6:35:00 AM

The gathering of influential persons in the industry, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) is inviting public relations, communication, marketing, and advertising students all over the country to learn more about decoding the content we consume and preparing in the journey to PR for Good through an informative virtual adventure to the different stages of the content journey in the PRSP Students’ PR Con 2021.

The PRSP Students’ PR Con 2021 is the first-ever virtual, interactive, and nationwide edition of the Students’ PR Congress, the organization’s annual event for students to learn more about the public relations industry from leading practitioners in the field. With the theme “Decoding Content: The Journey to PR for Good”, this year’s Students’ PR Con aims to help participants navigate the new media landscape and tackle the three different stages of the content journey, which are: (1) Capture and Consume, (2) Curate and Converse, and (3) Create and Care.

The first segment, Capture and Consume, aims to address how we contextualize the content that we come across in everyday life to mindfully capture and consume information from different media platforms. The second segment, Curate and Converse, will discuss curating content from reliable sources and starting conscientious and fruitful conversations about topics that matter as a way to fight misinformation and become responsible communicators. The third and final segment, Create and Care, collates all the learnings gained from the previous segments by talking about why creating our own PR for good can show that we care, not only to communicate our messages for self-serving purposes, but to push forward ideas, advocacies and causes that benefit society.

Ferdinand Bondoy, Chairman of PRSP Students’ PR Con and Grand Prix 2021, Board Trustee of PRSP and Regional Integration & Chief Executive Director of COMCO Southeast Asia said, “With shifts in mainstream media and social channels and the emergence of game-changing digital platforms rapidly affecting the behavior of various publics, we could say that the PR landscape has also drastically changed. And with this change, our next gen practitioners must be well-equipped with the necessary new knowledge as they eventually enter the field and the workforce. And PRSP is bringing this groundbreaking virtual conference to Filipino students from all over the country to serve as one of the biggest venues available for them to gear up for the challenge.”

Joining the PRSP Students' PR Con 2021 are thought leaders and renowned professionals from the communications industry who are set to share their expertise as speakers for the online event. For the Capture and Consume segment, Lynda Jumilla-Abalos of ABS-CBN News Digital will tackle “The News and Information Media” while Peach Natividad of Google, Neil Trinidad of Lazada, and Toff Rada of Tiktok will talk about “Social Media and the Emerging Platforms”.

The Curate and Converse segment will include Yvonne Chua of Vera Files and Luz Rimban of Asian Center for Journalism to discuss “Dissecting Fake News, Trolling, Propaganda and Demolition”, and Dr. Randy Dellosa of Pinoy Big Brother and Carlo Ople of PLDT and Unbox for “Being Digitally Ready and Responsible”. Finally, joining our “Create and Care” segment will be Caroline Veronilla of World Vision, Anna Meloto-Wilk of Human Nature and Cat Trivino of MindNation for the “Forwarding Your Advocacy and Giving Voice for Social Good” discussion. Next set of speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Norman Agatep, President of PRSP and President and Managing Director of Grupo Agatep shared, “Students of Communication have always been a significant sector that the PRSP has been reaching out to over the years. As such, we have designed pillar programs that aim to supplement their classroom learning, fuel their interest in public relations, and ignite their desire to pursue careers in our industry, This year's PR Con will give all participants an exclusive glimpse of what their lives as PR professionals could be like.”

5 Different Opinions/Reasons Why Married People Fall In Love for the Second Time To Another Person

11:20:00 PM

Our heart is placed in a strategic location to entirely manage the flow of blood and oxygen for the whole body. It is not placed above the brain because it is not created to govern but to manage, to express, and to love. Brain is above the heart to oversee and provide logical reasoning for the heart. A balance checker whether the heart is functioning accordingly. That is how humans are created.

Though most people find true love or their first love, there are still circumstances in life that shakes the ground. Testing the stability of the foundation, of which many committed people fails. Of course there are certain factors why the foundation of love crumbles and falls. And that's what I'm about to share since Anne Curtis and Marco Gumabao will be showing their unwanted love affair genre movie entitled "JUST A STRANGER". It will be shown on August 21, a holiday to give everyone a chance to watch the movie alone or with their loved ones.

So, why do married people fall in love for the second time to a different person? Well, no one really know the exact facts why but what I can share is based on different stories that usually see on TV, newspaper and movies, all about illicit affairs.

1. The attention. Probably attention is one of the main reason why some people fall out of love and fall in love to another person. Once a person is deprived of attention he or she will try to find it somebody else.

2. The thrill. Sometimes when monotony strikes there's this thrill seeking mood of every individual. People want something new and for this instance, if the partner isn't playful or interesting anymore that is why an individual will go for the exciting and thrilling ones.

3. The situation. Often, people who is always present in a situation would eventually make an impact to the point of being needed. This goes to either parties.

4. Peer pressure. Not really aware if this also happens to the ladies that individuals are being pressured by peers to do something that leads to an affair and later on falling for it.

5. The heart. Feelings are sometimes irrational that they tend to complicate things. One isn't enough to satisfy or suppressed the feeling.

Do you have any thoughts or ideas that you can share about this topic? If you do have one, kindly comment your response.

The movie of Anne Curtis and Marco Gumabao is an intimate romantic drama that is about the story of Mae Pimentel played by Anne Curtis, who's in her mid-30s with an illness called Fibromyalgia and married to Phil portrayed by Edu Manzano who's a businessman who doesn't seem to care much for Mae. Mae is not wanting material things and she can go on a leisure trip anywhere she wants. On this particular event in a City of Lisbon, Portugal where she meets Jericho "Jekjek" Esguerra (played by Marco Gumabao). A 19-year-old son of a Philippine Ambassador. A guy oozing with sex appeal and charming personality but playful like a child.

The trailer of the movie already gives a hint of how the story goes with the numerous steamy scenes between Anne and Marco, but director Laxamana points out that the film was not created to romanticize illicit affair. The movie is more on the personal stories of the characters and to show the reasons behind their actions. Will they stick to their principle "Not your friend. Not your lover. Just a stranger."

"Just A Stranger" is directed by Jason Paul Laxamana under Viva Films. Opens in different cinemas nationwide on August 21, 2019.

PressCon of the PRAYBEYT BENJAMIN

4:57:00 AM

Last September 28, 2011, after the surging winds and rain of Typhoon Pedring, we were able to attend the Press Conference of Vice Ganda’s newest and up-coming movie entitled PRAYBEYT BENJAMIN. The theme of the press conference was green and army.

It was a star studded press conference and also well formed cast by generation. This is what we have noticed there were the generation of the bachelor - Kean Cipriano and Carlos Agassi, the generation of bachelorette - Vice Ganda, the generation of young parents - Nikki Valdez and DJ Durano, the generation of matured parents - Malou De Guzman, and the last generation, the generation of the senior citizen – the honorable Director Eddie Garcia. I think Direk Wenn have created a cast of great actors of all generations to bring one heck of a good movie.

During the press conference there were many parts of the movie that were given emphasis. One of them is the acceptance issue not only in the gender issue but more precisely as an individual. There were also admission, like in the famous phrase “the truth shall set you free” and I think those who have admitted some events in their life surely set themselves free. So mainly the movie is not just laughs but it features pigments of reality, reality that is actually happening in our society.

As we all know Vice Ganda has become a very popular gay icon, from being a stand-up comedian up to becoming a product endorser, a host and a performer. Vice Ganda has been shining very bright and now it will shine much brighter with his latest upcoming movie “PRAYBEYT BEJAMIN”.

In this movie Vice plays the role of Bejamin Santos whose family has a long tradition of serving in the military. In fact, the movie’s stunning opening traces the roots of the Santos’ military service, from the days of Lapu-lapu and the Katipunan, up to the current times.

Conflict ensues when Lolo Benjamin which was played by Eddie Garcia fins out that his grandson (Vice) cannot continue the tradition because he is gay.

But when Lolo Benjamin is captured by terrorists, the grandson enters the military and musters all his masculine strength to save his dear grandfather, and the rest of the war-torn country as well.

Helping Praybeyt Benjamin in his quest are the member of a misfit platoon played by, among others, Derek Ramsay, DJ Durano, Vandolph, Jimmy Santos, Eddie Garcia, Dennis Padilla, Carlos Agassi, malouDe Guzman, Tutti Caringal, Kean Cipriano and Nikki Valdez.

This movie is the result of Vice’s good collaboration with the blockbuster director Wenn Deramas.

Be thrilled and be awed by Vice Ganda when “PRAYBEYT BENJAMIN’ opens in theaters nationwide on Oct. 12!
