Star Music Partners with Reel8 for the Music Videos Inspired by Well-loved Songs

7:59:00 PM

Star Music has teamed up with production unit Reel8 in telling compelling stories through music videos inspired by well-loved Pinoy tracks under Star Music and uploaded on the new YouTube channel, Reel8.

The new initiative prides itself in taking on “a duty to propel the Philippine music industry through stories that are relevant and meaningful to the real consciousness and emotions of the Filipinos,” as well as producing “Reel8-able stories inspired by the songs we love.”

Its debut offering is the music video for the metaphor-filled track “Ambon,” Nica del Rosario’s entry to ABS-CBN’s Himig Handog songwriting competition in 2016, which was interpreted by Barbie Almalbis.

The music video depicts the story of a hopeless romantic woman who has somehow grown impatient for a marriage proposal from her boyfriend to happen. It also subtly paints the song’s theme of a couple being on different pages when it comes to taking their relationship to the next level.

Meawhile, netizens couldn’t keep but leave varied reactions on the MV uploaded on Reel8’s YouTube channel, sharing their takeaways after watching the story unfold.

“Ang daming emotions while watching this video. Nakakainis, nakakatawa and masaya kasi happy ending,” futteydc commented.

“This MV simply tells us that patience is a virtue,” Angela Panganiban said.

Expect more of Reel8’s music video presentations as they tell more stories through the music that you play! Watch the “Ambon” MV on Reel8’s YouTube channel. Karen Reyes Got Scared of Admitting She's A Mom

7:43:00 PM

For a human being, probably one of the hardest things to do is to admit or the act of admission. It is hard to do when you're a celebrity who has been in the limelight. All eyes are always on you. The talk will always be the wrong actions rather than what is best that you did. For Karen Reyes, former housemate of the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Season 4, it takes a little bit of strength to admit that she is now a Mom.

Yes, Karen Reyes, the 2nd Big Placer of PBB during the 2012 edition, recently admitted to the public through her Vlog that she is already a mom. The admission took place during the celebration of Mother's Day. Take note that she is not just a mom but a mom of two kids already. Her eldest kid was two years, and the second one is still a baby.

Why did Karen keep it as a secret? According to her during the vlog revelation, "natakot ako kaya hindi ko nasabi agad." She got scared, that's why she didn't mention the pregnancy at that time, except for her sister and bestfriend. According to Karen, she got pregnant in 2017 and was still working with the movie "My Ex and Whys."

She got scared of the idea of losing her job once she admits the pregnancy. Remember that she was at the peak of her career at that time, and the admission would probably ruin her career. The secret continues, and last year 2019, her second baby was born. So it was still hidden until this 2020 Mother's Day.

Well, after watching her revelation, I can say that she was relieved, or more to say "nabunutan ng tinik."

Visit Karen Reyes' Vlog for the story.

The sexy suspense film “Love Lockdown,” meanwhile, mixes three stories of lies, lust, and betrayal set in the present quarantine period. Shot via Zoom from their own homes, Angelica and JM lead the romance and thrill to prove that nothing can stop love, even in lockdown. The three-part film also stars Jake Cuenca, Kylie Verzosa, Sue Ramirez, Arjo Atayde, and Tony Labrusca and drops on May 13.

Kisses Delavin Much Better To Go Solo

8:51:00 AM

One of the beautiful products of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), Kisses Delavin, has created a name. We have seen her become herself and truthful with her actions inside the PBB house. It was a few years ago when she was still on her sweet sixteen. It seems that time does fly so fast because just recently, Kisses celebrated her 21st birthday. So it was five years have passed since she started with her showbiz career.

The Love Teams
Right after PBB and with the thought that their partnership clicked to the masses, the KissMarc Love Team was born - Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo. It was sweet at first, but later on, a break up happens because of some misunderstanding and issues.

After KissMarc, another partnership was born, the DonKiss - Donny Pangilinan and Kisses Delavin. It was the time when Vice Ganda included the couple in the movie for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Unfortunately, just like the previous partner, they went on their separate ways. It's another issue about her partner.

Just right before the outbreak of the COVID-19, McCoy De Leon was probably the next in line with her. Though, they do have some good chemistry on cam and off cam. But the problem was, she ended her contract with the Kapamilya network, so the probability of McCoy and Kisses is already 50/50.

The Probable Reasons
With her five years of being in the showbiz industry, it seems that Kisses is having problems with her partners. In five years, she already lost two love teams. Why is it so? Well, there are quite a few probable reasons that we found but no conformity of the subject.
  • Kisses Delavin, is an NBSB (as what we have heard from previous interviews), so the tendency to act and be sweet with her partner is probably unusual to her, which gives a different signal to her partner.
  • Being the only daughter and probably born of the traditional Pinoy family made her mindful of the simple courtesy and etiquette that are maybe different from her partners.
  • Shes too straight and vocal about her thoughts and feelings.
So these are only speculations that may or may not be accurate at all. Knowing that Kisses is a promising actress, staying in a love team is probably not for her. She can do more with her showbiz career without a love team.

8 Helpful Tips For Tiktok Videos Stand Out

12:02:00 PM

Probably one of the best effects of today's crisis is when people juice out their creativity.  Be it become the new norm or not, people are really creative, some just need a little push. So when you hear the song “Don’t Start Now” by English singer/songwriter Dua Lipa, I'm sure there's a kick in it that initially will let you think of.  Do you imagine the visually stunning music video tied to it, or is your mind flooded with mental images of a plethora of dance covers on TikTok?

Indeed, TikTok has become a global phenomenon and, lately, has sort of becoming a therapy for most people especially in light of the community quarantines enforced worldwide. And with millions of active users on the platform, coming up with fresh and unique videos may seem like a daunting task.

Fear not because collecting plenty of views, likes, and followers on this rapidly growing platform are not impossible. Here are 8 tips on how to make Tik-Toks that stand out:

Immerse yourself in the “For You” page
Developing ideas and crafting them into your latest TikTok might be difficult due to the sea of clips already out there. But who says you can’t draw inspiration from these clips? Binge-watch videos on the “For You” page to get a sense of what’s hot, what’s not, and what hasn’t been created yet.

Use your own audio clips
While TikTok has a vast library of songs and audio clips, they are only offered in segments lasting no more than a minute. Got a favorite? Why not use a separate device to play audio clips of your choice. Be wary of copyright infringement though.

Make every second count
To get a higher viewership count, make sure that the first few seconds of your TikTok has an impact that will easily reel people in. Try baked-in captions or brief and creative intros on your videos to entice viewers to watch your clips entirely.

Showcase your “talent,” but be yourself
TikTok is considered a safe space for people who want to explore and broadcast their skills and talents. Whether it’s dancing, singing, acting, cooking, or showing how talented you are at being talentless--that actually garners a lot of engagement--show the world what makes you, you. Just make sure to maintain authenticity because that is what the audience likes.

Go all out
While you’re at it, make sure to give it your all and showcase the best version of you. Don’t be ashamed of being a bit “extra”. Put on your best outfits, apply makeup, and unleash a burst of energy--it’ll only be a few seconds anyway.

Be relatable
Another way to make your TikToks stand out is to make them as relatable as possible. Try kickstarting ideas with a few unique questions like “How do I react during monumental scenes in a certain renowned movie?” or “How do I look when I wake up on different days of the week?”

Add in multiple hashtags
Maybe you’re thinking: “...but having a ‘gazillion’ hashtags is so 2013.” While that may be true for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, there is certainly zero judgement on the use of hashtags by the TikTok community. In fact, using a ton of hashtags like #fyp and #tiktokph, increases your chances of landing on the “For You” page.

Engage in a “Duet”
Joining forces with fellow “TikTokers” not only allows for wider audience engagement but ensures fun and interactive experience. Plus, you get to make new friends in the process.

Bonus tip: Follow influential profiles

Much like in fashion and design, it’s always good to have pegs that are consistent with your style and taste. Follow your favorite TikTokers and celebrities to be in the loop for latest trends. And while you’re at it, follow the brand on TikTok at @vivophilippines to get fresh and creative updates on products and services.

STATEMENT ON THE CEASE AND DESIST ORDER ISSUED BY THE NTC TO ABS-CBN

7:30:00 PM

Millions of Filipinos will lose their source of news and entertainment when ABS-CBN is ordered to go off-air on TV and radio tonight (5 May 2020) when people need crucial and timely information as the nation deals with the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is in compliance with the cease and desist order issued by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) today that prohibits ABS-CBN from continuing its broadcast operations effective immediately.

Despite Senate Resolution No. 40, the House of Representatives’ committee on legislative franchises’ letter, the guidance of the Department of Justice, and the sworn statement of NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba, the NTC did not grant ABS-CBN a provisional authority to operate while its franchise renewal remains pending in Congress.

In an interview with DZMM last week, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano even gave an assurance that there is no move to shut down the network.

ABS-CBN has been providing comprehensive news coverage on the public health crisis and working with local governments and the private sector in providing food and basic goods for those in need through its “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” campaign. To date, it has delivered over P300 million worth of goods for the benefit of over 600,000 families affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

We trust that the government will decide on our franchise with the best interest of the Filipino people in mind, recognizing ABS-CBN’s role and efforts in providing the latest news and information during these challenging times.

ABS-CBN remains committed to being in the service of the Filipino and we will find ways to continue providing meaningful service to them.

For the frontliners, the center plans to add additional programs aside from the existing ones that they have, like the plan to limit the frontliners time in the hospitals to avoid too much exposure and the possibility of contracting the disease, plan to provide sleeping quarters or room for those who don't want to go home yet to protect their family, overtime pay, monetary considerations, and other benefits if ever they got sick during their duty as frontliners.

6 Mobile Apps To Enjoy By the Whole Family

10:07:00 PM

We have been quarantined and locked inside the house for more than a month already, so, I'm pretty sure that you're also having a problem with the activities to do with the family. So here are some fun activities for the family to enjoy during the extended enhanced community quarantine. It's six apps to be exact that you can enjoy with your loved ones to help rid of the boredom.

Spaceteam (Free)
This game involves teamwork, quick reading and listening skills, and lots of shouting. Spaceteam is a multiplayer game where 2-8 players operate a spaceship by following on-screen instructions to successfully traverse space-avoiding asteroids and wormholes in the process. The catch? While each player has a unique set of controls, time-sensitive instructions to your controls will only be directed to any of your teammate’s screens—hence the shouting.

Heads Up (Free, with in-app purchases)
“The Ellen Show” fans will undoubtedly be familiar with this guessing game she plays with celebrity guests. With several categories to choose from, players take turns holding their smartphones on their foreheads as the app flashes words that the beholder must guess. The player opposite the screen helps the other player guess the word by shouting clues, doing accents, or acting the word out.

Out of the Loop (Free, with in-app purchases)
Being left out has never been this fun! Out of the Loop is a 5-9 player game that presents a secret word to all but one participant—the one dubbed “out of the loop” by the app. All players then proceed to answer questions about the word, with a vigilant ear to try and guess who they think is out of the loop. The challenge is for the person left out to try their best not to be obvious and pretend to be in the know.

Monopoly (P199)
More of the board game type? Good news! Monopoly is available for mobile devices for only P199. The mobile version of the popular board game allows a maximum of 4 players to sharpen their business minds in an attempt to bankrupt each other.

Exploding Kittens (P99)
For just P99, the nerve-wracking, hostility-inducing card game is available for mobile devices as well. Gather around and enjoy a highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette with the entire family as the game allows for a maximum of 5 players.

TikTok (Free)
Those who want to shed off some quarantine-induced weight, showcase their talents, and simply have fun with the family can try TikTok, the latest and top destination for short-form creative videos. Family members can use the app to show off their dance moves, acting skills, humor, and creativity. They can also follow @vivo_philippines to check out exciting videos from the smartphone brand.

So, what are you waiting for? Strategize, laugh, dance, and bond with the family by downloading these apps through the Vivo app store which is pre-installed in all Vivo smartphone models.

Saving the Planet in Style with Samsung Lifestyle TV Lineup ‘Eco-Packaging’

6:51:00 PM

Our lifestyle is the reason why we are experiencing so many things today, so lifestyle is also the answer for us to help our Mother Earth to heal and to be saved. Climate change is true and not just something to be ignored. We all need to work together for the change. And knowing one of the electronic companies, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., just recently announced its better way of giving Mother Earth a breather. They introduce its new eco-friendly packaging across its Lifestyle TV product portfolio in efforts to reduce the environmental footprint.

Samsung’s new ‘eco-packaging’ made from eco-friendly corrugated cardboard will be applied to The Serif, The Frame, and The Sero, allowing customers easier recycling as well as upcycling of the cardboard boxes for creative reuse.

Samsung has applied a dot matrix design on each side of its eco-friendly corrugated cardboard boxes, allowing customers to cut the boxes more easily and assemble them into various other uses, such as small end tables or houses for pets.

Included within the packaging is a manual to guide customers on how to make household items out of the cardboard boxes, which can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the box.

Owners of The Serif who tend to put shelves and furniture around the TV can build cat houses, magazine racks and even shelves from the cardboard boxes to store household items and electronic devices, including the remote control.

Earlier this year, Samsung had already won CES 2020 Innovation Awards for its eco-packaging concept for promoting the efficient use of resources.

As part of the rollout of the new eco-packaging, Samsung and Dezeen, a British lifestyle magazine, will hold a global design competition starting April 6th, where the two companies will award the most unique and practical designs and will apply the designs into its eco-packaging manual.

"Consumers are more likely to purchase from a brand that shares similar fundamentals and values as they do, and with our eco-packaging, we believe that we can provide our customers with a new experience that considers the environment as an important way to express themselves," said Kangwook Chun, Executive Vice President and Head of Product Strategy Team of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

For more information on the design competition, please visit Dezeen’s website at www.dezeen.com and Samsung TV Instagram (@samsungtv).

100 Reasons To Be Thankful To The Lord

7:14:00 PM

I just watched one of the episodes of Magandang Buhay, and one of its guests is Brother Bo Sanchez. For sure, you know who is, and probably, he somehow touched your life one way or another. One story that inspires me, aside from him being a preacher, is his story of how he helped his "kasambahay" or house helper to save money and even taught them to invest in stocks.

This morning's episode of Magandang Buhay shares an inspiring thought about our current situation today. MayWard Not Rushing to A Romantic Relationship Or Going on Separate Ways?

11:25:00 PM

From teens to twenties, we all feel that romantic urge in our life, the feeling of being complete because of the special someone who's very much close to us. The very thought that that person makes every moment of our lives memory a treasure to cherish. Love isn't all about romance, but it also entails responsibility. Just like the Spiderman quote that says, "great power comes with great responsibility," and we can say that love is a power that we all have in our hearts. And I believe that the MayWard love team understands that big responsibility that will come to both of them if they fell into that relationship trap.

That is what they probably felt when most of the people around them are very fond of their closeness together on-screen and off-screen. Most of the fans are expecting, maybe, that both of them will end up together in a relationship. Well, it's not that far to happen.

In an Instagram post of Edward Barber, which is probably a collective effort of the two to bring the news to their fans about their relationship, says that "...we both are still very young, and there is so much more we still want to achieve in our lives...," it is straight to the point, but there's another interpretation about the matter. Take note of the line 'achieve,' which is the usual reason for the past love teams to go on their separate ways. They wanted to grow more of their career paths.

So, whether they'll be moving on with their careers or not, they made it clear they are not rushing about to have a romantic relationship. Let's hope that it won't be another love team to go on separate ways.

A Facebook Chatbot Help for Store Finder PH Users on Free Mobile Internet

10:47:00 PM

Currently, when everything is so hard to reach, it's good to know that we are still blessed because of the technology of today. Here is one development that is of great help in times of crisis. So if you're ready to get to know what it is well, just continue reading and know what it is.

When Store Finder PH’s map website went live on March 19 to help locate nearby establishments that are open during the COVID-19 community quarantine, families with no internet connection seem left behind.

However with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the volunteer-initiated website is able to make its key content available on Facebook Messenger through a chatbot. A chatbot is a computer robot that replies to messages like a human being.

Currently, Facebook Messenger can be used even without a mobile data plan as part of the basic service of Smart, Globe, and affiliate providers, making the store finding-chatbot accessible to more than 44 million phone internet users in the Philippines at no extra cost.

Store Finder PH named its chatbot “Crowdy” to signify the project’s crowd-sourcing nature of collecting information. To use the chatbot, the user should open the project’s Facebook messenger.

After tapping “Get Started”, the user may pick the establishment category and type a location that the chatbot will scan through. A list of search results including grocery shops, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, ATM centers, remittance centers, logistic hubs, and other essential stores is then displayed within seconds.

Although the map feature is disabled when on free mobile data, crucial information including business hours are still delivered in text format.

“Our main contribution as millenials to the Enhanced Community Quarantine measure of the government is making tech solutions and life-saving information reach the doorsteps of every Filipino,” said Trinmar Boado, an award-winning Information and Communication Technology (ICT) advocate and leader of the volunteer project.

He added the chatbot is getting a high volume of query for remittance centers, explaining this must be from parents of stranded students and other individuals sending out financial help.

On Store Finder PH’s website version at www.storefinder.ph, users can see the map of their neighborhood and the exact location of open establishments. They can also chat with other active users within the vicinity to seek any assistance during emergencies.

To start using the Store Finder PH chatbot, open m.me/StoreFinder.PH or fb.com/StoreFinder.PH now.

Nadine Lustre Deligently Follows Quarantine Protocols

11:33:00 PM

At this time of crisis, people who prefer to do things on their own are more appreciated and given recognition. It's not because they wanted the attention but because they know they have to do it on their own. A more independent approach! That's what happens when a Pinoy celebrity in the likes of Nadine Lustre spotted in one of the grocery stores in the metro doing her grocery chore. Of course, there's always the fans who would still take a photo of her, which was shared online.

Nadine's photo has gone viral after being shared by one of the netizens and probably a fan as well. A picture of her in line and while doing her grocery. Not really sure if she's alone or not but based on the photo she does the grocery alone. So, if ever she had her bodyguard with her would probably be waiting at the car.  Remember that the quarantine period requires one member of the family to buy groceries.

Nadine's action was applauded and praised by the netizens. The queuing, which she patiently waits for her turn in the line without her using her celebrity status, only proves how disciplined she is. It is a gesture needed by the government from every citizen in this lockdown period.

Celebrity or not, we should do the same!

A small gesture of encouragement and strength as vivo Philippiens helped in boosting the morale of frontliners and further ensure their protection, vivo Philippines has given out appreciation letters and thousands of surgical masks to select hospitals through the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and other local government offices.

The handwritten letters of gratitude and encouragement, and masks were turned over to the OVP for distribution to the Philippine General hospital, and the Bonifacio Global City administration office for distribution to St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City. vivo directly handed similar donations to The Medical City Ortigas.

“With their valiant efforts, our medical frontliners are truly the heroes in this battle we are waging, but we also understand they are also human and can be physically and emotionally exhausted,” said Charisma Buan, vivo Philippines PR Lead.

While most of the letters were addressed to frontliners, some were also directed to COVID-19 patients to give them hope.

“Along with providing much-needed support, we also want to instill hope during this pandemic, especially to the victims and their families. With our modest contribution, we hope to help our medical frontliners in flattening the curve soon.”
