National Center for Mental Health Presents Status and Thought Programs to Fight The Mental Effect of EECQ

9:31:00 PM

Dr. Roland Cortez, Chief of National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), in an online conference, presented the status of the center and some thought programs to be implemented to help fight mental problems caused by the COVID-19 and the Extended Enhanced Community Quarantine. He assures the members of the media that they are ready to handle the difficulties and the mandate of their work at the same time.

During the presentation, Dr. Cortez updated the members of the media with the status of NCMH. According to him, the center has been affected by the virus, but they were able to contain the situation. Sixteen (16) of its in-patients were affected by the disease out of the 3,200 patients that they have. So far, only one (1) had recovered from the virus. The center made sure that the affected patients are brought and taken care of at the converted isolation room.

According to Dr. Cortez, they are planning to have more programs aside from their existing ones to help both the individuals and the frontliners. One of their programs is the Helpline about COVID-19, which you can call at 0917-899-USAP (8727) or the 989-USAP (8727). It is the center's communications numbers for individuals seeking help.

With the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, they are planning to have additional doctors for individuals who seek consultation to address their uneasiness and worry.

For the frontliners, the center plans to add additional programs aside from the existing ones that they have, like the plan to limit the frontliners time in the hospitals to avoid too much exposure and the possibility of contracting the disease, plan to provide sleeping quarters or room for those who don't want to go home yet to protect their family, overtime pay, monetary considerations, and other benefits if ever they got sick during their duty as frontliners.

These are some of the plans that are expected to help a lot of Filipino individuals and frontliners. If you require assistance, you can contact them at their helpline for consultation the USAP TAYO line 0917-899-USAP (8727) or the 989-USAP (8727).

6 Mobile Apps To Enjoy By the Whole Family

10:07:00 PM

We have been quarantined and locked inside the house for more than a month already, so, I'm pretty sure that you're also having a problem with the activities to do with the family. So here are some fun activities for the family to enjoy during the extended enhanced community quarantine. It's six apps to be exact that you can enjoy with your loved ones to help rid of the boredom.

Spaceteam (Free)
This game involves teamwork, quick reading and listening skills, and lots of shouting. Spaceteam is a multiplayer game where 2-8 players operate a spaceship by following on-screen instructions to successfully traverse space-avoiding asteroids and wormholes in the process. The catch? While each player has a unique set of controls, time-sensitive instructions to your controls will only be directed to any of your teammate’s screens—hence the shouting.

Heads Up (Free, with in-app purchases)
“The Ellen Show” fans will undoubtedly be familiar with this guessing game she plays with celebrity guests. With several categories to choose from, players take turns holding their smartphones on their foreheads as the app flashes words that the beholder must guess. The player opposite the screen helps the other player guess the word by shouting clues, doing accents, or acting the word out.

Out of the Loop (Free, with in-app purchases)
Being left out has never been this fun! Out of the Loop is a 5-9 player game that presents a secret word to all but one participant—the one dubbed “out of the loop” by the app. All players then proceed to answer questions about the word, with a vigilant ear to try and guess who they think is out of the loop. The challenge is for the person left out to try their best not to be obvious and pretend to be in the know.

Monopoly (P199)
More of the board game type? Good news! Monopoly is available for mobile devices for only P199. The mobile version of the popular board game allows a maximum of 4 players to sharpen their business minds in an attempt to bankrupt each other.

Exploding Kittens (P99)
For just P99, the nerve-wracking, hostility-inducing card game is available for mobile devices as well. Gather around and enjoy a highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette with the entire family as the game allows for a maximum of 5 players.

TikTok (Free)
Those who want to shed off some quarantine-induced weight, showcase their talents, and simply have fun with the family can try TikTok, the latest and top destination for short-form creative videos. Family members can use the app to show off their dance moves, acting skills, humor, and creativity. They can also follow @vivo_philippines to check out exciting videos from the smartphone brand.

So, what are you waiting for? Strategize, laugh, dance, and bond with the family by downloading these apps through the Vivo app store which is pre-installed in all Vivo smartphone models.

Saving the Planet in Style with Samsung Lifestyle TV Lineup ‘Eco-Packaging’

6:51:00 PM

Our lifestyle is the reason why we are experiencing so many things today, so lifestyle is also the answer for us to help our Mother Earth to heal and to be saved. Climate change is true and not just something to be ignored. We all need to work together for the change. And knowing one of the electronic companies, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., just recently announced its better way of giving Mother Earth a breather. They introduce its new eco-friendly packaging across its Lifestyle TV product portfolio in efforts to reduce the environmental footprint.

Samsung’s new ‘eco-packaging’ made from eco-friendly corrugated cardboard will be applied to The Serif, The Frame, and The Sero, allowing customers easier recycling as well as upcycling of the cardboard boxes for creative reuse.

Samsung has applied a dot matrix design on each side of its eco-friendly corrugated cardboard boxes, allowing customers to cut the boxes more easily and assemble them into various other uses, such as small end tables or houses for pets.

Included within the packaging is a manual to guide customers on how to make household items out of the cardboard boxes, which can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the box.

Owners of The Serif who tend to put shelves and furniture around the TV can build cat houses, magazine racks and even shelves from the cardboard boxes to store household items and electronic devices, including the remote control.

Earlier this year, Samsung had already won CES 2020 Innovation Awards for its eco-packaging concept for promoting the efficient use of resources.

As part of the rollout of the new eco-packaging, Samsung and Dezeen, a British lifestyle magazine, will hold a global design competition starting April 6th, where the two companies will award the most unique and practical designs and will apply the designs into its eco-packaging manual.

"Consumers are more likely to purchase from a brand that shares similar fundamentals and values as they do, and with our eco-packaging, we believe that we can provide our customers with a new experience that considers the environment as an important way to express themselves," said Kangwook Chun, Executive Vice President and Head of Product Strategy Team of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

For more information on the design competition, please visit Dezeen’s website at www.dezeen.com and Samsung TV Instagram (@samsungtv).

MayWard Not Rushing to A Romantic Relationship Or Going on Separate Ways?

11:25:00 PM

From teens to twenties, we all feel that romantic urge in our life, the feeling of being complete because of the special someone who's very much close to us. The very thought that that person makes every moment of our lives memory a treasure to cherish. Love isn't all about romance, but it also entails responsibility. Just like the Spiderman quote that says, "great power comes with great responsibility," and we can say that love is a power that we all have in our hearts. And I believe that the MayWard love team understands that big responsibility that will come to both of them if they fell into that relationship trap.

That is what they probably felt when most of the people around them are very fond of their closeness together on-screen and off-screen. Most of the fans are expecting, maybe, that both of them will end up together in a relationship. Well, it's not that far to happen.

In an Instagram post of Edward Barber, which is probably a collective effort of the two to bring the news to their fans about their relationship, says that "...we both are still very young, and there is so much more we still want to achieve in our lives...," it is straight to the point, but there's another interpretation about the matter. Take note of the line 'achieve,' which is the usual reason for the past love teams to go on their separate ways. They wanted to grow more of their career paths.

So, whether they'll be moving on with their careers or not, they made it clear they are not rushing about to have a romantic relationship. Let's hope that it won't be another love team to go on separate ways.

A Facebook Chatbot Help for Store Finder PH Users on Free Mobile Internet

10:47:00 PM

Currently, when everything is so hard to reach, it's good to know that we are still blessed because of the technology of today. Here is one development that is of great help in times of crisis. So if you're ready to get to know what it is well, just continue reading and know what it is.

When Store Finder PH’s map website went live on March 19 to help locate nearby establishments that are open during the COVID-19 community quarantine, families with no internet connection seem left behind.

However with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the volunteer-initiated website is able to make its key content available on Facebook Messenger through a chatbot. A chatbot is a computer robot that replies to messages like a human being.

Currently, Facebook Messenger can be used even without a mobile data plan as part of the basic service of Smart, Globe, and affiliate providers, making the store finding-chatbot accessible to more than 44 million phone internet users in the Philippines at no extra cost.

Store Finder PH named its chatbot “Crowdy” to signify the project’s crowd-sourcing nature of collecting information. To use the chatbot, the user should open the project’s Facebook messenger.

After tapping “Get Started”, the user may pick the establishment category and type a location that the chatbot will scan through. A list of search results including grocery shops, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, ATM centers, remittance centers, logistic hubs, and other essential stores is then displayed within seconds.

Although the map feature is disabled when on free mobile data, crucial information including business hours are still delivered in text format.

“Our main contribution as millenials to the Enhanced Community Quarantine measure of the government is making tech solutions and life-saving information reach the doorsteps of every Filipino,” said Trinmar Boado, an award-winning Information and Communication Technology (ICT) advocate and leader of the volunteer project.

He added the chatbot is getting a high volume of query for remittance centers, explaining this must be from parents of stranded students and other individuals sending out financial help.

On Store Finder PH’s website version at www.storefinder.ph, users can see the map of their neighborhood and the exact location of open establishments. They can also chat with other active users within the vicinity to seek any assistance during emergencies.

To start using the Store Finder PH chatbot, open m.me/StoreFinder.PH or fb.com/StoreFinder.PH now.

Nadine Lustre Deligently Follows Quarantine Protocols

11:33:00 PM

At this time of crisis, people who prefer to do things on their own are more appreciated and given recognition. It's not because they wanted the attention but because they know they have to do it on their own. A more independent approach! That's what happens when a Pinoy celebrity in the likes of Nadine Lustre spotted in one of the grocery stores in the metro doing her grocery chore. Of course, there's always the fans who would still take a photo of her, which was shared online.

Nadine's photo has gone viral after being shared by one of the netizens and probably a fan as well. A picture of her in line and while doing her grocery. Not really sure if she's alone or not but based on the photo she does the grocery alone. So, if ever she had her bodyguard with her would probably be waiting at the car.  Remember that the quarantine period requires one member of the family to buy groceries.

Nadine's action was applauded and praised by the netizens. The queuing, which she patiently waits for her turn in the line without her using her celebrity status, only proves how disciplined she is. It is a gesture needed by the government from every citizen in this lockdown period.

Celebrity or not, we should do the same!

VIVO Donates Surgical Masks together with Appreciation Letters To Hospitals and Frontliners

5:37:00 PM

A small gesture of encouragement and strength as vivo Philippiens helped in boosting the morale of frontliners and further ensure their protection, vivo Philippines has given out appreciation letters and thousands of surgical masks to select hospitals through the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and other local government offices.

The handwritten letters of gratitude and encouragement, and masks were turned over to the OVP for distribution to the Philippine General hospital, and the Bonifacio Global City administration office for distribution to St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City. vivo directly handed similar donations to The Medical City Ortigas.

“With their valiant efforts, our medical frontliners are truly the heroes in this battle we are waging, but we also understand they are also human and can be physically and emotionally exhausted,” said Charisma Buan, vivo Philippines PR Lead.

While most of the letters were addressed to frontliners, some were also directed to COVID-19 patients to give them hope.

“Along with providing much-needed support, we also want to instill hope during this pandemic, especially to the victims and their families. With our modest contribution, we hope to help our medical frontliners in flattening the curve soon.”

KC Concepcion's Clap, Is It the Hands or the Boobies?

1:14:00 PM

I remember I had my post here about KC's being so confident about her body. Well, who wouldn't be she got all the curves in the right places. That one gained a lot of reactions and comments from not only the fans but almost every netizen. For sure, some eyes are very much pleased with the view. But there are who thinks the other way around.

Well, you cannot please everybody and sometimes doing things unconventionally, will turn out something not what you want to. Especially in our country, where there are so many people with so many ideas and opinions on a topic.

Now, KC Concepcion had another controversial post on her account that made followers and netizens react to what she shared on her social media account. The post was a week ago which speaks about her appreciation to all the frontliners.

"Sharing good vibes! 💕💕💕 A huge cyber APPLAUSE to all nurses, doctors, security guards, grocery/pharmacy/hospital clerks & all FRONTLINERS out in the battlefield today. 👏🏼 MARAMING SALAMAT PO! ✨".

The gesture and intention were good, but how it was shown made it more controversial.

You can watch the post below.

Now, what do you think? For me, she should have worn something less revealing since there are still a lot of Filipinos who are very much of a Maria Clara. On her point, yes, she's right she can do whatever she wants with her body, so we don't have the right to say bad things about what she did. All we can do is react.

So, which one again is clapping is it her hands or her boobies?

5 Creative, Safe, and Easy Destination This Quarantine Period

8:36:00 PM

How was the quarantine period in your area? Well, we're striving hard at this time of crisis. There are many ways for us to check our sanity, our health, and our ability to adapt. With this, I'll be sharing 5 Creative, Safe, and Easy Destination you can go to keep you in good shape during this lockdown.

I hope this will give you a sense of calmness during this quarantine period. We all need to get rid of stress and boredom. So read on.

  • Staycation Ala House Hotel. Well, if you miss having a staycation in one of the hotels in the metro, you don't need to go far. Just set your house into a hotel-like setting. Put something in your bedroom that you usually see in the hotel. At least you'll have the feel and look of the hotel. Then you can take a selfie or an OOTD.
  • Living Room Ala Theater House. Since there are plenty of available movies online, having a movie night or a movie marathon at the comfort of your living is as easy as it is. Also, if you're an avid fan of any trilogies or sequels, you can have them all watched in just a few hours. You can even make a cinema look in your living room.
  • Visit your Hacienda or Ranch ala Garden. If you have a small garden in your residence, it would be great. It's good therapy, especially now that we are in quarantine. You can water your plants every morning and even have a photo with them. Plants, most especially flowers, love to be talked, sometimes they would even bloom better when you're talking to them.
  • Enjoy a Starry Night View on the roof. If you like to go to the mountains for a good view of the starry night, well, you don't need to go far. Just wait for the night to fall and for the lights in the city turn black and you can now enjoy your view of the dark sky and the stars.
  • Beach look in your pool area. Okay, this might only apply to those who have pools in their houses where they can enjoy a scenic view of the beach by having a beach umbrella and some other things that you can find on the beach. But if you're creative enough to make a good scene, well, we can improvise by using a kiddie pool with the beach look. Filipinos are very fond of making this happen, and all it takes a little bit of imagination.

In this time, where the situation keeps us confined in our homes because of the pandemic, we all need to be imaginative. Keep ourselves busy. But of course, we should also think of the others by praying for health and protection.

Keep safe everyone!

SJDM Congresswoman Florida "Rida" Robes Details the 3-Point Framework in Covid-19 Response

6:00:00 PM

No one is exempted from today's pandemic crisis, even the frontliners and government officials are not safe with the spread of COVID-19. That is why few of our government officials who were exposed to some public servants and politicians who later tested positive for COVI-19 went and observed self-quarantine. One of them is Congresswoman Florida "Rida" Robes of the lone district of San Jose Del Monte (SJDM) City, Bulacan who touched base with her constituents in a 5-minute talk with members of the media last April 2.

Congresswoman Robes used a very personal approach to encourage people to be responsible enough to automatically undergo self-quarantine and practice physical distancing. "Alam n'yo nung panahon na ako ay nasa loob lang ng kwarto, sobrang lungkot ako. My daughter was asking me, 'Mom, when can I hug you? When can I kiss you?' I told her, 'On Thursday, anak. And that's today, my 21st day of self-quarantine. Bakit ko ito ginawa? Kasi I love my family most and, of course, I love my family here in the district of the city of San Jose del Monte. Ayaw ko 'yung na-expose na nga ako, tapos lalabas pa ako. It's very irresponsible if I do that. Dahil mahal ko kayo, tiniis ko na nakikita ko lang si Mayor [Arthur Robes] outside, nakikita ko lang ang aking mga kapamilya combatting this kind of calamity."

Congresswoman Robes continue to discuss SJDM's efforts during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). She explained that she and her husband SJDM Mayor Arthur Robes (who went into self-quarantine about a week after she did) and their respective teams worked used a three-point framework that was based on one principle: "Pagyamanin mo kung ano ang meron ka." This involved the following:

  1. 1. Seeking a resolution to enable the use of the calamity fund.
  2. 2. Coordinated with frontlines, which included the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) about setting up of checkpoints according to the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the implementation of the ECQ.
  3. 3. Implementing rehabilitation programs to address the needs of the people, especially the micro and small business owners.

In line with the Robes couple's mission of inclusive progress, Congresswoman Robes explained that they made sure to cater to nearly 69,000 indigent people in SJDM. Indeed, in the first wave of the distribution of relief packs, 10,910 indigent people were served. In the second wave, 58,060 people were reached. Congresswoman Robes stated that there would be a third wave of relief pack distribution. "Ideally, we could go to all the 145,000 households in SJDM," she added.

Robes mentioned that they were also waiting for the full implementation of the "Bayanihan Heal as One" (BAHO) Act so that more help could be extended to the people of SJDM.

When asked how she felt about the bashers who criticized her and Mayor Robes' efforts, Congresswoman Robes said, "Nakikiusuap po ako na huwag na po nating isali ang pamumulitika rito. Your criticisms are welcome, but if you cannot contribute anything then please just pray for our city." The congresswoman asked everyone to just unite so that the whole district could get through the crisis.

ABS-CBN Made Its First Delivery of P100 M Worth Of Goods to LGUs for Filipino Affected by the Quarantine

12:08:00 AM

ABS CBN made its first delivery of what they have raised for the Filipinos affected by the quarantine.

Some 200,000 families all over Metro Manila will soon receive food and basic necessities after ABS-CBN turns over the first P100 million worth of food and products purchased using donations to the network’s “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” campaign to 16 local government units (LGU) this weekend.

The goods will be repacked and delivered by the LGUs to homes of Filipinos who are unable to make a living while the nation’s capital is under enhanced community quarantine.

The P100 million is part of the P285.3 million raised by ABS-CBN as of March 26, in cash donations and pledges, to help people who have lost their sources of income or livelihood due to the quarantine implemented by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Kapamilya network expresses its gratitude to all donors from all over the world, as well as the private corporations that ensured stocks of their products for “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig.” These items include rice, canned goods, noodles, biscuits, milk, coffee, shampoo, soap, detergent, and vitamins.

Also playing a key role in this multi-sectoral initiative are the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and logistics companies Air 21 and Entrego, which deliver the items from ABS-CBN warehouses to the different LGUs.

Millions of donations poured in during ABS-CBN’s “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig: At-Home Together Concert” last March 22 where over 100 Kapamilya artists performed from their own homes, shared words of support and encouragement for our frontliners, and urged the public to help our less-fortunate Kapamilyas. The digital fund-raising concert was streamed on iWant and other ABS-CBN platforms online and aired live on ABS-CBN, S+A, ANC, MYX, DZMM TeleRadyo, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, MOR 101.9, and on The Filipino Channel (TFC) for those abroad.

ABS-CBN continues to call on the public and the private sector for donations as it aims to also reach localities outside Metro Manila, where more Filipinos are in need of help.

Those who would like to donate may deposit to ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.-Sagip Kapamilya bank accounts: BPI peso account 3051-11-55-88, Metrobank peso account 636-3-636-08808-1, PNB peso account 1263-7000-4128, BDO peso account 0039301-14199, and BDO dollar account 1039300-81622.

“PANTAWID NG PAG-IBIG: AT HOME TOGETHER CONCERT” FOR QUARANTINE-AFFECTED FILIPINOS

8:11:00 AM
Helping together in this time of crisis. More than 100 Kapamilya stars will virtually come together and perform from their own homes for “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig: At-Home Together Concert” on Sunday (March 22) at 7 PM to help families greatly affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

Aside from bringing joy and music to Filipinos who are staying at home, the digital concert will help raise funds for “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig,” a campaign launched by ABS-CBN in partnership with local government officials in Metro Manila and private companies to provide food and basic necessities to Filipinos who are unable to make a living.

Through the donations from the public, ABS-CBN will be purchasing food and other basic necessities that the Filipino families need.
