BEN&BEN Brings New Flavor to Bread's "Make It With You"

12/22/2019 02:53:00 PM

Indie folk-pop band Ben&Ben brings in a different flavor, a unique musicality, and a spirited rendition of the song “Make It With You,” which will be used as the official theme song of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s return to television in 2020.

Originally sung by American soft rock band Bread, “Make It With You” reflects on the freshness and beauty of finding someone that you want to be with despite the uncertainty of love. It also evokes hope of togetherness, of wanting to be with a special person through thick and thin.

The band members were obviously thrilled to announce the new project under Star Music, writing “ma, may teleserye theme song na kami huhu,” on their Facebook page.

YouTube subscribers were also ecstatic with the single’s release. “Bread fan here, Ben&Ben gave justice to this song, hope they could make more Bread covers,” Morris Isla posted as comment on the “Make It With You” lyric video, which is currently trending on the video streaming platform.

Meanwhile, LizQuen fans hailed the band’s beautiful rendition. “Ang gandaaaa,” LizQuen TFC Global posted on Twitter.

Ben&Ben rose to fame through popular hits such as “Kathang Isip,” “Leaves,” “Pagtingin” and “Maybe The Night.” Just recently, the nine-member group was also named as one of the most streamed artists on Spotify in the Philippines for 2019.

Meanwhile, the LizQuen-starrer series “Make It With You” is set for an early 2020 airing on ABS-CBN. The story revolves around an OFW working in Croatia—where some of the show’s scenes have been shot—and a young man finding joy in his life.

Listen to Ben&Ben’s “Make It With You” on Spotify and on ABS-CBN Star Music’s YouTube channel.

Moira's “YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE” Cover Used In U.S. DRUG AWARENESS VIDEO

12/21/2019 02:43:00 PM

An interesting news about Moira dela Torre and her song cover. It isn't just been known locally but will be reaching more ears. Moira’s “You Are My Sunshine” rendition gave a touching accompaniment to a high school video that won in the Elks Drug Awareness Program in the United States because of its throbbing depiction of how drug use affects families and leads to loss of loved ones.

The “Sunshine” video—featuring a progression of a precious baby girl into a rebellious teenager who got entangled in drug use—received the National Award for Best High School Video Public Service Announcement in August this year.

Moira’s heartwarming recording, released as part of the soundtrack of the 2018 Filipino film “Meet Me in St. Gallen,” was used in the “Sunshine” video directed by Sandy Beach (EMHS ’19) representing El Modena High School in California and produced by EMTV.

The contest organizer, Elks Drug Awareness Program, later partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice and a popular YouTube channel, FBE (19M subscribers), to produce a reaction video which features the winning video, “Sunshine,” as well as some former drug addicts talking about their painful journey and recovery.

Fiery Style Southwestern Flaming Grill Spiced Up The Parkway Wing of SM City Fairview

12/21/2019 12:58:00 AM

Fiery Style Southwestern Flaming Grill is one of the growing companies in the food and restaurant industry that sets up a new branch in the Northern part of Quezon City in SM City Fairview, one of the known malls in the area. You'll find this location very far from the Metro and is almost at the boundary of Bulacan. This place is maybe far but I'm sure you'll find this place filled with so many things to go to.

To spice up the newest wing of SM City Fairview Parkway, Fiery Style is just the right Tex-Mex restaurant to place in this part of the mall, as they provide quite a variety of dishes to choose from.

Opening its doors to nearby residences, Fiery Style is already receiving quite many guests. The lining up of the crowd in the lobby only proves that people are interested in this Tex-Mex restaurant. I'm a testament to this as I'm one of the guests to partake in their flavorful dishes.

The place isn't big but it can accommodate several guests that will be there to dine and enjoy the live band, especially during weekends. There are plenty of delectable dishes but there are few that interests my palate. For this food journey, I liked their Steak and the Galleon of Bones. I do like the concept of how different dishes were mixed in one serving. Good for a group of four or more. While the steak ala familia is tender enough to bite and feel the juiciness.

Thirsty or not, you can also enjoy their cocktails and drinks. You can enjoy the night away.

Other dishes that might interest you are the Lord of the Wings, which is a selection of chicken wings in different flavors; their tasty Cheesecake for dessert; the Chili Beef Quesadilla that fills your palate; and of course their Fiery Nachos that is coined as the best nachos in town.

Enjoy your dine at Fiery Style! They are open 10AM to 9PM on Mondays to Thursday and 10AM to 10PM on Weekends.

Enjoy and see you around!

6 Mayaman-Mahirap" Romances To Watch on iWant, Love Beats All Odds

12/20/2019 01:39:00 PM

How many of this type of love story we have seen on the big screen or on our TV sets? Well, probably this one of the most watched type of love story, poor boy meets rich girl, and together they fall in love and beat the odds. It’s a familiar trope we have seen again and again, but can’t seem to get enough of. After all, who doesn’t love a great romance story?

In the iWant original movie “Wild Little Love,” “Kadenang Ginto” co-stars Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin or SethDrea star in their first digital movie as a love team. Here, they play spoiled Sam and playboy Jake, who are paired together by fate as they try transcend the bounds of their socio-economic classes.

If you’re craving to watch stories of wildly different people proving their love for each other, here are modern love stories with a Cinderella twist you can watch on iWant:

1. Sam and Jake in “Wild Little Love”

When spoiled rich girl Sam (Andrea) is forced to go to a public school, she finds a savior in Jake (Seth). Even with her “maarte” demeanor, Jake finds a soft spot for Sam, who only wants to impress her father. Sam is also inspired by the hardworking boy who never lets his confidence falter. The two work on their own dreams and support each other only to be tested by the difference of their statuses in life.

2. Ella and Alex in “Basta’t Kasama Kita”

In one of the best Pinoy romcoms ever, Aga Muhlach plays a jeepney driver who accidentally meets Princess Ella (Dayanara Torres), who gets tired of security personnel monitoring her every move 24/7 and yearns for independence. But their “langit-lupa” situation is not what will threaten their budding relationship, but the fact that Ella keeps her real identity from him.

3. Sasa and Nico in “Babe, I Love You”

Nico (Sam Milby) is an architecture professor who is focused on his career, while Sasa (Anne Curtis) is a promo girl whose line of work is not exactly “acceptable” to him. Who could forget the movie that showed JaDine had on-screen chemistry? “Diary ng Panget” features independent orphan Eya (Nadine Lustre), who works for rich bad boy Cross (James) to make ends meet. At first, the two squabble like cats and dogs, but eventually end up having feelings for each other. Cross only makes his romantic confession with the help of Eya’s diary.

5. Via and Gabriel in “Mula sa Puso: The Movie”

That spectacular bus explosion scene! And Princess Punzalan’s evil laugh! But seriously, we’re here for Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan’s soap opera film version. Via (Claudine) is a rich debutante who runs away from an arranged marriage and becomes – literally –a damsel in distress saved by her prince, taxi driver Gabriel (Rico). It’s not only their statuses that thwart their romance, but their parents’ secrets and complicated past.

6. Sean and Wendy in “The Prenup”

After a whirlwind romance, Sean (Sam Milby) and Wendy (Jennylyn Mercado) decide to tie the knot, but their overprotective families threaten to tear them apart. Distrustful of their future daughter-in-law’s intentions, Sean’s wealthy parents demand that the couple sign a prenuptial agreement.

Coco Defends Country from War in “FPJ’S ANG PROBINSYANO’S” Fourth Year

12/20/2019 01:23:00 PM

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s” Cardo has endured unimaginable threats to his job, community, and family. But in the fourth year of the country’s longest-running drama-action series, primetime TV’s everyday hero is facing his biggest mission: to protect the whole Philippines against its gravest conflict yet.

“Next year, our story will be the story of the world. A big, big war will happen. It will be packed with more action, more drama, and more intense scenes. It won’t just be about Cardo and his family, but the entire country,” said Coco Martin, who serves as the lead star, creative head, and one of the directors of the program.

According to the King of Television, they will start shooting scenes in different areas in and out of the country for the program’s next chapter in January. Hollywood actors have already been confirmed to join the series, he added.

“What have we not encountered yet? What else does Cardo have to go through? We want to give people different flavors, different stories so everyone can relate to it. It has to be a new experience every time,” said Coco.

He added that 430 actors and actresses have had guest appearances in the already star-studded program, including Judy Ann Santos, Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Angelica Panganiban, and Christopher De Leon.

Meanwhile, Yassi Pressman expressed her appreciation and gratefulness for playing Alyana, Cardo’s wife and now a newly elected barangay captain whom she has come to love. “Alyana and the program have changed my life. I look up to her. She is good, kind, loving – all of the characteristics of a respectable woman.”

Viewers should also watch out for when Yassi and Coco have another baby as they prepare to rebuild their family, after the unfortunate death of their eldest son two years ago.

“We both have careers, how will we maintain our relationship? Having kids will add flavor and color to the story. It’s also a concern of Filipinos -- having to spend time with and caring for their children. That’s what we want to show as well, that we are a solid family,” said Yassi.

Amidst plot twists and foreign actors joining the show, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” aims to showcase and reflect real-life experiences that are distinctly Filipino, said Coco.

“We have an obligation to the viewers. We will do everything so that every night they watch our show is worth it and does not disappoint them. They motivate us, they are the reason we wake up and go on every day, however we are feeling. They are our inspiration. Thank you all so much,” said Coco.

Don’t miss the action and lessons in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” weeknights on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167).

Why did we come to a speculation that Ion Perez feels bad with Vice Ganda, well, there's one answer of Vice during the conference that probably made Ion feel bad or 'nagtampo' with Vice, it's the time that Ion asked Vice with the big WHY? Why couldn't they show and express their love for each other in public?

Here's what Vice said in the conference, "....nung nagtanong siya kung bakit hindi pwedeng sabihin…. yong tungkol sa 'ming dalawa. Ba't di pwedeng sabihin, ba't di pwedeng aminin.

Yam Concepcion and Joseph Marco in an iWant Series about Separated but Living Under One Roof entitled "Uncoupling"

12/19/2019 01:56:00 PM

What can go wrong when timing is a bit unfriendly? Well, just got into a media conference of this new series that will air on iWant this coming December 20. The iWant series stars Yam Concepcion and Joseph Marco in a story of failed relationship while living under one roof, "Uncoupling".

According to its director Dwein Baltazar, they got the idea of the story after hearing and learning that some of the big foreign actors and actresses revealed that they are uncoupled already. Thus, creating this light, funny but realistic story that revolves around the story of Alex played by Yam Concepcion and Carlo portrayed by Joseph Marco who decides to become friends after their marriage crumbles - all for the sake of their only son.

This is husband and wife who have fallen out of love and have been struggling, for years, to save their marriage. On the eve their anniversary, they mutually decide to "uncouple" and live their separate lives while figuring out how to keep their family intact. Probably, one setting that is uncomfortable and uncontrollable.

Their plan is all set and all is well until reality sets in. It does not take too long before their devoted in-laws enter the already complex picture and try to get them back together.

As they go into an uncharted territory, will Alex and Carlo be able to protect their son from the grief over their complicated setup? Is it really possible for two parents and former lovers to move on from each other while being together?

Sincere and sprinkled with lighthearted comedy, "Upcoming" tackles the reality of married couples' struggles today.

Co-produced by iWant and Big Reveal Entertainment, "Uncoupling" is directed by Dwein Baltazar, who also directed the acclaimed iWant original series "Past, Present, Perfect?," wrote the blockbuster movie "Exes Baggage," and won Best Director and Bes Screenplay for her movie "Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus" - also named Best Picture - at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Science (FAMAS) Awards 2019.

Watch and stream "Uncoupling" for free starting on Friday, December 20 on the iWant app or iwant.ph.
