BGYO Elevates the Excitement on "Darna" OST "Patuloy Lang Ang Lipad"

10:59:00 PM

Old Darna OST out, New Darna OST in! BGYO joins this generation’s Darna in her flight against great danger with the group’s rousing rendition of “Patuloy Lang Ang Lipad,” the main theme song of the new ABS-CBN Entertainment series, “Mars Ravelo’s Darna.”

Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate’s latest P-pop offering conveys the excitement and confidence in the program’s titular character, Darna played by Jane De Leon, who embodies heroism, love, and compassion for the people of the fictional Nueva Esperanza.

Released a day before “Darna” simultaneously premiered on television and online last August 15, the soundtrack has already earned over 136,000 streams on Spotify and almost 100,000 views on YouTube. It also charted as the leading song on iTunes in the Philippines, Singapore, UAE, and Saudi Arabia immediately after release.

BGYO performed the track in a live performance on “ASAP Natin ‘To” featuring the powerhouse cast of “Darna.”

Kapamilya singer-songwriters Angela Ken, Trisha Denise, SAB, and Lian Kyla penned the lyrics of “Patuloy Lang Ang Lipad” with ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo who also produced the song.

The series meanwhile continues to be the talk of the town with viewers anticipating Darna’s challenging fights against Extras in the coming episodes and her growing friendship with Brian Robles (Joshua Garcia).

Produced by ABS-CBN’s JRB Creative Production unit, “Darna” airs weeknights at 8 pm on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, CineMo, and TV5. It is also available on iWantTFC and TFC.

BGYO’s “Patuloy Lang Ang Lipad” is available on various digital streaming platforms. For updates, follow @abscbnpr on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram or visit www.abs-cbn.com/newsroom.

9:51:00 PM

Two of today's rising P-Pop group, less than a year after their official launches, BINI and BGYO have enjoyed several milestones with their fans: BINI’s music video for their debut single, “Born to Win,” was featured in MTV Asia last month and has already crossed one million views, while BGYO has landed on the number one spot on Billboard’s global Next Big Sound chart, coinciding with the release of their latest single “The Baddest,” which just surpassed one million views on YouTube.

Having grown together from being trainees to full-fledged rookie idol groups, BINI and BGYO are taking the next big steps that will define their journey and their sound as they gear up for their upcoming joint concert and respective debut albums.

BINI and BGYO are making history with their sibling concert – the first in P-pop – called “One Dream: The BINI x BGYO Concert,” which will be streamed worldwide on November 6 and 7 on KTX.PH, iWantTFC, and TFC IPTV.

“One Dream: The BINI x BGYO Concert” is also the first two-day concert in the Philippines to feature a unique repertoire per day, promising a grand extravaganza of world-class performances of old favorites and new releases.

The November 6 show will be filled with electrifying performances by each group, collaborations on fan-favorite songs, and exciting numbers by surprise guest artists. A special early bird promotion for VIP tickets will have a limited run from August 31 to September 2 only. Those who want to buy early will have access to the two shows with a special price of P999 or US$19.99.

Before their joint concert in November, both groups are coming out with their much-awaited full-length debut albums, both of which will have all-original songs. Some members of the groups also got to flex their creativity by composing their own songs for the albums.

For BINI, fans can anticipate the release of the group’s sophomore single in September before the whole debut album drops in October.

BGYO, on the other hand, will continue promoting “The Baddest,” whose music video recently trended worldwide on YouTube and hit number one on iTunes Philippines, before the release of the album, also in October.

Buzz For P-Pop Boy Group on the Rise 'BGYO' Continues to Spread

7:11:00 AM

P-Pop has found its bright new star as new boy group BGYO’S music video for its debut single “The Light” continues to rake in thousands of views and positive reviews following the group’s grand launch.

The music video already has a combined total of over 700,000 views from its official YouTube channel and Facebook page, which continue to grow.

Composed of Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate, the group was initially known as SHA Boys, which first got TV audiences and netizens’ admiration as the group made the rounds of television shows. Their “It’s Showtime” performance has over a million views and earned praises for its outstanding precision.

As the music video premiered at the launch, the group got the chance to show off their skills once more. For the boys, it was a result of many hours of hard work.

“All the hardwork was worth it, now that I’m seeing the video for the first time,” Akira said.

For group leader Gelo, it was the culmination of their long and daunting journey. “Nakakaiyak yung Makita mo yung journey naming leading to this,” he said.

Meanwhile, fan energy for the group was strongly felt at the launch as they stormed social media with tweets that showered the five young men with praises for their talent and refreshing presence in the music scene.

Rosa Diaz said, “Those vocals and choreo. Plus points their visuals! Complete package. ABS-CBN hit a jackpot here.”

"Madaming ibubuga. Yung charisma nila sa stage (ung swag) andoon. Their visuals are all superb. Good voice too. Hindi ko makalimutan ung sa Asap! Doon ako unang naamaze sa kanila. How well they performed despite their struggle w/ their lapels," @poreveryoung posted.

With an aim to create music that resonates with the youth today, BGYO’s debut single “The Light” is a song about empowerment, hope, and self-love.

Among those inspired by the song’s relevance to the times was Jaycel Ann Sumayod, who commented on YouTube, “I am really amazed that their first debut song is all about not giving up in chasing our dreams not the romance drama song that most artists release. For me it is very timely most especially we are all in this pandemic and this online class really give us a struggle but we must be brave at ipaglaban ang ating mga pangarap. Kudos to BGYO and the whole team who planned all of this especially ABS-CBN. You all really work hard for this success! Thank you! Stan BGYO! Stream.”

X- LEI참 commented, “This song is so Lit. Sana meron dito yung "Song of the Year" at "Artist of the year." Can't wait to see more about "BGYO."

BGYO member Mikki said that they have plans to translate the song into different languages so that fans in other countries can fully appreciate it.

Following the group’s exclusive launch, BGYO made their much-awaited appearance on “ASAP Natin ‘To,” where they performed their single for the first time to a larger television audience.

Fans who were unable to catch the launch have a chance to catch it as it airs and streams on February 7 on A2Z at 4PM, Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live starting at 11PM, TFC, and iWantTFC.
