The action movie genre is just one of the many films that I grew up with and perhaps one of the interesting stories that I like is about conspiracies, elite force, and other things that bring adrenalin rush. For this particular movie, I was intrigue how the story goes. From Olympus to London and now to himself, the fall which happened in "Angel Has Fallen".

So, if you followed the story of Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), the US President's top guardian angel or precisely the Secret Service Agent, you'll definitely know what I'm writing about here. So, for you who have few info or no idea at all, will be filling you up some details about it. It started with the 'Olympus Has Fallen' then followed by 'London Has Fallen', which all had Mike Banning to continue secure the President even though everything around them has fallen.


This year's movie, this agent who is referred to as “the President’s top guardian angel” is going to get beat up yet again, the question is, how will Banning rise from this fall?

Angel Has Fallen is the third entry to the “Fallen” franchise. Mike Banning is selected by U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) to be the director of the Secret Service. But before he could assume his new appointment, Banning finds himself in a crucial position to protect the president as they are attacked by explosive drones.


The next thing he knows, he is already in the hospital, handcuffed and being charged with the attempted murder of President Trumbull. FBI Agent Thompson (Jada Pinkett-Smith) is convinced of Banning’s culpability because he is the only one in his team who survives the tragedy. Hellbent on proving his innocence and bringing the real culprit to justice, Banning escapes capture. As the FBI and his own agency are hot on his trail, Banning tracks down his father (Nick Nolte) to get his help.


Just like in all his previous battles, he must keep his family from harm, keep the president alive, and save the country from imminent danger. The big difference is, he is also fighting for his life.


Directed by Ric Roman Waugh (Snitch, Shot Caller), “Angel Has Fallen” offers non-stop action while taking the audience to what Butler describes as a “much deeper, darker journey” of Mike Banning. Reports have it that two other scripts had been scrapped in favor of this story, which is said to have been inspired by The Fugitive, The Bourne Identity, and Taken.

Butler said in an interview back in 2017, *I couldn’t even see a way to make a third (Fallen film), you know we’d joke about it ‘What, Tokyo? Hong Kong? What is it going to be!?’ …Until this idea came along and until Ric came along – now I’ve gone from not knowing what to do with it, to thinking this is going to be the best one.”

In the same interview, Butler shared that Waugh told him that he wanted to make a movie with him “that’ll be remembered for three generations”. In response to that, Butler said, “Well what about Has Fallen 3?”, and Waugh said, “That’s not what I was thinking!” Butler said to the reluctant director, ‘Read this script, it’s kind of like The Fugitive, take it and let’s put your spin on it’.


Fast forward to May 2019, Waugh posted the trailer of “Angel Has Fallen” on Twitter and wrote, “For years @GerardButler and I have been wanting to collaborate. Damn glad it was this one. It was definitely worth the wait!”

New ‘DO IT RIGHT!’ campaign calls on Filipinos to proudly show their support for RH and family planning More organizations, celebrities, and ordinary Filipinos encouraged to join, add their voices to the cause

A coalition of 11 organizations today launched a campaign urging Filipinos to show their support openly for family planning and reproductive health (RH), with the “DO IT RIGHT!” slogan and a distinctive hand sign.

Repeated opinion polls have shown that more than 70 percent of Filipinos support family planning and initiatives, such as the Responsible Parenthood and RH Law. “The ‘DO IT RIGHT!’ campaign is designed to encourage everyone to take those beliefs they already hold inside and share them out in the open, proudly, especially on social media like Facebook,” said co-organizer Benjamin de Leon, President of The Forum for Family Planning and Development. “By showing each other how many feel the same, in a positive, celebratory spirit, Filipinos can together free themselves of old inhibitions.”

The campaign will include a social-media blitz, festival events, as well as advertising in traditional media like billboards, print, and radio. It encourages couples and individuals to flash the Do It Right! hand sign in selfie posts or in public: Two fingers held up together -- representing the members of a couple – with a thumb in-between representing the contraceptive or safe-sex measures that strengthen their bond.

The coalition has set up a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DoItRightPH/) to serve as the focal point for the evolving campaign, as well as the hashtag #DoItRight. Initial members include DKT Philippines, the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), The Forum for Family Planning and Development, The Philippine Society for Responsible Parenthood, LoveYourself, RTI International, SheDecides Philippines, and all four professional associations for the country’s midwives.


At a press conference held in Makati City, they called on more like-minded organizations and individuals to throw their weight behind the campaign.

“This is wide open. We invite anyone who feels this topic is important -- companies, famous Filipinos, anyone -- to come on board,” said Hyam Asher Bolande, Chairman of the Board of DKT Philippines. Following the example of the #MeToo anti-sexual harassment movement that grew in North America as more and more women spoke up, the Do It Right! the campaign is designed to gather strength over time, he added.

Economists and public-health experts have long lamented the need for improved RH education and access to modern contraception in the Philippines, especially for the country’s poorest. Religious-based organizations have protested the RH Law in recent years, but the law prevailed against court challenges and is fully in force today. At the press conference, Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Undersecretary Juan Antonio Perez III hailed the launch of the ‘DO IT RIGHT!’ campaign, which he said comes at a crucial time when the government is also increasing its efforts to fully implement the law.

Nandy Senoc, FPOP Executive Director said, “It’s high time for society to finally put aside fears and embarrassment about this topic and declare openly – as the majority of Filipinos, together – that RH is OK, that it’s responsible.”

“When youth and women are empowered, there will be no teen pregnancies, no early marriages, no unwanted pregnancies or abortions. When women are well informed, the fight against poverty is already halfway won,” he added.

It's another late night concert but this time it's in Metrowalk's Music Hall in Ortigas Ave., Pasig City. A night of interesting music from relatively interesting singers - Kiel Alo, Carlo Mendoza, and LA Santos. A staged concert entitled "THREE's A COMPANY" under the musical direction of Mr. Butch Miraflor. Just a good dry night to experience songs, comedy and entertainment after a few days of rain and bed weather together with the trios family, friends, guests and fans.

I think this is the first time that these trio will be featured on my blog so it is just right to give a few details about them. Kiel Alo is a romantic balladeer who have been performing in the music industry for quite a number of years already and he has already stage his own concert "It's My Turn". Carlo Mendoza is a rising star in the music industry, which have been seen performed in several concerts like the Music and Me concert of Macoy Mendoza. LA Santos, young singer who have been performing already in the music and concert scene, some of her performances were front act to some International singers and also OPM singers.

"Threes A Company" concert guests Laarni Lozada, Pinoy Dream academy Season 2 winner, the comic duo AJ Tamiza and Le Chazz, and icon impersonator Dulce Viado. It was an entertaining night because aside from the different performances of the trio, Laarni gave a powerful vocals with her rendition of Juan Karlos "Buwan", the crazy antics of the duo Tamiza and Chazz that really made the whole Music Hall laugh, and the funny lip sync performance of Dulce.

I never thought that these male singers can really be sound good in a female hit songs. Some of these hit songs are the Titibo-Tibo, and Disney Songs.

According to the trio the concert songs and the blending of their voices wouldn't be possible without the guidance of Mr. Butch Miraflor, their musical director that really hit them with a lot of practices right before the concert date. They also added that Mr. Miraflor made magic to make their performance interestingly good. They manage also to get close because of their interest and passion in music, plus their bonding time. They were able to know each other and are looking forward for more collaborative projects.

LA Santos

The night's concert also served as the venue to launch their latest singles. LA with his revival version of the classic song "Isang Linggong Pag-ibig", Kiel's "Aasa Ka Ba" and Carlo's "Bituin". The songs of Kiel and Carlo were composed by renowned song writer Mr. Vehnee Saturno who is by way present at the concert.

So, want to know more about the trio, Kiel, Carlo and LA, well they're going to have different rounds of their activities like for LA he shared that he'll be releasing his YouTube Channel and some singles that he'll be releasing very very soon. While for Carlo and Kiel will be part of a musical play from Gantimpala Theater which is about "Noli Me Tangere". Basically they will be busy in the coming days with their different careers.

It is interesting that the Intramuros Administration (IA), the government agency tasked with the restoration, development, and promotion of the national cultural treasure celebrated its 40th Anniversary in the recently opened Museo de Intramuros.
