Royal Indulgence: Experiencing Manila Prince Hotel's Marcelino Cafe

8:35:00 PM

Live like royalty! That's exactly what my wife and I did when we recently visited Marcelino Cafe at Manila Prince Hotel for a delightful after-office dinner date. Luckily, it was a smooth Monday with no traffic hassles, allowing us to arrive just in time for the buffet opening. Yes, you heard it right – a buffet!

If you've been following this blog, you know I'm a food enthusiast, and buffets never fail to excite my taste buds. Marcelino Cafe, one of the restaurants within the Manila Prince Hotel, offers a diverse and sumptuous array of dishes—a true smorgasbord for those with an adventurous palate.

Before diving into the gastronomic details, let's shed light on Marcelino Cafe itself. Located at Marcelino Street, it embraces a local vibe, providing a memorable dining experience for its guests. Occupying half of the Manila Prince Hotel lobby area, it offers an expansive venue for culinary exploration.

For both lunch and dinner, Marcelino Café extends its culinary prowess, presenting a variety of options ranging from pasta and salads to dim sum, sushi, sashimi, and flavorful dishes across different stations inspired by international cuisines.

Now, onto what Marcelino Cafe in store for us.

Marcelino Cafe Dining Experience:

To set the context, the dining experience varies for different guests and times of the day. For my wife and me, it was a Monday evening dinner date, and the food selection was particularly intriguing.

Italian Station:

As a pasta lover, I couldn't resist the tempting array of pasta sauces. Even if I chose not to indulge, the visual and olfactory allure was undeniable. A must-try for pasta enthusiasts.

Grill Station:

During that night samgyupsal is available on its grilling station.

Roast and Pika pika section fills the room with the aroma of roast food, the roast beef, roast chicken, and roast pork belly, made this section a sought-after delight. Familiar tastes and enticing scents guaranteed a satisfying experience.

Filipino Station:

Though I only enjoyed Filipino dishes visually and through their aromas due to uneasiness, the Mixed Seafood, Pork Mechado, and Beef Steak were tempting. Future visits are a must to savor these Filipino delights.

Asian Station:

This station allowed us to pick ingredients and create our concoctions. The soup and broth were perfect comfort foods for the stomach. They had Vietnamese Poh that time and also the Nasi Goreng.

Salad Station:

Fresh, tasty and yummy! I'm not in to fully fill my tummy but with just right amount to taste the flavors.

Bread and Dessert Station:

Delightful cookies and refreshing treats like the Cathedral and Mango Tapioca offered a perfect conclusion to our culinary journey. Don't forget the fruit section as well.

Korean Station:

For those on a diet, the selection of salads was fantastic.

Japanese Station:

Being a fan of Japanese cuisines, this station was a highlight for me. The diverse Maki options, especially the standout Crazy Maki, and the delightful Kani Salad made this station a personal favorite.

Marcelino Cafe provides an extensive eat-all-you-can spread with both local and international cuisines, creating an ideal setting for culinary indulgence.

Marcelino Cafe Rates:

For those planning to visit, here are the eat-all-you-can rates and time to visit:

The Feel and the Ambiance:

The restaurant, like any other hotel dining spot, exudes an interesting elite vibe while remaining welcoming. The ambient waterfalls installation provides a relaxing sound effect, almost giving the impression of rain outside, setting the perfect mood for guests.

Marcelino Cafe at Manila Prince Hotel offers a great setting for your first or last date. While not overly spacious, their diverse and interesting food selection caters to adventurous palates. My Blogging Journey, The Influence, The Story, and My Love for Writing

10:26:00 AM

Over the past few years, bloggers have changed the landscape of marketing and advertising. Blogsites have been the source of information for different reviews and opinions about brands or products. The 'personal experiences' became the voice up to the point of influencing someone in choosing or buying a specific brand or product. Bloggers became influencers!

The Influencers

Referencing Google, Wikipedia, and Merriam Webster, the term influence is basically about the capacity to affect others in indirect or intangible ways, causing a change in the character, development, or behavior of someone or something. So, if a person influences an individual, we can infer that a person can be called an influencer.

Way back before the digital era, the term influencer was for individuals who have introduced a change in the landscape of history. Today, the term influencer is in the digital world where experience is the key, affecting individuals with their choice. Whatever is the use of this term, one thing is for sure it affects you directly or indirectly.

The Blogger in Me, How I Started and Challenges I Encountered

In my case, I am grateful that I'm part of this growing community. Starting from writing about myself and my experience being a father, up to this time that I am writing reviews for different brands. Of course, personal touch should always be part of every story. Readers are looking for that kind of personality in a blog post.

My journey as a blogger has never been simple. It was a rollercoaster ride, from experiencing spending hours in a computer cafe to owning my laptop and getting one of the fastest connections of internet service providers. When I was still renting in a computer shop, I remember missing some writing opportunities before because of having no internet connection at home, plus the time difference. Most of the writing gigs were from abroad, and there's a big gap in time. I always receive their notification at night time, and that was my time to sleep.

Another challenge that I encountered going through the journey of being a blogger is my writing skills, well, I'm not born in an English-speaking community or country, so it has always been hard for me. I indeed struggle writing articles and stories to convey my thoughts and experiences. I never had that confidence with my work. Though I know how to write and speak, it is still the comfort level with the English language. It is not the same as the people born with it. But because of the possibilities of work and perks, I pushed myself to learn more by reading different grammar books, learn more about the formats in writing, and practiced expressing my thoughts in writing. With this, I was able to hone my writing skills and move a level higher.

The Evolution, The Blogger's Evolution

It is just like the caterpillar that turns into a beautiful butterfly, bloggers must also undergo evolution, and these changes somehow helped create a path. It is a way to show that there's more to offer than just a few lines. I remember I presented a similar topic about evolution at a bloggers' summit. That was probably my first evolution, speaking in a crowd of fellow bloggers.

Then came the opportunity to directly coordinate with some brands to market their products and promotions online. It was a great experience. It's overwhelming, but of course, we all need to ground ourselves in these opportunities.

The Love for Writing

Before, it was all about admiration! The stories and the experience of bloggers piqued my attention. Now, it's all about creating natural stories that can entice others to read. interesting

Of course, there are still the invites, the reviews, and the products, but what makes it more appealing is how you make that creation meaningful and informative, not just for you but for your readers. You can describe it in a thousand words or more, but the truth and honesty should always be there.

If you love writing, express it! Who knows you might influence a big name.

Who Is Ellenya L?

11:14:00 PM

Recently, there's a buzz on the net about this influencer/vlogger that she's claiming to be the most influencial name in the vlogging industry. Guess who she is? Well, here name is Ellenya L. or Ellenya Lakampati. According to her, she has plenty of followers and when she says plenty it means a lot.

So we did try to get some details about this person and we're glad that we found some few information about her. Apparently, Ellenya L is a 21 year-old ambitious girl who quests to become the next big name in the vlogging/influencer industry. She wants to be famous using today's different social media platforms.

Like most online person Ellenya spends her time patterning her online presence on her celebrity idol (which is played and specially participated by Sue Ramierez as herself). The lucky thing about her path is that she's supported by her musician father Daddy Toots (played by Gio Alvarez). Even if it means climbing on a roof to get her that perfect "drone shot."

Another person close to Ellenya who's always there for her is Peng (played by Inigo Pascual), her talented photographer and literal boy-next-door best friend. Even though, frankly, he has become quite wary of Ellenya's obsession with the image she projects online.

When a chance encounter leads Ellenya to meet Sue Ramirez' star-maker and fellow influencer Kyle Quintos (played by Patrick Sugui), she takes the opportunity to get his help. Quintos can transform her into the big time vlogger she dreams of becoming. He agrees to help her on one condition: she has to prove her potential by becoming viral online within a week.

In an age where everyone is an influencer, and where everyone is a blogger, what does it take to be "instafamous?" Are "likes" and "follows" all that really matters nowadays?

I'm Ellenya L. is not a rom-com movie but instead, a story of a young woman discovering who she is in the age of social media and she is played by Maris Racal, who was once part of a reality game show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). This movie is a balance of comedy and heart.

I'm Ellenya L. is the directorial debut of actor-producer Boy 2 Quizon. He is best known for comedy roles and being part of the hit show "Bubble Gang" for more than 10 years. This, however, isn't the director's first foray working behind-the-scenes in films. Quizon previously produced hits such as "1,000 Hours," "Camp Sawi," "Sid and Aya," and "Ulan."

The movie is produced by Spring Films, N2 Productions, and Cobalt Entertainment and will be hitting theaters nationwide on September 13, as part of the 2019 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP).

Other casts are Nova Villa, Francine Prieto, and the promising character actress and social media sensation Kat Galang.

Perception, Perspective, Idea and Random Thoughts

12:51:00 AM

This is just a random thoughts running through my head and I would like to let it out.

With the past commotion my post made online it leads me to an understanding that no matter how positive you want things to be people reacts easily to certain issues and your attempt to put that positive thought will only place you to a more uneasy situation. That's how this world reacts and that's how some people perceive things. An orange to others may look like an apple to some.

Nivea Blogger's Challenge

3:29:00 PM
Who says women are the only ones who needs to beauty care products? Well, I admit I have been one of those guys who got lots of beauty care products on their kit. Perhaps I will rephrase beauty care products into grooming kits. Since I was a bachelor I have always kept and brought with me my grooming kit. Lotion, gel, moisturizer, facial wash, deodorant, toothpaste, mouth wash name it I have it. I feel like I was bare if I don’t bring it with me. It’s more of an armament for me.

When I get married and have a son the pack of grooming kits were lessen. Lotion, moisturizer, and facial wash were off from that kit. That is to save some of the expenses.

Nivea Underarm Stick has been my trusted deodorant since they came out of the market. No gooey feeling and the scent is just right for male perspective. I was so excited when I get an invite from Nivea with regards to a challenge. It’s a Blogger’s Challenge, the venue was at the 360 Fitness Gym. With a bit of hesitation I said I’ll give it a try and hope to win the challenge.

The 360 Fitness Gym is a little foreign to me. I haven’t heard something like it. My notion of a gym has dumbbell, barbel, thread mill, and other stuff of gym equipment. When I get to see the 360 Fitness Gym it is somewhat different. It’s out of my perspective of a gym though the floor mat and some other stuff are familiar to me.

The program started with some few introductions and presentations of Nivea products, the main product that they are endorsing is the Multi-Effect 8 which is a facial wash that will really sooth in through the skin and makes its effect and the 360 Fitness Gym which has a program called the circuit. Truly it’s alien to me. Anyway after those introductions we head on to the challenge.

There were five challenges that they have for us, not very much familiar with the names but that’s what they do in the 360 Fitness Gym. The fastest to do the task and with the lesser time wins. Fortunately, I was able to bag one of the challenges called the TIRE UP, where you will jump up the tire and go down. I think the height was around two to three feet. It feels great to win a challenge.

Good that I took on the challenge and I was able to prove that I can take whatever challenge. All it takes is a little confidence to boost myself.

We were given products samples to try to. It has now completed my grooming kit. The Multi Effect 8 is a facial wash formulated by Nivea for men who’s active and always on the go. Of course I did try the product and it feels cool when I used it. It has small bits of materials that scrubs your face to thoroughly clean and get rids of that oil on your face.

Up to now, I’m still using them and having a full grooming kit really makes me a Nivea Man.
