Sun Life's New Campaign Highlights About Health

5:29:00 AM

The uncertainty amidst the COVID-19 pandemic has indeed put us all in a situation where we realized the importance of many things. One, in particular, is the value of our health.

Filipinos who are eager to secure their health and ensure a brighter future will find an ally in Sun Life, as it launches a campaign dubbed “Partner in Health.”

Featuring Charo Santos-Concio, Matteo Guidicelli, and Piolo Pascual, the campaign consists of digital videos where they will talk about lessons from past experiences which paved the way towards their brighter future. One of these is investing in their health. The videos will be shared on Sun Life’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SunLifePH) and YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/SunLifePH).

Complementing the videos is “Safe Space,” a series of webinars focusing on mental health to be conducted in collaboration with the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc. (PMHA). The pilot stream, entitled “Love 'em, Hate 'em, Stress 'em: Mental Wellness for the Family,” will be held on April 9. It will be followed by “Imperfect Balance: How Mental Wellness Bridges Work and Life” on May 14. The series will close on June 18 with “You are Worth It: Illuminating a Path towards Holistic Health.”

To make the learning series more fun and interactive, Sun Life will also engage followers of its Facebook page through bite-sized content dubbed “Mind Your Health,” which promotes holistic wellness and mental health.

Sun Life is also collaborating with education technology platform Edukasyon.ph to spread its health advocacy to the younger generation. This will be done through a nationwide awareness campaign featuring articles, quizzes, and informative social posts promoting holistic health. Learning Quests, a gamified online learning module, may also be utilized by those who wish to learn more about the topic.

Meanwhile, for those ready to own a health protection product, they may choose from Sun Life’s diverse offerings such as SUN First Aid Plus, SUN Fit & Well Advantage, and Sun ICU Protect. Those who wish to know more about these products may avail of a free consultation with a preferred Sun Life advisor or they may connect with one through www.bit.ly/advisormatch.

“As we continuously endeavor to bring our lives back to normal, let us not forget the lessons we have learned from the past two years. Our health is an important factor in securing a brighter future, and so keeping ourselves healthy is truly worth it,” says Sun Life President Alex Narciso. “It would be Sun Life’s honor to walk this journey with them. With this campaign, we are reemphasizing our commitment to be the Filipino’s partner in health.”

Celebrities Encourage Everyone To Support World Vision’s Noche Buena Initiative

6:20:00 PM

World Vision continues its annual Christmas tradition with the Noche Buena campaign and as the child-focused organization moves forward, World Vision celebrity ambassadors and supporters help bring the Christmas spirit to Filipino children and families in need.

World Vision celebrity ambassadors Ogie Alcasid, Enzo Pineda, and Gelli Victor together with World Vision loyal sponsor Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo encourage more people to join the Noche Buena campaign and be part of the advocacy.

“I am so glad to be part of World Vision’s annual Noche Buena campaign even amid the pandemic. I hope people will continue supporting this initiative as not everyone can even afford a Noche Buena meal to celebrate Christmas,” says Mr. Ogie Alcasid

By giving a one-time donation of at least Php 1,000, sponsors and donors can help provide two (2) families with a Noche Buena gift that contains ingredients for Filipinos’ holiday favorites, spaghetti and fruit salad. “This year is very hard for everyone, but we can still make this season like no other. With a small amount of donation to World Vision’s Noche Buena campaign, we can all help spread the spirit of Christmas to the Filipino children and their families who are in need, especially in this season of giving,” says Mr. Enzo Pineda

Meanwhile, Gelli Victor and her daughter Guiliana teamed up for “Cook for Good”, one of the initiatives under the Noche Buena campaign. The mother and daughter tandem created their very own version of Fruit Salad. “World Vision’s Noche Buena campaign is one of my favorite initiatives of the organization because a simple Noche Buena pack means a lot for children as it symbolizes that they can have something special to look forward to every time it is Christmas,” says Ms. Gelli Victor.

Launched in 2005, the Noche Buena campaign has been one of the most awaited seasons of World Vision’s assisted children across the country, bringing joy to Filipino homes annually.

“The Year 2020 is a very different year for each one of us, but the spirit of Christmas never wanes. World Vision continues to bring joy, peace and hope to every Filipino especially in these trying times. We invite everyone to join our Noche Buena campaign and make this a Christmas like no other for Filipino children,” says Mr. Rommel Fuerte, World Vision National Director.

World Vision’s Noche Buena campaign will be accepting donations until January 8, 2021. To know more and donate to the Noche Buena campaign, please visit http://wvph.co/NB. You may also follow /worldvisionph on Facebook and @worldvisionphl on Instagram for updates.

#DoItRight Campaign Calls Filipinos to Proudly Show Support for RH and Family Planning

9:46:00 PM

New ‘DO IT RIGHT!’ campaign calls on Filipinos to proudly show their support for RH and family planning More organizations, celebrities, and ordinary Filipinos encouraged to join, add their voices to the cause

A coalition of 11 organizations today launched a campaign urging Filipinos to show their support openly for family planning and reproductive health (RH), with the “DO IT RIGHT!” slogan and a distinctive hand sign.

Repeated opinion polls have shown that more than 70 percent of Filipinos support family planning and initiatives, such as the Responsible Parenthood and RH Law. “The ‘DO IT RIGHT!’ campaign is designed to encourage everyone to take those beliefs they already hold inside and share them out in the open, proudly, especially on social media like Facebook,” said co-organizer Benjamin de Leon, President of The Forum for Family Planning and Development. “By showing each other how many feel the same, in a positive, celebratory spirit, Filipinos can together free themselves of old inhibitions.”

The campaign will include a social-media blitz, festival events, as well as advertising in traditional media like billboards, print, and radio. It encourages couples and individuals to flash the Do It Right! hand sign in selfie posts or in public: Two fingers held up together -- representing the members of a couple – with a thumb in-between representing the contraceptive or safe-sex measures that strengthen their bond.

The coalition has set up a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DoItRightPH/) to serve as the focal point for the evolving campaign, as well as the hashtag #DoItRight. Initial members include DKT Philippines, the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), The Forum for Family Planning and Development, The Philippine Society for Responsible Parenthood, LoveYourself, RTI International, SheDecides Philippines, and all four professional associations for the country’s midwives.

At a press conference held in Makati City, they called on more like-minded organizations and individuals to throw their weight behind the campaign.

“This is wide open. We invite anyone who feels this topic is important -- companies, famous Filipinos, anyone -- to come on board,” said Hyam Asher Bolande, Chairman of the Board of DKT Philippines. Following the example of the #MeToo anti-sexual harassment movement that grew in North America as more and more women spoke up, the Do It Right! the campaign is designed to gather strength over time, he added.

Economists and public-health experts have long lamented the need for improved RH education and access to modern contraception in the Philippines, especially for the country’s poorest. Religious-based organizations have protested the RH Law in recent years, but the law prevailed against court challenges and is fully in force today. At the press conference, Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Undersecretary Juan Antonio Perez III hailed the launch of the ‘DO IT RIGHT!’ campaign, which he said comes at a crucial time when the government is also increasing its efforts to fully implement the law.

Nandy Senoc, FPOP Executive Director said, “It’s high time for society to finally put aside fears and embarrassment about this topic and declare openly – as the majority of Filipinos, together – that RH is OK, that it’s responsible.”

“When youth and women are empowered, there will be no teen pregnancies, no early marriages, no unwanted pregnancies or abortions. When women are well informed, the fight against poverty is already halfway won,” he added.

Sara Duterte Boldly Express Her Support with the JV Ejercito Shirt

9:00:00 PM

Support is one thing and trust is another thing. How would you know that you are being trusted? Well just like in a couple shirt, wearing ones name proudly gives you a sense of pride. You are being praised and are given an exclusive attention. In the mid of the election period today people are doing their best to be noticed to win the public.

One of the sensational strong mayor of the country and the political leader of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago Party (HNP), Sara Duterte or Inday Sara, boldly expressed her support to one of the notable senator today, Sen JV Ejercito, by wearing his campaign shirt. This was seen in one of the campaign rallies of the HNP in Visayas where Sen. JV weren't able to join. In support, Inday Sara wore the campaign shirt of Sen JV Ejercito to represent him in the campaign.

We know that recently Sen JV made a big impact with his accomplishments and achievements, as an individual and as a citizen of this country.

"If there is a builder, there is a helper..." this is part of what Inday Sara posted on her instagram account during the Hugpong ng Pagbabago Cebu Rally where she wore the Sen JV Campaign Shirt.

Sen JV expressed his gratitude and thank the mayor in his facebook post since he cannot be in the said rally.

Support is one thing and trust is another but they can be both together!

Bits and Info About the 2019 Senatorial Candidates

1:16:00 AM

The election season had started already and the Commission on Election released the final list of the senatorial candidates. These candidates have already started their campaigns and their caravans.

From the list provided by the COMELEC there are 62 Senatoriables, 11 Female Candidates and 51 Male Candidates. From these, there are 45 candidates under the banner of 18 different political parties while 17 candidates run as individual or Independent parties. Out of this 62 candidates only 12 will be given a seat on the house of senate. They will be serving the Filipino people and this country for 3 years.

From these 62 senatorial candidates, few of them are popular to the people and these few are from the lineage of politicians who have serve and been serving the country for years. A political dynasty is perhaps a more common term. Others, might have gained their popularity through issues and publicity, whether it is good or not, still, it's publicity that gave them the limelight. The rest who are not known to many are underdogs who wanted to make a difference out of this election. An opportunity to serve the country.

Today, I think the Filipino people are now intellect enough to cast their vote and who to entrust their future.

So to give a few highlights of these senatorial candidates, we have created a simple infographics. To give everyone a glimpse of some few info about the senatorial candidates.

This coming election we should remember that this government is for the people, by the people and of the people.
