox, a moment when day and night are of equal length. This event signaled the rebirth of nature and inspired the Babylonians to make resolutions for the coming year.

Fast forward to ancient Rome, where the calendar underwent numerous changes. The Romans initially celebrated the New Year in March, aligning it with the spring equinox. However, in 45 B.C., Julius Caesar introduced the Julian calendar, moving the start of the year to January 1st. This change was in homage to Janus, the two-faced god who symbolized transitions and new beginnings.

The adoption of January 1st as the New Year's Day was not universally accepted at first. Various cultures adhered to different calendars, resulting in diverse New Year celebrations occurring at various times. It wasn't until the Middle Ages that the Gregorian calendar, introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582, gained widespread acceptance. This calendar solidified January 1st as the official start of the year, aligning with the Roman tradition.

Throughout history, New Year's Eve has taken on different forms and meanings across cultures. In medieval Europe, the celebration evolved into a religious observance known as Watch Night. Christians would gather in churches to pray and reflect, marking the transition from the old year to the new with a sense of spiritual renewal.

The custom of making resolutions became more prevalent during the 17th century. Puritans in colonial America embraced the idea of setting goals for self-improvement and moral development. Over time, this practice became ingrained in the fabric of New Year's Eve, transcending religious boundaries and becoming a secular tradition embraced by people of all backgrounds.

Fireworks, a ubiquitous feature of modern New Year's Eve celebrations, have their roots in ancient Chinese civilization. The Chinese believed that loud noises and bright lights could ward off evil spirits. This tradition eventually spread to other cultures and found its way into the festive atmosphere of New Year's Eve.

The iconic ball drop in Times Square, New York City, has become synonymous with the American New Year's Eve experience. The tradition began in 1907 when the New York Times organized the first ball drop to mark the opening of their new headquarters in Times Square. The event was an instant success, drawing crowds and setting the stage for a century of annual celebrations.

As the 20th century unfolded, technology played a significant role in shaping New Year's Eve celebrations. The invention of radio and television allowed people around the world to witness and participate in the festivities in real-time. The advent of the internet further expanded the global reach of these celebrations, connecting people across continents in a shared moment of joy and anticipation.

ctto

Today, New Year's Eve is a truly global phenomenon, celebrated with diverse traditions and customs. From the ringing of church bells in Spain to the banging of pots and pans in South America, the world comes together in a collective expression of hope and optimism for the future.

From tradition to history to spirituality, the history of New Year's Eve is a tapestry woven with threads of ancient traditions, cultural shifts, and technological advancements. From the Babylonians to the present day, the celebration of the new year has evolved and adapted, reflecting the human desire for renewal and the hope that comes with the turning of the calendar. As the clock strikes midnight on January 1st, let us continue to embrace the timeless tradition of New Year's Eve, a celebration that transcends borders and unites us all in the shared journey of life.

Women Indirectly Described in the Husband Store Story

12/01/2023 11:28:00 PM

I really forgot when and where did I heard this story, but this story will surely give a good laugh, but in reality this will make us realize that all of us, not only the women, are not easy to satisfy or insatiable. We always long for something better (negatively) that most of the time leads to greed.

My take on this story is that God has a master plan for all of us and all we need is align with what and where God leads us, then everything will follow. In simplest term “contentment”, be contented on what we have and be thankful that is given to us.

So, since I don't know who the author of this story is, we give credits to whom it is due.

Here’s the story and it is entitled “The Husband Store!”

A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE!

There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is however, a catch …. You may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

On the first floor, the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 – These men have jobs and love the Lord.

The second floor sign reads:

Floor 2 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids.

The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking, “Wow,” she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:

Floor 4 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and help with the housework. “Oh, mercy me!” she exclaims, “I can hardly stand it!”

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5 – These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 – You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

At the end of the story there's a notice that says, "Please do send this to all men that you know for a good laugh and to all the women who can handle the truth!" It may be truth for the women but let's take it in general. We all like the subject of the story. Our longing for something better tends to make us obsess of what we want that which is the first sign of greediness.

We have to learn to be grateful for what we have. Most of the time when we are ungrateful we end up with nothing.

Coastal Land Reclamation in Contemporary City Planning

8/26/2023 09:42:00 AM

More and more cities are diverting efforts in coastal land reclamation. It is actually increasing and will probably continue to grow and be a popular urban strategy in places that experience urban growth.

This is according to a study, “Mapping 21st Century Global Coastal Land Reclamation,” that analyzed landsat satellite images from 2000 to 2020 to quantify spatial extent, scale, and land use of urban coastal reclamation of 135 cities globally with populations exceeding one million. Key findings indicate that 78% of these cities have turned to reclamation to create additional land, resulting in 253,000 hectares of new land, an area equivalent to Luxembourg.

Land reclamation is the process of creating new land from the sea. It’s often used in places with scarcity of land and high population density for many purposes. From Western Europe and West Africa to the Middle East, East Asia, and Southeast Asia, these countries’ cities reclaim lands for port extension, residential/commercial, and industrial purposes aimed at creating tourist and green spaces. Key drivers like global trade and rapid urbanization are already ubiquitous, so for the next step, these cities desire prestigious place-making efforts and enhanced international reputation.

“Coastal land reclamation is a forward-looking approach to urban development,” says Architect Ian Fulgar, the principal architect of Fulgar Architects. It allows cities to preserve valuable ecosystems and resources from urban sprawl by expanding spaces without encroaching on existing natural land. More importantly for architects, urban planners, and modern city dwellers, it presents an opportunity to have purpose-built urban environments specifically designed to meet their needs.

“Architects and urban planners can design sustainable and efficient infrastructure with a blank canvas, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices in urban planning. This approach can lead to more resilient and adaptive cities capable of mitigating the effects of climate change and other environmental challenges,” adds Architect Fulgar.

Cities that lead coastal land reclamation

Singapore, Dubai, and Hong Kong, says Architect Fulgar, are some of the world’s most notable cities with impressive urban reclamation projects. “Not only have they transformed their respective landscapes but also captured global attention,” he says.

Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay are testaments to the city-state’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The former is a luxury integrated resort famed for transforming Singapore’s coastline and city skyline, whereas the latter is a spectacularly unique horticultural destination that combines art, science, and nature. These reclaimed land developments further boost the country’s international reputation and real estate value around the area.

For some parts of the United Arab Emirates, coastal land reclamation has significantly changed its geography. Dubai, which has completely transformed into an ultramodern city, features ambitious projects now known as some of the most recognizable developments in the world like Palm Jumeirah and The World. “They have reshaped the coastline and established the city as a leader in innovative development, significantly elevating Dubai’s real estate value and worldwide interest,” says Architect Fulgar.

Photo credit to Abid Bin Nazar. An aerial view of Palm Jumeirah.

Palm Jumeirah is an awe-inspiring artificial archipelago shaped like a palm tree when viewed from above. It houses some of Dubai’s luxury hotels, residences, and entertainment venues. Likewise, The World is a groundbreaking project composed of small artificial islands in the shape of a world map.

Lastly, Hong Kong’s commitment to preserved art, culture, and ongoing sustainable urban development is exemplified by its West Kowloon Cultural District. It is a 40-hectare reclaimed site along Victoria Harbour’s waterfront designated as the city’s vibrant cultural quarter where the local arts scene can interact, develop, and collaborate throughout its sustainability principles.

Architect Fulgar, who firmly believes in creating spaces that foster belonging and unity, highlights that Singapore, Dubai, and Hong Kong share common denominators in their successful urban reclamation projects. These are innovative design and planning, focus on sustainability and commitment to cultural and societal development, and the subsequent increase in real estate value.

“These projects have created iconic and visually striking landscapes by pushing the boundaries of engineering and urban design. Sustainability is often at the forefront, integrating practices and technologies that minimize environmental impact and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors,” says Architect Fulgar on these cities’ commitment to sustainability atop function and aesthetics.

Best practices of coastal land reclamation

Despite recognition of world-class reclamation projects, one of their primary challenges is facing criticism and potential issues over sustainability concerns. Architect Fulgar shares that the solution is through the responsibility of vital stakeholders to adopt a collaborative approach and adaptive strategies in implementing best practices, such as prioritizing sustainability and disaster resilience goals in waterfront developments.

“The future of city development, especially in coastal areas, rests with stakeholders prioritizing sustainability and disaster resilience. By adopting a comprehensive, collaborative, and adaptable strategy, they can transform the design, construction, and management of waterfront development – ultimately creating more sustainable, resilient, and prospering urban environments that benefit both people and the environment,” adds Architect Fulgar.

Moreover, Architect Fulgar puts emphasis on a well-planned project that begins with the developers’ thorough research and analysis of the selected area about potential environmental impacts, disaster risks, and local community needs. Architects and engineers need to incorporate sustainable design principles and green and blue spaces to reduce the development's environmental footprint.

“Trends and insights on global reclamation illustrate the potential of reclamation projects in addressing various urban development, environmental conservation, and community well-being needs – leading to more sustainable and resilient urban planning worldwide. By adopting these lessons and focusing on sustainable growth, the Philippines can capitalize on its potential and carve a path to a brighter future.”

Nora Aunor, The Superstar, Happily Welcomes the New Year

1/22/2022 12:36:00 AM

One of the best gifts for moms is having everyone in one house celebrating whatever occasion to celebrate. For the Superstar, Nora Aunor, having all her children with her grandchildren celebrating New Year or just a simple get-together is the best gift already.

Indeed one of the best gifts ever, because at the beginning of 2022, Nora Aunor was visited by her children Ian, Matet, Kenneth at Kiko together with the grandchildren. The momentous occasion can be seen on Ate Guy's Youtube Channel. Fans and followers can catch the event on the Youtube Channel. Just be sure to keep quiet and do the meaningful health standard.

Ian, one of Nora Aunor's kids, gave a line of thanks to him. "We thank the good Lord for blessing us with a good mother with a big heart, loving, understanding, and down-to-earth mother that we, your family can cherish for as long as we live."

As we all know, there's a little bit of tension between Nora and Matet, Ian, Kenneth, plus Kiko. So for the sake of love and celebration, let there be forgiveness and happiness.

Ms. Kris Aquino, Single Mom, and An Inspiration

4/14/2021 10:50:00 PM

A few weeks ago, Ms. Kris Aquino was one of the highlights of news and stories on the net. One, because she defended her children from malicious comments, and two is her action towards that specific issue. It's not easy being a mom, and it's not easy to take on hateful comments, especially if the remarks are towards her beloved children.

Last April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan, Ms. Kris released a video on her Social Media account bravely expressed her feelings being a mom, the nurturer, and the provider for her family, and her actions of facing the next tomorrow of her life. Just like the rainbow that brings new hope for the coming days.

Probably most of us have known Ms. Kris Aquino from her younger days. We have seen her on TV shows, movies, and even talk shows. She is a very unusual and expressive celebrity who has created a name out of being Kris. Yes, she speaks differently, and she has a list of issues in her past, but now is different. Her name talks, but her being a mom inspires louder. The strength of a single mom flows in her words. speaks

Naturally, moms are protective of their children, and Ms. Kris is one good example of a mother shielding her offsprings from things that can relatively harm them. Her kids are her source of happiness, her 'happy pill,' the joy and light, even when she faces the darkest moments of her life. You can see that it reflects through her sons and how Ms. Kris treats them and care for them. She's frank, calm, and loved by her sons. cool

Her situation is not unusual because I know some single moms who strive and work hard for their families. Most especially the ones who have kids with special needs. The sacrifices they did just like Ms. Kris, who endures everything. I can say that I can relate too because my wife gave way not to work anymore to take care of our kids, especially the little one with mild ADHD.

I remember Ms. Kris being the Queen of All Media, and up to now, she still is, but probably taking that title a notch higher because she's now taking the wave of Social Media. Renowned musicians, artists, activists, and political and religious leaders here and abroad will gather in another online community jamming to express their support for Opposition Senator Leila M. de Lima who will be marking her fourth year in unjust detention on Feb. 24.

Dubbed “Leilaya! Mga Tinig at Himig ng Paglaya,” the online jamming organized in partnership with the Free Leila de Lima Movement (FLM) and the Committee for the Freedom of Leila M. de Lima (Free Leila Committee) will feature performances from artists such as Agot Isidro, Ebe Dancel, Bugoy Drilon, Gary Granada, Bituin Escalante, Bayang Barrios, Cooky Chua, Pochoy Labog of Dicta License, True Faith, Mae Paner, Pinky Amador, US-based singers and bands from other countries.

Also joining the artists are Senators Frank Drilon, Risa Hontiveros and Kiko Pangilinan, Atty. Chel Diokno, journalist Maria Ressa, film director Joel Lamangan, Bishop Broderick Pabillo, several political leaders abroad, and various civil-society groups.

A solidarity message from Vice President Leni Robredo is also expected.

The online community jamming will be available for audience viewing through livestreaming of Free Leila Movement, Free Leila Committee and the official Leila de Lima Facebook pages at 7:30 pm on Feb. 24.

It may be recalled that over 70 musicians, artists, leaders, religious and progressive groups, and ordinary Filipinos also joined the online community jamming entitled “Leilaya! Tinig at Musika para sa Diwang Malaya” to celebrate the 61st birthday of De Lima last Aug. 27, 2020.

De Lima, known as the most prominent political prisoner under the Duterte regime, was recently acquitted in one of her three trumped-up drug cases.

The lady Senator from Bicol has consistently maintained that no amount of lies by political manipulators and even paid trolls could erase her innocence from all the trumped-up illegal drug charges filed against her. (30)
