4 Heart-wrenching Music Videos Guaranteed Tof Bring Out The "Feels"

5:27:00 PM

Why do we love music? Well, there are many reasons and sometimes these are emotions pouring out of our souls and since the beginning of our love for music, there's always that few songs that mark or lingers in our ears. Of course, OPM does it well.

OPM has confidently thrived not only through timeless hits that resonate with listeners here and abroad, but also because it has become even more affecting due to the complementary visuals of music videos.

As such, here are some of the latest music videos from ABS-CBN Music that will either make you want to hug a pillow or cry your eyes out:

1. “Maaari Ba” by Wilbert Ross
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prh0RYJEm6Q
“It’s Showtime’s” mainstay Hashtag Wilbert Ross proves his singing talent in his song “Maaari Ba.” The singer’s painful plea for an ex-lover to confront him about their relationship’s collapse is perfectly captured in its music video, which is starred on by Wilbert himself and YouTube vlogger Zeinab Harake. Its release last week hit the number one spot on YouTube Philippines’ Trending Videos chart, garnering 4.4 million views as of writing.

2. “Kung ‘Di Na Ako” by Agsunta
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSCJh0GvFEs
Rising OPM band Agsunta delivers another heart-wrenching message in their latest single “Kung ‘Di Na Ako,” which talks about the process of giving up on a lover who has already fallen in love with somebody else. The music video adds an even more somber tone to the track, which shows the bittersweet reunion of a couple with a painful past as they reconnect many years after their break-up.

3. “Tama Na” by Cane City
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdqWABez5SM
Cane City, an alternative rock band under DNA Music, punches a hard-hitting jab in the heart through their latest song “Tama Na.” The ballad tackles the excruciating decision that lovers make to conclude their relationship, which was seamlessly interpreted in the music video by presenting a couple who broke up and are with other people already but seem to still be in love with each other.

4. “Diyan Ba Sa Langit” by Morissette and Jason Dy
The powerful vocalists’ much-awaited collaboration is surely a treat from heaven, as they show off their impressive pipes by belting out the song’s poignant lyrics. Although the record voices doubts on a love broken by death, it also subtly drops a little hope for when the couple gets to meet again. Watch out for the release of “Diyan Ba Sa Langit’s” music video soon, but in the meantime, its teaser can be watched here.

6:59:00 AM

One of the big companies running in the Philippines, Transcom Worldwide Philippines, raves their more than 2,000 employees to a night of good Pinoy music. Transcom Worldwide Philippines’ Manila sites gathered at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig City last September 14, 2019 to celebrate camaraderie and togetherness in the second year of the company’s MusicFest dubbed as Tunog Transcom Tayo.

It's a night of more than the booze but of talent and the love for music. These number of employees sung and enjoyed the night. It's not always working, so for this time, it's about having their night off from work and of course the cause.

The event was graced by live performances from various well-loved Filipino musicians and bands such as Ebe Dancel, Mayonnaise, Chiquerella, Sponge Cola, Where’s Ramona, This Band, Ben&Ben, and Aegis.

"As we've been transforming our business in recent years, creating a positive culture where our folks can express themselves has been and continues to be a key focus. Tunog Transcom Tayo, our annual MusicFest, is just one building block in the foundation that is Transcom Tayo and sits alongside our annual CSR activities, our support for the LGBTQ community and our HIV & AIDS awareness campaign in conjunction with The Red Whistle,” said Mark Lyndsell, Transcom’s CEO for the Global English Region.

This is also the second year that a Karaoke-inspired singing contest which Transcom coworkers participate in was incorporated in the music event.

"Our awesome multi-talented coworkers are placed at the heart of Tunog Transcom Tayo and have been auditioning for months as part of our very own Viral Voice competition. Filipinos are known across the globe for their musicality and singing abilities and this is no exception here at Transcom where our finalists will be showing off their talent alongside bands such as Sponge Cola, Ben&Ben, and Aegis,” Lyndsell further shared.

Tunog Transcom Tayo is sponsored by Seda Hotel, Caronia, Jergens, and Liese.

Sandiwa Releases Debut Single 'Gunita'

11:02:00 PM

OPM isn't dead, it's just evolving! Well, that's what I thought after attending the Press Conference and Launch Event of the Debut Single of SANDIWA.

SANDIWA, which means iisang diwa is bringing their music to the main stream under Ivory Music and Video and their debut single 'Gunita' is now out to different digital stores and music download platforms. According to them "... Kami ay pinag-isa para sa iisang layunin na ihatid ang tunay na 'Pag-ibig' gamit ang musika. Maghatid ng pag-asa at gawing obra ang mga luha na nagsilbing inspirasyon sa awitin ng ating puso."

This era's music is just evolving and SANDIWA is just one proof that OPM is moving. And also there are other rising bands that would definitely bring you good entertaining music.

SANDIWA'S Gunita, their debut single, comes with heart-wrenching lyrics and smooth rhythms. This song, that is released last March 22, 2019, will have you head-bobbing while reminiscing yesterday's beautiful love. It seems that SANDIWA is in for more sawi or hugot music to listen to. According to them they consider their music genre as cenimatic, that's perhaps due to love aches and hugot themes that is great for movies.

The band is composed of Samuel Mopal, Yeoj Rivera, Jeremiah Torda, Harold Tabuno and Alex Rale, SANDIWA is managed by Ms. Thea Pollisco, under the same umbrella as renowned OPM artist Gloc-9 and newest hiphop hitmaker Shanti Dope.

With that these two great artists are present during the Gunita Single Launch Event of SANDIWA last April 10, 2019, at Historia Boutique and Bar. Special guests include are Mr. Joey Ayala, Ms. Cookie Chua, Room for Cielo and Sons of NOA.

If you want to know more of the band visit Kwento Ni Toto's 5K Challenge for something interesting.

The SOLABROS.COM, New Band, Same Blood, Children of Jerome Abalos

1:56:00 AM

New breed, new band but same blood, these are Jerome Abalos children, the SOLABROS.COM. Brothers who are born and raised in the urban neighborhood of Mandaluyong City, Philippines. In case you forgot who Jerome Abalos is, he is just one of the many multi-talented and multi-awarded musician in the country and he is well known for the monster hit song "Larawang Kupas".  And for those who favors the thrash metal sound, he is the co-founder and frontman of the band "Death By Stereo" and the progressive rock band "Majesty."

Jerome Abalos released 3 solo albums and 2 studio albums with his band. Death by Stereo’s self titled debut album was certified gold record while his solo self-titled debut album featuring the monster hit song, LARAWANG KUPAS, was a certified platinum.

Nurtured by music from the moment they were conceived, Sean, Zack, and Shane grew up with the melodic sound of the keyboards, the ripping sound of heavy metal guitar solos, and the thunder-like beat of drums and percussions. Raised and mentored by a multi-talented, multi genre musical artist of a father and fueled by their mutual interest in rock and roll, heavy metal, progressive rock, and alternative rock,Solabros.com can be considered as one of the rising stars in the Philippines, be it local or in international music scene.

The band was formed in 2015 by singer, songwriter, and keyboard player Sean Abalos and his younger brother, lead guitarist and singer Zachary Jeymz. From the moment Sean and Zack held their instruments and started playing, it was clear that they had a future in the local and international music scene. The band was soon joined by the band’s drummer Shane Steven, the youngest of the Abalos brothers, who gave the band his powerful Lars Ulrich-like drumming style. “Initially, we just wanted to be a band,” recalled Sean. “But when Shane officially joined us and started making all those power beats and double basses, our paradigm shifted and our aspiration changed overnight. We now wanted, not just to be any band, we now wanted to be among the best bands locally and overseas.”

Though with different personalities, Sean, Zack, and Shane’s talents blended and clicked. In 2016, Solabros.com joined their first “Battle of the Bands,” their first public appearance. Since then, the trio had regular gigs in several bars in Manila and Luzon.
Sean Francis Abalos (vocals, keyboards) He is currently finishing his bachelor’s degree at Jose Rizal University in Mandaluyong City. After harnessing his God-given singing talent, Sean was trained on keyboards and has been loving his new skill ever since.
Shane Steven Abalos (drums, vocals) the youngest of the Abalos brothers. At 14 years old, Shane is currently a freshman in high school. With his passion for drums and percussion, Shane was initially trained to play the drums by his father. Shane focused with his training and has dramatically improved his drums and vocals skills. At only 14 years old and only a year of playing, Shane can now be considered a drummer par excellence.
Zachary Jeymz Abalos (guitars, vocals) He was exposed to musical at a very young age. He is a currently in junior high school. With the encouragement of his dad, Zack trained himself to play the guitar, starting with acoustic, he leveled up almost overnight and has since mastered the electric guitar. At only 16 years old, and only a year of playing, Zack has become a guitar phenom. His skills were way beyond his years.
