Ginebra San Miguel's First Ginuman Live Online Concert as Salute To Frontliners and the Filipino Spirit

12:41:00 AM
Salute to all the Frontliners

An annual event where thousands of people come together to celebrate Ginebra San Miguel's Ginumanfest, a yearly music festival held in different regions nationwide. This includes me also, who have been to some of these celebrations, of course, I did enjoy and have fun. Good music, great food, and an interesting flavor of drinks that have been with us for almost two centuries.

Since 2011, Ginumanfest has been championing the best in OPM talent year on year, bringing Filipinos together for an epic celebration of music, food, and the world’s largest selling gin.

For this year 2020, as an act of unity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ginebra San Miguel held its first-ever live online concert. The heritage brand urged us to digitally get together via Ginebra San Miguel’s Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/BarangayGinebra/) last June 20 at 8:00 pm, as ONE GINEBRA NATION to support and salute our frontliners, our freedom to enjoy life, and the never-say-die Filipino spirit.

Honoring Heroes

Now more than ever, the message of unity and togetherness of Ginebra San Miguel’s “One Ginebra Nation” campaign could not be more timely.

Early on in the crisis, Ginebra San Miguel found a way to do its part to help as well as to honor the modern heroes in the frontlines.

Aside from donating millions of liters of ethyl alcohol to hospitals and the frontlines, Ginebra San Miguel came out with a reimagination of its iconic label by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo. The image of St. Michael the Archangel vanquishing the devil that has been on the Kuwatro Kantos and Bilog bottles for over 100 years were turned into artworks honoring the brave doctors, nurses, security guards, factory workers, delivery and grocery personnel. These artworks were posted on Ginebra San Miguel’s Facebook Page and netizens were inspired to react and share.

Ginebra San Miguel responded to the clamor to make these artworks an actual bottle label so a limited edition Kuwatro Kantos bottle was released with the commemorative label featuring the healthcare workers. Ginebra San Miguel also gave more reasons to toast the Filipinos’ heroic deeds and never-say-die spirit when it launched its newest products – GSM Blue Flavors Tamarind Punch and the Ginebra San Miguel Hari one-liter bottle at the live online concert.

A Night of Hope

The live online concert featured three of the Philippines’ biggest bands namely Banda ni Kleggy, Silent Sanctuary, and December Avenue not only kept netizens entertained with their hits, they also sent out messages of hope and encouragement.

Hosted by Magic 89.9’s DJ Suzy Gamboa and DJ CJ Rivera, viewers were encouraged to prepare their favorite Ginebra San Miguel drinks as they were also treated to the special participation of industry idols such as Sue Ramirez, 2020 Ginebra San Miguel Calendar Girl Sanya Lopez, top favorite candidates from Miss Universe Philippines pageant, and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings.

As the event carried on and the festivities came to a close, guests and viewers gathered in a virtual toast as heroes celebrating heroes and gave thanks to everyone who made the unforgettable night possible.

You can still catch the first Ginumanfest live online concert event via Ginebra San Miguel’s Official Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BarangayGinebra/

This event was brought to us by Ginebra San Miguel, GSM Blue, and GSM Premium Gin and was powered by Magic 89.9.

SB19's Concert "Give In To SB19" Presented by Dunkin' Will Be On A Later Date

3:11:00 AM

When was the last time you went to Dunkin? Me, not every day, but I make sure to visit one when I need to buy something for the kids and my wife. Just like most of us, it has been our go-to brand whenever we crave for that satisfying sweet taste. This year, the brand is giving its patrons more reasons to give in!

The brand's appreciation for its customers is always on full display every year during Dunkin' day, that's when they get free doughnuts and discounts. That's the love of Dunkin', and knowing that its patrons are getting bigger every generation, the company spent time to know what does the youth of today is obsessed with, well, they like K-Pop.

With this, Dunkin' will once again indulge the youth by bringing them closer to their loved K-Pop group, the Sound Break or SB19 with their upcoming major concert at the Araneta Coliseum entitled "Give In to SB19."

SB19 is an interesting blend of Korean instrumentals and OPM vocals, this K-Pop group is the first Filipino boy band trained by Korean entertainment company named ShowBT. The group quickly launched its stardom with the viral fame of their second single, "Go Up," and their inclusion in the international Billboard Next Big Sound Chart.

I remember when I first catch this group on my camera lens, it was an advance screening of a Pinoy and Korean film, where they somehow stand out and thought of actually Koreans. But amidst that, they show professionalism and introduced their group rightfully.

Since we, Pinoys, love treats and freebies, Dunkin' made a special treat to SB19 fans, the "Give In To SB19" concert tickets. It was given away for free through a promotion, which let the fans enjoy their favorite doughnuts while securing their seats for the upcoming concert. According to Dunkin', their VIP voucher seats were exhausted in just 3 minutes! That is how persistent the fans are in giving in with the SB19 concert.

As much as everyone wants the concert to happen according to its original schedule, the "Give in to SB19" concert presented by Dunkin' is slated to happen on a later date given the health risks posed by the developing COVID-19 outbreak. In the meantime, everyone is encouraged to keep their hearts burning up for Sejun, Stell, Ken, Josh, and Justin until the big day comes!

Catch the New Sheryn Regis in Back To Love Concert

2:01:00 PM

Sheryn Regis, the Crystal Voice of Asia, is back to bring a hair-raising song with that distinctive tone and melismatic timbre, a velvety yet tart with an insistent flutter and occasional reserves of soul belting that resonates with such catharsis.

She was strong, emotive, confident, and capable of punctuating any beat with her goose-bump-inducing whispers or full bore diva-roars.

Having heard, Sheryn Regis is one gifted singer, a soprano often acclaimed for her range and technical ability. In 2003 she secured a place as a grand finalist in ABS-CBN's reality singing competition "Star in a Million." After advancing from the elimination rounds. She was dubbed as the "Power Belter," she was the judge's favorite and placed consistently in the top performances every week, eventually reaching the Grand Champion Night on January 3, 2004. She won the Texter's Choice Award but placed only as a Runner-up after singing Wendy Moten's "Come in Out of the Rain," which eventually became her signature song. While she may not have clinched the grand title in the said competition, Sheryn felt like she already has, as she was immediately overwhelmed with numerous TV offers, product commercial endorsements, and concerts in the Philippines and different parts of the world.

To date, she has recorded four solo albums with platinum and gold awards, as well as numerous collaborations with different Filipino artists. She was known as "The Queen of ABS-CBN's 'Teleserye' Theme Songs" and was a member of the "Kapamilya Network's" homegrown talent, Star Magic.

in 2004, Sheryn was chosen by popular songwriter Vehnee A. Saturno to represent the Philippine sin "Voice f Asia" in Kazakhstan where she sang "Isang Lahi," "Sana's 'Di Pangarap," "Now More Than Ever" and Saturno's original song "Follow Your Dreams." for a time, she was part of the now-defunct noontime show "MTB: Ang Saya Saya" and "M.R.S. (Most Requested Show)."

Sheryn had her first concert, "Higher Note," at the Music Museum, followed by several concerts in the Philippines and abroad. However, in 2010, as part of her career move, she and her husband migrated to the United States with their daughter and settled in Houston, Texas, where she continues her colorful signing career, as a concert regular and a theater actress. 10 years later, she is back to Music Museum for her homecoming concert on February 28, 2020, entitled "Back To Love" - Sheryn Regis Live at the Music Museum.

Her recent stints in the last quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020 included being the featured celebrity in ASAP Natin To, I Can See Your Voice, Casino Filipino's La Musikandia Nationwide series of shows, Wish 107.5, Umagang Kay Ganda, ABS-CBN Trade Show, Letters and Music, and Other Radio and TV Guestings. She continues to do solo concert tours around the USA and Canada.

Certainly, this adorable powerhouse of a diva has earned her legions of adoring fans worldwide with her four-octave vocal range, the florid blend of breathy riffing and resonant belting, which easily puts her on top of the country's most gifted artists who have significantly impacted popular and contemporary music.

Catch the new version of Sheryn Regis unfolds on February 28, 2020, at the Music Museum directed by Alco Guerrero.

Highlights of Kiel Alo's Birthday Concert "Ako Naman"

12:32:00 AM
Kiel Alo - Hugot King

We sing, we dance, and we cover! Yes, may it be something new or something old as long as it makes a story, then we are there. Just recently, Kiel Alo, one of the rising talents in the music industry celebrated his birthday through a concert that was dubbed as "Ako Naman" (a HUGOT KING Birthday Concert). The event happened at the Music Museum, with a number of celebrities and artists present.

It was a memorable night not only for Kiel but also for the audience who stayed and watched him do his numbers and some unexpected treats, plus of course the performances of his guests, which tremendously good. Some legends in singing were also. Well, we can really see through his eyes after the show that "yes I made it" moment.

In this concert, I can share some of the highlights that you might want to check for yourself. So what are these highlights that happened at Kiel Alo's Birthday concert...

Kiel Alo Birthday Concert

1. Kiel made an interesting number that surprised everyone. I think this the first time that he did something like it but what's a hit that the audience loved it very much. Kiel made a dance number with a sensual theme type of song and dance number. It was a club-like look but Kiel and his dance crew managed to made it as elegant as possible.

2. Performances of his guests like Orville who really made everyone laughed with the "Dahon Song" and the "Nissin Song". It was hilarious and fun.

3. Oldies but goodies! Performances of two veteran singers with Kiel is sure a keepsake as well. Mr. Jun Polistico who still sung like Frank Sinatra is probably something to cherish. Another singer is Ms. Eva Eugenio, who still, through the years managed to make her voice as interesting as it sill be.

4. The dance number that made everyone shocked. According to Kiel, this was his first time to perform something like it. It was a dance number like the Moulin Rouge male version.

5. Of course, everyone also expects the performance number of his guests, Morissette Amon and Janno Gibbs. Unfortunately, something happened that night and shocked everyone. For Morisette, she was perhaps dubbed as the "Walkout Singer" while for Janno probably "No Show Man". The biggest news was the walkout of Morisette which garnered different reactions.

What I like about the reaction of Kiel with all the things happened during the concert was that he's very thankful and appreciative of everyone who came to the concert. Even though there was an epic thing that happened still he calmly responds that we have different issues in our life so for that matter it might be big.

Possible Reasons Why Morisette Amon Walks Out of Kiel Alo's Birthday Concert

7:40:00 PM

While everyone is celebrating and singing with Kiel Alo on his Birthday Concert entitled "Ako Naman", an unforeseen circumstances happened. One of the guests' manager appeared on stage and made an apology to everyone present in the venue. According to him, his talent won't be singing with Kiel due to an emergency. Apparently, it was announced that Morisette lost her voice, maybe got lost in the woods, that is why she won't be performing.

It was a saddening message and every one is somehow restless about the news. I know some of these guests were there to watch her sing together with Kiel but things happen. What's more intriguing is that when she was asked to make an appearance at least from the back of the crowd, we'll she ran and walked out without any gesture of apology.

With that, everyone was puzzled and intrigue of what Morisette acted. I'm one of the crowd so I somehow overheard some murmurs about that actuation of being unprofessional. There was also a matter of questioning why she needs to run out when she was asked by Jobert to at least wave and be apologetic.

So, what we're the possible reasons? First, these are news that we're shared online.

1. Probably she's still affected by the conflict in their family, particularly between Morissette and her Dad, Amay Amon. Maybe it was triggered when was interviewed before the concert.

2. Perhaps she's still troubled by the rant made by her dad about the alleged report that Morissette leaves her family because of her boyfriend.

3. Or maybe there is something else much deeper than what we know about her that still haunts her.

4. Maybe when she was interviewed together with Kiel Alo it might have touched a very sensetive part of her emotion.

5. Or she doesn't want to miss a very special moment or ocassion of her friend.

For whatever reasons Kiel Alo was kind-hearted enough to understand what she was going through. Like a true professional artist/singer " the show must go on".
