Pasta Platter of Angel's Pizza, A Good Treat for Everyone

3:12:00 AM

Two or more is already a big number and since our family is just in a mid size, having some few platters is great for our dinner. Most of the time if want to just enjoy eating without the staple food, which is rice, we always manage to find the comfort of pasta. We love pasta and I think our kids get it from me. My wife, who loves to cook, would always find time to prepare pasta dishes but of course there are times that she just wanted to rest. So, there's always a restaurant to turn to. Glad that Angel's Pizza offers a variety of pasta with their Pasta Platter.

Pasta Platter from Angel's Pizza offers three variety of pasta dish; Mac and Cheese Platter, Carbonara Platter and Spaghetti Platter. good for 4 to 5 person per serving.
MAC AND CHEESE PLATTER
CARBONARA PLATTER
SPAGHETTI PLATTER
A week ago, my family was craving for pasta. Yes, and the only branch closest to our place was at Fairview. We were settled to go out for dinner that time but nature got a plan of their own and poured a really heavy rain fall. We couldn't get out. So, we decided to have it delivered. We called the branch and ordered their Pasta Platter plus some pizza and other dish that our kids love.

All the pasta platters comes with their signature bread stick that I like eating together with the pasta. Aside from the pasta that we ordered, pizza is also a good match our my kids love pizza that much.

So, if you want to skip the hassle of cooking, well, there's Angel's Pizza to call to. Just contact them and tell what you want to order and they'll deliver it. Just be sure that there's one that is near to your place. Great for family gatherings and barkada nights.

Out Of This World Pizza, The Pizza Hut's CheeseBurger Pizza

9:17:00 PM

The most common choices when having a fast filler for cravings, pizza and burger!  It's always a decision whether to go on pizza or munch on a the burger.  So Pizza Hut was able to revolutionize the need and made an ultimate solution.  The Cheeseburger Pizza, a combination of the familiar and well loved juicy taste of cheeseburger and the cheesey overload appeal of Pizza Hut's pizza.   So does the perennial problem solved or what.

The new Cheeseburger Pizza took theatrical center stage at the recent block screening of Star Trek: Into Darkness which was held at the Gateway Cinema, Gateway Mall Areneta Center.  This new pizza shape and flavor just match up with the movie Star Trek, alien-shaped pizza and alien space ship of Star Trek.  During the block screening celebrity guests and media from all platforms were exclusively treated to sample the juicy cheeseburgers nestled in pockets of golden crust around their favorite Pizza Hut pizza. In which by the Kwento Ni Toto is present and was filled with the cheesy and burger flavor of the pizza.  Everyone was delighted by the pizza's "space-ship" looking shape with its 8 edges bulging with luscious burger patties.  This certainly added up to the extremely appetizing appeal of the pizza at a glance.

Great Night At Sbarro

11:33:00 AM

It was Tuesday at exactly 5 pm, I rush out of the office and went straight to the bus terminal.  I think the distance is about 30 minutes of travel time.  It was a race against time.  I need to be there at the event at 6:30 pm.

I hop in on the first bus that arrived.  I thought I could be there on time, unfortunately, the bus didn't run to what I have expected.  It runs like a tour bus.  Now I'm doomed I don't know if I will make it.
To my disappointment I didn't make it on time but good enough I was able to be there together with my wife.

Hungry with the travel, I and my wife settled down and ate but of course I need to take pictures first before anything else.  I took a few shots and went to eating again.  Not really sure if this is my second or third time to eat Sbarro dishes but as what I can remember I really loved their pastas, especially the baked ones.   Since I love pasta I started my meal with the Baked Ziti, I liked it very much how they made it so creamy with just the right amount of flavor in it.  Then followed by the pizza with its tasty thin crust and toppings. Though the set of dishes are flavourful I would still stick to my favourite, the Baked Ziti.

While having those yummy and tasty treats from Sbarro, Mr. Fred Salvador, Sr. Vice-President for Operations of Supersalute Food Corporation (SFC), the Philipine Franchise of Sbarro, Inc. joined us and made some chit chat with us.  He even asked about what we can say about the food and how was it.  He even disclose that all of their foods are freshly made.  He also added that they make their food.  Another secret that he shared to us is that most of their staff rose from the ranks, so clearly every Sbarro employee knows the ins and outs of Sbarro operations.

Of course an event would not be complete without some good old raffle.  Luckily I get to bag the first draw with a Php2,000 worth of Gift Certificates.  Not bad for zooming straight from Pampanga.  Hahaha!  The grand prize bagged by JayL and it was an iPad 2.  Lucky guy!  It was really a great event because no one went home empty handed.  Thank you Sbarro!

A little History about Sbarro....
In 1956, Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro left Naples to migrate to the United States. Of course, their Italian roots were never far behind. Along with their three sons, Joseph, Mario and Anthony, they soon opened a salumeria, an Italian delicatessen in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, that was an exceptional showcase of authentic and fresh Italian fare, from freshly made mozzarella and homemade sausages, to traditional Italian delicacies and desserts, all based on the Sbarro family recipes.

Carmela Sbarro

As they branched out to more locations and grew into delivery for family celebrations in 1967, Carmela "Mama" Sbarro gave a new twist to the business: a restaurant with a pizza area in full view of customers and a fast moving self-service style, with the same Sbarro family tradition of delicious, authentic Italian food. The modern day Sbarro was born.

In 1972, Pampanga native Jaime "Jimmy" Salvador joined the Sbarro business. Jimmy worked alongside the original founders and their sons, living and breathing the family brand. He worked in operations as a store manager, then ran the corporate commissary in Brooklyn, and eventually served as Sbarro’s first Area Manager.

Then, in 1989, after 17 years of living in New York and working with the Sbarro family, Jimmy returned to the Philippines — carrying the Sbarro brand with him. Along with Ma. Teresa Rodriguez and her family, he opened the first Sbarro Philippines branch at the Annex in SM North Edsa in 1990 — the first Sbarro in all of Asia. Years later, Sbarro Philippines expanded to the Visayas, thanks to a partnership with Gerardo Luzuriaga and Marcelino Florete, Jr.

And so today, Sbarro Philippines continues to satisfy the cravings of Filipinos with 25 branches nationwide. And through all these years, Jaime Salvador – together with his family – ensures that Mama Sbarro’s legacy remains unchanged: the commitment to good food, fresh ingredients, excellent service and great value for money.

So what is Sbarro’s recipe for success? Over forty years later and with over 1,000 outlets worldwide, the secret remains the same. All across our values, traditions and recipes – It’s all about family.

PIZZA HUT PUSHES FOR JUAN TIME IN PRE-NEW YEAR COUNTDOWN

3:07:00 AM

Last night was an on time event that made most of the by-standers, viewers, media and guests synchronize their timepiece with the Philippine Standard Time as Pizza Hut pushes for Juan Time in celebration of the coming New Year.   Of course yours truly did the synchronization as well so prayerfully this coming year there will be no more tardiness for me.

The Juan Time Pre-New Year Countdown was initiated by Pizza Hut with the partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Discovery Channel.  The synchronization was led by Pizza Hut's Brand Ambassadress' Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj viewing the Philippine Standard Time on a giant timepiece of Timex.   After the synchronization, the much awaited countdown for the fireworks commenced and everyone enjoyed the fireworks display.

The JUAN TIME encourages everyone to set their timepieces to Philippine Standard Time you can visit www.pizzahut.com.ph or the DOST site www.dost.gov.ph.   Let's all set our time JUAN TIME!

Read more about Pizza Hut's Juan Time

To unite the 7,100 islands in one time.

This was the main objective of the recent pre-New Year countdown at the Araneta Center launched by Pizza Hut with beauty queens Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup.

A day before the fireworks erupted in the metro to usher in 2012, Pizza Hut, together with partners Discovery Channel and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) emphasized the need for Juan Time, the new and more productive concept of Filipino time that espouses punctuality. The campaign aims to synchronize all timepieces in the country’s more than 7,000 islands to Philippine Standard Time. DOST’s “Juan Time” (a word play on one time and Juan), shows that keeping to the Philippine Standard Time prevents the difficulties of having unsynchronized and confusing time.

Established decades ago, Philippine Standard Time is set by DOST’s Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the country’s official timekeeper since 1978.

“Juan Time” is an advocacy that is very much in line with Pizza Hut’s own “Hate Late” campaign that focuses on being on time, all the time. This is the reason why Pizza Hut deliveries are always on hot on the dot, reaching a near perfect 99.8% of on time deliveries. With this, Pizza Hut has helped reverse the previous negative connotation of Filipino Time and has upgraded this to “Juan Time” which is synonymous with punctuality and productivity.

Even international beauty queens appreciate the value of being on time in their lives.

Venus Raj says, “Pizza Hut is Philippine Standard Time or Juan Time. Dapat iisa lang ang reference natin ng oras para lagi tayong on time. If we all have the same time, there is a better chance for us to be punctual in our commitments.” Shamcey Supsup on the other hand enthuses, “Time is a resource that is very important but oftentimes overlooked. In order to reach our personal and professional goals in the coming year, we have to be more conscious of our time and to use it productively. One minute wasted is one minute gone forever.”

The “Juan Time” advocacy in Pizza Hut is not a one-day affair. On the contrary, this is targeted at being a continuing campaign among Filipino people to be always on time.

The pre-New Year countdown and synchronization of timepieces took the mold of a New Year’s party with simultaneous performances of chorales, marching bands, drum beaters and dancing delivery rider performances. The festivities started with the Magical Parade of Lights that circled the Araneta Center. After this, Venus and Shamcey led the countdown to setting everyone’s watches in sync with Philippine Standard Time. This was followed by much fanfare, dancing and a spectacular fireworks display.

Pizza Hut’s Marketing Manager Raymund Nobleza says, “we hope that Juan Time encourages all Filipinos to junk the habit of being late and making excuses for this. As we embark on a brand new year, we wish champion this mindset of being on time so that we all have a better chance of reaching our goals in the coming year.” Nobleza also assures Pizza Hut customers, “you can be sure that Juan Time is Pizza Hut Time and that we will always be hot on the dot.”

Pizza Hut is home to the country’s Pinaka-Pizza, serving awesome food with fast and friendly service. For more awesome dishes, check out Pizza Hut’s website at www.pizzahut.com.ph , dial 911-1111 for deliveries in Metro Manila or be a fan of Pizza Hut on Facebook.
