Limited Edition Brings a Different Kind of Everlasting Love

9/23/2021 07:11:00 AM

Once upon a time, three fine gentlemen named Jethro, Arnold and Mario, figure in a different kind of love, complete with its many saccharine trappings, weep-triggering tribulations and promise of happily ever after which are all in “Limited Edition.”

“Limited Edition” is a romantic drama about finding one’s elusive and everlasting love with a love triangle story arc that gives it more kilig, heartstrings pull, and a fairy-tale like conclusion of who ends up with who.

“What makes him lovable is his innocence and simplicity,” says Jomari Angeles about Mario. “Not all of us are born with the right knowledge about life and love right away. He is a hopeless romantic and pag pag nakuha na ang loob niya or pagna-inlove na siya bibigay niya ang lahat sa kanyang partner.”

Andrew Gan, on being Jethro enthuses: “The most challenging part about being him is how to feel like him, to live in his shoes, and give justice to that feeling of falling in love with another young man. I want to be truthful lalo na pag naramdaman na niya na he is in love with Mario.”

“Well, his only fault is that he fell in love with Mario as well,” declares Ron Angeles who is Arnold. “I should say my being a pambansang third wheel is solidified and becomes a notch higher in this romantic BL drama. Ilalaban ko talaga yung feelings ko for Mario and my character has sincere and pure intentions.”

Director Jill Singson Urdaneta avers: “The process of love and loving, of being loved and in love, everyone who will give us their time and support, they will witness it in Limited Edition. The many discoveries about one’s self, insecurities exposed, that willingness to compromise and sacrifice, to make a relationship work because all relationships need a lot of work and commitment to make it work. All these and more, are in this drama about romantic connections and everlasting possibilities.”

Other cast members are Donna Cariaga (Chona, Mario’s best friend), Michelle Jhoie Ferraris: as Mamita, Mario's nanay nanayan Miss Iyah Mina: Ivory, Mamita's rival Miss Yayo Aguila: Jethro's mom Miss Ruby Ruiz: Mario's mom Introducing are Anton Arceo, Aaron Concepcion, Celine Dorado and Luke Hembling

Story by Bernard Umali, screen play written John Fontanos with Jill Singson Urdaneta as its director. Produced by world-famous shoe designer Jojo Bragais, with Michelle Jhoie Ferraris as co-producer.

“Limited Edition” starts airing on October 2, 8pm, Saturday, on BRAGAIS TV.

12/20/2019 01:39:00 PM

How many of this type of love story we have seen on the big screen or on our TV sets? Well, probably this one of the most watched type of love story, poor boy meets rich girl, and together they fall in love and beat the odds. It’s a familiar trope we have seen again and again, but can’t seem to get enough of. After all, who doesn’t love a great romance story?

In the iWant original movie “Wild Little Love,” “Kadenang Ginto” co-stars Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin or SethDrea star in their first digital movie as a love team. Here, they play spoiled Sam and playboy Jake, who are paired together by fate as they try transcend the bounds of their socio-economic classes.

If you’re craving to watch stories of wildly different people proving their love for each other, here are modern love stories with a Cinderella twist you can watch on iWant:

1. Sam and Jake in “Wild Little Love”

When spoiled rich girl Sam (Andrea) is forced to go to a public school, she finds a savior in Jake (Seth). Even with her “maarte” demeanor, Jake finds a soft spot for Sam, who only wants to impress her father. Sam is also inspired by the hardworking boy who never lets his confidence falter. The two work on their own dreams and support each other only to be tested by the difference of their statuses in life.

2. Ella and Alex in “Basta’t Kasama Kita”

In one of the best Pinoy romcoms ever, Aga Muhlach plays a jeepney driver who accidentally meets Princess Ella (Dayanara Torres), who gets tired of security personnel monitoring her every move 24/7 and yearns for independence. But their “langit-lupa” situation is not what will threaten their budding relationship, but the fact that Ella keeps her real identity from him.

3. Sasa and Nico in “Babe, I Love You”

Nico (Sam Milby) is an architecture professor who is focused on his career, while Sasa (Anne Curtis) is a promo girl whose line of work is not exactly “acceptable” to him. They let each other go after their differences cause an overwhelming setback they can’t get behind, but unexpectedly reunite after a year in their second romantic meet cute in Quiapo.

4. Eya and Cross in “Diary ng Panget”

Who could forget the movie that showed JaDine had on-screen chemistry? “Diary ng Panget” features independent orphan Eya (Nadine Lustre), who works for rich bad boy Cross (James) to make ends meet. 5. Via and Gabriel in “Mula sa Puso: The Movie”

That spectacular bus explosion scene! And Princess Punzalan’s evil laugh! But seriously, we’re here for Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan’s soap opera film version. Via (Claudine) is a rich debutante who runs away from an arranged marriage and becomes – literally –a damsel in distress saved by her prince, taxi driver Gabriel (Rico). It’s not only their statuses that thwart their romance, but their parents’ secrets and complicated past.

6. Sean and Wendy in “The Prenup”

After a whirlwind romance, Sean (Sam Milby) and Wendy (Jennylyn Mercado) decide to tie the knot, but their overprotective families threaten to tear them apart. Distrustful of their future daughter-in-law’s intentions, Sean’s wealthy parents demand that the couple sign a prenuptial agreement.

Watch Theses 6 Friends-Turned-Lovers Stories in Pinoy Movies That Made us Believe Love is Worth The Jump on iWant

12/15/2019 09:10:00 AM

Love stories always make us feel good and teach us that love itself has its ups and downs. One interesting love story is when you fell in love with your bestfriend. Though it’s the ultimate unspoken rule—never fall for your best friend. But then again, can we really choose who we fall in love with? No words can describe how thrilling, scary, and kilig-filled the experience truly is when your dearest friend crosses boundaries to take even more care of you.

However, when things start to spiral, will you be prepared for the worst? For what’s more excruciating than losing both a lover and a friend?

This complicated situation is too common that it has become its own genre in Pinoy movies. Here are six friends-turned-lovers movie tandems that prove love is worth the shot, and you can watch them all on iWant:

1. ASHLEY AND CHUCK IN “SILLY RED SHOES”
Chuck (Kyle Echarri) may not have been the best shoemaker at first, but he strived to provide one perfect pair for Ashley (Francine Diaz). Even though she used to be insecure about her “alien feet,” Chuck never failed to raise her spirits. And in one big encounter that changed Ashley’s life, Chuck never surrendered and followed her as she went through one of the toughest times of her life.

2. BUJOY AND NED IN “LABS KITA, OKEY KA LANG?”
College bestfriends Bujoy (Jolina Magdangal) and Ned (Marvin Agustin) hid their feelings for one another at first, but it all changed when Ned confronted Bujoy with this iconic line: "Yes, kaibigan mo 'ko... Kaibigan mo lang ako. And I'm so stupid to make the biggest mistake of falling in love with my best friend!"

3. MAE AND BOGS IN “PAANO NA KAYA?”
Everyone thought Bogs (Gerald Anderson) was #cancelledt when Mae (Kim Chiu) blurted out, “Bogs, sana lumayo ka na lang, sana umiwas ka na lang, maiintindihan ko pa 'yun. Pero Bogs, syinota mo ako, e. Syinota mo ang best friend mo."

But hey, he turned it around and the two rode out the sunset together.

4. IVAN AND PATCHOT IN “MUST BE LOVE”
Ah, young love. We can’t really blame young chick magnet Ivan (Daniel Padilla) when he looked at one-of-the-boys Patchot (Kathryn Bernardo) as only a close friend and a basketball playmate at first. "May babaeng bine-bestfriend, at may babaeng gini-girlfriend," he said. But he took all those back when he realized Patchot had everything he wanted and needed.

5. CHANTEL AND NOAH IN “MY FAIRY TAIL LOVE STORY”
After Chantel (Janella Salvador) gets cursed with mermaid fins after disturbing some corals, trusty Noah (Elmo Magalona) never leaves her side and helps her find out how to cure her legs. Even when Chantel thinks it’s a kiss from DJ Ethan (Kiko Estrada) that will save her, Noah paves the way for her happiness until she finds out that it is Noah that she really needs.

6. CARSON AND DIO IN “I’M DRUNK, I LOVE YOU”
Over a music fest by the beach, plates of Bagnet, and bottles of booze—Carson (Maja Salvador) made sure to make her last roadtrip with bestfriend Dio (Paulo Avelino) an unforgettable one as she finally let out what she has kept for seven years. Timecheck!

This movie, Hintayan ng Langit, is brought to life by two of the renowned veteran actors, Eddie Garcia and Gina Pareno. We have known them in most of the top-grossing films and they sure encapsulate the characters in every film that they are involved with.

In the movie Hintayan ng Langit, one of the main character, Lisang has overstayed in her waiting room in purgatory, occasionally causing other souls trouble for her own entertainment. But today her waiting ends. Finally, she is set to cross over and her room is to be leased to a new tenant, Manolo, who turns out to be her newly-deceased ex-boyfriend. But life—or death—takes a heartbreaking turn as Lisang and Manolo get a second chance to get to know each other again and, in the process, begin to realize what it really means to be “alive” again. As Lisa and Manolo look back in retrospect and they examine the decisions they made in their lives, they can’t help but ask what if....

This is a film Globe Studios HAD to do, and I’m so proud and happy we’re giving everyone a chance to see it nationwide. It’s different. It’s touching. It stays with you. Movie Review : Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi

8/11/2018 06:39:00 AM

Chocnut, Foil, and Butterfly are just some of the things that you will definitely remember in the movie "Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi". It's a love story with a somehow fictional illness that can be possible. Specially now that we are in the age of technology, where different waves of frequencies are almost every where and almost everything is possible.

The movie "Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi" is a fictional love story that will give viewers a second thought about life and how people threat everyone around them. It is a love story that will let you learn things about love. Below are love phrases/ quotes that best suits for this story.
  • Love at first sight is true.
  • Love is blind, sometimes.
  • Loving unconditionally.
  • Your happiness is my happiness.
  • Love is hard work.
  • It's now what you feel but it's how you feel.

What I like also in this film is how they incorporated values, tradition and cultures of the past that is fading away because of the advancement in technology. The movie pays homage to those things for the appreciation of the current generation. Some of them are:
  • Teleponong lata (a DIY telephone toy using cans and cord), this is one of the toys played by the older generations when they were still kids.
  • Patintero were slightly introduced as well. It is a game with two teams competing to cross on bounding box.
  • Panliligaw (courting) were also recognized in the film since it is a love story. It was one of the lines of Boots Anson-Roa where she describes how courtship is hard during their time.
  • Snail Mail, with today's speed of communication it seems that snail mail has been setting aside and becoming less valuable but on this movie and since the character, Norma isn't allowed to be near any devices that emits signal this means of communications is just right for her.
  • Old devices like typewriter, cassette tape, tape recorder, and phonographs were introduced and value were explained.

Overall the movie does not only entertain viewers with the love story of the main characters Norma, Leo, and Aries but also gives information some of our diminishing values and culture.

It is another love story that is highly recommended for everyone not only to feel love but to appreciate the value of things around us.

The movie stars Sue Ramirez, Markus Peterson, Jameson Blake and is directed by award winning director Jun Robles Lana.

“What interested me most about the idea, when I came across a 2009 news report about a British man who was allergic to Wi-Fi, is the opportunity to explore the underlying sadness and emptiness of modern relationships,” shares Director Jun Robles Lana.

“Nowadays, with the advances of technology, no matter where we go, it’s so easy to get in touch with our loved ones. But a lot of our correspondence has also been reduced to emojis and likes and superficial interactions online. What happens if the technology that’s supposed to connect you to the whole world suddenly isolates you literally and takes away your freedom and the life you once lived and knew?”

“Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi” is Cignal Entertainment’s first venture into full length feature film production and is one of the eight feature films chosen by the Film Development Council of the Philippines for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018 happening in August.

Grade B by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), Janella and Elmo’s milestone project is directed by international award-winning director, producer and writer Perci Intalan, who had nothing but great words for his lead stars.

“Janella is born to be a real-life Disney Princess. She has the talent, the looks, the personality and the sheer energy,” sain Intalan, “Luckily, Elmo, also has a beautiful singing voice and complements her perfectly. And this allowed us to create a pivotal musical moment in the film where the audience will just know what that this couple is meant to be together.”

Intalan, who also worked as an executive producer at the Walt Disney Company for six years, further shared that “My Fairy Tail Love Story” is the right material that he had been waiting for after his internationally acclaimed, Nora Aunor –starrent 2014 film “Dimentia”.
