Scotts Snap Spreader System For Your Lawn

5:00:00 PM
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Having a lawn is a lifestyle.  Yes, it is indeed a lifestyle because lawns need to be taken cared of just like any branded clothing or apparel that we own.  It shows a status symbol for some who understand the value of lawns.  Also it is an opportunity magnet.  Lawn is like a balancer and illuminator for the house.  They make it more jolly and fun!  I’ll definitely have that kind of house!  For now I’ll just settle myself taking care of my relative’s lawn.
They need to be cleaned and fed with fertilizers, water and other things needed to make them bright and healthy green.  Doing it manually sure does takes time to finish and most of the time it is messy particularly when pouring fertilizers in a container for spreading.
Scotts® Snap® Spreader System helps lawn owners and keepers get their tasks done as quickly as possible.  The snap spreader system makes it easier to feed the grass with fertilizers evenly and mess-free.
Scotts Snap Spreader System is an exclusive product of Scotts Snap-Pac.  The Snap-Pac connects directly to the Snap Spreader and with just a flip of the lever it locks Snap-Pac into place and ready for spreading.  The product automatically sets the proper application rate that it needs to thrive.  It has an EdgeGuard Feature that directs the product only where it is needed, on the lawn.  Plus, the storing of the spreader and the Snap-Pac itself makes it easier and simple because it seals itself upon removal.

So if you’re planning to get that lawn in the groove for the summer just get yourself a Scotts Snap-Pacs and Snap Spreader System.
If you want to know more about the product simply visit Scotts Snap Spreader System or you might as well visit their page for that Snap perks on Facebook and also for some of the promotions and contests as well.

THE STYLISTICS Serenades Filipino Fans

10:02:00 AM

Celebrate the music of best-known Philadelphia soul group of the 1970s as That's Ntertainment Productions, in cooperation with ABS-CBN, present THE STYLISTICS Live in Manila happening today, April 12, 2012, 8 pm at Smart Araneta Coliseum.   Here's a treat for mom and dad, grandma and grandpa with an unforgettable night from The Stylistics with special guests Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

The Stylistics have been recording and touring for almost forty years and enjoyed twelve straight Top 10 hits from 1971.1974.  These include their stellar debut "Betcha by Golly, Wow", "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and the shimmering sweet soul ballad " You Make Me Feel Brand New".  Their early 70s work with producer Thom Bell and his collaborator, lyricist Linda Creed yielded some of the most popular love songs of that era.

Known for their sleek, soulful Philadelphia sound, this quarter has been performing for nearly 40 years and became a worldwide-favorite for their showmanship, harmony and style.  Formed in 1968, The Stylistics was originally comprised lead Russell Thompkins, Jr., Herbie Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith, and James Dunn.  After the original group disbanded in the 80s, Love, Murell, and Thompkins continued to tour until 2000 and brought in two new members from one set of the Delfonics - Harold Eban Brown as lead singer, and tenor Van Fields who also sang wit an a cappella group called A Perfect Blend.  In 2011, Fields departed and was replaced with Jason Sharpe (formerly with Heatwave).

In 2008 they recorded their latest album, That Same Way.  The new album marks as their first album of new material this century but still filled with sweet soul spirit that initially made The Stylistics famous.  Their song, "People Make the World Go Round", was used by Spike Lee in the soundtrack for 1994 film Crooklyn, as performed by Marc Dorsey.

As the concert's special guests, two of our OPM icons will also be performing their classic hits infused with comedy.  Rico J. Puno's funny-naughty charm and rich, earthy voice--popularly known as Mr. Suave -- will definitely sway you with his signature hits from "Macho Gwapito" to ballads "Kapalaran" and "May Bukas Pa".  With a career of more than 40 years in showbiz, comedienne-singer Elizabeth Ramsey will also feature heart-warming renditions of OPM and oldies hits.  Being the country's Queen of Rock & Roll, Elizabeth is still in her prime and continues to do what she loves to do best -- singing and making people laugh.

As That's Ntertainment PRoductions brings one of the finest acts of the 70's, The Stylistics -- consisting of founding members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell and newer additions Van Fields and Eban Brown - will definitely spark fond memories in an amazing night for fans of Soul and R&B genres decades ago.  This is a treat for mom and dad, grandma and grandpa and an unforgettable night from The Stylistics with special guests Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

Converse Asia Crown: Skaters Go!

5:34:00 AM

Spectators and skateboard enthusiasts round up at the event area of Converse Asia Crown at the Mindanao Parking Area of Trinoma. It is said to be the first and biggest skateboarding event. It aims to promote skateboarding as a thriving sports in the Philippines.

I remember during my early days that I also tried skateboarding, unfortunately the skateboard went rogue on me and made me met a mild accident. Though I want to try it again, the board was my main problem because I don't have any and having one is somewhat hard during my time.

Anyway this event really bring backs memories and youthfulness.

As Converse aims to give Filipino skateboarders the chance to show off their dope moves on the board and compete with the best of the best skateboarders across the country to vie for the title of being the first official skateboarding ambassador of Converse Philippines who gets to compete internationally and is also set to compete in the upcoming skate event in China.

I was glad that I made it to the event just in time for the interview with the top US-based pro skaters Kenny Anderson and Mike Anderson who set a show to Filipino skaters on how skateboarding is really done with their extremely polished skate tricks that are seems effortless.

After the interview it was time for the skaters to get busy and do their tricks. This is their chance to be crowned as the local Asia Crown champion. Winners received a year worth of Converse skateboarding goodies, Php50,000.00 cold hard cash and plane tickets to all official Converse skateboarding events worldwide.

It was a whole day event of physical and creative recreation where different activities was held, though it did rain and made some areas of the event wet and not conducive enough to roam around. Bands like Paraluman, Gracenote and 6 Cycle Mnd were also there to fuse a bit of music.

Converse Philippines also featured their Spring Summer Collection with an added shoe display that embody Converse's mission of giving people the freedom to make a statement by “continuing to adjust with time giving a great variety of styles, color, becoming more creative evolving to what they will become.”

SABRINA GETS SUPERSTAR TREATMENT IN INDONESIA

6:00:00 PM

MANILA, Philippines - Some local artists have tried to penetrate the Southeast Asia market, especially Indonesia. But so far, only two can claim to have really made it there — one is balladeer Christian Bautista and the other one is acoustic singer Sabrina.

Now dubbed as Asia’s Acoustic Sweetheart, Sabrina recently conquered Indonesia again via a special showcase at Supermal Karawaci in Jakarta last March 24. According to MCA Music’s ad and promo manager Grace Foronda, Sabrina got a “superstar” treatment, the way foreign artists are treated in the Philippines. Billboards of Sabrina can be seen all over Jakarta as well as the venue.

“So many people came up to see her show proving she is such a big star in Indonesia,” Foronda said. “It was also nice to see them singing along to her songs.” Mid-way to the show, Sabrina was surprised by Universal Music Indonesia with a Platinum Award for her latest album I Love Acoustic 4 presented by its head of promotion Perry Parikesit.

“I was very honored to have been presented the Platinum Award and I was grateful that it was done in Indonesia. That way, I was able to personally dedicate the award to the Sabrinatics who were the reason behind that award,” Sabrina said. She gladly signed autographs for album buyers after the show. But some fans as far away from the capital city of Jakarta flocked to her hotel just to see her. “Sabrina gamely accommodated the fans and bonded with them despite her very hectic schedule,” Foronda said.

Before the show, Sabrina guested at top radio stations Mustang FM and U FM where she was asked questions ranging from her music to “if she wants to live in Indonesia.” She also performed her latest single Moves Like Jagger in Indonesia’s No. 1 variety show Dahsyat where after her appearance her Twitter followers shot up from 6,000 to 10,000.

First time she was in Indonesia was in 2011 for Kampeong Jazz Music Festival in Bandung followed by a promo for I Love Acoustic 3 in Jakarta which also turned Platinum there then shows at the city of Semarang.

Aside from I Love Acoustic 3 and I Love Acoustic 4, all of Sabrina’s previous albums from the I Love Acoustic series have reached Gold and Platinum success in Southeast Asia. Her first and second albums I Love Acoustic and I Love Acoustic Too were Gold in Singapore and Thailand and Double Platinum in Indonesia while I Love Acoustic 3 is also Gold in Singapore and Thailand. The albums also came out in Malaysia and one of her singles was included in a compilation album released all over Asia.

Sabrina was well-liked by the Indonesians that another show will be scheduled this year in time for her new album which will also be available in Southeast Asia. “They even requested her to record a song in Bahasa Indonesia,” Foronda added.

Aside from the Spyder products on sale from March 26 to April 1, enthusiasts were also introduced to motorcycling, cycling, and running clinics. Though we weren't there when this things happens it's sure great to know that they made something like this. The clinics were held in partnership with Safety Riders, Team manager of the Philippine Cycling team for SEA Games Edmund Mangaser, and three-time ultramarathon champion and Best Female Triathlete nominee Michelle Estuar, respectively. That was just too bad not to meet them and have some good tips and perhaps guide if we were to pursue triathlete.

Also, it was the conclusion for the Spyder-Charge Your Summer Blogging Contest, as they award to the top three winners of the said contest. Cash prizes and premium items from Spyder and sponsors were given to the winners. The top blogs were featured on the Team Spyder website and the grand prize winner won Php50,000.00 cash prize and an all-expense paid beach vacation for two courtesy of Spyder. Two of the top winners weren't their to claim there winnings so two blogger friends just went on the stage to claim in their behalf.

In Depth Thoughts About The Lorax

11:53:00 AM

Why would Dr. Seuss write something about the environment and why have it in less comprehensive audience? As for my understanding during Dr. Seuss time it is very hard to go up against with big names and big companies. People standing up to their believes are being suppressed by powerful tyrants. They would not listen to any thoughts about the environment and the effects of what they are doing. Perhaps that's one of the reason why Dr. Seuss made it into a children's book. Also I think he got the idea that if you want to change the world start with the kids and children's books are one of the most powerful influencer. Kids read books whether it is in school or at home.

Not really sure if he had read Jose Rizal's writings but the idea of teaching the young ones the importance of the environment and letting them picture what will happen is somewhat similar to Jose Rizal's famous quote “the youth of today is the hope of tomorrow” (not exactly as it is but the thought is close enough).

The story of The Lorax does not only talks about the environment but it does show ideas of the economy as well and how filthy rich people takes advantage of different situation. In other words greediness comes in, moral issue is much more likely. Being opportunistic is not bad but grabbing the opportunity in the expense of others is not a good call of success.

Remember the story of a young girl who stands and talks about the environment in front of the representatives in the United Nations (not sure if it is a conference or a summit)conference? Yes, she made the whole world listen to what she have said and perhaps that was the start of the change. Just like the quote in Dr. Seuss The Lorax “unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.” It is indeed that unless there's one person that will make a small act, not only for the environment but also for the next generation to come, things will for sure change and it's for the better.

Jay Park comes back onto the music scene after taking a year off.

With last year’s mini-album “Take A Deeper Look” Jay Park brushed off his ‘idol image’ and stepped up as a solo singer. This time around with his first full-length album “New Breed”, he matures even more into an all-around musician.

As with his last mini-album, Jay Park again holds the reins as album producer. Writing over 80% of the songs, he cements his status as a world-class singer-songwriter. The album’s title track “Know Your Name” is an addictive blend of hip-hop, pop and Euro dance, taking the listener on a hypnotic journey. And with Jay Park’s trademark hard-hitting lyrics and catchy chorus, “Know Your Name” is sure to be 2012’s biggest hit.

Totaling 15 tracks, this album is sure to catch the eyes and ears of listeners. With tracks ranging from R&B to dance, electronic hip-hop to Euro dance, listeners will hear sounds they’ve never heard before and meet a brand new Jay Park.

Famed U.S. producer Rob Knox, who previously worked with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Chris Brown and Britney Spears, lends his talented hand, elevating the album to another level. Kenny Rogers Hits The Big Three

4:27:00 PM

Healthy foods are one of Kenny Rogers Roasters best offering.  Since most people nowadays are cutting down with their food intake and more on the healthy foods, Kenny Rogers  has another treat for their patronizers.  Kenny's serving their newest addition, the Saucy Roast Chicken with three new sauces to choose, savor and crave for.

The newest Saucy Roast Chicken was introduced and served during the Kenny Rogers Roaster's 3rd Bloggers Night Event held at the Kenny Rogers Roasters Store in SM Megamall.

Each sauce compliments the Saucy Roast Chicken differently. Infused with the flavors of pepper and fragrant garlic, the new chicken flavor is best enjoyed with any of the three sauces that could make dining an immeasurably enjoyable experience. For that extra bite, Cracked Peppercorn Sauce - flavorful gravy dotted with cracked black pepper – is perfect; while diners who dig the taste of the distinct sweetness of barbecue, would choose Sweet BBQ Sauce in a wink. It would be a ‘sin’ not to try Creamy Mushroom Sauce – creamy savory gravy peppered with mushroom bits.

Among the three, the Cracked Peppercorn Sauce is my favorite gravy taste with a kick of cracked black pepper.  With the sauce choices you can only avail one sauce of your choice per order and if you want to taste the other sauces you'll have to pay for it.  For me, I definitely would not advice for a mix.  They don't jive very much.

Before the chicken was served they first introduced us their three flavorful side dishes, the Mediterranean Pasta, Eggplant Pomodoro and Mashed Sweet Potato.  They say good luck comes in 3s so they decided to make this a trifecta offer.  The Mediterranean Pasta is a light but flavorful medley of premium pasta, roasted eggplant, olives, tomatoes, and parmesan cheese tossed in Kenny's very own tomato vinaigrette; the Eggplant Pomodoro is a fire-roasted eggplant baked with chunky, Italian-style tomato sauce, topped with parmesan cheese; and Mashed Sweet Potato is a nutritional side with a sweet, buttery, and slightly creamy taste and aroma.

Here's what Ms. Meggie Bolinao-Jose, Kenny Rogers Roasters' Marketing Director has to say, "These delightful chicken and sauce matches are our delightful gifts to foodies.  It's a new set of pleasant surprises for our guest. There is no eaier way to put it.  It's definitely another way of enjoying the unique Kenny experience."

The trifecta side dish and the Saucy Roast Chicken are just the perfect food to have.

Saucy Roast Chicken is available with Solo Plates, Group Meals, Healthy Plates and Combo Meals, and is available for dine-in, take out and delivery. This uniquely Kenny Rogers product will be available in all its restaurants until June 30, 2012 so visit your favorite branch today.

Call 555-9000 for Kenny’s deliciously healthy delivery. For more details on Kenny Rogers mouthwatering food choices, log on to www.kennys.com.ph.

Pre-screening held at the parking lot trimmed the list to over 350 hopefuls to control the mob wanting to get in and perform on stage. Escalating more gossips and more people talking about the show, the on-lookers and mall-goers caused major traffic as hopefuls get their shot being judged by Inspirational Diva Judge Ms. Jamie Rivera, legendary music icon composer and arranger Mr. Vehnee Saturno and renowned talent manager Ms. Maristel Sempedro.

Some who were champions in other networks and talent shows also joined in the experience and heard "Dito ka na Kapatid! Ang galing mo!" from the judges while the others were short of preparation and practice. An Eric Benet, an Alicia Keys and more remarkable talents rendered their best act and got loud applause from the audience but not all the contestants got in the final list. A Fil-am born with one ear sang to his hearts content and impressed the judges' on his struggle to adjust in the Philippine culture. Some trio and duo also performed with complete costumes to wow the judges but not all the groups received the approval for the final list.

TV5'sKanta Pilipinas breaks ground as it changes the Philippine culture of singing contests not just looking for "Birit Queens/Kings". Eyeing more unique voices and real talents, the judges were very distinct at comments on each contestant on stage. A Cercado sister joined without her siblings proving her sisters wrong about singing contests and performed without the usual technique the family had assimilated. Will she make it to the final list? Some got all three Yes' and some were just unfortunate enough to get the vote of the three judges. The choice of songs, the versions and the unique tunes were prominent at SM North EDSA. At the end of the second day call-back auditions, only 23 got in the final list to compete with the other contestants from other regions.

The search continues as it brings Kanta Pilipinas final on-ground audition in SM City Batangas on April 20, 2012. Who will move the judges next?
