FWD and Humanity & Inclusion Partnered Together in Helping People with Disabilities in Asia to Find Employment

10/22/2018 05:13:00 PM

One of the things that I learned in my previous job is that there should always be equal opportunity to everyone, no matter what is your race, status, or abilities. Everyone must be given a chance to prove that too can do things for the company and for the community.  That is why I am glad when I was given a chance to be part of the event conducted by FWD Life Insurance, the most exciting insurance brand in the country, and Humanity & Inclusion (this is formerly known as Handicap International), an independent international aid organization, which is the celebration of the beginning of Forward Together project. It aims to help young people with disabilities find employment opportunities in the Philippines and beyond.

It is an event created to help media and bloggers (me included)  understand people with disabilities through an interactive visual language activity, and escape room challenge (which unfortunately I wasn't able to join).

Through the regional partnership initially announced by the insurer in the first half of 2018, both organizations will work towards advocating equal opportunities and empowering people with disabilities in Asia. With FWD Group investing USD 1million, the Forward Together project will train at least 380 youth with disabilities in the Philippines and Indonesia and help them secure sustainable employment or business opportunities.

“FWD Life Philippines aims to end the stigma that disability corresponds to inability,” FWD Life Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Grimes said. “Through our partnership with Humanity & Inclusion, we hope to provide a platform for people with disabilities to showcase their strengths and abilities. We want to encourage everyone to help create a future with a difference for people with disabilities with opportunities to become valuable and equal contributors to the community.”

“Developing countries are encouraged to invest in youth, but unfortunately, young people with disabilities are usually overlooked in employment and entrepreneurship opportunities,” said Bryan Andrew Marsalis, Humanity & Inclusion Regional Operation Coordinator. “That is why we are very delighted to have such strong support from FWD Group in our advocacy of improving the lives of youth with disabilities. Through this project, we will work with selected employers – including FWD Group – across the two target countries to improve their capacity to employ youth with disabilities.”

“At FWD, we are committed to promoting social inclusion and active participation of persons with disabilities, and are very excited to kick start our work with Humanity & Inclusion,” said FWD Life Philippines Head of Marketing and Community Care Country Lead Roche Vandenberghe. “With the Forward Together project, we are enabling businesses and organizations such as ours to become catalysts for quality job creation.”

How great is your love? Well, we all want that great one in our life and we're all wishing to have it at the right time. A great love in this lifetime with whom we hope to spend the rest of our lives with.

But are we willing to make the sacrifices and go through all the pain to attain it and keep it?

Is our One Great Love provided by destiny or do we get to choose?

This is the premise of the upcoming movie One Great Love, produced by Regal Entertainment, Inc. and an official entry to the upcoming 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Every year, Regal Entertainment, Inc., creates an entry/entries to the annual film festival to adhere to its commitment in bringing quality entertainment for moviegoers.

This Christmas, the film production outfit is bringing together a stellar cast from two major TV networks to breathe life to one great movie, entitled One Great Love.

Top-billed by celebrity A-listers Dennis Trillo, JC de Vera, and Kim Chiu, the romance drama film, a hugot - bangon film that tackles a subject that everybody is highly familiar with and which we can all relate to: love and relationships.

The story tackles about love, which remains to be one of the greatest mysteries up to this day. Falling in love with someone is one thing, but staying in love with that person is another story. Kim shows a different side of her in this movie. Mainly known for tackling romantic-comedy roles in movies, Kim goes out of her comfort zone and portrays another mature character. The bubbly bungisngis Kim Chiu will not be seen in Zyra, her character in the movie. She is expected to have love scenes in this film.

ABS-CBN premier artist Kim Chiu portrays the role of Zyra Paez, a woman fortunate enough to know and be with her one great love.

JC portrays the role of Carl Mauricio. Carl’s turbulent past has left a scarred, and in the process, keeps hurting the woman who did nothing but love him over anything else.

Kapuso dramatic actor Dennis is Dr. Ian Arcano, a heart doctor who firmly believes in the sanctity of family and keeping it that way. Ian is a dependable friend to Zyra, but then eventually falls in love with her.

The lives of Zyra, Carl, and Ian are intertwined with one another in a story that reveals to us that like every human being, we all seek for love, but our views about it differ. "Magagaling lahat dito umarte. Baka makakuha sila ng awards. Totoong magagaling. Maganda ang pelikula para sa pasko. One Great Movie to watch out for," says matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde.

The movie helps us understand ourselves through the characters: are you the type to cling to someone you love no matter what or are you willing to let it go for someone you love?

The film also stars Eric Quizon portraying Dante Paez, Zyra’s loving father, who never got over of his One Great Love, discovers that he deserves a second chance at love. Nina Dolino as Annie Paez, Dante’s second wife, who is a firm believer that One Great Love exists.

Miles Ocampo is Jemi Paez, sister of Zyra and who is mature for her age. She is a practical thinker, who challenges Zyra’s view about love.

Marlo Mortel is Bryan Gomez, a loving free-spirited guy who falls in love with Jemi.

Maine Mendoza Rumored to Have Changed

10/13/2018 12:23:00 AM

Is it true that this generations Phenomenal Star, Maine Mendoza has been rumored to have changed? Well as of now the rumored change that we have heard is her recent photoshoot of another product endorsement. It has made fans and followers talk about it. Her new endorsement shoot was leaked online and her fans and followers who's always on look of what's new with her quickly grab the opportunity. She was spotted at what appears to be the pictorial shoot for Maxi-Peel and word has it, she's the new endorser of their latest product called Maxi-Peel ZERO.

Here's what we know: Word has it that she's looking for something more than just a basic cleanser, and she feels that her old brand simply doesn't make the cut anymore given her very hectic lifestyle. That's why she's making the switch. We've seen Maine endorse all sorts of products but over the years, she has become much more selective in terms of products and brands she works with, choosing only the ones that she truly believes in. This is why she's not just the top celebrity endorser in this country, she is also the most compelling. Just very recently, Maine was one of the winners at the 8th EdukCircle Awards bagging two awards, the Most Influential Female Endorser and the Best Female Variety Show Host.

Could this be the reason why Maine has been posting more selfies recently? Her supporters have been pointing out that her skin is to-die-for. Not a blemish in sight! And they are quick to add that her glowing skin is the perfect complement to her endearing personality.

Reese Dianson, a Maine loyalist, proudly exclaims: "Love namin si Maine because with her, what you see is what you get. Hindi mo siya mapipilit sa isang bagay na ayaw niya. Kaya kung magpapalit nga siya ng brand, yun talaga ang kanyang paniniwala. So kami, as true believers, lilipat din kami!"

For Becca Lizada who has followed Maine from the first time she made her debut at Eat Bulaga: "Si Maine, totoong tao yan. Walang halong kaplastikan. Bawat galaw at salita niya, yun siya sa real life! Kaya sa endorsements niya, choosy si Maine dahil pangalan niya ang nakataya!".

True or not, Maine's fans are buzzing with excitement and if it is, we're betting that just like any product she endorses, Maxi-Peel ZERO will soon be flying off the shelves, too.

Mile 22 is One Movie Filled with Action and Excitement

10/10/2018 04:02:00 PM

Kwento Ni Toto shares an interesting movie to everyone.  A film filled with action and excitement from VIVA International Pictures and MVP Entertainment, “Mile 22”, the fourth film collaboration between director Peter Berg and two-time Academy award nominee Mark Wahlberg after their blockbuster movies “Patriots Day”, “Deepwater Horizon” and the Oscar-nominated “Lone Survivor”.

“Mile 22” follows an elite paramilitary team called the “Ground Branch” who must travel 22 miles in 38 minutes to transport a foreign intelligence asset from an American Embassy in Southeast Asia to an airfield where he will be extracted and brought to the United States. This asset possesses highly classified information which could prevent terrorists from attacking and making at least six major cities uninhabitable.

As the Ground Branch risks life and limb in Southeast Asia, with the city’s military, police, and even street gangs closing in on them to reclaim the asset, its counterpart called “Overwatch” is tasked to aid them from thousands of miles away. Overwatch has mad hacking skills, monitoring the Ground Branch agents involved in the operation and communicating with them in real time to help keep them alive, in motion and on mission, as the action unfolds and the city quickly becomes a battleground.

Mark Wahlberg portrays James “Jimmy” Silva, the brilliant senior officer and leader of this small but lethal group. His brain is like a shark, always moving, always working, and seemingly incapable of slowing down; he is incapable of separating himself from his work. He feels a tremendous amount of responsibility to protect his country and his team, who know him to be direct, gruff, unpredictable, sarcastic, and all business.

When asked what drives Jimmy Silva, Wahlberg answers, “His upbringing, his youth…He has no family, no ties to anybody. (For him) the mission comes first, last, and in between. So, it’s a very unique kind of skill set that these guys have that are requirements for the job.”

Ronda Rousey (Furious 7, The Expendables 3) plays Samantha “Sam” Snow, a member of Silva’s group. This former UFC women’s bantamweight champion fighter excited shares, “They put the script in my lap and it was a completely fresh and different role for me, and I absolutely loved it. My role was not so dependent on being physical and fighting; it was like completely the opposite.” In this film, Rousey’s character exhibits extreme loyalty to her friends.”
Playing the foreign intelligence asset named Li Noor is Indonesian actor and martial arts master Iko Uwais, best known for his starring roles in the acclaimed action film series The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2. “Mile 22” marks his American film debut.

According to Peter Berg, “Iko is a big reason for me wanting to do this movie; he’s probably what started it.” The director reveals that he was mesmerized by Iko after watching The Raid. Iko has been referred to as “the next Bruce Lee”, and Berg began formulating plans for an action film to bring Uwais to a worldwide audience. That film became Mile 22.

Although “Mile 22” is a work of fiction, it’s standard practice for Berg to engage a group of consultants with real world experience – from Navy SEALs and Army Rangers, to CIA officers and computer experts – to assist the cast and filmmakers in creating accurate character depictions in terms of both actions and dialogue in any given situation. So viewers can expect a realistic and thrilling movie.

This intense and explosive film opens in cinemas on October 10.

10/08/2018 12:44:00 PM

When sizzling  and wild scenes are on the big screen everyone talks about it. Just like what is today's upcoming movie 'Wild and Free'. Just recently a bloggers conference was held at the 38 Valencia events place where Derrick Monasterio and Sanya Lopez bravely took the heated questions from the bloggers.

How wild and free? This is what most of the attendees have in mind and the one main question that Derrick and Sanya answered. Take note both of them replied truthfully.

Wild and Free have been the talk of the town after the release of its movie trailer. It has become controversial and netizens could not get enough of the very daring and bold scenes of Sanya and Derrick.

Netizens expressed their surprise and enthusiasm to see the two Kapuso stars tackle more mature roles. Mature to the point that you'll actually believe it is happening and realistic.Direk Connie Macatuno revealed that even Derrick's girl will get jealous.

Derrick admitted that he was reluctant during their first scene and he truthfully shared that he was getting affected in some parts of it but of course it's a work that need to be done professionally.  He also shared that "Nakakatakot kasi baka bigla akong masampal. Syempre ko, na-envision ko na agad yung magiging takbo ng scene,  kung ano yung mangyayari," explains the23-year-old actor. Though they were shooting love scenes, Derrick said he knew his limitations.

"Syempre faithful ka rin dapat kung ano yung hindi dapat gawin, kasi respeto kay Sanya. Just like Derrick, Sanya explained that she felt her heart in her throat when she did her first intimate scene with her leading man.

"Nandun po kasi talaga yung kaba, pero natutunan naming na maging open lang kami, na hindi ito bastos, may mga eksena na magiging totoo at madadala ka talaga kahit hindi naman sabihin, sayo na gawin mo. Ganito naman ang ginagawa ng totoong lovers. Sex is part of the relationship," explained by Sanya.

Sanya clarified that she did not feel violated doing the sensitive scenes. She is also thankful that Derrick is a true gentleman.

"Nakatulong po sa akin na gentleman po talaga si Derrick at close po talaga kami."

"Pag po kasi andon ka na sa set at nandoon ang respect sa isa't isa, magagawa n'yo ang bawat eksena nang maayos."

Wild and Free tells the story of Ellie, an independent and self-supporting woman, working as a part-time TNVS (transport network vehicle service) driver, picks up Jake (Derrick), a man from his past.

While on trip, the two reminisce their happy times, when they were still a couple.

Ellie and Jake met up three years before, while they were commuting.

They instantly hit it off and their attraction led to a relationship.

However, complications arise when Jack discovers that Ellie got a little secret, a huge impact in Jack's life.
