VHONG IS NOW BACK ON “IT’S SHOWTIME”!!!!

5:28:00 AM

It's the return of the comeback!!!!

“It’s Showtime” family and the madlang people gave host Vhong Navarro a rousing welcome upon his return to the popular noontime variety show on Monday. The actor-host was moved to tears as his fellow hosts performed Moffats' "I'll Be There For You."

Vhong revealed that it took him some time to return to the show as he had to attend to important matters.

“Paglabas ko hindi ko pala kaya magbalik agad kasi may mga proseso pang kailangan gawin. Pero mabait yung Panginoon hindi niya ako pinabayaan kaya andito na ako. Maraming salamat sa ABS-CBN kasi may trabaho ako ulit. Nandito rin yung pamilya ko," he added.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda shared that Vhong was unsure as to whether he would receive the same enthusiastic reception from the madlang people.

“Paulit-ulit ko na lang na pinaalala sa kanya na kung makakagaan sa dibdib niya na mas nararamdaman namin kung gaano ka nila kamahal. I don't usually read comments pero kung tungkol sa iyo binabasa ko. More than 95% ng comments tungkol sa pagmamahal at suporta sa iyo. Kaya hindi magiging mahirap ang pagbabalik mo kasi inaantay lang nila ang pagbabalik mo para mayakap, mahalin, at suportahan ka," the Unkabogable star said.

Their fellow hosts Anne Curtis, Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, Karylle, Amy Perez, Ryan Bang, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Ion Perez, Cianne Dominguez, and MC Muah also expressed their happiness at Vhong’s comeback.

"Alam mo palaging sinasabi ko sa chatroom na I know you need the time as well to be with the people who really missed you. But I just wanted to see that we are really happy to have you back and welcome home,”said Anne.

"Alam mo noong wala ka, nagdadasal kami na may milagro na bumalik ka. Ikaw pala yung milagro, "said Ogie.

I'm just so grateful."

Teddy, Ryan, and Ion stated how they prayed to be with their brother Vhong again.

First Time in "It's Showtime" G-FORCE Sweeps “MADLANG PI-POLL and Wins P150,000 Jackpot Prize

9:00:00 AM

Last September 2, Thursday, members of the dance group G-Force rejoiced as they made history on “It’s Showtime” by becoming the first batch of studio players to sweep all seven rounds of “Madlang Pi-Poll,” the Philippines’ first interactive game segment on TV.

Jorge Marvin, Myka Gonzaga, and John Michael took home the jackpot prize of P105,000 plus an additional P45,000 for correctly guessing all of the answers of home viewers to seven poll-based questions.

The final question was “Paano mo malalaman ‘pag nanlalamig na siya sa relasyon? (How will you know your relationship has turned cold?).” Out of the six choices, the dancers picked “Wala nang oras (When they can no longer find time for you),” which turned out to be the answer of the majority of home viewers (33%).

Home viewers, meanwhile, were not left empty-handed as three of them won ABS-CBN merchandise as consolation prizes.

The hit segment has seen a steady increase in participating home viewers all over the country since its launch in July, as it recorded an all-time high of 84,272 active players last August 27.

“Madlang Pi-Poll” gives studio players and home viewers the chance to win cash prizes by answering poll questions. The prize is added to the studio players’ pot money if their answer matches the majority vote of home viewers. Otherwise, the money will be added to the total of the home players, which will then be evenly divided among randomly drawn winners.

To join the game, viewers, using their laptop or mobile device, can log on to www.joinnow.ph/showtime or scan the QR code that will be flashed on-screen and answer the game’s poll-based questions during the live segment.

A participant must be a Filipino citizen living in the Philippines, at least 18 years old, and has a valid ID. But to qualify for the raffle draw and get a chance to win prizes, they must register and provide their full name, address, age, phone number, and e-mail address after answering the final question in the game.

Let your voice be heard by joining “Madlang Pi-Poll” from Mondays to Saturdays on “It’s Showtime” on A2Z channel on free TV and digital TV boxes, Kapamilya Channel on cable and satellite TV, Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, and on the iWantTFC app (iOs and Android) and on iwanttfc.com. Viewers outside of the Philippines can also catch it on The Filipino Channel on cable and IPTV.

The audience and the players can look forward to the fun and the energy of the show since we’re merging different generations of people together. We have great guests and contestants who will do their best to outwit one another,” he said.

Meanwhile, Andre expressed his enthusiasm to be hosting the game show with Sef. He shared, “I was shocked when they told me because I had no idea I’d be one of the hosts they would consider. But I will do what I can to make everyone happy and proud. Also, working with Sef doesn’t feel like work. It feels like I’m hanging out with my big brother and having a great time with our guests.”

Joining them in bringing top-notch entertainment in GOTG as the Gen Dolls are Mariko, Crissy, and Mariel of former 'Britain's Got Talent' top act The Miss Tres.

The highly-anticipated program fuses singing, dancing, and playing games by engaging two teams against each other in three rounds namely, Tough Pick, Match Better, and List Mo Na ‘Yan. Each team is composed of two pairs from different generations – Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.

Questions and topics will vary from music, dance, entertainment, fashion, and trends from the different generations that are all relatable to the young and multigenerational. The winning pair will take home the jackpot prize of P300,000.

For the show’s first episode this Sunday, Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza and her dad Antonio "Tony" Forteza will play versus Kapuso Action Drama Prince Ruru Madrid and seasoned actress Ms. Snooky Serna.

9 Singers Contends to Win This Season of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" on "It's Showtime"

12:28:00 AM

If you have been following the journey of these nine (9) singers with extraordinary voices, you'll definitely get a hard time choosing who will win in this season of Tawag Ng Tanghalan on "It's Showtime." So, from February 1 to 6 these singers will battle it out to become the grand champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan".

Like in the previous grand finals, the nine contenders will have to sing for the judges and the viewers because the score of each of their performances will come from the judges’ points (50%) and viewers’ text votes (50%).

The latest “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion will win P1 million, a brand new house and lot from Lessandra worth P2 million, a recording contract with Star Music, a management contract with Star Magic, and a special trophy designed by Toym Imao.

The last slot in the “huling tapatan” was filled on Saturday (January 30) by Rachell Laylo of Lipa City, Batangas who secured her hold on the seat of power in the nerve-wracking “Resbakbakan.”

Come Monday, she will face off with fellow singing contest veterans, such as Rica Mae Maer of Villasis, Pangasinan, Emmar Cabilogan of Maasin, Leyte, and Nikole Kyle Bernido of Cagayan De Oro City.

Also remaining unfazed and ready for battle are Makki Lucino of Sorsogon, JM Yosures of Taguig City, Donna Gift Ricafrente of Sta. Cruz Laguna, Mara Tumale of Malolos, Bulacan, and Ayegee Paredes of Bukidnon.

On the first two days of the competition, the finalists will have to pull out all the stops in performing songs that depict their journeys. The one who will get the lowest combined score will be eliminated by the end of Tuesday’s episode.

The scores will be reset back to zero as the remaining finalists go all-out with their fight songs on Wednesday and Thursday, and “Now or never” songs on Friday. Again, one finalist per day will be eliminated on Thursday and Friday.

The fight reaches a critical stage on Saturday, as the remaining six grand finalists battle it out with their “Dream Songs” in order to escape elimination.

In the “huling tapatan,” the final three contenders will each perform a song medley by an artist in their bid to become the grand champion. In the end, the grand finalist who will record the highest combined score from the madlang people votes and judges’ scores will be named the grand champion.

Who among the nine grand finalists will become the fourth “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion and follow in the footsteps of Noven Belleza, Janine Berdin, and Elaine Duran?

Ligo 101 in Pinoy Big Brother Connect with Justin and Jie-Ann

10:43:00 PM

Currently, there's a trending topic on the net, which is the Ligo 101 in Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Connect, where Justin and Jie-Ann are the subjects or the object of criticism. Accordingly, this scene in the PBB Connect shows where Justin and Jie-Ann are both inside the confession room made different reactions from the netizens.

Though the topic is about proper hygiene, some of the netizens find this a little bit insulting. But others find this segment positive and educational. So, in totality, there is a mix of reactions and different interpretations of this PBB segment.

In my opinion about this is that we all have different knowledge and understanding of taking a bath. For some, simple soap and water are enough to take a bath. Or even a dip in a river or ilog is their way of taking a bath. And while others are lavish in their hygiene routine. On this PBB segment, it is probably about the interpretation. As I understand it, both are being taught in this situation, Jie-ann for not knowing most of the presented hygiene kits like the luffa or sponge and the bath gel. I remember my younger days in the province, there are no luffa or bath gel, only "batong panghilod (round stone for scrubbing) at sabong pangligo (bath soap)." While for Justin, it's about teaching, not only about the names of the hygiene kit but also to understand other people. Not all have access to these things.

You can check out some of the reactions and comments on Twitter about PBB Connect Ligo 101.

So, how about you, what is your opinion?

Celebrities Taking on the Fun Challenge in SHOWTIME'S "Walang Tunugan"

9:57:00 PM

Can you really have fun without making any sound? Well, this is one of the newest segment of "It's Showtime." This is where celebrities will take on different fun challenges without making a sound and the newest game segment is called “Walang Tunugan,” which debuted on Monday (December 14).

In the game, two celebrity players will try to complete a challenge while producing the least amount of noise or sound possible – which will be measured by a decibel meter.

To introduce the game to viewers, hosts Vhong Navarro and Kim Chiu faced off in opening a can of softdrinks while staying as quiet as possible.

Kim emerged as the winner of the game then advanced to the jackpot round, which she had to be accomplished in total silence. Wearing a jacket filled with spikes, Kim tried – but failed – to get through a balloon tunnel without popping a single balloon.

In each episode, online viewers can also get a chance to win the P5,000 prize if they correctly guess which celebrity player will advance to the jackpot round. To join, netizens need to tweet or comment on Facebook the name of the celebrity player along with the show’s official hashtag of the day.

Because Kim failed to complete the task, the cash prize will be added to the accumulated jackpot prize money in the next episode.

Join in the fun in “It’s Showtime” from Mondays to Saturdays on A2Z channel on the digital and analog broadcast. Digital TV box users can scan and look for A2Z channel in Metro Manila and in some parts of Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, and Pampanga.

Viewers can also catch the show on Kapamilya Channel on cable and satellite TV (SKYchannel 8 on SD and channel 167 on HD, Cablelink channel 8, G Sat Direct TV channel 22, and most cable operator-members under Philippine Cable and Telecommunications Association), on Kapamilya Online Live daily on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, and on the iWantTFC app (iOs and Android) and on iwanttfc.com. Viewers outside of the Philippines can also catch it on The Filipino Channel on cable and IPTV.
