The International Cabin Attendant raining School or ICATS celebrated its 9th Anniversary with their groundbreaking new programs and the introduction of their new scholars. ICATS moving onwards with more new heights to conquer.

ICATS was once the dream of its CEO Princess Joy Garcia and her co-founders. Now, reality has taken place and it is now the country's premier flight attendant school.  It is established in 2009 and it has been helping Filipinos pursue their dream career as a flight attendant through its innovative programs taught by top-notch and modern facilities.


The story of its humble beginning started way back in 2010 with just 3 enrollees. Still, persistent to make ICATS a premiere school for flight attendants they continue until 2014, ICATS experienced a rapid increase in enrollees, which prompted the schools to transfer to a bigger venue to accommodate all their students. By 2017, ICATS geared for another expansion and transferred to its current location at the Philippine Stock Exchange Center in Pasig where they created the Cabin Trainer, a replica of an aircraft's Business and Economy class setting for aircraft familiarization, emergency procedures, and in-flight services to give trainees a better grasp on real-world scenarios.


Currently, ICATS has more than 1,173 graduates who hold vital positions in prestigious local and international commercial airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Oman Air, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Air Asia, among others.

Just recently, the school became of the few TESDA-accredited flight attendant schools in the country and is a recipient of TESDA's Elite business and Leadership Awards in 2019, which will be awarded in May, for its exemplary training programs.


As the innovations in aviation goes on and brings more changes, so is ICATS. Through the years, ICATS has made its name in the airline service industry and in recent years has expanded its offerings to cater professionals in other industries.

With the celebration of ICATS 9th Anniversary, the school brings new wave of programs. 'Man and Wife,' is a Mother's Day offering from Cineko Films and to be distributed by Cinescreen, tells the story of Carding, which is played by Gabby and Luisa, which is played by Jodi, a married couple torn between their love for each other and issues of their respective families. This is just some of the problems encountered by married couples.



Carding's family, led by his mother and mayor of the town, Menang, played by Liza Lorena, permits abusive mining companies to operate in their place affected the agricultural lands, including the one run by Luisa's sibling, Totoy, which is played by EA Guzman.

As the couple tries to stick together amid the rift between their families, they realize that the process is more complicated than they anticipated - Carding comes in conflict with his mother; Luisa with Totoy and her other siblings. This makes them question their decision of building their own family.

One more thing that I like what he said is about the names plastered in government projects. It's true that infras and facilities put up through the government officials effort should not be marked with their names because that is their duty to the people.

I hope someone should raise that in congress because that's the people's money from their taxes.

Our favorite Rebisco celebrates its 55th Anniversary with  a love to spread its anniversary joy to its grassroots business partners.

As part of its 55th year celebration, Rebisco awarded 55 lucky sari-sari store owners with store makeover and products for each. The winners were selected among hundreds of small business proprietors who shared their stories detailing how the snack food giant has made an impact on their lives and businesses.

According to Rebisco President Jonathan C. Ng, the project was borne out of a simple yet poignant motivation: to express gratitude. “Sari-sari stores are crucial to our business model,” he said. “These entrepreneurs are our loyal and hardworking community partners who help nourish Rebisco’s continued growth and success. This project is one of many ways we want to give back, by empowering them and their businesses.”

Shining the spotlight

Of the 55 winners, three were featured in an online video recently released by Rebisco.


Ester Recinto, a 66-year-old sari-sari store owner from Batangas, runs a strategically located store near an elementary school. She started selling in 1974, with a P300 capital. Over the years, she was able to grow her business from a cabinet display of Rebisco products to an actual store.


Twenty-two-year-old Naname Dahoya from Cebu started a sari-sari store to help augment her parents’ meager income and support her six siblings. She calls Rebisco her “superhero” because the company’s popular snacks helped her small business grow, thus providing her and her family a more stable income.


The third featured winner is Sally Angulo from Zamboanga del Norte. At first, Sally only sold condiments and vegetables but eventually realized that there was a market for snacks. After researching her options, she decided to sell Rebisco products because of its high-quality products at more affordable prices.

“We hope that their stories inspire others to persevere amid adversities,” Rebisco Trade Marketing Head Michelle Ceniza said. “We are grateful to our partner sari-sari store owners for their loyalty and patronage these past five decades. It truly is an honor for Rebisco to be an instrument to the success of their business.”

Stronger partnership

After a momentous year-long anniversary celebration, Rebisco looks to the future with optimism.

“We look forward to sharing more successful years with our sari-sari store partners,” Ng added.

From two different bracket of generation, Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto is paired together in a movie under Black Sheep entitled Between Maybes. A story brought to life by Jason Paul Laxamana about two people who found peace in the mist unlikeliest places: in each other's company.

This is the first time team up of Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto on the big screen. Also an interesting shot on location in Saga, Japan. Of course Japan is one of the richest preserve culture with such serenity and environment is so calm.

About the story of Between Matbes, Julia Barretto plays the character of Hazel, an actress experiencing troubles in her career and not having control of her life, in other words the character is feeling lost and wanting to escape from her present situation. As reaction to her situation she books a random flight and eventually ends up in the secluded prefecture of Saga, Japan. There she finds an unexpected confidante in the character of Louie, which played by Gerald Anderson, who isolate his life afar from his famiky after a heartbreak.


The two develop a functio al relationship. Hazel asks Louie to check on her as she's nit used to being on her own. Whike Louie finds Hazel's company and noise amusing, as it's a break from his simole world lacking human connection. Amidst the silence and isolation, Hazel and Louie find comfort in each other as yhey both needed iy at that certain point in their lives. But knowing far apart their worlds are, they can only hold on to the belief thatthat some encounters are special because of how fleeting they are.

The characters being portrayed by the two, Anderson and Barretto seems have a connection with them as they have something been up to with their life in the past. Julia's recent trip to South America was a means to take a step back and recalibrate from her busy schedule while Gerald felt that isolation often feels like a good choice just to get away from his life, even only for a while.

As for the process of Direk Laxamana, he makes his actors went through a series of workshops. What made this film even interesting is that majority of the film is shot in Japan during the bloom of the Sakura trees. A perfect serene place for the film. Plus the movie is themed with a song 'Your Universe' by Rico Blanco with a brand new version created specifically for the film by Acel, the original singer of Moonstar88.

For those who are seeking for an escape, you might need a dose of Black Sheep and Jason Paul Laxamana's refreshing take on fleeting romances and little moments that linger forever. After the loud noises of the election season and the endliss superhero brawls on multiplexes, maybe it's time to experience the beauty of Between Maybes.

The first nominee is Agakhan Tomawis, he is the son of Acmad Maruhom Tomawis, the one who organized the party in Marawi City in February 2003, after a series of consultations and meetings with leaders of the indigenous cultural communities, including Muslim Filipinos. While Lorenzo Rellosa is the President and CEO of a multi-level marketing company, Telepreneur Corporation. He is also from a family with political background.

One of the great pa-fall actors in the romance genre in the Philippine Film Industry, John Lloyd Cruz, is believed to be making his comeback with the surfacing of his photos and videos online. The matinee idol has been in hiatus with his showbiz career since 2017.

Lloydie, one of the most sought actors in Philippine cinema and a very effective endorser proved that his fans are still waiting for his return. In a teaser video, which lasted only for a few seconds and only shows the back shot of Cruz’s, and posted in the Facebook page of the number one selling shawarma Turks a few weeks ago had been viewed 3.2M times, shared almost 800 times and gained a huge number of comments.

Without any clue in that teaser video, his fans already assumed that it was him in the video. Actress Bea Alonzo on her Instagram also posted a screenshot of that teaser video, which garnered almost a million likes.

This Monday morning Turks finally revealed in the 1-minute and 17 seconds video of Cruz showing the actor walking through different destinations, which somehow depicts Cruz’s sojourn. The video is very simple, yet there’s drama the way it was created, and in a very subtle shot, he stopped and took a bite of a Turks pita doner.

The rugged look of Cruz in the Turks video titled Ang Pagbabalik is way too far from his guy-next-door image and a lot of people in the industry are asking if this signals his return to the limelight. His fans are still wondering about the life he’s been living since his hiatus.

According to Turks president Gem L. Zenarosa that during the course of his talks with Cruz, they never talked anything about his showbiz career or plans. He added that he got Mr. Cruz as the latest ambassador of Turks because of his great confidence working with Cruz.

“I am really grateful that John Lloyd trusts our company, he is a brilliant and very creative young man. Aside from acting we have discovered some of his remarkable talents,” Zenarosa stressed.

The Ang Pagbabalik according to Zenarosa is actually about Turks Small Pita Doner, which will be available again in all its branches.

“John Lloyd is the best endorser for this because like him, despite his absence in the showbusiness for a couple of years, the warmth and love of his fans for him never dwindles.
