Starting a Shapewear Business: Essential Information and Tips

7/26/2023 07:55:00 AM

If you are wanting to start a business, then we highly recommend you start a shapewear one. Shapewear businesses are highly successful, and its value for 2025 has been estimated to reach 3.8 billion dollars. But as in every business, you need to know everything, so you avoid making some mistakes that won’t be helpful to you and your business.

We want to share with you some essential information and also our best tips, so you can also start and have a very successful shapewear business. We believe we need to start by explaining about what shapewear, so we can help you understand this business model.

What you need to know about shapewear

They are undergarments, actually, foundation ones that have been designed to sculpt the figure. They will help to get a desired appealing figure and look, hence the reason most people wear them as undergarments. Now that we have some information about shapewear is important to know a bit about the business.

Shapewear manufacturers have a big range of products to offer you. And depending on the kind of business you want to start you can either buy your own stock or get dropshipping shapewear. Some of the tips shared here will go for both types. But the idea behind the business is to buy the shapewear at wholesale prices, so you can resell it and make a profit.

While you will buy your own stock and handle everything when you have a drop shipping business, the manufacturer if they offer that service, will handle all the logistics, storage, etc., so you basically have to worry about promoting your business and make sure to keep your clients engaged.

Finding a manufacturer

If you are sure that this is the business you want to start, and have your branding created, then it is time to find a shapewear manufacturer or waist trainer vendors. If you start up, you don’t have to have the biggest budget, so you don’t really buy a lot of stock that might not end up selling. Finding a manufacturer that offers no minimum orders or a low minimum one will be the best.

By starting small, once you start making a profit, you can slowly scale the business. To get the best profit you should also consider wholesale manufacturers. Consider ones that have a wide variety of products, and make sure that they are of the highest quality. Make sure their prices are competitive and most importantly that they can offer you effective and fast shipping strategies and good custom packaging. The best way to find one is by reading the reviews.

Select products, but make sure they are proven ones

Once you find your manufacturer, they will give you their catalog of products, and it will be your work to find and choose the ones you want to sell with your business. Choose the ones that you like and are sure your target client will buy. But it is also important to choose products that you know work. Due diligent research to find what people are buying one.

Order samples

Most manufacturers will offer custom services, which means they can customize their products according to your branding. Now that you know what products you want to get and have discussed your branding, it is important to order samples. This is not only a great way to know if the product works, or feels good and also has the promised quality, but also to make sure the customization looks perfect. If not, you can make changes accordingly to what you want or fix any mistakes that need fixing. It is also a great way to see how fast and efficient your manufacturer is at shipping products.

Creating a storefront

Now that you have your products with you, it is important to find a place where you can sell them. Now, it is important to sell offline as well as online, but lately online has become the best choice. It is up to you, if you want to have a physical store, as it will increase your budget.

Photoshoots

No matter if you choose to sell online, offline, or both, it is always important to have photoshoots done of your products. People will need to know how the products look before they actually buy them. The pictures taken can be used on your online store, but you can also use them to create advertising, post on social media, and even print material for your physical store to help your clients have a better choice process.

If it is possible between your budget, and you have chosen to sell inclusive sizes, make sure that you also hire plus size models. This way you are showing all of your clients how your product will look in different body types.

The Buffet Experience at The Manila Hotel's Cafe Ilang-Ilang

7/23/2023 10:00:00 PM

It's one of the many places where everyone is excited to go and experience. If there's what you call revenge travel, then you have this revenge eating. Most of us have missed the clinking sound of plates and glasses, the smokey smell of the prepared dishes, and the enticing color of each food at the counter area waiting to be picked to fill up hungry tummies. All of these sum up our longing to experience the buffet once again.

As for me, well, I got that momentous time because of an invitation to experience it again and what it meant to be full, somehow bloated. Of course, in moderation.

So, where did I enjoy that sumptuous meal? Well, it's in a place where it witnessed historical events and cultural transformation—an established icon and the very first five-star hotel in the country, The Manila Hotel, with its iconic dining destination, Cafe Ilang-Ilang, known for its extensive and exquisite international buffet selection—an array of different flavors for the palate.

Imagine those mouthwatering dishes that you rarely see on your table or plate. So, this opportunity is priceless. At Cafe Ilang-Ilang, you can indulge in different stations—the Salads and Breads Station, the Churrasco Station, the Pan-Asian Station, the Italian Station, the Mediterranean Station, the American Station, and of course, don’t miss out on the Dessert Station.

This month, Cafe Ilang-Ilang offers an additional selection for buffet enthusiasts and hungry bellies. It has partnered with Calle Arco, an ancestral home in Pagsanjan, Laguna, transformed into a restaurant famous for its authentic Filipino dishes prepared with heirloom recipes. So, on the day of my buffet indulgence, I happened to experience not only international cuisines but also the rich Pinoy cultural dish. It's enjoying both worlds from a singular perspective.

The partnership of Cafe Ilang-Ilang and Calle Arco showcases the annual food festivity in Laguna called Anilag or Ani ng Laguna. It is the locals' way of honoring the province's rich culinary heritage.

The Anilag dishes offered at Cafe Ilang-Ilang are on a rotating line-up, so there are cuisines that are not offered on a specific day or night. But during my buffet experience, I was able to get some of its delectable dishes.

There were Binagoongang Crispy Pata, Hurnong Lechon, Kare-Kare (Galapong), Pancit Habhab, Fried Itik, Grilled Pla-Pla with Pako, and Sinigang na Baka na may Langka.

The Experience

Food has always been my comfort, but it's even more interesting and tastier when having it together with your family or friends. As for me, I had good company that night, and I enjoyed every dish. It was gastronomic, but I felt less bloated.

I was late—thank you for the heavy rainfall—but fortunately, I managed to be there since it wasn't a formal event or anything. The main purpose is to experience!

Since the other bloggers already started, I took my time and let myself settle. I let the aroma flicker into my nose, which later enticed me more to stand up and check which food to pick.

It was my first time at Cafe Ilang-Ilang, so familiarity is recommended. I started to roam around and took some videos and snapshots of the selection.

I finally decided to start with the Pancit HabHab. I wanted to taste this version to compare it with the one from Quezon. The noodles were soft, and the flavor is within it. It would have been a habhab experience if it were served on banana leaves.

The next on my plate is the Lumpiang Ubod. The serving may be small for someone with a big appetite, but you can still go back for another round. With the ubod itself, its crunchiness is just right to enjoy it, not too hard and not too soft. The wrapper, made of battered egg (I think), compliments the crunchiness of the Ubod with its soft and fine texture. My only regret was I didn't ask for the pink one for a better color on my plate. So, if you'll have this dish, putting up 3 or 4 together would really create a colorful and enticing plate of Lumpiang Ubod.

Bad of me that I took the appetizers after finishing the pancit. Anyway, together with the Lumpiang Ubod is the Watermelon Caprese, intriguingly looks good and presented very well that you cannot simply not notice it.

Another dish that I totally dig in was the Baked Salmon. I love fish, and I'm glad that it was cooked well and not that ‘malansa’ or fishy. I would really mistake it for bread or something. Getting into the details of the salmon, the fish meat texture is still firm and exactly how it should be, not overcooked nor undercooked.

Of course, I won't miss the opportunity to try some of the main courses of the Anilag offerings—the Kare-Kare (Galapong) and the Adobong Kangkong. Hmm... it makes a rhyme. I'm sure it will also rhyme in your palate.

Added also are the Kani Salad and the Maki, which I like.

After a round of tummy-filling flavors, it’s time to tickle our taste buds with some sweet indulgence at the dessert station. A slice of Ohaina Cake, Mango Sorbet, Strawberry Ice cream, Kakanin, and Halu-halo end the buffet experience.

If you’re adventurous with your palate and love to indulge in different cuisines and flavors, Cafe Ilang-Ilang at The Manila Hotel lets you become an adventurer.

7/18/2023 10:02:00 PM

KPMG R. G. Manabat & Co., a prominent accounting and professional services firm in the Philippines, is set to host its acclaimed annual Innovation Summit at Fairmont Makati on July 20.

The Innovation Summit 2023, themed "MAKING IT HAPPEN: From Innovative Ideas to Execution," will feature two noteworthy events. Firstly, it will kick off the first Philippine leg of the KPMG Global Technology Innovator competition, showcasing groundbreaking technological advancements. Secondly, it will introduce KPMG in the Philippines' new Digital Government Center, aiming to foster digitalization efforts.

Quezon City Mayor Hon. Joy Belmonte will grace the occasion as the Keynote Speaker, where she will share her own aspirations and commitments to embracing digitization as a crucial decision-maker in the political sphere.

This year’s summit will have physical attendance of business leaders and technology experts supplemented by a livestream serving the summit’s growing online audience. This is a fresh change from the exclusively digital conferences that started in 2021 that continued in 2022, where KPMG bagged the Anvil Award for Special Event and Exhibit from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines. The prestigious Anvil is awarded to outstanding public relations programs, tools and practitioners after careful screening by a multi- sectoral jury of PR professionals in the country.

“Recognitions of such magnitude inspire us to keep doing our share in empowering fellow professionals because we know this triggers the beginning of great leaderships and boundless innovations," says KPMG in the Philippines' Chairman & CEO, Sharon G. Dayoan.

Paving the way, particularly for the many tech start-ups thriving in the country, KPMG in the Philippines will host its first-ever search for the country's tech start-up to represent the Philippines at the KPMG Global Tech Innovator Competition in Lisbon, Portugal.

Representing the Philippines and going head-to-head with tech start- ups from 26 countries around the globe, the Philippine country winner has the opportunity to elevate their ambitious tech goals and take the fulfillment of their vision to an entirely new level.

Prior to the presentation of the finalists’ businesses pitches and ideas, they will be given mentorship opportunities with industry titans to help them prepare for the competition. During the summit, the finalists will be judged by a panel of business leaders and decision- makers using the following criteria: innovation and disruption, market potential, customer adoption, marketing buzz, quality of the pitch and long-term potential.

The winner will enjoy the brand exposure and prestige that comes with the competition, along with the potential to secure funding from investors.

Yet another innovation, KPMG R.G Manabat and Co.’s Digital Government Center will be unveiled at this year's Innovation Summit. Aimed at guiding the national and local governments in their journeys toward digital transformation, the center will help civil workers create and strategize automation services and harness emerging technology so that they can provide citizens with efficient yet practical solutions. It will likewise be

a source of training and certifications for civil servants to upskill their proficiency in technology. Four hyper-specialized plenary sessions are underway at the KPMG Innovation Summit 2023.

Not really who won the contest and wasn't able to join the planned beverages mixing and cake creation competition.  During the lunch time we were only able to witness the cooking competition where they show off their cooking skills and compete against other talented individuals for a chance to win prizes and recognition.

Of course, no food and beverage fair would be complete without plenty of tasting opportunities. Exhibitors showcased their products, gave visitors the chance to sample a wide variety of delicious treats and drinks.

The event is co-presented by Baguio Oil, Masflex, La Germania, Tough Mama, and Global Pacific, five trusted names in the food and beverage industry; and in partnership with Let’s Cook, Pare!, Gree, Joe Kuan, Kahero, iMin, Donewell and kimstore.com. And the best part? Entrance to the fair is completely free, making it accessible to all SMEs and foodie enthusiasts.

Missed this? That's unfortunate  not learning, tasting, and connecting with other food and beverage enthusiasts. Happened last July 1, 2023, we've witnessed the Easy Brand Food and Beverage Fair.

Abby Clutario expresses a powerful rendition of Voltes V's “Chichi Wo Motomete”

Experience a nostalgic adventure with Abby Clutario, an indie artist with multiple talents, who has now joined AltG Records. She skillfully revives the timeless classic "Chichi Wo Motomete" from Voltes V, injecting it with fresh energy and vitality.Embark on a nostalgic journey as multi-hyphenated indie artist and now AltG Records artist Abby Clutario breathes new life into the timeless classic, "Chichi Wo Motomete" from Voltes V, under AltG Records.

"Chichi Wo Motomete" is a popular Japanese song that served as the closing theme for the anime series "Voltes V." The song was composed by Asei Kobayashi/Akira Aoi and performed by Ichiro Mizuki. It was first used in 1977 and quickly became an iconic anthem associated with the show. It translates to "Searching for Father" or "In Search of Father” which captures the spirit of the characters' unwavering dedication to their mission and the emotional longing they feel for their fathers. It has become an enduring symbol of the series and holds a special place in the hearts of fans, evoking nostalgia and a sense of heroism.

Abby expressed her gratitude to AltG Records and GMA Music for entrusting her with the revival of the song, “So far ito ang first Japanese song na na-perform ko ever. In a way dream come true siya dahil nabigyan ako ng chance na tugtugin ito sa mas maraming audience. So I’m very overwhelmed and of course grateful to AltG Records at sa GMA Music sa opportunity na ito. I’m very happy.”

In this captivating revival, she pays homage to the original composition, infusing it with a modern flair and soulful energy that resonates with both loyal fans and a new generation of listeners.

“Dahil ito ay galing sa aking kabataan at pinapakinggan ko na, kahit papaano ‘yung melody nito ay alam ko na rin. So all I have to do is to re-learn the song at kinailangan ko ito ibagay sa aking boses. As for the arrangement, inaral ko ito using a Chapman Stick kasi ‘yung chords niya ay iba so kailangan ko siyang i-arrange. Inaral ko rin ‘yung language para at least maging kadikit at ma-justify naman. Sa aking version na irerelease under ALTG Records, meron lang kaunting twist doon sa original. Meron pa kayong ibang elemento na maririnig na magsasabuhay ng kanta,” Abby shared.

Although Abby admitted that giving a new flavor to a Japanese song is quite challenging, she still managed to embrace the essence of the original composition while infusing it with a Filipino touch. “‘Yung language talaga yung isa sa challenge kasi ayaw ko siyang magtunog slang sa Japanese or may accent. Hindi rin ako naglagay ng Tagalog lyrics dito but I guess masasabi kong mala-Pinoy ang arrangement in the sense na alam mo naman mahilig tayo sa mga ballad, love songs, so parang ‘yun ‘yung areglo na ginawa ko. So toned-down siya gamit ang Chapman Stick. Para ka lang hinaharana ng isang instrumento so ‘yun na siguro yung masasabi kong pagka-Filipino feel niya,” she says.

Whether you grew up watching the adventures of the Voltes Team or are discovering their heroic tale for the first time in Voltes V: Legacy, Abby's heartfelt performance will transport you to a realm where courage, determination, and the pursuit of justice intertwine.

What's interesting is that this release, the "Chichi Wo Motomete" already debuted at #4 on iTunes PH's Top 100 Songs. Now we can assume that more people love to reminisce childhood life.

Prepare to be captivated by the revitalized magic of Abby Clutario’s "Chichi Wo Motomete," now available on all digital streaming platforms worldwide.
