Reiven Umali Stands as New “TAWAGNGTANGHALAN” Grand Champion

9:45:00 PM

If you have seen the "Huling Tapatan," Reiven Umali of Carmona, Cavite was hailed the latest grand champion of the longest-running singing competition in the country “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on “It’s Showtime” on Saturday (September 18).

The 18-year-old singer and kumu streamer earned a total average score of 93% from the combined hurado scores from judges Louie Ocampo, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Karylle, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Nyoy Volante, and Klarisse de Guzman and the public votes. He beat Adrian Manibale with 55.7% and Anthony Castillo with 52%.

As the fifth “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion, Reiven won P1 million, a brand new house and lot from Camella worth P2.3 million, a recording contract with ABS-CBN Music, a management contract under Star Magic's Polaris, and a trophy designed by Toym Imao. Meanwhile, Adrian got P200,000 and Anthony won P100,000.

In the first round of the 'Huling Tapatan,' 'Go for Gold,' Reiven received a standing ovation from the judges after he sang a heartfelt rendition of Radio Head's "The Creep."

Psalm Manalo, Gem Christian, Froilan Cedilla, Lorraine Galvez, and Aixia Mallary were eliminated after their pangmalakasang performances’s combined scores did not make the cut.

The newest "TNT" grand champion eventually won the hearts of madlang pipol and judges by performing a medley of Moira Dela Torre songs that included "Paubaya," "Malaya," and "Tagpuan."

Many Filipinos watched “TNT” award its newest grand champion, as the grand finals’ official hashtag #TNT5AngHulingTapatan topped the list of trending topics on Twitter worldwide. Also making it to the list of trending topics related to the event were BGYOxTNT5GrandFinals, BGYO THEBADDEST ON SHOWTIME, Mapa, HULING TAPATAN WITH VICEION, QUEEN VICE GANDA, TNT5 WITH HURADOKARYLLE, Reiven, Anthony Castillo, Adrian, TOP 3, at Tanghalan.

Eight singers fight for their dreams in 5th "Tawag ng Tanghalan" finals on "It's Showtime"

12:31:00 PM

This coming Saturday, one of eight singers from different parts of the country will change their life forever as they battle it in the fifth "Tawag ng Tanghalan" grand finals on "It's Showtime"

Find out who among finalists Reiven Umali, Froilan Cedilla, Psalm Manalo, Gem Christian, Adrian Manibale, Anthony Castillo, Lorraine Galvez and Aixia Mallary will follow the footsteps of Noven Belleza, Janine Berdin, and Elaine Duran, and JM Yosures.

The new champion will win P1 million, a brand new house and lot from Camella worth P2.3 million, a recording contract with ABS-CBN Music, a management contract under Star Magic's Polaris, and a trophy designed by Toym Imao.

During the mediacon of the Tawag ng Tanghalan, we were able to ask the Hurados if they have already seen potentials to these finalists and who among they think will be hailed as the Grand Champion? The Hurados graciously shared that each one of them has their favorites already but sometimes things change on the day of the final round.

During the first round, the finalists are set to showcase their chosen 'pangmalakasang' song. At the end, only the three finalists with the highest scores from the judges will move on to the last round.

Like the past 'Huling Tapatan,' the three remaining finalists will perform a medley of their musical influences. Compared to the first round, half of the scores of the contestants will come from the votes of the viewers. The finalist who garners the highest combined scores from the judges' scores and votes from the madlang people will take home the fifth "TNT" grand champion title.

Who among the eight finalists will prevail? Don't miss the intense battle in the 'Huling Tapatan' of "Tawag sa Tanghalan" on "It's Showtime" on A2Z channel on free TV and digital TV boxes, Kapamilya Channel on cable and satellite TV, Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, and on the iWantTFC app (iOs and Android) and on iwanttfc.com. 9 Singers Contends to Win This Season of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" on "It's Showtime"

12:28:00 AM

If you have been following the journey of these nine (9) singers with extraordinary voices, you'll definitely get a hard time choosing who will win in this season of Tawag Ng Tanghalan on "It's Showtime." So, from February 1 to 6 these singers will battle it out to become the grand champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan".

Like in the previous grand finals, the nine contenders will have to sing for the judges and the viewers because the score of each of their performances will come from the judges’ points (50%) and viewers’ text votes (50%).

The latest “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion will win P1 million, a brand new house and lot from Lessandra worth P2 million, a recording contract with Star Music, a management contract with Star Magic, and a special trophy designed by Toym Imao.

The last slot in the “huling tapatan” was filled on Saturday (January 30) by Rachell Laylo of Lipa City, Batangas who secured her hold on the seat of power in the nerve-wracking “Resbakbakan.”

Come Monday, she will face off with fellow singing contest veterans, such as Rica Mae Maer of Villasis, Pangasinan, Emmar Cabilogan of Maasin, Leyte, and Nikole Kyle Bernido of Cagayan De Oro City.

Also remaining unfazed and ready for battle are Makki Lucino of Sorsogon, JM Yosures of Taguig City, Donna Gift Ricafrente of Sta. Cruz Laguna, Mara Tumale of Malolos, Bulacan, and Ayegee Paredes of Bukidnon.

On the first two days of the competition, the finalists will have to pull out all the stops in performing songs that depict their journeys. The one who will get the lowest combined score will be eliminated by the end of Tuesday’s episode.

The scores will be reset back to zero as the remaining finalists go all-out with their fight songs on Wednesday and Thursday, and “Now or never” songs on Friday. Again, one finalist per day will be eliminated on Thursday and Friday.

The fight reaches a critical stage on Saturday, as the remaining six grand finalists battle it out with their “Dream Songs” in order to escape elimination.

In the “huling tapatan,” the final three contenders will each perform a song medley by an artist in their bid to become the grand champion. In the end, the grand finalist who will record the highest combined score from the madlang people votes and judges’ scores will be named the grand champion.

Who among the nine grand finalists will become the fourth “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion and follow in the footsteps of Noven Belleza, Janine Berdin, and Elaine Duran?
