MAYMAY "MPOWERED" ‘KABOGERA,’ Not Her First Concert

3:12:00 AM

Maymay Entrata's concert "MPOWERED" seems to be not her first!

According to the official press release, the virtual concert is her first and it was introduced that it is going to be an empowerment extravaganza as Maymay Entrata delivers a variety of showstopping performances that will highlight her journey to self-love. The concert happened last November 26, a Friday night concert via KTX.ph, iWantTFC, and TFC IPTV.

After watching the concert it seems that this is not Maymay's very first, as she is indeed a "KABOGERA" in flaunting the 'birit' and performances. She definitely leveled up her performances this time. A different Maymay Entrata!

“Isa sa mga pinakanagustuhan ko talaga sa concert ay ibang iba 'yung atake, kabogera ‘yung every performance ko doon,” said Maymay, adding that aside from inspiring confidence, “Mpowered” also aims to stress the importance of choosing to be happy.

She explained, “All in all, ang gusto ko lang naman maiparating ay maging empowered at mas maging masaya sila. Kasi gusto ko ‘yung araw ng concert maging isang selebrasyon kumbaga na choice natin na maging masaya.”

So, if you failed to watch Maymay Entrata's concert "Mpowered," here's a bit of info on the lineup of guests that she has.  Mimiyuuuh’s comedic chops, AC Bonifacio’s supreme dancing skills, Darren Espanto’s impressive sing-and-dance talent to Nyoy Volante’s soulful and heartfelt singing, a good set of performances that highlights Maymay in all.

Meanwhile, Maymay’s “Amakabogera” continues its streak of success, having accumulated over 2.8 million music video views, more than 316,000 Spotify streams, and almost 190,000 TikTok entries.

The Kapamilya artist’s live performance of her latest single on the Wish 107.5 Bus has also been received favorably, which now has over 3.5 million views and even peaked at number 2 in YouTube Philippines’ trending videos list.

Maymay said she initially doubted whether she could pull off singing the song live, but was happy with the results and the overall success of the track. “Masaya na ako na nagugustuhan nila ‘yung tono, ‘yung kanta pero ‘yung naiintindihan nila ‘yung lyrics, kung ano ‘yung mensahe ng kanta na ipinapahiwatig sa listeners, dun ako mas natutuwa.”

So, what do you think of Maymay Entrata's performance in her first concert?

SEEK Asia Launches Let’s Get To Work To Empower Job Seekers After "Great Resignation"

6:49:00 AM

SINGAPORE, 19 November 2021 — Today, SEEK Asia, the parent company of leading jobs platforms JobStreet and JobsDB, and with investments in JobKorea and BDJobs (Bangladesh), announces the launch of its new omni-channel campaign aimed at getting job seekers, and especially first jobbers, to work. This comes after the pandemic caused unemployment rates to skyrocket to an estimated 81 million in Asia, with many still unable to secure a job. The pandemic has also changed people’s attitudes towards their jobs, with many re-evaluating where and how they want to work and the kind of work they want to do. This has led to the emerging trend known as the “Great Resignation”, a term coined by associate professor of management at Texas A&M University Anthony Klotz, which explains why even experienced job seekers are choosing to leave their current careers in the search of something more meaningful.

Aptly titled “Let’s Get To Work”, SEEK Asia’s latest campaign will be rolled out in its six key markets from today, running across digital, out-of-home (OOH) advertising, social media, and PR. Let’s Get To Work is a continuation of SEEK Asia’s brand evolution that began in late 2020, and will focus its messaging on empowering job seekers to go after careers they are passionate about. The campaign also indicates an ongoing strategic business shift, positioning JobStreet and JobsDB as not just a jobs platform, but also as a career and talent partner for both job seekers and hirers, respectively.

The fully integrated marketing campaign is helmed by leading global marketing company McCann Worldgroup and will see adaptations of the regional campaign across microsites, campaign films in each of the six local languages, and in-market activations. McCann will work alongside Think Tank’s multi-award-winning director Adrian Calumpang. Calumpang is a creative force with a long list of clients such as The Coca-Cola Company, Heineken, Nestle, Nike, and Unilever — to name a few. His style is typically sought after because of the way he portrays youth culture; elements that can be seen through the high-energy aesthetic of the Let’s Get To Work brand films.

Jane Cruz-Walker, Chief Marketing Officer at SEEK Asia, said: “While the pandemic has caused widespread job loss, reduced working hours, and pay cuts, it has also caused many to re-evaluate what they want out of their career. Job seekers’ demands have evolved beyond remuneration — they want a sense of fulfilment, good work-life balance, and career progression — and it is time for companies to adapt to this new world of work. This is why SEEK Asia is launching Let’s Get To Work: to motivate job seekers to pursue the jobs they love! By providing job seekers with opportunities to find jobs that they are passionate about, we want to be the career partner that will inspire the next generation of workers and empower them to be the heroes in their own career journey!”

Focusing on the hyperlocal nature of the job market, Let’s Get To Work will also feature influencers and key opinion leaders will be used across the region — including Singaporean actress Sharon Au, Malaysian stand-up comedian Harith Iskander, Indonesian vlogger Gerry Girianza, Filipino actor and chef Marvin Agustin, Thai musician Manassavee, and Hong Kong fitness entrepreneur Charlz Ng.
v In the Philippines, leading online job portal JobStreet will be bringing this exciting campaign to life with over 10 local influencers and key opinion leaders from different professions and industries, who will be sharing career advice from their own experiences to motivate and empower jobseekers. This holistic campaign can be accessed in a variety of channels, including a microsite with a range of stories, videos, tips, and advice to guide and inspire candidates on their ‘Let’s Get to Work’ journey.
v “It has been a tough couple of years for Filipino jobseekers and I’m sure many are looking for a new career direction or a fresh perspective on what they really want from their jobs. Our campaign is here to help restore their passion for work and encourage them to push through these present challenges, so they could look forward to next year with a renewed sense of purpose in their career,” shared JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.

With over 13 million candidates and 75,000 job vacancies in the country, JobStreet remains committed to empowering the job market amidst the pandemic through continued efforts such as nationwide virtual career fairs and access to various online career tools.

In 2022, SEEK Asia will also be launching the Biggest Tech Career Fair in Asia, which aims to accelerate digital transformation efforts by providing more opportunities for job seekers to secure roles in companies driven by technology. As the biggest career fair in the region, SEEK Asia will aim to match thousands of tech job opportunities to hundreds of thousands of candidates.

Peter Bithos, CEO of SEEK Asia, said: “SEEK Asia is the biggest and most trusted jobs board in Southeast Asia. Our ambition is to grow fourfold in the next five years and to expand our platform beyond what people have come to know and love us for today. We are strengthening our existing business by making big investments in people, innovation, and technology. Through Let’s Get To Work, we will be able to better engage with and inspire job seekers to find jobs that are meaningful to them. With our appeal to job seekers, this will also allow us to get more employers on the platform looking for quality talent, allowing an explosion of opportunities. Let’s Get To Work is an integral part of SEEK Asia’s commitment to job seekers and employers, and this is just the beginning of our exciting developments and plans.”

AIA PHILIPPINES SHARES TECH UPDATES, LAUNCHES MY AIA PLATFORM

11:54:00 PM

The current life situation pushes everyone and most of the companies to walk the thin line of chances and success. If you're watching Pinoy Big Brother, you can find that even they are struggling to make their reality game show be relevant for today's viewers, that is why more and more brands are pushing their limits beyond.

With the recent rebrand of AIA Philippines and its bancassurance subsidiary, BPI AIA, the two life insurance powerhouse companies are focused on pushing the boundaries to achieve their global capabilities, in alignment with the strategies and direction of AIA Group, their Hong Kong-based parent company. Part of this alignment is going full speed ahead with the use of technology, digital and analytics—referred to as TDA—to streamline their processes, strengthen their operations, enable their people, and provide relevant solutions to customers while continuously improving service delivery.

“With our recent rebrand to AIA Philippines and consequently, BPI AIA, we continue to ramp up our internal transformation to be better positioned for the future as we embrace our global capabilities, aspiring to lead in the TDA space within the life insurance industry,” stated Leo Tan, Chief Marketing Officer of AIA Philippines.

AIA Philippines Chief Technology Officer, Noel Mendoza, shared various TDA initiatives that the Company has undertaken, emphasizing how the end user is at the center of the project design and development, to ensure ease of use and encourage adoption. This is especially true for projects that have the customers as the end users. “Our customers take the wheel. We will tailor, learn and evolve based on their wants and needs,” shared Mendoza.

As a life insurer with access to huge amounts of data, data and analytics and the use of cloud are also key areas that can help the business. “We will use the data we have for better insights and understanding. We will re-design our business models around the services they will need,” Mendoza expounded. “And finally, everything in the cloud—it’s where digital lives and comes alive.”

A practical and convenient platform

Among all the TDA projects mentioned, the recently launched My AIA platform was showcased in a media briefing, with a walkthrough that highlighted its functionalities. My AIA is an integrated platform where AIA Philippines customers can access the Total Health Solution ecosystem to help them live better, protect better and get better with just a few taps.

Geegee Lopez, AIA Philippines Chief Operations Officer, further explained, “My AIA is our customers’ all-in-one touchpoint where they can manage their protection, continue to choose living healthy, and access health care should they find themselves under the weather or worse, as may sometimes happen. This platform is the first step to demonstrate our commitment to make protected healthy living easy, and there will be more features coming soon, as we continue our design sprints and customer validations. Again, because we really mean it when we say: We put our customers at the heart of everything we do.”

Geared for the future

The ongoing pandemic has presented a lot of challenges to AIA Philippines and BPI AIA, but both companies have been able to pivot efficiently and effectively. TDA, once just one of the company initiatives, suddenly had to be at the front and center, fast tracking the progress of technology and digitalization projects in the pipeline. Despite the challenges of working remotely, these projects quickly got off the ground, with a timely launch that was able to address the immediate needs of the business and its customers.

“As we rebranded to AIA Philippines early this year, we firmly embraced the importance of TDA as a key component underpinning the various pillars of our business strategy,” remarked Kelvin Ang, AIA Philippines Chief Executive Officer. “As we go through transformation on our processes and the development of technology projects, TDA’s influence will not be limited to these, but will also necessitate a culture change, where we adapt agile ways of working as we continue to build a culture of innovation within AIA Philippines. These will all come together to help us fulfill our purpose of helping Filipinos live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.”

Faberco Brings the First-Ever Covid-19 Oral Treatment to the Philippines

6:41:00 AM

We all want to be safe and better with the world's situation and knowing that convenient treatments for this pandemic are rolling out into the market. Faberco Life Sciences Inc, an emerging Philippine-based pharmaceutical company is one of the firsts to bring in COVID-19 drug Molnupiravir (Molnarz) to the country, making the Philippines the first country in South East Asia to have access to this first-ever COVID-19 oral treatment.

Molnupiravir is the first oral antiviral drug that will prevent mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 from progressing into severe disease that needs hospitalization.

Developed by Merck & Co, Inc, (MSD), it has given the manufacturing rights to eight top generic manufacturers in the world for low and middle-income countries, including Faberco’s manufacturer, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.

Faberco has currently made Molnupiravir (Molnarz) available in the Philippines through Compassionate Special Permit (CSP) issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration.

Though not yet available commercially, Faberco, has chosen RiteMed Philippines, Inc. to distribute Molnupiravir (Molnarz) to the private sector including hospitals, medical institutions, and treatment sites under compassionate use which allow institutions to procure and distribute products under study, or those awaiting approval for immediate use in emergency situations.

FABERCO EXPECTS PHILIPPINE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION EUA APPROVAL SOON

Faberco Life Sciences, Inc. (Faberco) expects the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (PFDA) to approve its Emergency Use Application (EUA) application for the use of Molnupiravir in the country after the oral treatment received EUA approval in the UK few weeks ago.

“We are anticipating the approval from the Philippine FDA in the coming weeks” said Faberco Life Sciences Inc. founding member and Chairman of the Board, Vinay Panemanglor.

Molnupiravir, the first antiviral medication for COVID-19 is taken as a pill rather than given as an injection. In clinical trials, the pill, originally developed to treat flu, cut the risk of hospitalization or death by 50% when given as a 5-day treatment regimen in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19. The drug needs to be given within five days of symptoms developing to be most effective.

Molnupiravir is the first COVID-19 drug that can be administered outside of a hospital setting, before the illness has progressed to a severe stage.

This milestone in the history of the country’s fight against COVID-19 would not have been possible if not for the support of the Philippine government. The company lauds and continuously supports the government’s efforts in providing COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, which remains to be the cornerstone in preventing severe disease and deaths due to COVID-19.

“Faberco Life Sciences, Inc commits to the Filipino people to make available and accessible this life-saving drug, bringing hope and giving our nation more reason to celebrate this Christmas and welcome the new year with more optimism and enthusiasm”, said Mr. Kishore N. Hemlani, the company’s founder and Vice-Chairman of the Board.

7:05:00 AM

Another unusual celebration of Christmas. No matter what is the circumstances Christmas is Christmas and we are to continue spreading the hope and love of Christmas. So, pandemic or not, the yuletide season goes on with us, just like the spirit of Christmas shared by SM Supermalls with a list of merry-making inside their malls.

SM Supermalls brings the same spirit of  Christmas for its shoppers with a series of inviting Christmas celebrations, of course, all while implementing the strict #SafeMalling protocols as mandated.

It's indeed a ChristmaSaya sa SM with its line of activities and places to visit like the Christmas Village which runs from Nov 5 to Jan 6, the Christmas Feast, Christmas Markets and different Christmas Shows that all run on the same date. The SM Bears of Joy is perhaps a different one because of its significance for each and every child because it will be available from Nov 12 until December 25. Like what they usually do, more and more kids will be given that smile and the Christmas spirit.

So, here are the full details of every event inside SM Supermalls.

Register online at [microsite] or through SM Supermalls’ Facebook page to join this fun tech experience where you can play and create your own avatar to immerse yourself in a virtual Christmas zone at SM– from dining & shopping, to exquisite Christmas centerpieces and a fun play area! PRSP Launches First-Ever Virtual, Interactive and Nationwide Students’ PR Con

6:35:00 AM

The gathering of influential persons in the industry, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) is inviting public relations, communication, marketing, and advertising students all over the country to learn more about decoding the content we consume and preparing in the journey to PR for Good through an informative virtual adventure to the different stages of the content journey in the PRSP Students’ PR Con 2021.

The PRSP Students’ PR Con 2021 is the first-ever virtual, interactive, and nationwide edition of the Students’ PR Congress, the organization’s annual event for students to learn more about the public relations industry from leading practitioners in the field. With the theme “Decoding Content: The Journey to PR for Good”, this year’s Students’ PR Con aims to help participants navigate the new media landscape and tackle the three different stages of the content journey, which are: (1) Capture and Consume, (2) Curate and Converse, and (3) Create and Care.

The first segment, Capture and Consume, aims to address how we contextualize the content that we come across in everyday life to mindfully capture and consume information from different media platforms. The second segment, Curate and Converse, will discuss curating content from reliable sources and starting conscientious and fruitful conversations about topics that matter as a way to fight misinformation and become responsible communicators. The third and final segment, Create and Care, collates all the learnings gained from the previous segments by talking about why creating our own PR for good can show that we care, not only to communicate our messages for self-serving purposes, but to push forward ideas, advocacies and causes that benefit society.

Ferdinand Bondoy, Chairman of PRSP Students’ PR Con and Grand Prix 2021, Board Trustee of PRSP and Regional Integration & Chief Executive Director of COMCO Southeast Asia said, “With shifts in mainstream media and social channels and the emergence of game-changing digital platforms rapidly affecting the behavior of various publics, we could say that the PR landscape has also drastically changed. And with this change, our next gen practitioners must be well-equipped with the necessary new knowledge as they eventually enter the field and the workforce. And PRSP is bringing this groundbreaking virtual conference to Filipino students from all over the country to serve as one of the biggest venues available for them to gear up for the challenge.”

Joining the PRSP Students' PR Con 2021 are thought leaders and renowned professionals from the communications industry who are set to share their expertise as speakers for the online event. For the Capture and Consume segment, Lynda Jumilla-Abalos of ABS-CBN News Digital will tackle “The News and Information Media” while Peach Natividad of Google, Neil Trinidad of Lazada, and Toff Rada of Tiktok will talk about “Social Media and the Emerging Platforms”.

The Curate and Converse segment will include Yvonne Chua of Vera Files and Luz Rimban of Asian Center for Journalism to discuss “Dissecting Fake News, Trolling, Propaganda and Demolition”, and Dr. Randy Dellosa of Pinoy Big Brother and Carlo Ople of PLDT and Unbox for “Being Digitally Ready and Responsible”. Finally, joining our “Create and Care” segment will be Caroline Veronilla of World Vision, Anna Meloto-Wilk of Human Nature and Cat Trivino of MindNation for the “Forwarding Your Advocacy and Giving Voice for Social Good” discussion. Next set of speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Norman Agatep, President of PRSP and President and Managing Director of Grupo Agatep shared, “Students of Communication have always been a significant sector that the PRSP has been reaching out to over the years. As such, we have designed pillar programs that aim to supplement their classroom learning, fuel their interest in public relations, and ignite their desire to pursue careers in our industry, This year's PR Con will give all participants an exclusive glimpse of what their lives as PR professionals could be like.”
