The Living Tombstone to Perform Live in Manila

4/30/2025 09:58:00 PM

Electronic music duo The Living Tombstone is set to perform in Manila on July 8, 2025, at the New Frontier Theater. The show is presented by Ovation Productions, with Blast TV serving as the official media partner.

The act, composed of Yoav Landau and Sam Haft, has become a major name in online music and geek culture, thanks to its signature blend of electronic beats, catchy hooks, and genre-defying compositions. The group boasts more than 8 million subscribers on YouTube and over 70 billion streams across digital platforms.

The upcoming Manila concert follows a successful, sold-out North American tour in 2024.

Best known for their viral track Five Nights at Freddy’s, which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic chart and was featured in the credits of a Blumhouse and NBC Universal film adaptation, The Living Tombstone has built a loyal fanbase in the intersection of gaming, animation, and music.

Landau, who performs as the character “zero_one” onstage, founded the project over a decade ago while growing up in Israel, using music as a creative outlet and a way to connect with global fandom communities. Haft, a former TV and film writer, joined as vocalist and lyricist in 2017.

“They disproved the rule that you can’t just put your music out there and expect people to find it,” said the group’s manager, David Boxenbaum, co-founder of Octone Records. “They did exactly that—and millions did.”

Boxenbaum discovered the duo during his time at Avex, a Japanese entertainment company, where they collaborated on a TV project. He later encouraged the team to develop their debut album zero_one, which was met with critical and fan acclaim.

The duo has since expanded into gaming and animation projects, including the indie horror game In Sound Mind, which received positive reviews and a “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam. They also developed an animated series pilot, Rock N Rumble, and a companion video game, AudioClash: Battle of the Bands, currently in beta.

Now signed to 10K Projects, The Living Tombstone is preparing to release its sophomore album, Rust, in 2025, produced by CJ Baran (Panic! At the Disco, COIN, One OK Rock). Haft describes the new album as “an exploration of rebellion, dystopia, and the hope of building a better future.”

Tickets for the Manila concert are priced at PHP5,000 for VIP, PHP3,500 for Loge, and PHP2,500 for Balcony, excluding ticketing charges. Tickets will be available at ticketnet.com.ph, with artist presale starting April 30 and general sales beginning May 2.

Filipinos Face Concert Venue Challenges

4/30/2024 06:38:00 PM

Countries with large and competitive concert venues are seeing economic boosts thanks to big-name international acts like Taylor Swift and Coldplay. These concerts draw huge crowds and spur spending, with fans traveling far and wide for the experience.

Take Southeast Asia, for example. When Taylor Swift brought her Eras Tour to Singapore's National Stadium, it wasn't just locals filling the seats. Fans from the Philippines and beyond made the journey, pumping money into the local economy. The same happened in Japan's Tokyo Dome and Australia's Accor Stadium when Coldplay took the stage.

These concerts aren't just about the music—they're about the money. They give a boost to industries like entertainment, hospitality, retail, and transportation. So it's no wonder countries are vying to attract big-name acts and build venues to host them.

1. Location is key

The Philippines doesn’t lack in big venues. In fact, it boasts of venues that can rival Singapore’s National Stadium and Japan’s Tokyo Dome. Accessibility to the location as well as public transportation and nearby commercial establishments are key.

2. Concert Experience

Singapore’s pride, the National Stadium, has innovative features such as the world’s largest free-spanning dome, a retractable roof and comfort cooling technology for spectators’ convenience. Its innovation, strategic location, and efficiency bring positive and immersive experiences for enthusiasts and concert fans, making it a magnet for entertainment acts from all over the world. A similar concert venue and experience is something that Filipino concertgoers are hoping the country can replicate.

3. World-class concert amenities and facilities

Accessing the venue's amenities and facilities should offer a premium music experience for concert enthusiasts or convenience in a sporting event.

Take for example the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena – a flexible indoor arena developed in 2012 by leading integrated property developer SM Prime – that has been a top-of-mind venue for all sorts of events and offers a unique concert experience. With a full house seating capacity of 20,000, it has been a haven for thrilling sports events, remarkable OPM shows, and unforgettable international superstar performances.

Meanwhile, the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City is likewise an enormous outdoor venue that can accommodate at least 50,000 people. Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour and Rivermaya The Reunion were among the performers that have graced the stage recently.

4. Achieving Filipinos’ concert dreams

One of the most forward-looking plans of SM Prime is its 360-hectare smart city development which is envisioned to bring in a centerpiece to the country’s entertainment and sporting events – larger in capacity and a more enhanced venue infrastructure that would attract legendary icons in the entertainment scene and compete against Southeast Asia and the world’s best. It will feature an estimated 70,000-capacity stadium and concert arena connected to one of the island’s main destination paradises called Central Park. The sizable arena is envisioned to be the Philippines’ biggest concert venue, with world-class facilities and sustainable features, comparable to other big concert venues worldwide. Once that’s built, Filipinos won’t have to fly overseas because they can watch top-tier performances right from the comfort of their home country.

Without a doubt, Pinoys live and breathe entertainment shows. In fact, Filipinos are the 4th top concert spenders in Asia-Pacific according to digital payments company Visa, proof of how passionate we are about concerts. By investing in the development of modern, smart, and accessible concert venues, Filipino concert enthusiasts can continue to embrace and celebrate live performances with the convenience, comfort, and enjoyment they deserve. Beyond entertainment, well-curated, smart, and innovative concert facilities can further drive economic benefits to the Philippines’ national and local economies, including ancillary local spending in retail, tourism, and hospitality.

The Decision Behind BINI's Three-Day Solo Concert: A Strategic Move or Fan Appreciation?

4/21/2024 11:45:00 AM

The announcement of BINI's first solo concert at the New Frontier Theater sent waves of excitement through the P-pop community. However, what truly caught the attention of fans was the unexpected decision to extend the concert series to three days, marking a significant departure from the initial plan of a single-day event.

For many, the question arises: Why did BINI choose to expand their solo concert to three days? Was it a strategic move to capitalize on their soaring popularity, or simply a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated fanbase, the Blooms?

According to industry insiders, the decision to add two additional dates to BINI's solo concert was a carefully calculated move aimed at accommodating the overwhelming demand for tickets and ensuring that as many fans as possible could experience the magic of BINIverse.

Since bursting onto the scene, BINI has amassed a devoted following, affectionately referred to as the Blooms, who have stood by the group through every milestone and achievement. Recognizing the importance of their fans' support, BINI and their management team made the bold decision to extend the concert series, allowing more Blooms to be part of this historic moment in the group's journey.

Moreover, the expansion of BINI's solo concert aligns with their overarching goal of connecting with fans on a deeper level and creating memorable experiences that resonate long after the final encore. By extending the concert to three days, BINI aims to foster a sense of inclusivity and belonging among their diverse fanbase, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to witness their electrifying performances firsthand.

Additionally, the decision to hold a three-day concert reflects BINI's commitment to pushing boundaries and challenging conventions in the ever-evolving landscape of P-pop music. By breaking away from the traditional one-day format, BINI is setting a new standard for solo concerts in the industry, proving that when it comes to delivering unforgettable experiences, the sky's the limit.

As fans eagerly await the arrival of BINIverse, one thing is clear: the decision to extend the concert series to three days is not just a testament to BINI's popularity, but also a testament to the unwavering bond between the group and their dedicated fanbase. Whether it's a strategic move or an act of appreciation, one thing is certain: BINIverse is set to be an unforgettable celebration of music, passion, and the unbreakable connection between BINI and their beloved Blooms.

CFDC's Nutrition Concert at The Manila Hotel

2/08/2024 01:05:00 PM

Valentine's Day, a cherished celebration for many, brings with it the allure of romance. Each February, singers and balladeers take the stage, serenading audiences with love songs to ignite passion. However, with this romantic feels, a unique concert will be staged, one that transcends love to advocate for Filipino children. Here are the details.

Teaming up with The Manila Hotel, the Children’s First One Thousand Days Coalition (CFDC) is hosting a dinner concert. The aim? To generate funds for non-governmental organizations dedicated to combating malnutrition among Filipino infants during their critical early years, from conception to their second birthday.

Dubbed "The Greatest Love of All," this pre-Valentine concert is set for Feb. 9, 2024, at 6 pm, taking place at The Manila Hotel's Tent City. The lineup features prominent figures such as former Press Secretary Atty. Mike Toledo, former Executive Secretary Atty. Salvador Medialdea, and The Manila Hotel President and former Senator Joey Lina.

Joining them on stage will be a talented ensemble including Beverly Salviejo, Nina Campos, Jenny Sugay, Rachelle Rule, Rachel Verns, Pam Esquivel, Bobby Alvarez, Egay Rubiano, Jeffrey Panado, Egay Banaag, and the Adeodatus Children’s Choir (Baseco) accompanied by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. Steering the musical direction is Rodel Colmenar, while George Sison-Tagle and Paul Dizon oversee the concert's overall direction.

CFDC member organizations include Rotary International, Lions Club International, Kiwanis International, Junior Chamber International, The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines, The Fraternal Order of Eagles - Philippine Eagles, Knights of Columbus, Knights of Rizal, Save the Children Philippines, World Vision Philippines, Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals, Philippine League of Government and Private Midwives, Crusade Against Violence, and many more.

In tandem with government, the CFDC was formed to confront a serious problem troubling the Philippines: malnutrition during a child’s First One Thousand Days of Life – a very critical period when the impact of poor nutrition can be profound, long-lasting, even irreversible.

Thus, The Greatest Love of All is not merely an entertainment spectacle but a collaborative initiative to generate funds for the nutrition program of NGOs in the barangays. The CFDC welcomes everyone to participate in this meaningful cause, helping make the nutrition efforts a success and contributing to the goal of fostering “smarter, stronger, taller” Filipinos.

In a recent statement, Pops shared her thoughts on reaching this incredible milestone, saying, "I actually did not expect myself to be in the business this long. I usually say 10 years is okay, but here we are, I lasted this long. There are so many things that happened to me, my life and career."

She shares, "For the concert, I will do a new fast song, something current, and you'll also see me perform 'Get it Poppin!', a song that may get appreciated by the new generation."

Pops encapsulates the essence of the concert, saying, "At the end of the day, gusto ko nag-e-enjoy lang yung audience ko. Ito yung two nights na pagpasok mo, let’s just have fun. Bawal mag-isip. Para kang nanood ng pelikula for one and half or two hours. Mag-e-enjoy kayo. Makaka-relate kayo sa mga kakantahin ko." So, what are you waiting for? Secure your seats and get ready to be part of this musical celebration!
