Cinema One Originals Marks It's 15 Years With Brave Cinematic Experiences and Will Run From November 7 to 17

8:25:00 PM

An interesting news in the entertainment industry as one of your favorite go-to films Cinema One Originals, on its fifteenth year, will loudly and proudly declare what it’s stood for all these years, originality in all its permutations, and challenging old and new audiences if they’re ready for the Cinema One Originals Experience—an experience that goes beyond cinema, beyond cinephilia, beyond entertainment.

All these years, the Cinema One Originals mandate has been to give filmmakers, first-timers and otherwise, a platform to fully express their visions. This year, eight original narrative features get P3 million worth of grant each. There are four first time filmmakers, three previous Cinema One Originals alumni, and one director making her second feature and her Cinema One Originals debut.

Diverse as the four first-time filmmakers’ visions are, they find common ground in the way they invert their genres, and subgenres, of choice: a bildungsroman, a noir, a gothic horror, and a resurrection rom-com.

J.E. Tiglao makes his feature debut with “Metamorphosis” which stars Gold Aceron, Iana Bernardez, Ivan Padilla, Ricky Davao, and Yayo Aguila in a coming-of-age drama about intersexuality that’s as wistful as it is provocative. Dustin Celestino reverses the wrong time/wrong place dynamics of noir with a little help from a comet in “Utopia,” a blackly comic riff on the genre starring Enzo Pineda, Joem Bascon, and Aaron Villaflor. Eve Baswel’s “Tia Madre” is a gothic horror featuring Cherie Gil and Jana Agoncillo in which a young girl starts to suspect her mother has been changed into something not quite herself and perhaps not quite human either. Nigel Santos’ “Yours Truly, Shirley” casts Regine Velasquez as a widow who believes a young pop star (Rayt Carreon) is the reincarnation of her late husband.

Returning to Cinema One Originals are Victor Villanueva and Kevin Dayrit, who made their feature film debuts with Cinema One Originals.

Victor’s resumes his fascination with the intertwining of rom-com tropes with supernatural tinges that made “My Paranormal Romance” a quirky treat with “Lucid”, in which Alessandra De Rossi plays a lucid dreamer whose waking life and dream life start to blur when she meets JM De Guzman. Kevin, whose “Catnip” was the multi-awarded darling of its year takes on vampirism, necrophilia, the drug wars and rom-coms in “O” which stars Anna Luna, Lauren Young, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

Giancarlo Abrahan whose second feature was the Best Picture-winning Cinema One Original “Paki” returns with “Sila Sila”, which stars Gio Gahol and Topper Fabregas and which he describes as an LGBT ghosting story and which finds him taking another look at the interstitial dynamics of yet another extended family, a group of friends nursing consensual emotional traumas.

Denise O Hara makes her Cinema One Originals debut and her second feature with “Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo” a rom-com inversion with JC Santos and Jane Oineza, about the underside of trauma that even the truest of loves have.

Cinema One Originals has been producing breakthrough films with thought-provoking contents for the Filipino audience for 15 years. This year’s celebration will be held in line with the 100th anniversary of the Philippine Cinema and the 25th anniversary of leading cable channel Cinema One.

Fresh, cool, vibrant, inclusive, brave, original. The 15th Cinema One Originals runs from November 7 to 17 at Trinoma, Glorietta, Ayala Manila Bay, Gateway, and Powerplant Makati. There will also be screenings at Vista Cinemas in Iloilo and Evia Lifestyle and in Cinema Centenario, Cinema ‘76, Black Maria, UP Cine Adarna, and FDCP Cinematheque Manila. CARMELLE, CYD, AND VANJOSS WOO PUBLIC FOR VOTES TO BECOME NEWEST “THE VOICE KIDS” GRAND WINNER

10:57:00 AM
The Voice Kids

It's the finals of the Voice Kids. Three young artists will fight for their dreams and future as they sing their hearts out and woo the public to vote for them in the “The Voice Kids: The Finals,” happening this weekend (November 2 and 3) on ABS-CBN.

The stage is already set for Cyd Pangca of FamiLea, Carmelle Collado of Kamp Kawayan, and Vanjoss Bayaban of Team Sarah, who will compete to become the newest and fourth grand champion of “The Voice Kids” to be determined solely by online and text votes.

Eleven-year-old Cyd of Bukidnon reached the finals after having gone through difficulties that challenged his confidence. After being bullied last season for not making it past the battle rounds, the passionate and multi-talented vocalist made an awe-inspiring comeback to “The Voice Kids” as a three-chair turner during the blind auditions.

Carmelle, also 11, of Camarines Sur dedicates her journey to her family of singers and grandmother, who, just like her, was a singing contest veteran. The powerful young artist made her mark this season with her explosive versions of hit songs by both foreign and local divas.

Driven 12-year-old Vanjoss of Pangasinan, who is also a three-chair turner, has his family’s future to fight for. Since his audition, he has kept his eyes on the prize so he could bring home his mother, who is a domestic helper in Hong Kong.

Aside from the young artists, the three superstar coaches are also fighting for their second respective “The Voice Kids” win, after successfully mentoring grand winners Lyca Gairanod (Team Sarah), Elha Nympha (Kamp Kawayan), and Joshua Oliveros (FamiLea).

A new chapter unfolds for one young artist—whose dream will come true? Who among Cyd, Carmelle, and Vanjoss will be crowned victorious?

5 Ways To Enjoy an All-in Sa Sarap and All-in sa Saya #GreenwichSagotKoNa Pizza Party

10:35:00 PM
#GreenwichSagotKoNa

It was mid-week but it feels like it was already a fun weekend night. The good vibes of the venue, the beat of music, and of course the aroma of a tasteful food waiting to be lavished by one barkada. It was an enticing night indeed.

Of course the way to the venue isn't easy. The traffic is really heavy and bad but knowing that you'll be enjoying the All-in sa Sarap and All-in sa Saya Pizza-Rap Barkada Blowout will be a stress reliever, especially if it is #GreenwichSagotKoNa blowout.

#GreenwichSagotKoNa

So treating your barkada or whoever is going to do a blowout will be happy because it is an overload of everything yummy. You all will have a nice feast.
Here are 5 ways to enjoy an all-in sarap and all-in saya at Greenwich.

1. Everything in life is bigger, better and more memorable if it’s all-in. From everyday barkadabonding moments to feasting on your favorite celebratory food – things seem larger than life if it’s done with everything you’ve got, just like Greenwich’s All-In Overload pizza.

2. Of course, when you go all-in with whatever it is you set your mind to do, you can expect to receive great results – aka success. What makes the moment doubly sweeter is when youcelebrate personal successes with those who mean the most to you – your barkada.#GreenwichSagotKoNa outrightly expresses that your success is also your kabarkada’s success.

3. Greenwich has always been a witness to barkada celebratons and it’s just right that it joins in on every Greenwich barkada’s fun by encouraging them to give their friends a virtual pat on the back with the “SAGOT KO NA” pizza party, because the treat is on those who give all-out support to you.

4. The All-In Overload pizza is loaded with ham, pepperoni, burger crumbles, bacon, Italian sausage, and Spanish sausage, plus green bell peppers, pineapples, mushrooms, onions and cheese – that has an all-in flavor in one freshly-made crust! This everything-on-it pizza tastes even better when it’s a “SAGOT KO NA” barkada blowout so you can share your blessings with your barkada.

5. One of the best things about the All-In Overload is that it’s best shared with the barkada. It’s not because it’s too filling, or the quantity can become too overwhelming for one person, but it is just more fun to eat it when the entire barkada is in town! Sharing a pizza that’s overloaded with toppings, flavor and that unmistakable all-in goodness with friends (and loved ones) is enjoyable because it heightens the experience you have with each bite.

With the “SAGOT KO NA” pizza party, Greenwich shows its utmost appreciation to its old and new barkada for choosing to make the brand a part of their lives, moments and memories. So, will you be the one that's to treat? Well, as long as it makes every barkada put together.

#GreenwichSagotKoNa

#GreenwichSagotKoNa

The event on that night took inspiration from the All-In Overload TV commercial featuring Greenwichbarkada Yassi Pressman, Robi Domingo and Enrique Gil. The “SAGOT KO NA” revelry is packed with games, surprises, heart-pounding music and rap battles, dancing, and of course, All-In Overload pizzas – just the kind of party that all barkadas will enjoy.

#GreenwichSagotKoNa

Me, I did have enjoy the night munching on the all-in sa sarap pizzas.

Leo Katigbak Talks About Saving Filipino Films Through ABS-CBN’s “Sagip Pelikula” Advocacy

8:45:00 PM

Talk about films and their impact on people, some of us might have been influenced by the films from the past and the present, that is why one of the networks is pushing or creating a move to save the Filipino Films. For me, I would really love to find old films that are still good and really makes an interesting voice. Here's a release about the talk of Mr. Leo Katigbak about saving the Filipino film.

How can we preserve the colorful Filipino culture through film restoration? This is the question that ABS-CBN Film Restoration head Leo Katigbak answers in the second “Think Possible” Lightbulb Session of ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel.

A media veteran for 32 years, Katigbak has overseen the restoration of around 180 Filipino films, some of which have already been featured in international film fests, local red carpet premieres, free-to-air and cable television, pay-per-view and video-on-demand platforms, DVD releases, and iTunes.

Katigbak strongly believes that cinema reflects a nation’s culture and history, and through ABS-CBN’s “Sagip Pelikula” advocacy, he has been spreading the word on the importance of saving, restoring, and preserving Filipinos’ best works in filmmaking.

In front of fellow media practitioners, members of the local film community, as well as students, Katigbak talks about the history of Philippine cinema, explaining how our humid weather and the expensive cost of storing film reels properly has led to the loss of many of the country's old movies.

He guides them through the restoration process, where films are brought back to how their creators envisioned them, and the efforts undertaken by ABS-CBN Film Restoration to get audiences to watch and appreciate these restored classics once again through the “Sagip Pelikula” campaign.

“This is a legacy borne out of the mantra of ABS-CBN, which is to be in the service of the Filipino people. We are a media company and that is one of the legacies we want to leave behind, a record of our psychology, of our past, so we can stop repeating mistakes,” he said.

“Think Possible” is a 30-minute session featuring change-makers and innovators who have ideas, or are doing something, to make the world better. Episodes are available on the ANC YouTube channel, while shorter versions are aired on ANC’s newscasts 24/7.

1:36:00 PM

HMR Auto Auction
Okay, I'm not an expert on this matter, the bidding thing in an auction, but I just want to share my first time experience attending an auction, particularly an automobile auction. It's rare for me to witnessed something like this. I find it interesting, exciting, and fun. But of course this is for those who have enough finances. So, let me give you some bits of what I have observed and learned that you may take if ever you'll be going in an event like this.

HMR Auto Auction

Before I share more, let me share first HMR Auto Auction, the company that invited us to witness their auction proper which happened at their new facilities at ACSIE Compound, Main Avenue, KM16 West Service Road, Bicutan. It is believed to be the Philippine's biggest purpose-built auto auction facility. This is going to be a one-stop shop for buyers to bid on a huge range of premium used vehicles, at heavily discounted prices.

HMR Auto Auction

During the soft opening, HMR Auto Auction held an auction showcasing over 150 motorcycles, 8 trucks, and 100+ cars all for live public bidding. On this event that we witnessed a bidding. So what newbies should consider attending an auction like this?

1. Registration. Of course there is going to be a registration and a fee is required to take part in the bidding process.

2. Check out the items for bidding. Right before the auction make sure to check the items. This is for you to decide which item to bid on.

3. Your finances. Be sure to have enough money with you in case you get too fiery with some other bidders. Also, set a limit. This is to hold ourselves to spend more.

HMR Auto Auction

So, these are just my observations, be sure to check out other things to know about bidding to equip yourself.

HMR Auto Auction will have its Grand Opening on December 7, 2019, Saturday, and this will also celebrate HMR Auto Auction’s 3rd anniversary sale. An event not to be missed!

HMR has worked with a top-tier bank to ensure the process is simple, quick and value for money. Samuel Powell, the CEO of HMR Auctions commented: “We (at HMR Auto Auctions) are pleased to have reached this milestone in our journey; and are humbled by the confidence which the public has placed in our services over the past three years.
