Flawless Chocolates Made Even Better by Delfi

11:13:00 PM

Why are chocolates so succulently good? Because chocolates, to be very, very good, are supposed to be processed with perfection in mind and thus, there is no room for error. Everyone wants to eat chocolate so it has to be of excellent quality to be truly outstanding.

This is what Delfi, a top chocolate confectionery brand, always bears in mind in the manufacture of their world class-quality chocolates. Through meticulous research, including time-perfected recipes plus safe handling and processing of top-quality raw materials, Delfi is now able to make chocolates as perfect as possible to meet consumers’ discriminating demands.

To make everything perfect, Delfi, brought here in the Philippines by Delfi Foods, Inc., makes sure that the quality of each product that comes out of their factory is really top of the line. All necessary ingredients are infused on its products, like Goya and Knick Knacks, for example, and carefully handled to make them perfect in taste. “Aside from being an art, chocolate making is also a science. Precise timing and temperature of the cocoa is always carefully observed to make that signature Delfi taste in every Goya chocolate,” explains Nilo Chincuanco, General Manager of Delfi Foods, Inc.

The scientific side in making Goya involves putting up a dedicated team of product experts to oversee all chocolate-making activities and at the same time, rigorous safety and quality standards are met or even surpassed to make the perfect chocolate.

With the Delfi Quality Management System in place, plus globally recognized manufacturing standards like ISO 22000, HALAL certification, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as set by the Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), all products that roll out of its factory are of more-than-adequate quality and free from other food safety hazards in order to protect the consumer.

“The credibility of the brand is at stake here so we cannot let our guards down. We continually find ways, through painstaking research and development efforts, on how to make our chocolates perfectly delicious and yet absolutely safe,” says Chincuanco.

Surely, with the breadth of food quality certification standards they put in place, Delfi is still able to make their Goya products affordable for every Pinoy. “Though affordable, it is no excuse to sacrifice quality and food safety. These two are always on top of our minds and are always in place in the entire manufacturing process,” Chincuanco adds further.

There is no denying that the perfect chocolate is made out of thorough and careful research, the best ingredients available, and proper food manufacturing processes—and Delfi makes sure that their Goya and Knick Knacks products has them all to make perfectly delectable chocolates.

Wanting for that ideal and faultless chocolate? The next time you crave for superb-tasting and extraordinary chocolates, try Goya Chocolates that come in bars, bite sizes, panned, wafers and other products that are a perfect fit to the Filipino chocolate palate and of course, Knick Knacks. These premium-quality and affordable brands are what every chocolate-loving Filipino rightfully deserves—and should not miss.

So head off to the nearest major supermarkets, leading groceries and convenience stores nationwide—and even pharmacies, too, and heartily share those delightfully-tasting Goya and Knick Knacks chocolates with your family and friends. It’s the best way to spend any chocolate day.

Why Noel Cabangon tops the music sales charts

9:41:00 PM

There is undeniably something in Noel Cabangon that his albums sell, amidst the prevailing problems of the local recording industry. The Platinum singer-songwriter is one of the local recording industry’s most bankable acts with multi-platinum record awards given to his previous albums Byahe and Panaginip.

Noel continues his winning streak as his latest album Tuloy Ang Byahe, under Universal Records, instantly topped the music charts when it was released topping recordings of popular teen stars, and international acts.

The album, also the top album in the downloading site www.mymusicstore.com.ph, has been on the record bars’ sales chart since it was released less than two months ago.

“There is something with the way Noel Cabangon performs songs – heartfelt and sincere,” says Christian Bautista. “Every music-loving Filipino should complete their Noel Cabangon collection. These are treasures of OPM.”

Tuloy Ang Byahe is a follow-up to the hit Byahe, released more than two years ago. It features Noel’s renditions of some of the most loved OPM classics, originally performed by icons Smokey Mountain, Leah Navarro, VST and Company, Dulce, APO, Freddie Aguilar, Florante, Rey Valera, Hotdog, Zsa Zsa Padilla, among others.

The album’s carrier single Tuwing Umuulan At Kapiling Ka is currently enjoying good airplay on radio.

In celebration of the success of his albums, Noel will be having a Music Museum concert billed Tuloy Ang Byahe this September 28. He will be joined by Christian Bautista, Gloc-9 and other special guests.

The concert, produced and directed by PETA, celebrates the finest OPM compositions in hours of good music. For tickets, please call Ticketworld at 891-9999.

Noel Cabangon is being managed by Orion Entertainment. For inquiries and bookings, please call 0916-4140358 or email gian.vizcarra@orionentertainment.com.ph, olrac1023@gmail.com.

1:00:00 PM

Press Release
Last year's top-4 in the mens' race will once again be on the startline to fight for the win at KMD Challenge Copenhagen - the biggest iron distance race in Northern Europe and second largest in the Challenge Family.

KMD Challenge Copenhagen has developed into the biggest annual sports event in Denmark and one of the biggest iron distance events in the World. The 2,000 athletes, the over 150,000 spectators and the beautiful course in the heart of a major European capital make this a giant event.

Almost sold out for iron distance event - triathlon party 3rd year in a row KMD Challenge Copenhagen only has a few slots left this year and 2,000 athletes will start the race from the lagune with a 3,8 km swim at Amager Beach Park, head through Copenhagen and north at open roads and rolling hills on the two looped 180 km bike course before heading out on the marathon course by the Copenhagen habour front where 150,000 spectators will create a true triathlon party.

KMD Challenge Copenhagen has developed into the biggest annual sports event in Denmark and one of the biggest iron distance events in the World. The 2,000 athletes, the over 150,000 spectators and the beautiful course in the heart of a major European capital makes this a giant event.

"Iron distance triathlon is very special and has an energy and a soul like no other sports. The combination of some of the fittest athletes in the World competing alongside 'ordinary' people makes iron distance triathlon a tale of big performances and personal victories and is a place for the big emotions and life changing experiences. When all the emotions, the suffering, the tears and the personal fights are unveiled at the finish line is a unique place to be and magic appears again and again," Thomas Veje Olsen says.

Fast, Danish runners wants to top the podium The men's race have top-4 from last year back fighting it out for the win in the Copenhagen streets. Only two minutes separated all four men last year but is was Aussie Tim Berkel who snathed his second consecutive win only 35 seconds in front of Dane Jimmy Johnsen. The two had battled out a nerve wrecking final run shoulder to shoulder, testing each others limits late in the run before Berkel broke away on the final few kilometers to take the win. Jimmy Johnsen was second and took home the Danish Championship title while Croat Dejan Patrcevic took 3rd just in front of the fast runner, Mads Vittrup-Pedersen who clocked a race best marathon of 2:38:59.

The Danish favorites is once again Johnsen and Vittrup-Pedersen with Berkel and Patrcevic are among the international favorites along with the runner up from 2010 Keegan Williams and Joseph Spindler. Can Berkel three peat or will on of the Danes finally be able to take top honor in the biggest race in Denmark? Both Johnsen and Vittrup-Pedersen are fast on the bike and can run the marathon in the low and mid 2:40'ies. With Vittrup-Pedersen's 2:38:59 is a course record Johnsen managed a 2:44:01 last year.

In the women's race two-time champ Rebekah Keat will not defend her title. The pre race favorites must be: Diana Riesler and Edith Niederfriniger.

The race climaxes in front of the Danish Parliament Building at around 3pm Sunday August 12.

Fun Triathlons are very popular The 'Fun Triathlon' KMD 4:18:4 has been organized since 2010 for those who wanted to try out a short distance and it was an immediate success. This year more than 3.000 will try the sport of triathlon in KMD 4:18:4 in the days leading up to the iron distance race.

"Danes have really embraced the sport of triathlon the last three years. Last year 2,000 Danes tried triathlon in KMD 4:18:4 and we expect 3,000 this year. A 50 % increase in participants really show how popular triathlon has become and with 5,000 athletes competing in the triathlon events this setup is one of the biggest in the World," Race Director Thomas Veje Olsen says.

Fra Lippo Lippi’s Per Sorensen is Master of Imperfection

2:37:00 PM

Those who have been listening in the new wave era knows this guy and I'm sure everyone would love to hear some of his music again.  Here's some details about him and his album.

International singer-songwriter Per Sorensen, the voice behind the bestselling Norwegian music export Fra Lippo Lippi, has released his new solo albumMaster of Imperfection, which includes his new recordings of Fra Lippo Lippi’s classics Later and Beauty and Madness.

The album has Loneliness as his first single and a cover of James Taylor’s Fire and Rain.

Master of Imperfection highlights the endearing vulnerability to Per’s voice, where melancholia pours down to the cracks of these tracks.

Per adds, “In 1986, I wrote the song Beauty and Madness with lyricist Rune Kristoffersen for the upcoming Fra Lippo Lippi album Light and Shade (1987). You're either too young to remember, or too old, for that matter. Anyway, I love that song, so I re-recorded it for this album. Hope you like it, too!”

Master of Imperfection includes ten songs, which, hopefully, will lift music fans’ souls for some forty `minutes

"Master of Imperfection" Tracklist:

  1. I Hurt You
  2. Tell Me Once
  3. Will I Recognize
  4. Beauty and Madness
  5. Later
  6. The Truth Behind Our Lies
  7. Loneliness
  8. The Waiting Game
  9. It Could Be Nice
  10. Fire and Rain

SM City Sta Mesa 3 day Sale Experience

10:30:00 PM

SM City Sta Mesa or commonly called SM Centerpoint has indeed made another point to their patron consumers with their latest sale this Aug 3, 4 & 5 and today was their last day of sale.  Though, last day it still looks like the first day because of the huge crowd coming in and out of the mall.

It was afternoon and I know most people went to the mall during this time to spend some bonding moments or just simply to pass time.  So I was there together with my wife and my eldest son, Maki.  My theme for this specific sale is UNDERGARMENTS, like underwear and socks.  Yes, I hunted for this specific clothing because I badly need to have new pairs of these items.  Some of my undergarment belongings were near turning into bacon garters and for the pair of socks some were already worn out.  So I really need to have new ones.

Not really sure if I'm going to find a good bargain or sale this time because as far as I know most men's clothing are much more expensive than ladies.  So, hunting for some good buys may take some time.  To my surprise I just finish my hunt in just a few minutes.  What I got was a bench underwear which cost around Php369 with 10% discount.  It's in pack of three which comes with a pouch which I can use later as storage of other items, not much of a discount but still I was able to get other than the underwear.  I also grab a Burlington socks that also comes in pack of three which cost Php150 which is a good buy also.  Then, since my son is with us and I wanted to teach him the value of money I bought his a coin bank with a shape of a dragon.  Playful enough to save money.

Here are some other pictures that I have taken during our hunt also thanks to Lot's A Pizza for pizza.

These experience is not brag about what we got on sale but to share how discounts and sales can help us all stretch that hard earned money.   So the next time you're in a sale make sure to get what you planned for. Stick to it!

Happy Shopping.

BAYANI... ANG TATAY KO... Premieres Today, August 5

6:49:00 AM

Filipinos are noted to have a very significant and positive attitude in handling difficulties in life. Others may also treat their predicaments in sort of “cool” manners, which the Pinoys are really known for. M&N Films have come up with a brilliant idea of ideally showing to the public the film “Bayani Ang Tatay Ko.” An indie film about life, its struggles... it’s about presenting life’s most vivid moments with the people we love. This film not only wishes to instill family values but also provide entertainment and at the same time honors the law enforcers.

Actor-comedian and host Bayani Agbayani plays SPO3 Nicanor Corpuz , a decorated cop, loving dad and husband to his wife Susan played by Yayo Aguila, and son, Adrian played by child actor Yogo Singh. They live a simple, happy life until an incident took their lives on a different turn. One morning while in the police detachment where he is working, Taning played by Rommel Montano, a toughie from an influential family came looking for his colleague, SPO1 Joey Ponce. Ponce apparently shut down his illegal “videokarera” business and refused to accept a bribe, making the latter furious. Taning was scandalizing the station so he took a policewoman, SPO2 Pinky Madrigal hostage prompting Nick to defend his colleague.

Nick was suspended from service and he turned to selling “isaw” to make ends meet. Failing to do so, his wife Susan decided to go to Hongkong to work as a domestic helper. To help him in his business, Susan sent his brother, Ading played by Gene Padilla to help Nick tend to the isaw business. But the former cop realized that he is not cut for business, so he asked for his ninong, Col. Roberto Ugarte to give him an assignment. Colonel Ugarte referred him to the city hall where he worked as a traffic enforcer. As a traffic enforcer, Nick has learned to be happy with his new job because he wears a uniform and arrests violators. It was at this time when he was informed that his colleague, Ponce has remained missing since the precinct incident; SPO1 Fernandez had been looking for him. Worse, his wife Susan called to tell him she was victimized by an illegal recruiter.

All these tribulations that had happened to Nick and his family occurred very untimely. Witness how will a typical Filipino family face these challenges in a comedic and a bit of dramatic way with a sting of action to highlight the story.

Joining the lead stars are actor/model and ex-PBB housemate, Johann Santos, Ms. Jet Claveria, Butch Elizalde, Pinoy T.A.L.K. host Paul Quimbo, Ms. Jing Javier and Paulo Ponce and is under the helm of Ellen Argano. “Bayani...Ang Tatay Ko...” is one of the official entries to the 2nd PNP Film Festival and subsequently, the awarding will take place at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on August 7, 2012.

Preventing crime, reducing its fear and ensuring the improvement of every citizen’s quality of life are no way an easy job. So let us all salute the gentle officers... the all-time “bayani” of every community.

TOFARM, An Award Giving Body for Pinoy Farmers

10:33:00 PM

Have you been to a Farm? Have you tried working in a Farm? Well, I'm sure lots of the present generation would scratch their heads and wonder what's a farm really looks like. Perhaps most of the present generation have seen farms in online games like Farmville, in which at least helped in informing the young ones of how Farms works. In my part, though born and raised in a city life, I get to experienced living in the province with my grandparents. Getting your hands and feet dirty when farming.

A few weeks ago my correspondent Jefferson Montas was able to attend and witness the media launch of TOFARM, it is the search for THE OUTSTANDING FARMERS of the Philippines. An award giving body that recognizes the hard work of Filipino farmers, men and women. Today's farmers or the modern farmers includes those in the agri-business, fisher folk, animal raisers, co-ops, farm communities, scientists, the academe, Gus, both urban and rural.

Junior Chamber International, Philippines and Universal Harvester, Inc. joins together in a dream of reviving the glory of Philippine agriculture by promoting farming as noble, lucrative profession, especially for the youth. This is because the agricultural sector plays the most crucial part in our survival as a people.

According to them, most of today's generation are no longer interested in tilling their fathers land and they prefer to pursue city jobs or become doctors, lawyers and engineers. Just like our National hero Jose Rizal said, not all can be doctors. Some will have to stay and cultivate the land. That is why the JCI and Universal Harvester's mission and vision is to make agriculture attractive for the next generations and for the entire country once again. And for a long term goal JCI and Universal Harvester, Inc. wants the Philippines to excel in farming, to be competitive on the world stage, to produce more so that we can feed our own and not to rely on importing crops and produce.

According to TOFARM Project Chairman Rommel Cunanan they will give out 11 awards for this year, six for the individual category and five for the group category. They'll be looking for the awardee from Farmer, Fisherfolk, Livestock, Agri-Entrepreneur, young Farmer, Agricultural Innovator and Urban/City Farmer for the individual category while on the group category will be from Agriculture Cooperative, Family Farmer, Local Government unit, Agricuture Initiatives and People's Choice.

The nomination period for Outstanding Farmer candidates begins August 1 and will end on September 30. Validation and Judging of nominees will take place in October and November, while the Awarding takes place in December.

Nominations may be submitted as hard copy or sent online to www.tofarm.org. Nomination forms may be downloaded from the website.

For more information, call the TOFARM Hotline 709-5001 to 54, fax 709-5006 or email info.tofarm@gmail.com.
