What's the most favorite part of every meal? Well, for us there are two, one is the main course with enticing dishes and the other one is the dessert with so much flavorful sweets. And we're just lucky that rainy days isn't always about staying inside the house because thank you to Recipes that we were able to catch up with their tasty dishes on rain-pouring day.
Recipes Restaurant has been around for more than a decade already and it has grown its number of branches in different parts of the metro. Mostly are located inside in some of the busiest mall in greater manila.
During the bloggers's day at the Recipes Restaurant in Greenhills, San Juan City we were able to experience some of their best ordered dishes plus their heavenly sweet tasty pastries partnered with strong brewed coffee, very much perfect for the rainy days. Here are some of the dishes that we've experienced at Recipes...
GISING-GISING - literally if translated in English this means "Wake Up, Wake Up" and with the ingredients that it has will surely make you awake enough. Gising-gising's ingredients are green beans and ground pork cooked with coconut milk. To make it spicy enough it is added with siling green (green chili pepper) and sometimes the wild pepper or siling labuyo to make it even spicier but for Recipes version of Gising-gising is just right for the common taste buds of the Filipino. This Recipes version of Gising-gising mixed the flavor enough to taste every ingredients that it has.
GENERAL'S CHICKEN - perhaps this can be considered as a version of Buffalo wings. Recipes' General's Chicken makes the sweet and spice complement with each other underneath the tender texture of the chicken meat. Kids will also love this very much. For me it touches my palate, spicy, sweet and tasty.
KARE-KARE - when talking of this dish I can say that I'm a sucker for Kare-kare and perhaps I can say that I have tasted most versions of Kare-kare. On this particular restaurant, the Recipes, their version of Kare-kare entice me very much to have it again and again. It pars with some of the Kare-kare that I know.
FRIED TILAPIA - this particular dish made me realized that we can truly play with the dishes and be creative. Presented in a french fries-like cut only much thicker. I think kids with problem eating fish will be enticed by this presentation.
With only this four dishes our tummies were already full and ready to relax on a rainy afternoon but according to the owners we still have dessert and this is what most of us wanted to have just right after a full heavy meal.
BARAKO MOOUSE - if you're craving something chocolatey and strong, this dessert is the one for you. Its even great if paired with a brewed coffee.
CALAMANSI TART - taste just great if you're into calamansi flavors.
These are some of the best sellers that we've experienced at the Recipes Restaurant. The establishment got cool place though its capacity is not big enough for large groups, accommodating crews and interesting meals. Try to visit one of their branches near your place and have your own experience.
