How many people do you think knows how to organize?  Actually, I'm not sure also but as far as I know most organized persons are the Moms.  No offense to the Dads but if I'm going to have a ratio of its 1:5.  One Dad out of Five Moms knows their stuff in the house.  Hopefully, especially now that the number of Stay At Home Dads are increasing.

SMB 7,107 Celebrations Brings More Reason to Celebrate

9:48:00 AM

If I'm going to have a survey of who knows this brand, I'm pretty much sure nine (9) out of ten (10) will respond that they know it 100%. Who would have not know this brand its been the life of every Filipino celebrations. As far as I can remember, I see my father and my uncles drink this one of a kind drink that brings people together whether it is a grand celebration or just plain get together. It has indeed a part of every Filipino.

Last week, San Miguel Beer or SMB invited various bloggers to celebrate with them as they launch their SMB 7,107 Celebrations which yours truly, the Kwento Ni Toto guy was one of those lucky bloggers and I say lucky indeed. So better read more to know why I'm truly blessed.

The SMB 7,107 Celebrations provides 7,107 reasons to celebrate in the Philippines. The SMB7107Celebrations.com.ph is a hub created to equally match the Philippines' 7,107 beautiful islands, providing exciting adventures and experiences for the country's locals and visitors. As this website launched its way into the world wide web tourists will easily find Philippines this welcoming and hospitable, suitable to become their second home filled with relaxing retreats, exciting escapades, and amazing adventures. For the self-proclaimed travel bug, the Philippines offers a wonderful array of fascinating destinations, which basically is what SMB 7107CELEBRATIONS  would like to share with the rest of the world. With the country's favorite San Miguel Beer as a travel companion, visitors and locals are sure to going to have not just an extraordinary fun but an exceptionally memorable experience of the tropical paradise that is the Philippines.

So what does SMB 7107 CELEBRATIONS offers to its visitors? Perhaps to start with is that it allows visitors to explore a variety of awesome place and fun-filled activities and one of the best thing is that it can be arrange into one incredible itinerary. Giving locals and tourists an opportunity to have a better view of the events in the entire archipelago. Here are some of the features:

Events section provides history and origin of various festivities and take part in colorful and zealous merrymaking. Easily find the festivals and happenings via the page's search feature or view all events for the month with a single click. Users can express their insights or give tips by leaving some comments at the bottom of every article using the special Facebook comment box. This information can also be shared to different social networks and communities.

Things To Do section let users discover the Philippines' beautiful sights, interesting places, and wonderful destinations. Go wild with excitement with the country's diverse range of awesome activities - from outdoor sports to splashing adventures, cultural tours to recreational attractions, relaxing escapes to thrilling exploits. So mainly this section provides insightful articles on arts & culture, recreation, shopping, outdoor activities, and what SMB calls aquativities.

Beer Locator section is what I think one of the best feature because this will not only help beer lovers to easily find the best place to get San Miguel Beer products but also will help local stores and restaurants as well, giving them an opportunity to showcase what's best on their place. This feature is powered by the Google Maps technology, by using this users can know exactly where to find San Miguel Beer anywhere in the Philippines. It can be searched by name, location, or according to preferred cuisine, ambiance, or amenities and filter results to find the ideal establishment. The viewing of individual outlet pages is exclusively for the website's registered users.

Promos section lists all ongoing promotions and irresistible offers from the different outlets carrying SMB products.

Features section tackles just about anything related to travel and beer – from tips on keeping the beer chilled to the most romantic destinations in the country to beer-drinking games to up the ante. Users can easily comment on and share the articles found on this page.

Itinerary Planner section helps in putting everything – events, things to do, establishments – in one amazing itinerary for an unforgettable vacation. This section is for registered users which helps them create their own itinerary with just a few clicks by specifying the next travel destination in the Philippines and the dates of planning to go there plus the activities. Another good thing is that users not only get to save the itinerary but can also continue planning even for future escapades. It can also be print or share to travel buddies.

So what do you think of the different features? Isn't it great!

Oh I mentioned before that I'm lucky right? Well, here's a video of the first reason to celebrate with SMB's 7,107 Celebrations and picture below is the result of it.

SM City Sta Mesa 3 day Sale Experience

10:30:00 PM

SM City Sta Mesa or commonly called SM Centerpoint has indeed made another point to their patron consumers with their latest sale this Aug 3, 4 & 5 and today was their last day of sale.  Though, last day it still looks like the first day because of the huge crowd coming in and out of the mall.

It was afternoon and I know most people went to the mall during this time to spend some bonding moments or just simply to pass time.  So I was there together with my wife and my eldest son, Maki.  My theme for this specific sale is UNDERGARMENTS, like underwear and socks.  Yes, I hunted for this specific clothing because I badly need to have new pairs of these items.  Some of my undergarment belongings were near turning into bacon garters and for the pair of socks some were already worn out.  So I really need to have new ones.

Not really sure if I'm going to find a good bargain or sale this time because as far as I know most men's clothing are much more expensive than ladies.  So, hunting for some good buys may take some time.  To my surprise I just finish my hunt in just a few minutes.  What I got was a bench underwear which cost around Php369 with 10% discount.  It's in pack of three which comes with a pouch which I can use later as storage of other items, not much of a discount but still I was able to get other than the underwear.  I also grab a Burlington socks that also comes in pack of three which cost Php150 which is a good buy also.  Then, since my son is with us and I wanted to teach him the value of money I bought his a coin bank with a shape of a dragon.  Playful enough to save money.

Here are some other pictures that I have taken during our hunt also thanks to Lot's A Pizza for pizza.

These experience is not brag about what we got on sale but to share how discounts and sales can help us all stretch that hard earned money.   So the next time you're in a sale make sure to get what you planned for. Stick to it!

Happy Shopping.

TOFARM, An Award Giving Body for Pinoy Farmers

10:33:00 PM

Have you been to a Farm? Have you tried working in a Farm? Well, I'm sure lots of the present generation would scratch their heads and wonder what's a farm really looks like. Perhaps most of the present generation have seen farms in online games like Farmville, in which at least helped in informing the young ones of how Farms works. In my part, though born and raised in a city life, I get to experienced living in the province with my grandparents. Getting your hands and feet dirty when farming.

A few weeks ago my correspondent Jefferson Montas was able to attend and witness the media launch of TOFARM, it is the search for THE OUTSTANDING FARMERS of the Philippines. An award giving body that recognizes the hard work of Filipino farmers, men and women. Today's farmers or the modern farmers includes those in the agri-business, fisher folk, animal raisers, co-ops, farm communities, scientists, the academe, Gus, both urban and rural.

Junior Chamber International, Philippines and Universal Harvester, Inc. joins together in a dream of reviving the glory of Philippine agriculture by promoting farming as noble, lucrative profession, especially for the youth. This is because the agricultural sector plays the most crucial part in our survival as a people.

According to them, most of today's generation are no longer interested in tilling their fathers land and they prefer to pursue city jobs or become doctors, lawyers and engineers. Just like our National hero Jose Rizal said, not all can be doctors. Some will have to stay and cultivate the land. That is why the JCI and Universal Harvester's mission and vision is to make agriculture attractive for the next generations and for the entire country once again. And for a long term goal JCI and Universal Harvester, Inc. wants the Philippines to excel in farming, to be competitive on the world stage, to produce more so that we can feed our own and not to rely on importing crops and produce.

According to TOFARM Project Chairman Rommel Cunanan they will give out 11 awards for this year, six for the individual category and five for the group category. They'll be looking for the awardee from Farmer, Fisherfolk, Livestock, Agri-Entrepreneur, young Farmer, Agricultural Innovator and Urban/City Farmer for the individual category while on the group category will be from Agriculture Cooperative, Family Farmer, Local Government unit, Agricuture Initiatives and People's Choice.

The nomination period for Outstanding Farmer candidates begins August 1 and will end on September 30. Validation and Judging of nominees will take place in October and November, while the Awarding takes place in December.

Nominations may be submitted as hard copy or sent online to www.tofarm.org. Nomination forms may be downloaded from the website.

For more information, call the TOFARM Hotline 709-5001 to 54, fax 709-5006 or email info.tofarm@gmail.com.

Las Piñas Water Lily Festival on Its 7th Year

11:17:00 PM

Event covered by Angelyn Demo

It was a Thursday Morning and thank God it wasn't raining. The day was just right for the event and for travel but as usual traffic has always been there that caused me to be late on the designated meeting place! Then were off to the festival.

It was the celebration of Las Piñas' 7th Water Lily Festival. A celebration that has become more popular every year because of the livelihood products produced out of Water Hyacinth led by the Managing Director of the the Villar Foundation, Cynthia Villar.

We arrived early but it seems that the celebration started much earlier. The festivity commenced already and people are in tune with the celebration. People were pretty eager to watch the pageant perhaps because of their bet candidates and of course most of them are really lovely. Many people were present during the festivity and the only thing that is not pleasant was the weather. Though it was not raining it made a not so good condition because it made us look tired and haggard because of that hot weather. Perhaps the heat also flared up because of the number of guests and participants present.

I did try to ask people around to know what they think of the celebration and one of the person I've interviewed was a “kagawad” (councilor) of the barangay. She said that they were lucky that projects like these were conceptualized and helped the communities a lot. After the interview she even introduced me to their barangay captain.

The Water Lily Festival was conceptualized in order to promote the water hyacinth-based livelihood products made by the residents of Las Piñas living along the river. Before these water lilies or water hyacints were treated as aquatic pests that clog the river but now are useful raw materials. Products made from these water lilies are baskets, trays, slippers and other functional and ornamental items.

The festival highlighted for this year the Miss Las Piñas Water Lily which was a pre-pageant that was held on Tuesday (July 17) and last Thursday (July 19) the winner was crowned as this year's Miss Las Piñas Water Lily. Since the water lily is the highlighted ingredient of this festival, gowns made of this material were created by known designers like Noli Hans and as well the barangay residents themeselves. Other highlights of the 7th Water Lily Festival are the fluvial parade, street dancing, musical performances from Manunugtog Kawayan and other local bands, water lily weaving demonstrations and of course, a display exhibit of various handicrafts made out of water lilies.

According to Mrs. Villar “We can do it if we want to”, she also explained that there are lots of improvements needed for next year's festival like the cheering squads should train hard and they were also planning to conceptualize a river cruise in Las Piñas. Mrs. Villar also mentioned that “cleaning a river is really a challenge and the Las Piñas was praised for cleaning the river.” It is indeed one of the good efforts that the Villar Foundation have done to Las Piñas and to its communities.

This festivity is really good in promoting local tourism and locally made products. Other places should also strive to do the same for the future generation. Just what Mrs. Villar said “we can do it if we want to”.

Do you want to visit this festivity next year? If you're planning to, just visit the Villar Foundation website to see the details of their programs and activities.

Great Northern Sale's The Block Fashion Runway

5:48:00 AM

A good way to entice shoppers in hunting for their best outfit was a short and stylish fashion show.  Yup!  During the first day of the Great Northern Sale of SM City North EDSA a fashion show was held at the The Block.  It was called "The Block Fashion Runway".   Shoppers were treated fro a free viewing of what's the latest trend and what's new in some of the boutiques inside the mall.

Different looks and with extra twists of the our daily clothing were showcased on the runway.  The ramp clothing were items from some of the boutiques that can be visit inside the mall.  Of course models give justification on this clothes as they walk the runway.  For sure people were already thinking of what to buy during that time.

It was a short but great time to think and let shoppers have an inspiration on what to grab for themselves.  Great show!
